The room was small but okay. However, to get to the room on the 5th floor, we had to take turns using the elevator that only fits one person or walk up the narrow stairs. On the first day, the elevator was broken so we had to carry heavy luggage up, which was uncomfortable. The reason we chose this accommodation was to have a delicious breakfast on the rooftop, but there was an issue with the rooftop so we couldn't have breakfast there and had to walk to another restaurant instead. It would have been nice if we had been informed or aware of all these situations in advance.

Finding a room to sleep 4 for our family was tough. This room accommodated a family of four pretty well but it was tight. The room is standard. There are a lot of stairs and the elevator only stops on 2 floors so be prepared for all the stairs. It is also very easy to miss when you arrive, it’s basically in an alley sort off, and we walked past it then had to go back and search to find it. The staff was helpful.

The Art Inn really is a special jewel in the heart of the city! The hotel is extremely clean, quiet and centrally located! Unfortunately during our stay there were unexpected repairs needed on the roof, but the hotel notified us immediately and offered a full refund. They then made alternate accommodations at a nearby restaurant for guests. The one down side of the hotel is the stairs! Guests on the 2nd and third floors have to walk up a very steep staircase to access reception and their rooms so be prepared to lug that luggage!

Lovely comfy room, with very large comfy bed. Lovely roof top terrace for breakfast and evening drinks or meal. Breakfast choice was great with superb coffee and a wonderful view to the castle. Staff were friendly. May be difficult for the infirm as lots of steps up to rooms, there is a small lift but not sure how helpful it would be. The hotel is in a great central location for exploring Lisbon

The property is ideally located in the heart of Lisbon. The staff were a little indifferent to our needs. Three of us sharing a room and whilst a little thing the tea and coffee was only set up for two despite asking at reception twice. We replenished our tea bags from the all inclusive breakfast only to find on our return from shopping that housekeeping had had removed them taking us back to only two tea bags for the day! The towels and bedding were clean. Breakfast was poor. Lukewarm and limited hot options particularly for the vegetarian in our group. Basically only egg for her!

There was an unexpected long flight of stairs to get to the elevator, but the staff helped get luggage to the elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very nice with air conditioning, clean, spacious and a view of Lisboa rooftops. The rooftop deck is where the included breakfast buffet was served. We enjoyed the coffee, food and expansive view which included St. George's Castle on the high hill. The rooftop was also a great place to enjoy a drink in the evening. The location is excellent for walking up the hill for fado, shopping, dining, great views, or to the river area to catch Tram 28, a tour boat or to wander, eat and shop.

This is an interesting place: a bit hidden from the street, but nicely set up. The location is great - you can walk to a lot of attractions but it's also close to the metro. The roof top restaurant/bar is great for breakfast. If you are in a room at the front, keep your windows closed as there is a lot of activity on the street at night. I had an early departure and I appreciated the breakfast box delivered to my room early.

It was a one night stay and the location was great, easy to find, check in was quick and smooth and the staff was nice, professional, knowledgeable and very helpful (10/10). 2 single beds in a small room, but it had everything we wanted, it was comfortable, very clean and has a roof top view that was amazing. It offered food and drink but we didn’t use it.
Elephant in the room is the stairs of the street that you have to go up, but the staff was very keen to help. Get over that and you’ll be very pleasantly surprised.

This was a family trip. The ART INN Lisbon is in a great location. The rooftop bar and restaurant was something special to experience. They offered a great breakfast that was included with the room. When we checked in they sat us down and told us everything the city of Lisbon had to offer. That was really helpful.

Very shady location. Poor customer support. Below average breakfast.

Location: Have to go through street with homeless ppl and a ton of trash. Yes, Rossio is a good place overall but no reviews talk about the shady part so I am calling it out.

Customer service: hard to reach the customer support. Have to follow up many a times to get anything fixed.

AC: air conditioning didn’t work. Had to get fans in the room which were ineffective.

Phone in the room didn’t work. Had to message on WhatsApp for anything.

Breakfast: only one rude lady with headphones on doing everything. Only a 2 cut fruits on a good day else just one. Subpar selection of everything else.

The rooftop looks much much nicer in the pictures than it really is.

There is no lift from the ground floor to the checking place. So get ready to carry your luggage.

Rooms are nice and clean but rest could be improved a lot.

Overall this is not a hotel. You don’t get 24h support.

Location felt super safe given how close it is to Rossio square.

We did have a small issue with our room which be brought to the attention of the staff and they were very understanding and accommodating in terms of a resolution.

Only drawback would be the amount of stairs if you have mobility issues (however there is a lift once you get up the first floor of stairs).

Overall would definitely recommend the Art for your stay is Lisbon!

Lisbon city center is very busy! The location is great and walkable in every direction. There are a lot of stairs which I’m ok with but could challenge some. There is an elevator but it’s only designed for one person. Great rooftop breakfast, fun art throughout, and enjoyed the history displayed in the hallways!

