The room was dirty, specially the carpet and bug infestation. There were bugs crawling everywhere! I strongly suggest to stay away from this hotel! When I checked out I was told they normally don’t have bugs. Terrible experience!

Great property away from the main tourist hub. not near the water but if you have been to Lisbon before, it's a lovely respite. One thing I do think that the hotel needs to a much better job is sign posting the hotel. You enter off the main street (if you are lucky enough to find it....i was not even with a Lisbon taxi and was dumped half way down the street even though the Uber had the full address. Further, it is down a very steep hill so if you have a lot of luggage it's frustrating and challenging). even ordering other taxis caused delays and frustration, better and larger signs would make a huge difference. Luckily the hotel is a gem and my sore arms were thrilled to arrive in such a special place!

Decent place to stay in a vibrant neighborhood. Hotel was more hip than it was nice/classy. Our room was small. The bed was comfy. Lobby and pool were hip seemingly meant for a younger crowd. Asthetic was bohemian and trendy. Hotel greeted us w a welcome drink and chocolates and a map. And unlimited bottles of water. Bfast was not included. Good restaurants in the area.

The hotel is beautiful design-wise but the rooms are small; I had a room with terrace and small. Also, my flight was cancelled twice and the hotel still charged me for both nights, which I understand, but appalling told me it would mark me as a no show and not guarantee my room for the 3rd night even though I’d already paid. This meant I would’ve paid for all 3 and not been given my room for even 1 night. After much back and for thing, they finally agreed to give me my room for the 3rd night but this never should have been a question. I wouldn’t return for this reason alone.

This is a tremendous hotel and a fabulous stay. We got the terrace room and enjoyed drinking Port on the terrace looking over the city at night. We really appreciated the designer touches in the room. The breakfast is elegant and the hotel is in a convenient area with restaurants, stores, and night life. Would love to stay here again.

Loved our stay here! Lots of thoughtful touches, like complimentary port and tonics in the room. Onsite paid valet parking for 30 euros/day. The view is amazing, but we've stayed in the city view and balcony + fireplace room and actually preferred that (real fireplace!).

Everything was very good except for the location.
The staffs were kind and their service was excellent. Loved their breakfast and condition of the room was great, but the location isn't so good. It's located at Princepe Real which is about 15 mins from Rossio Station by walk but feels like more than that since it's located on the hill.
We've tried both rooms with a city rooom view and a fire place, and we liked the one with a fireplace. It was an unforgettable memory, thank you!

It’s not a big hotel, but it felt like a well operated place. It’s impressive when you first arrive and the rooms are amazing. (We booked three)

The view is spectacular and the food was great. The morning breakfast was delicious but the service at breakfast was so so. I had to ask several times for a coffee and waited about 15 minutes for it.

I definitely recommend it. Also, it’s a little tricky to find. That’s all I’ll say though because finding it is a part of its charm.

The view from the terrace is certainly the Memmo Principe Real's unique selling point and it does not disappoint - it's looking north east-ish into the commercial district of Lisbon but also much of the older hilltop areas too. I found it very satisfying. The restaurant is excellent and not too pricy, the rooms are beautifully designed and the staff are friendly & efficient. I now have a dilemma of choice between this hotel and Memmo's other, Alfama property - an existing favourite of mine - on any given trip!

Beautifully decorated, very calm furnishings and a haven of quiet in the middle of a very bubbly area of Lisbon.

Amazing visit. Highly appreciated Memmo Principle Real. Location: great! Service: top notch. Room beautiful, very good layout with separated toilet/bathroom. Nice touch with a complimentary Porto Tonic on arrival. The rooms with terrace & sun chairs overlooking the city are a nice upgrade. Breakfast: excellent. A la carte for Obvious Covid reasons. My one note would be for the hotel to inform anyone traveling by car how to enter the parking area beforehand. It's very narrow and steep, and it's not obvious that you actually can enter with a car that way. Thanks for a lovely stay

My husband and I took a trip to Lisbon for our first time. This hotel was the best that we could pick. The staff was amazing! They were very friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and updated with all luxury amenities. The breakfast was delicious. They gave chocolates every night with a turndown service and the view was beautiful as well. This is in such an amazing location and easy access to everything. We will for sure return to Lisbon and Memmo Principe Real! Thank you!

The hotel had amazing views of Lisbon and the staff were outstanding in every way. I had a wonderful stay and if I ever come back to Lisbon I would definitely choose to stay at Memmo Principe Real again. One word of advise is that the hotel entrance from the main road is easily missed and if you’re coming by car, be sure to have your cab driver drive in and down the steep slope to the hotel’s main door. My cab driver didnt realize he had to drive in and dropped me off along the main road and I had to drag my heavy suitcases down the cobbled and steep slope. The hotel should maybe put up bigger and more obvious signs at the road so that people can’t miss it.

Excellent food. And Sandra at the réception as well as Rita at the restaurant were soo kind and always willing to help. Even the house keeping ladies were always dedicated with a big smile.

Centrally located hotel

Free evening walking tour useful to get your bearings and interesting.
Nice comfortable hotel very accommodating staff. No noise in the room good night sleep lovely bedding. Nice meal in the hotel one evening if a little expensive. Breakfast good not exceptional varying choice of fresh fruit. Need to be very specific about the way you like your eggs but overall good.

