The room and bathroom were small, basic and functional. Some fixtures in the bathroom were broken. Because this hotel is in the middle of Bario Alto the party street, it’s very noisy until 2 or 3 am so you won’t get any sleep in those hours

My expectations were low since an older hostel. When I arrived, the front desk clerk was kind and spoke to me in my language even helped me bring up my bags to the room.
The room had its private bathroom and a small balcony which was a major plus! Bathroom is small, toilet was fine, shower had low pressure. Nothing amazing but good to have in the room. Beds were fine, room wasn’t the cleanest but the location made up for it!

We had a perfectly adequate small room for a reasonable price. However more attention to maintenance very much needed. In our room the toilet seat wasn’t properly secured and would fall off; the small glass shelf over the bathroom sink was falling from the wall mounts and so tilted it was useless; and one window curtain was missing and the remains of one curtain rod holder was still hanging on the wall. All of these items could be easily fixed with some simple maintenance. Also a few pictures placed in appropriate locations on the wall would enhance the space at very little cost and effort.

Great location and the staff was excellent and helpful. But the property has its challenges. It is hard to find on the alley-like streets of the old town. There is no elevator, and to get to reception is three landings up on relatively treacherous stairs. The bathroom is very small and cramped with a barely working shower. There was a strange, pungent smell emanating from the drains. And the window has s screen that you can’t see out of.
Still, for the value price and location and lovely staff, it was a good deal.

So glad i picked this place even though it is a bit outside of Sintra, so if you don’t have a car you need to Uber it into Sintra which was no problem for me. The restaurant downstairs is amazing and is owned by the same people who are very friendly. There was breakfast in the morning which was put in the fridge for you, it had your room number on it. It came with fresh bread and an assortment of meats and cheese. There was a kitchen which had fruit and condiments. All in all i had a great experience and would recommend this place. Very clean and safe.

The room was a bit tight, we hardly were able to fit the luggage. Lucky we had only two for three people. However the beds were comfortable, and there was AC. The surrounding area is not nice during the day, it looks like we were in a back alley with garbage tins on the street. However at night the street transforms, full with restaurants and bars. Very lively and full of people. I was surprised how the atmosphere changed, it looks quite nice. However bring earplugs, people get very happy and it is noisy.

I booked the double room (double bed) with private bathroom. The bathroom was slightly small but on the other side, this is right in the centre of Bairro Alto and at a very good affordable price. Also the cleaner was very nice and cleaned the room daily ! The receptionist swere mostly very nice and friendly too.
After 12 AM you have to ring the bell to go in, which is ok, but I am only giving 4 stars, because the receptionist the last night reminded me that I need to checkout tomorrow, just because I went to the room late after a night out. He repeated twice the checkout time.

Excellent low budget hotel in the heart of the Barrio Alto. Comfortable beds, lively bars and restaurants a little noisy (which adds to the atmosphere) until about midnight then slept well - quiet mornings. Very friendly staff. Disappointed with the property. The attic room that we received was not matching the image on the website and was too small for a family of 4. It is dated, the shower is missing one door, and water leaks to the floor. The biggest issue - there never was any parking available while it was listed as one of the property amenities.- this was simply a lie! I wouldn't book this place as we were traveling by car. More than that - car access to the area is restricted to taxis only, and other cars entering the restricted section of the old city get a fine. This information should have been provided on the website!

Location was perfect, you can walk from there easily everywhere since is located barrio alto. Room was ok, it had everything I needed, the bathroom was really small but at least I had one in my room. The toilet was leaking, and at night it gets really loud since the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars. The person in the lobby was not very welcoming or friendly maybe because I don’t speak any Portuguese but overall this place is ok for what I paid.

It certainly has not been renovated in years. The bathroom are in very bad condition. The siphons are clogged and you can not shower normally. We change two room. Both have this problem. The only good thing about that hotel is the man who is working on reception at night. He is very friendly and helpful.

Best investment I’ve made on a budget
This is the perfect place to stay if you are on a budget. They are extremely well organized and the service here is prestine. You get to be in the center of the city, right by the bars and the nice restaurants. The rooms are pretty good too, you will see that the showers are in your room which is unusual but I got used to it pretty quickly!

Safe and clean enough with a great location
Overall it was a very easy and pleasant stay. I was staying by myself and wanted a good location that was clean and safe. Pensao residencial camoes did just that! The hotel isn’t super high end, you have to lug you stair case up stairs, it can be noisy hearing commotion from barrio alto or from other guests, but overall for the price, I’d definitely stay again. I had a private bathroom and am not quite sure what public / shared bathroom was like. Additionally, the breakfast wasn’t super elaborate by any means but provided the basic necessities.

DO NOT thank Roger for lying for not doing the promised repsirs, for cjarging the city tax twice, and for not giving me any credit for stayinh two extra nights, and for doubling the price. Now psy less than you asked at a 3 stsr hotel with private bsthroom and FANTASTIC breakfast.

Perfect location for the late night craziness in Barrio Alta. Despite being in the heart of the action our room was very quiet and for our needs. Granted our private bathroom was so small you could sit on the toilet and brush your teeth in the sink at the same time, but what do you expect in a 100 year old building in a perfect urban location. Staff was great and breakfast as good as any you'd get a a chain, USA location. Great value for the money.

I am very happy with my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They cleaned our room every day. They had a good breakfast. The only thing I have to warn about is that this hostel is located in a part of town where there's a lot of partying going on until late at night. It was very noisy. So if you're looking for a quiet place to stay this is not the place for you. Other from that I'm very pleased with my stay.

The hotel is surrounded by lots of restaurants, but it is close to the top of the hill and isn't very convenient to the metro. Breakfast was from 8:15 - 10:45, but almost always a little late. The electricity went off twice from too many things being used at a time. The English was okay, but had some problems with communication. Taxis are super cheap, but some had a hard time finding this place. It is in the old part of town, but lots to see and do.

Clean and tidy, in the heart of it all.
Clean, tidy little place. Extremely cheap...but you get what you pay for. I guess I didn't realize there was a \"shared bathroom\" for the whole floor. Room was perfectly neat and clean...and microscopically small. Not the place to go if you have heavy luggage, which I did, because you'll have to schlep it up a minimum three flights of narrow stairs. Staff varies from cold to very friendly. Overall, if I had to do again I would have spent a little more to stay someplace nicer.