This was mixed. Location: Excellent. Breakfast: excellent. My bed was comfortable. What wasn't so good were the stairs. There were no plugs really for charging phones and things. They advertise the rooftop for dinner and drinks, but the manager turns people away saying everything is reserved and yet you could be in and out well before the reservation arrives. We did get wine and appetizers and the wine was awful. The salad and appetizer not great either. The shower was hard to figure out. If you are young this hipster hotel would likely be a good fit but for my parents in their 80s it was a bit rough.

Great, quirky boutique hotel in the heart of town. No lift so need to be aware of the many steps to reach your room with luggage. Not much assistance from staff. Breakfast limited. This was a great property however there is a big BUT! The bed was awful, I have slept on mattresses on the floor in university that were more comfortable. It can also be a little noisy with the restaurant upstairs but my wife and myself are fine with a lively area. It would be a 5/5 if the bed was even remotely comfortable, it is close to restaurants, shopping, the staff was wonderful and the rooftop restaurant was great but the BED was terrible.

It's situated in the center of town, very beautiful! Genuine European breakfast, very tasty and the staff are quite friendly. Sadly, if you're old, the stairs are going to take a toll on you, especially if you are going to eat breakfast on the rooftop. Lastly, yet most importantly, the music is LOUD, from 9pm until after midnight... I like music, but damn, turn it down a notch.

Mixed feelings on this property. There is no lift. SO it wasn't ideal for my family of 4 to have to carry our suitcases to the third floor when we were hot and tired from travel.
The rooftop breakfast was amazing. The views were fantastic. It is 7 or 8 stories up with no elevator. This isn't for everyone.
The location is in the middle of a lot of shops and restaurants but on this street there is an abandoned building with some homeless people outside (they weren't bothering anyone) so this might not be ideal for everyone.
The balcony is cute but tiny and at night it is loud.
The shower was lovely but the whole room with one large bed and 2 small beds was super compact and tight. We had 1 night there which was fine for us but more than that and I would have left for somewhere else.
This would be a good spot for a younger couple or friends traveling who don't mind the stair situation. But I didn't like it enough to write a review to warn others who may prefer another choice.

We loved our stay at the art in! It was central to many things to walk to such as a Rossio Square, the elevator, and the commercio Square by the river port. We enjoyed the hotel very much! We certainly do appreciate the help with our luggage being taken to our fifth floor room. we did have to plan each day when we left the room to make sure to pack up everything we needed! We did not want to have to climb the stairs back to our room for something forgotten! The Buffet breakfast was plenty with many selections. The gourmet, coffee machine was superb! The staff, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The rooftop experience was beautiful!

This hotel worked out perfectly for our family. We had a room on the 4th floor with two twin beds for our kids and a king for us, and a small kitchenette. The space was compact, but we were able to unpack and settle in. It is perfectly located within a few steps to two different metro lines and the suburban train line to Sintra. We were able to walk to the Alfama and the riverfront. We enjoyed a glass a wine on the roof deck at the end of each day and breakfast was terrific. I would highly recommend this property, especially for a family.

We were daunted by the staircases that needed to be tackled but our suitcases were carried by staff so we managed fine. The hotel/room was very charming but old buildings have pros and cons. Room was comfortable but not spacious, and a lot of street noise night and early morning. Having said that, the staff were exceedingly helpful and the rooftop restaurant provided an excellent breakfast and lovely ambience.

The information is misleading, their lobby is not open 24/7. They do leave the key in a locker, but if you need any assistance, you’re on your own. The beds in our room were uncomfortable; the kids beds were incredibly squeaky, and the adult bed was uneven because of old mattresses. Our kids bedsheets were dirty and we had to put a towel over them. Since it was 11 PM there was nobody who we could call to get new sheets. They advertise a rooftop restaurant, which is very nice, unfortunately, they only serve breakfast from 7 to 10 or open late in the evening so the hours are quite limited. They don’t offer hotel services at all (concierge, shuttle service, etc.)

We had four destinations on our trip (Barcelona, Santander, Lisbon, Madrid) and this was by far the best accommodation. The property was easy to check into and access via the app and lobby key boxes. The room was huge, decorated nicely, with lots of great amenities (and a wonderful welcome gift). The rooftop was closed during our stay but the cafe we were sent to for breakfast was great. The staff were very helpful both at the front desk and via the mobile app chat. The location was FANTASTIC. We gleamed about this place to our family/friends as we checked in and the property never let us down. The only hiccup was running out of hot water when three of us tried to take showers back to back without being diligent about conserving water, so I don't blame the property for our behavior. Public transportation was nearby, was easy to navigate, and was affordable for travelers. Do not hesitate if considering this property!

Great location, good service, rooms were well equipped and spacious. Very helpful when we arrived showing us how to get to certain places. The roof top bar was accessible for amazing views but closed for business, the alternative provision for breakfast (in a cafe about 5 minutes away) was great! Lovely food and great service. Be aware that there are steep steps on entering the hotel and they continue throughout so this would not be suitable for the less mobile or people with any lung issues. Theres a very small one man lift once inside the hotel but you need to navigate stairs to reach it.

