Excellent service and they even had a room ready for us when we were only expecting to drop off our bags after an early flight and arrival. Fantastic location, yet quiet for a good nights sleep.

Great location—within easy walking distance of most attractions and the train station. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. Note that not all rooms have bathtubs, so be sure to request one if that matters to you, as ours did not include one.

Our main issue was with housekeeping service. When we returned from a long day trip after 3 p.m., our room had not yet been cleaned. We called the front desk and asked if we could step out for a drink while the room was serviced over the next half hour, and they agreed. However, when we checked back, the room still had not been cleaned.

At that point, a housekeeper came down and had a loud disagreement with the front desk in front of us, with some comments seemingly directed at us about patience. We were then told the room would be serviced only after the housekeeper took a break, which was disappointing after a long day out. To their credit, it was done quicker with a more receptive housekeeper.

The hotel is in a good location across from the famous Carmo Convert. But it took me a long time to find it the first time I came out from Rossio Metro Station. Part of it is because the streets are hilly and intertwined. Our room is clean and comfortable. The best part is the breakfast that has many choices and staff are super helpful and courteous. One disappointment was the check in. The front desk lady seemed to forget that I have been waiting in the dinning for a long time.

What a clean and beautiful hotel. Location is a plus. The room was spacious and romantic.I got the room with view and was breathtaking. Staff was super attentive. The hotel is perfectly located—right in the heart of Lisbon, close to shops, restaurants, and the metro, yet wonderfully quiet at night with no disturbance from the street. The location was fabulous! Right next to a lovely square with outdoor cafes and a quick walk to everything. The room was small but perfect for me. Everything about this quaint hotel is first-rate, and the staff makes you feel welcome immediately. The small lobby is clean, the lifts are a good size, and the rooms are Euro-modern.

It is superbly situated with easy access to Bairro Alto, a score of cafes, Plaza Luís de Camões, Santa Justa Lift to access Plaza Dom Pedro IV, and the Bica Funicular to access the waterfront. Also, the Rossio Railroad Station is just a few blocks downhill with several trains per day directly to Sintra.

The front desk staff and restaurant manager were superb and were genuinely interested in providing us with the best experience. We will definitely be back.

The hotel location was excellent. The rooms were clean & comfortable, and the staff was courteous. And the breakfast that was included was very nice and had a wide number of options.

Our disappointment arises because the photos & description of the room reserved did not match what we were given upon arrival. We reserved a Deluxe Double Room (Castle/River View). The photos of such rooms appearing on the Hotels.com site all show bright rooms with large windows and/balconies. Our room (#407) was dark and had only a very small window (~1.5 ft X 2.5 ft) crammed into a corner, behind a desk. While it’s true that one could see the castle if they shoved themself in between the wall and the desk, and craned their neck to look outside, the marketing photos do not accurately portray the room provided. When I brought our disappointment to the manager, he was courteous but explained that marketing photos cannot be relied upon and no other rooms were available. He also stated their affiliation was with Expedia, not a hotels.com, so he was unable to explain any inaccuracies that maybe be present. Additionally, no hairdryer was provided despite being described as an amenity on Hotels.com when our reservation was made.

We are frequent users of Hotels.com and have relied heavily on the site for our vacations over the last many years. We’ve never run into such an issue before. While we very much enjoyed our recent visit to Lisbon, this experience was quite disappointing.

We stayed for 7 nights. The room was large, for Lisbon, and the bed huge! The bottle of mineral water was replaced every day and the Nespresso machine was restocked with capsules too. It was clean, pleasant and quiet.

However, on the first morning, we reported an issue with the shower being broken which prevented us from being able to stand under the shower head and this was not resolved until the 7th evening. We had no bath towels one day and I didn’t notice this until after I’d used the ‘shower’ and had to dry myself with a robe and a hand towel. We also spent two days with no tissues. Indeed, one evening we found the tissue box dismantled and left empty for the second day.

Yes, these are First World problems but they’re not acceptable for such a class of hotel for which we’d paid a premium price. The breakfast was reasonable although I found the hot buffet to be lukewarm most days.

Would I stay there again? It’s doubtful - the previous 5 times we’d been to Lisbon in the previous 5-6 years, we’d always stayed at a particular hotel of the same class in Baixa but fancied a slight change of scene this time. It was worth a punt and the slight change in location.

My stay here was better than expected. I had a red-eye flight and arrived at the property at around 7:30 am. I requested an early check-in. While, they didn't have the room ready, they offered me complementary brunch for free. They then were able to get me checked in by 11:30 for a nap even though standard check-in wasn't until 3:00 pm. Hotel was generally quiet and was not a big hotel - 5-6 floors, and a few rooms per floor. The area was perfect - right in the middle of Baixo and Chiado, allowing access to sights and bars in both directions. Also right next to a famous church that was turned into a museum as well as a historic gothic elevator / lift providing great views of the city. Clean room and I was on the 5th floor, also with a great view of the city. Would definitely come back again.

We did a 3 cities( 3 hotels) trip in Portugal. Lisboa Carmo is the highlight of our guest experience. Extremely good value for the price we paid. Beautiful room, great bed, completely silent in the middle of Lisbon.

Hotel restaurant was comfortable and served a great variety of dishes. It was also easy for us to get to many nice places (Ofício per example).

Above everything, staff members were all highly professional and servicable. Their hospitality is probably the cornerstone of the establishment.

Overall, this is a nice-looking hotel with great breakfast in very good location. However, room maintenance is an issue. The visitors before us at the front desk complained of no AC. Our room had an extremely smelly sink that probably needed p-trap cleaned. The first full day there, we had to complain twice to get any action. The sink required chemical treatment twice/day for smell to lessen enough so we could sleep in the room. The mgrs did not seem surprised by the smell.

Charming little hotel located in a wonderful location. Walkable to all the shopps, restaurants and sights. So close to the train to Sintra and also to the underground subway. Our room was on the 5th floor and our room had phenomenal views from all windows. The room was comfy, clean and quiet. The hotel provided us new bottles of water daily. When we checked in, they welcome us by bringing cherry wine and pastel de nata to our room! If we go back to Lisbon, we would definitely stay there again.