It seemed cramped, the AC didn't work properly, and there was no hot water in the sink. But it was comfortable and had a fabulous view. It seemed minimalist \but I prefer a larger, old-fashioned room.

Wonderful conveniently located top hotel in Lisbon

Perfect spot in Lisbon with a very nice neighbourhood to wander. Close to great restaurants and just 10 minutes walk down to Chiado/downtown. Staff are amazingly helpful and respond quickly to requests - comparable to best service of top Asian hotels. Definitely will come back to this hotel next time we are in Lisbon

Very modern hotel with exceptional staff

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Memmo from 6-9 April 2018. It is a bit hard to find as it is off the main road and the only indication is a small sign on the wall outside an alleyway next to a tapas bar.

The hotel is modern and our room, 310, was spacious for a European city hotel. The staff are exceptional and simply couldn't do enough. Every single one of them was a true ambassador for the hotel. Truly 5 star service and something British hotel staff could learn from.

In terms of locality it is in convenient walking distance of all major landmarks and even views from the hotel itself are great especially at night. There is a recommended view point close to the hotel where you will also find a small market and coffee shop, great for chilling out on your way back from your day of sightseeing.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Fabulous stylish hotel with exceptional staff

From the moment we arrived at The Memmo Principe Real Hotel the staff could not do enough for us - they were friendly & knowledgable on local recommendations of restaurants etc. The hotel itself was very stylish and comfortable. We booked a room with city views which was lovely. We only ate breakfast in the hotel which was delicious and beautifully presented.

Tranquil hotel and fabulous neighborhood

A lovely tranquil hotel with an elegant modern decor and an excellent restaurant on site. The staff are friendly, engaging, and top notch in every way. The neighborhood is dynamic, has lots of good restaurants, is within easy walking distance to all the sites, but is not packed with tourists like some other parts of town. Hard to improve upon.

Brilliant Hotel. First Class service, staff and fa

From our arrival to our departure 5 days later we could not fault the staff, service and facilities at this hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, a good sized room with all the facilities one would expect and require in a 5 star hotel. Room service and cleaning were excellent with comfortable bed and good sized walk in shower. The breakfasts provided were well cooked and presented and the dining room was bright and comfortable. We had one evening meal in the hotel and it was probably one of the best meals we have had, and that includes some very good 'starred' restaurants we have dined in. The meal was faultless and superbly cooked and served. This is a first class hotel easily worth the highest praise.

Hidden gem

Off the main road through an arch this hotel is a real treat. Beautiful rooms, fabulous restaurant, a lovely bar and close to restaurants, bars and a nice stroll into town.

Location was ideal

I like to roll out of bed and be in a hotel surrounded by morning coffee options. To be in a hotel where I can stop in and out with shopping bags, to change or to nap. Location in an upscale buzzing neighbourhood is key. This hotel met all of those requirements. Plus gorgeous interior design, view and much attention to detail. One of the best hotels in years of travel.

Excellent hotel with great views

We were looked after extremely well throughout our stay, with courteous and helpful staff for who nothing was too much trouble. Stunning views from our room overlooking the city and the castle up on the hill opposite. We ate in the hotel on one night - the food was excellent and of a high standard - plenty of choice. Breakfasts were excellent with nice selection of pastries, meats and cheeses, with eggs, bacon, etc cooked to order.

Top quality hotel

We chose a Superior room and it was excellent. The view over the city from the balcony was great (despite the cranes). We really enjoyed the breakfast, from the fresh fruit selection to the cooked offering. The location in Principe Real is spot on, about a 10 minute stroll from the busy bits and the hundreds of restaurants.
If we revisit Lisbon, we would definitely like to stay at this hotel again.

First time visit to Lisbon

When looking for a place to stay,I was first attracted to the \"new to Expedia\" label for this hotel. The reviews indicated a pleasant hotel. I will say you will not be disapointed. We had one of the rooms with a balcony and fireplace in the back but still had a side view. While I suspect the city view may be nice, having t,he extra balcony space with a couch outside was awesome. For the view we just went downstairs in the morning for a tremendous breakfast. The hotel is 1st class all the way. . Beautifully constructed with top quality finishes. You can not go wrong. Great neighborhood within walking distance of great restaurants. We look forward to a deffinate return. Thank you to the entire staff. Oh by the way; check out the other Memmo property.. we did and it too looks awesome.

Great hotel for a romantic getaway

We stayed here for a few nights as part of our honeymoon and loved it. Because it's incredibly new, the whole hotel including the rooms are really modern and clean, and the room in particular was more spacious than many we've found in Europe. The views are unbelievable - it's tucked just over a hillside overlooking the city so it's picturesque but hidden down a steep road so it's not overrun with a lot of people. The staff were incredibly helpful with things like restaurant recommendations and reservations. There's also a small pool which is nice, but because of the location it doesn't get sun until late morning/early afternoon, and it can be a bit windy. It's in great walking distance to good restaurants and bars as well. Overall we had a great time! It's a perfect spot for couples.