The rooftop breakfast was wonderful, and the hotel is convenient for a tourist. A few warnings. It is not for the handicapped as there are many stairs and elevator only to the roof. My room had a slight tilt that you could trip over if tipsy. The \"virtual assistant\" means that you are locked out from the building, at night, if you can't use your mobile phone and left your plastic key behind. The sign on the front door telling you how to get in is poorly written in that it does not tell you the equipment for swiping in is way off to the left, and it is English only. But I liked the efforts to be artistic, and the clerk was absolutely wonderful. There was a nice band in the rooftop for evening entertainment, which stopped playing at 10 PM.

Katerina lady at reception was very very helpful! Ever ready to help! We had a very warm welcome. Hotel is very nice. Reception or room was creatively designed. Cleaned room. New furniture pieces. Very well kept. Location is very very gd. With 3 supermkt downstairs..mins walk to metro. I feel very safe here. Breakfast was at roof top. Very nice roof top overlooking nice view. Gd variety of food! Very nice experience!

Don’t stay here, the original price is exaggerated

With luggage we had to walk 5 flights of steps to 5th floor. Very small room. Modern and comfortable if steps don’t bother you. The checkin lady was very nice and helpful at checkout a different lady was absolutely no help, again dragging all luggage without help!

Very dissapointed

We booked a room for 4 people. The room was ok quite big to occupy us all, but our main issues where the beds. They were very uncomfortable the folding beds mattresses were very wobbly, you wake up and they are all over the place. The main queen size bed has a dip in the mattress. My mother who's 69 years old was unable to sleep properly she kept telling me they she could only sleep the certain way to be comfortable. The small part of the bathroom ceiling has mold as well as the shower door. The air vent in the bathroom was not working. I told the receptionist about the bed and the air vent he said he will look into it and explained that the air vent only works in specific time of the day which didn't make sense to me at all. But anyway no change was made. I felt like the whole staff was so nonchalant about their guests. The only friendly person I met in the hotel was the woman who serves breakfast. Speaking about breakfast, bacon and omelet eggs and two kinds of cheese and cold cuts that's what your going to get. You get tired of it eventually specially for someone who's going to stay for a week. Very disappointed it wasn't the stay I was hoping it would be so I just wanted to share my experience.

Cute and artsy hotel. In the center of old town. The rooms and the overall building got a funky style. Just be aware of the stairs. So many of them. There is an elevator but only from 1st floor and take you to only 4th floor. So anything above or below you need to walk. The bed is a bit hard. Overall clean and for the price is a good option.

Best part is the location - in the city centre and very convenient for food & drink options as well as transport links and walking around. The hotel rooms are well decorated with artwork and there is an overall nice quirky feel.
The one suggestion for improvement is with regard to the breakfast. Most tourists would stay for 3-4 nights at least and hence have breakfast for 3-4 days. The breakfast is simple but does not change at all from one day to another. Hence it becomes quite repetitive and not so attractive.

Great location for families

The location is great! The staff is really nice. The room is really comfortable and has everything a family needs in it. There are two near by supermarkets.
The downsides -
1. Too many stairs.
2. There are some renovation works in the next building which means there is noise early in the morning. Assume it will finish soon.
3. There is a breakfast with really wonderful breads but that can be improved (more vegetables maybe?!).
Overall we loved it.

This was a very central hotel and quirky. There were a lot of stairs so if you're not able to use stairs this is not the hotel for you. The lift only goes to the 4th floor after reception but stairs to get to the lift and stairs after the 4th floor to the rood top for breakfast. This was a lovely area. We were told we had use of the rooftop by staff but on the 4th day we were there, we were told we couldn't use it as that belonged to another company who ran the bar, very strange. We were given vouchers for a free drink on arrival - very misleading as this was for supposedly a lemonade (as told by bar staff) but it was actually a bitter lemon drink. It was disappointing to the end of our holiday with the way we were treated as guests.Apart from this the hotel is lovely.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, funky, clean and comfy. There were 4 of us so we expected to be on top of each other, but weren’t! We loved the rooftop deck. We only stayed one night and left too early so we were sad to miss the rooftop breakfast!
This is a great little oasis in the busy heart of Lisbon.

I loved the idea of a roof top space, however, it was misleading at breakfast to see a set up for rooftop bar only to be told it isn’t. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well decorated and the staff were very helpful.

First of all there was NO information that the hotel does not have a proper elevator (they do have a very small and slow elevator that goes from level 1 to 4). They put us on the 5th floor. We had 3 heavy bags and 2 kids. This was a nightmare. Everyday we went out we had to go up the stairs 5 floors.. ridiculous.. specially after a long day out. Also the room was extremely small. it has nothing to do with the pictures. We were a family of 4 and when we got there they only had 2 beds set up (where only 3 could sleep). I had to remove myself the other bed so my daughter could sleep. The breakfast was horrible.. hard breads and the scrambled eggs were cold. Every day we were going out for breakfast even though it was included.. because it was really bad. I am extremely disappointed at this hotel. I really wish someone had warned me about all these issues..
