Let down by the tiny shower room/toilet.
It was also poorly designed and you could not close the door and open / close the shower door. Also badly designed so water from shower soaked the floor and into the room.

Pictures for all rooms on thier site show a regular bathroom/shower room. Our Executive King has a tiny space no more than 1m by 2.5m
Rest of the hotel seemed good.

The hotel staff were really good throughout, but the hotel itself could use a refurbishment and has really bad/non-existent soundproofing. The general location is excellent, but the specific street is really noisy and the windows do not stop any of the noise - in particular, the little supermarket next door makes so much noise throughout the day as they bring stock in and out. I would stay there again, but I think I would check out some of this brand's other locations first.

We had an excellent stay at Room Mate Mario. The check-in process was seamless and the staff was incredibly accommodating. We arrived early and, although our room wasn’t ready yet, they gave us a clear timeline of one hour and provided a great recommendation for a local brunch spot nearby. True to their word, the room was ready exactly an hour later. The location is absolutely perfect, it’s very close to Gran Vía, but tucked away enough that it isn't chaotic. It felt very quiet and safe at all times. If you are driving, there is a public parking garage very close by which made logistics easy. The room itself was very clean. We did experience a brief power interruption during our stay, but it was an issue with the local area, not the hotel itself. I was very impressed with how the hotel handled it; they notified us immediately when the power went out and followed up right away to check on us once it was back on. Great communication and a wonderful stay overall!

The breakfast had the same items every day, very limited healty options, you can find better options chepper outside the hotel, not worth the money. Some rudenes from the older the staff, the young were nice, the areea is safe and very close to the metro.

The staff was amazing. My wife and I have been to Madrid a few time. On this trip we thought we would step out of our comfort zone and try new places. We so happy we pick this spot. The staff and their ability to speak different languages made communication so easy. They were so helpful they really went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. From the warm welcoming to the little gifts in the room to giving advice on new places to eat. We will definitely stay here again and this might possibly be the only place we ever stay.

The staff was very helpful. Front desk went above and beyond to insure our expectations were met. My wife and I come to Madrid every year and this trip we decided to stay somewhere out of our normal. I have to admit I was a little hesitant to stay here. However this was one of the best choices we made. The staff really made us feel like they wanted us to stay with them and did everything to make us feel comfortable. Everything from the welcoming when we walked in to the treats in the room to suggestions on places to eat and just having small talk like we knew them for years. They even let us store our bags after check out so we could enjoy our last day in Madrid. Everyone the we spoke to at the front desk spoke multiple languages so communication was great. I’ll definitely be staying with them again next year.

The area and hotel staff are excellent. Our stay at Roomate Mario last year was excellent. For this 3 night stay, the AC would not cool our room. We had one day with no room cleaning service. We are very tolorant but at $400 plus canada dollars a night, the company should insure unquestionable service.

I stayed at Room Mate Mario Hotel in Madrid and had a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city, with plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants just steps away. Almost everything you’d want to see is within a short 5–10 minute walk, including Gran Vía, Plaza Mayor, and the Royal Palace. It made exploring Madrid incredibly easy and enjoyable.

The hotel itself is modern, stylish, and comfortable, with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always ready with recommendations. My room was clean and well-equipped, offering a great balance of comfort and design.

If you’re looking for a place with a prime location and great value, Room Mate Mario is an excellent choice. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Madrid.

I really liked the hotel. It was modern, comfortable and clean. Location was excellent, close to many sites but in a smaller street away from the noise and crowds. Staff was friendly and helpful but a couple of things disappeared from my room, money and two items of clothing which left me a bit concerned. Overall, a great place to stay; breakfast was also great.

Bonjour, nous avons séjourné 3 nuits. Nous avons eu un très beau séjour. L’hôtel est très très bien situé. On peut tout visiter à pieds. Juste à 2-3 minutes de la Gran via. Le déjeuner était très satisfaisant. Rien de négatif de ce côté à redire.

Point négatif : nous avions réservé notre séjour dans une chambre incluant un et c’est ce que nous avions payé. Malheureusement, sans nous le préciser, on nous a donné une chambre avec un grand lit ce qui n’est pas la même dimension et le même prix. J’ai dû retourner à l’accueil et insister pour avoir la chambre qui nous avions payée. La jeune fille à l’accueil me disait sans cesse qu’elle était désolée et que toutes les chambres étaient louées pour notre séjour de 3 nuits. Je n’ai pas bougé de l’accueil et j’ai attendu qu’elle trouve une solution . Finalement, elle a appelé le superviseur et on nous a trouvé une petite chambre avec un très grand lit. Ce n’était pas exactement la superficie que nous avions payée mais bon, il semble que nous n’avions pas d’autres choix. Soyez vigilants lors de votre récupération de votre chambre et surtout apportez des bouchons, c’est bruyant la nuit dans les couloirs.

Is water expensive for the hotel?

Everything about my stay was satisfactory to superior. The only question I have is about the cost of water. Upon arrival I found water in my room in a rather heavy glass bottle. I drank it and was refreshed. I went to the front desk with a question on my second day there and asked for a refill. The desk clerk told me the water was a one time thing for my entire stay.

I loved my stay at this hotel. I have been before and the service provided by Jose in Reception is consistently beyond excellent, this time me and my son also met Yimmy in reception who as Jose was very friendly, kind, warm and with a great smile and happiness to help and and greet us. My son everyday asked if his friends Jose ans Yimmy would be in the hotel to say hi ans chat with him when we were heading back to the hotel. I definitely will be going back as I feel is like visiting a friends place being greeted and helped by Jose y Yimmy. Thank you !

Very unique hotel in a delightful way. Upon arrival a personalized welcoming message handwritten on my bathroom mirror. Staff excellent, very clean room, shower fantastic and bed comfortable. Single room not large but perfect for a solo traveler. Location and neighborhood wonderful right next to the Opera and virtually around the corner from the Royal Palace. Short walk to the legislature and president’s office. The only improvement would be to update the rooms as it appears they were decorated around the year 2000. All in all a very enjoyable stay. I would stay again.
