Great hotel. Staff was amazing to help with taxi and ideas on what to see in city.
Cleaning women cleaned twice a day. Room service on time and very good. Bar staff visit was nice and friendly, wine outstanding.
Made me feel at home I want to stay here again and longer next time. Exactly relaxing and a wonderful get away. I was traveling alone this trip, so this a perfect place. Location is good for walking to almost all areas on Lisbon. Took a walk to the river every day, lots of small restaurants and shops on the way.
Overall wonderful hotel.

This is by far the worst Sofitel I have stayed at. The property is dated and dark. Rooms are small and staff are not helpful or welcoming. In my room, safe was not open, hand wash and conditioner bottles were empty and body wash pump was broken. The HVAC was not working and the room was unpleasantly hot. The mattress was damaged and uneven. My visit was short before an early flight but I could hardly get any sleep due the room condition. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

It’s a 5 star Hotel and I am an ALL member as well but to me and my family’s disappointment, we were checked in at 3:20 pm.We had come from
Seville after a 6 hour long journey and we expected to be checked in on time.
If you guys charge customers 150 euros for late check outs then you should also compensate your customers for late check in.

This was not at all expected from
A big brand like Sofitel.

The young concierge was very helpful and friendly. The staff in the restaurant for breakfast were not.
The rooms were comfortable and quiet. I did not like having only a rain shower in the shower stall. There was a hand-held, but no where to hang it. It was literally a hand-held.

Mediocre hotel. Small rooms and bathroom. Rooms need upgrading, rug was worn out and had stains . Mattress was old and uncomfortable. Staff at breakfast were extremely rude and badly trained. All in all my assessment is that this hotel is in desperate need of a good manager that properly trains staff in customer service

Extremely disappointed with this hotel!
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU EXPECT 5 STAR SERVICE AND ACCOMMODATIONS! Upon walking into the hotel you’re hit with a smell of sewage. They attempt to cover it with air fresher that does not work. Then after receiving my room I see that they put me in 1 category lower then I originally booked. The manager tried to convince me that was not the case because I was on the higher floor, he said it was the category I had originally booked even though it was much and I mean MUCH smaller then my originally booking. He then proceeded to tell me that unfortunately the hotel was overbooked and there was no way to make a change. The only available option was the room for disabled individuals on a lower floor. After showing it to me I saw that this was indeed the size of room I had booked except for the accommodation in the restroom for a disabled individual. I agreed to accept this room only because we were traveling with 2 other couples. Otherwise I would’ve left this hotel and checked into a TRUE 5 star hotel with the accommodations and service that comes with it.
To the manager, if you read this. Your feeble attempt at offering me a bottle of champagne and fruits thinking that would somehow makeup for this error is ridiculous.

Beautiful room with luxury amenities, and lots of space for toiletries in the bathroom and shelves to unpack your clothing. The location was in a very upscale part of town and we enjoyed walking the area. The best thing about our stay was the staff. From the check-in staff, the employees who functioned as concierge, the restaurant, white staff, the bartender. - everyone was amazing, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a special experience.

Very disappointed in Sofitel’s lack of kindness!

We had a family medical emergency. We had to cancel our trip the day we were to fly to Portugal and fly to New York City because our 40 year old son was found by his wife having seizures which he has never had before. It was discovered that he had a lemon sized tumor in his left frontal cortex. The tumor was just removed by the neurosurgeons.

We did prepay for our Sofitel Hotel room as well as other hotels for our two week trip. Over half of the hotels were quite kind and understanding and gave us a full refund. Sixt car rental fully refunded our non-refundable car rental because of our situation. Needless to say our son and his family are much more impotent than a vacation. We have stayed at other Sofitel hotels over the years but will look elsewhere in the future because Sofitel would not refund any of our prepaid reservation. I believe in karma.

Checkin great, beds and pillows, location all wonderful. Decor of the rooms not our style. Rooms are showing signs of wear. Very dirty around coffee maker. Hallway carpeting needs replaced. Kept tripping on the ripples of carpet and noticed the same dirt on the floor during our entire stay. I would not stay here again.

