When we first arrived at the hotel around 10 pm we found huge puddles of water on the room floor, and a stench of something rotting in the room or somewhere nearby. After complaining we were moved to another room, that had carpet covered in do many stains. The room had a tiny bathroom with a miniature iron bathtub with enamel broken in multiple places and shower that was impossible to fix on the wall, so it had to be held on hand at all times.
Next day we were moved to the first room. The room was dried and cleaned but the rotten smell did not disappear and remained all the time that we stayed in the hotel. The stench completely ruined our stay.
There was no table and no chairs in the room, just three beds, a closet and a wardrobe. Refrigerator was very small - I had to remove all the shelves in order to fit 1.5L water bottle. There were no hooks or bars in the bathroom to hang towels.
On the positive side, the room and bathroom were spacious. Large windows with great views of the city. Nice rainfall showerhead.

If you just need a simple place to stay, walking distance to attractions this is a good place. Bring earplugs and slippers. No issues at check-in/out, staff was kind. Didn’t get the breakfast, but there are so many options around.

The room condition was unacceptable. We booked 5 nights at this hotel with twin room shared bathroom , when we arrived they give us a very tiny room with shower(no toilet) , this room is very tiny and hardly turn around , the window shade is broken and can not close , the light are very dame with one light bubble doesn't work, the carpet is very dirty and after all the most important thing is there are mold everywhere, around shower room and the wall corners. This is big concern and will cause health issue. I asked to change room next day and they did change room for me , this time the room is bigger and a little bit better condition, but there are still mold around bathroom and the toilet is loose and we have to be very careful every time when we use it. Anyway , This was worst experience for our trip. I totally understand this is very old building , but they should make them livable for the rooms I had stayed. Beside all above, the hotel front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

In my opinion, This hotel was great for the price. Its architecture is beautiful. It is like staying in old times. Its views from my room were really nice. Perfect location with walking distance to many activities, shops, restaurants, san Jorge castle and coffee shops. My room was very spacious with AC. and huge shower, little fridge and safe box. Its elevator gives a lot of character. On the other hand, the hotel has some stains throughout the common areas and it is noisy, but I guess the whole city is noisy. Breakfast is very simple, but has coffee bread, cheese, cereal, etc

Beds were horrible- you could feel the springs. We asked staff (housekeeping and person at the desk) for two additional towels (one of ours was ragged), but they didn't show up. We would be happy to stay there again, but would want to check out the beds first!

Good idea to contact hotel to find out best and least hilly way to get there but the view is fantastic once you arrive. The room was very nice and clean with large modern bathroom and plenty of space generally. Paulo and Helena were very happy to help in any way and we were very happy with the hotel. The only drawback was the lift being out of order for part of the stay which made the climb up to the 4th floor a bit tiring but it was fixed while we were there so all good in the end.

I booked this hotel because it had an elevator as it was important for group of 8 women ages 60-84. Reception was on 3 floor and turned out our rooms were on 4 floor. I was very upset as they should have notified in time for me to find a room with elevator. They offered a discount but I really do not know if we did get one. I really wonder if they had an elevator that ever worked. The front entry door was literally opened and actually anyone could get into building, it was not secured for safety .

However the lift broke on the 1st day, climbing 5 flights of stairs several times a day was not easy.
Breakfast was fine, rolls, meat and cheese and danishes, but the later your were, the less options.
Unfortunately noisy neighbour who made a noise ubtil 2am every morning. The situation of the flat ment noise when the windows were open, but fine when closed. However no air conditioning so the room could get warm.

We reserved two rooms. My friend’s room was on the 4th floor, which appeared to be under renovation. The double bed had no headboard, and there was a large unfinished area with a hole where something hadn’t been installed yet. The biggest problem was the shower—water pressure was extremely weak.

The hotel is located perfectly, walking distance from most places (despite the hills). We had the room on the fifth floor and the views were incredible. The rooms are equipped with a safe and mini fridge and the staff were prompt in getting us a hairdryer and iron when we needed it. Definitely recommended.

My stay exceeded my expectations. We were greeted by a very helpful guy at the front desk, who stored our bags and looked up directions for us. The room had a clean, bold design with incredible views of the city from the fifth floor. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom. The two twin beds were very comfortable, and the couch bed was suitable for a smaller sized person. I would absolutely stay here again due to the customer service, location, and style of the hotel. There is an elevator that was out of order for the first few hours we were there. This property is not handicap accessible. There is a flight of stairs to get from the street to the first floor the elevator is located there and is very small. Thank you for an incredible stay.

What we don’t like is that, we try to find the property w elevator, we stay 4 nights and the elevator is out of order for 3 nights. It’s very inconvenient when your rooms are on third floor. We have to carry our luggage from3rd floor to downstairs

The room was very large for European accommodations. Bright and sunny. That being said, like most reviews it smelled of sewage straight away. The air conditioning worked well and helped with the smell. I am used to hard beds in Europe but these beds you could feel the springs the entire time.

Likely why there is no trash bins in the rooms and we had to dispose of trash each morning in the street bin. Great location, walkable everywhere, big windows - we had an awesome view of the water and downtown Lisbon from the 4th floor. Note for staff: The bathroom could use hooks for towels - there are none, so literally nowhere to hang them. But it’s a small thing, no big deal. The other note has nothing to do with hotel, but just a note on street noise - people were hanging out all night long in bars and cafes on streets facing the room, it is super loud until early morning hours.
