We arrived all wet and bedraggled having traveled all day on a bus from Porto. We were upgraded to a lovely room which helped to sooth our weary bodies. The location is the best. The room is very large. People are friendly and nice; The Internet is slow, it was almost not working on the first day; one night it lost power; the vanity and toilet are in different room and far from each other. The table is small for work; a little noisy at night

This property is a hidden gem and what I would truly consider “boutique”. The hotel is centrally located and had more of a neighborhood feel versus being in the heavy tourist area. The room and staff were fantastic and the location was perfect until the late evenings and nights when the bars were in full swing. It was very loud and once they let out ranging from about 2:00 to 4:00 AM, every night. It was too load to sleep.

There was no proper desk. They could organize the current better by arranging them into built in closets rather putting them all on the ground. The room needs a proper desk. There wasn't even enough space to put a laptop on and work. For the money I paid, I was expecting a more comfortable room. The same thing applies to the bathroom.

My wife being gluten free was offered (with notice) a lovely gluten free baguette and cakes for breakfast along with the fruits, hams, cheese and eggs and on a morning she was unwell and unable to get to the restaurant, a breakfast picnic was provided for her. A very unique property that once was the Brazilian Consulate in Lisbon. It is the heart of great energy and history in Lisbon. Such a great way to start our trip. Risul at the front desk was an absolute professional and helped guide us through our visit and arrange an excellent driving tour of Sintra/Pena Palace. Would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely hotel!!! Super spacious rooms nicely decorated, the small balconies overlooking the street are a plus! It has a bar on the 1st floor that’s also breakfast room and coworking space for none guests, they can come after breakfast which is better because can get very crowded. The hotel is right in front of a beautiful plaza, some days they had live music there and cable cars passing through nice photo opportunity. Tours will come to this location to pick you up, not every location is convenient for that.

Le Consulat hotel is excellent! The location is perfect, convenient to so much of Lisbon. Shopping, restaurants and transportation all are right nearby. Our room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the service was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Lisbon.

This is our 2nd stay at this hotel and we love it. It is an older hotel, but the rooms are large and in the best area to get everywhere. Many placed to eat in walking distance and Tram 28 is in its front door.

Nice Boutique Hotel Still in Need of Some Work
This review may seem like it is one of contradictions. Let me first say, the rooms are gorgeous, very spacious, very European in look and super comfortable. The hotel appears to be a work in progress. It is striving for a 4 or 5 star but still has work to do in the areas of a lobby and a lounge for guests. Right now it is occupied by a large group of digital nomads who work there. Cables run everywhere across the floors, every seat taken and the furniture is worn out and looks like a collection of \"goodwill\" pieces. The public bathrooms were dark, smelly and in need of cleaning. The staff, though, are super friendly and very eager to please.

Nice hotel but definitely not a 4 star. Staff is very nice and responsive. It’s a small hotel and could stand to be better maintained. Hole in the wooden floor on second landing, furniture in rooms can use an upgrade. Wardrobe doors that don’t stay closed or off hinges. Cracked mirrors, wobbly chairs. Located in the city center - so close to a lot and trolley but VERY loud especially at night.
The biggest drawback was that there is no one at the front desk from midnight to 8am. And zero security presence. Had no idea until being told at check in. Don’t believe that’s noted on the website or called out when booking. That’s a huge minus for us.

The front desk service was friendly but disorganized and not terribly helpful. Room was clean and spacious, but neighborhood is very noisy late into the night. The bar is run by a separate entity so you cannot charge to your room. When asked for baggage help in the early morning (6:30 am), the front desk informed us they are not open until 8 a.m. There are several stairs and 2 sets of doors to navigate after you exit the elevator with your baggage, so it was challenging.

This hotel uses physical keys with a meager deadbolt on the inside. I absolutely did not feel safe. Housekeeping is not good at all. they did not replenish coffee nor mini bar. To make things worse they forgot to lock my room after they were done so I walked into my room terrified who I will find. Front desk guys were nice and they managed to provide me with a hairdryer since one which is bolted to the wall is super heavy and has a short cord. Lighting in my bathroom was horrible so if you are a female, forget about putting makeup on in there. I rearranged the room and used my compact mirror. Horrible. This place is really a hostel that charges too too much and only because of the location.

The front desk team who worked at this property were some of the best I’ve experienced at a hotel. They were very accommodating and open to ensuring our stay was pleasant. This is a relatively small hotel located in a busy area in Lisbon, very close to a subway station where there were many restaurant, coffee shops and bar options. Lots of energy in this area. The hotel is quite old but the rooms have been modernized and are very comfortable including the bed. The hotel felt safe even though the reception had only daytime hours for the most part. Our room faced a square where the tram had a stop. Super convenient but if you like to sleep in, you might be awaken by the sound of the tram basically outside your windows.

On arrival the staff were so friendly and welcoming. They kept our bags until check in was ready and sent WhatsApp so we knew when to come back to to check in to the room. There was a bad smell in the rooms but we kind of got used to it and to be honest we were blown away with how beautiful and spacious they were that we would put up with the smell. We had two bedroom apartment. Both beds were king size. The bathrooms were great and with a good shower. A very stylish kitchen and massive living room. The furniture throughout was beautiful and added charm. Breakfast was displayed very nicely and was tasty. Every one of the staff were extremely attentive and kind. Overall an amazing experience, we can’t believe our luck getting this in a city centre, and such good value.

The staff here are remarkable! The location of this hotel is exactly where you would want to be. However, if you’re looking for sleep you might not get it. The city square doesn’t go to rest until the middle of the night. The rooms were clean but definitely dated. The rooms were large and it seemed like furniture was just thrown in to take up space.

We stayed in a suite that was full of character and looked out on the Bairro Alto. The fixtures were perhaps beginning to look slightly worn, with a wobbly tap faucet and broken tiles behind the sink, as well as some spots in the living room that could have done with some cosmetic painting.