You can’t beat the location. It’s central to all the neighborhoods in downtown Lisbon, main train line is just a 5 min walk, and it feels safe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only thing that could have made it better would be a pool but that said, there’s not much time for poolside relaxing when you’re out touring the city.

Unexpectedly disappointed with customer service , housekeeping and the hotel itself. The hotels is well worned. The lift was always taking guests to the wrong level. The towels are grey colour like they are 100 years old. What upset me most. I left for meeting and put the “ do not disturb “ sign. Because I put my medicine in order to be taken on my pillow. As well as my clothes for another meeting. When I arrived I saw housekeeper moved everything. So the signed was completely ignored. I tried to call reception. The phone did not work. I had to go down and complained for both housekeeping and the phone. After that no e even bothered to come and apologize or check the phone. Moreover , check out is at 12 pm. I came from shopping at 11.25 to learn the my cards were disactivated. I went down and was told all cards are disactivated on check out day. To my question why as it was not even 12.00 noon. He did not answer. Unbelievable experience for such chain. Shame to be called SOFITEL 5 *.

This hotel is outstanding! The staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are a super comfortable (the beds are a dream!), and the bathroom amenities were generous. Diptique lotions and potions are my favorite! The bartender gave me a lesson about port wine, and each evening we found chsmomile tea ready to brew before bed. Can’t recommend Sofitel highly enough!

The accomodations are not 5 Star. We checked in early (for a premium) after a long flight from N.America, staying nine nights. We purposely booked a larger luxury room but were originally given the smaller dimension room barely room for two suitcases with a miniscule wardrobe. We requested a move but alternatives were limited but took the only larger room which was dated and worn. I travel globally this was high on my disappointment scale. Hotel is in a good location but seems used by bus tours.

Great location, with Avenida Metro station across the street, and maybe 10 minute walk along pleasant avenue to downtown, Baixa district.

Our first time in Lisbon, and great choice for first exploration. Staff couldn't be more helpful and pleasant, and nice quiet location.

I felt a little guilty with my dowdy fleece and jeans and sneakers -- a lot of guests seem to make an effort to look a little more dressy. If that matters to anyone else. No one said a thing to us, I just felt self-conscious!

The room itself is very nice and comfortable, and service is fantastic and friendly.

Only deductions are for lack of electrical outlets for charging phones. USB 2 outlets do exist, otherwise only one adapter-capable outlet in the bathroom. USB 2 worked for us. A couple fittings in the bathroom were starting to come loose.

I was very happy with the stay and glad we chose this property. Would happily repeat!

The staff in the breakfast room was attentive and congenial.The dinner dining was exceptional for its cuisine, and, for its skillful and witty servers. Thank you David, Pedro and Victor. And thank you in particular to the consierge for arranging transportation to the airport and for providing useful information about sightseeing options. This is certainly our hotel of choice for any future visits

Staff couldn’t do enough for us and our baby, staff are legendary nice and helpful. That makes a place worth staying in.

From the moment we were dropped off at the hotel until we checked out 8 days later, we were ttrested exceptionally well by the entire staff of the hotel. Check-in was a welcoming and pleasant experience. The bell staff were courteous. Room service was prompt and the quality of the served both in the room & at the restaurant was fresh and tasty. When we return to Portugal, we absolutely stay at the Sofitel again & again. The location was central we enjoyed our walks around the neighborhood.

Quite sad that a chain hikes its rates exponentially - I booked 5 nights at an average of 375€ and immediately booked 2 friends on consequetive days for 3 and 2 nights and their rates were 445€ and 520€ each. The reception was kind of stiff lipped - and extremely slow. One would have thought there would be warmth when a client pays over 3200€ for 3 rooms - yet barring the breakfast personnel who warmed up seeing us everyday, it seemed like the reception was doing us a favour speaking to us.
