The Martinhal is a fantastic boutique-style hotel in a great location, especially for families. From the moment we checked in, it was clear they truly think about traveling with kids — fresh milk waiting in the room, potty seats available, and even in-unit laundry if you need it (which, with kids, you probably will).

The kids club on the first floor was such a standout. Our 4-year-old loved having a place to play and have fun, which made it easy for us to enjoy the city without feeling rushed or stressed. It struck the perfect balance of being family-friendly without feeling chaotic.

They also had a small welcome gift for kids at check-in, which instantly made our son feel special and excited for the stay — a small touch that went a long way.

We’d absolutely stay here again and would love to explore their other properties in the future. A really thoughtful, effortless family stay.

In Chiado on a side street just a short walk to the water and sights. For me perfectly located for a self guided walking tour from the castle to green street!. But for those out of shape , with disability or with a stroller its a hike up the hill. The hotel is charming and the rooms very clean and well-appointed with a very nice kitchen setup plus a washer. Enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay again!

Lovely hotel in central Lisbon.

A very nice hotel in a very convenient location. Had a studio apartment which was a generous size with great facilities. Extremely comfortable and lovely service including a very good breakfast.
Also useful as very close to two metro stops which gave great access to airport.

This is where you need to stay if you are traveling with young children (8 and under). It is completely set up for families, from breakfast to bedtime.

While it is a great hotel overall, I would not recommend it for single travelers or those who don't have children, as the noise could get irritating.

Every member of staff is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Amazing service and had everything you could possibly think of for a stay in a hotel with a young child. They also had a welcome bag for our son with toys and a hat which he absolutely loved. Bed was super comfy and big. Breakfast was nice and we also used the room service on our last day and the food was excellent. Sometimes when you stay in a hotel room with your child it can feel a little stressful but this was all set up so perfectly it made it really fun for all of us.

We had a fantastic stay at the Martinhal in Chiado. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and the accommodation was excellent - very clean, spacious, quiet and great that the bunk beds were in the living space as opposed to the main bedroom. The breakfast was good - not as comprehensive as other hotels I've been too - but enough choice to ensure that everyone was well fed before heading out for a day tackling Lisbon's hills. The people were lovely, the complimentary drink voucher on arrival was a very nice touch and we would definitely go back. It's clearly a very family friendly hotel and we felt very at ease there with our son (12) and daughter (9).

The hotel is very family focused. The items in the room are safe for kids, there is a highchair, toys, kid safe utensils, a kids playroom downstairs, and everyone is helpful and understanding of families. The service was amazing, and the young man at the front desk was super helpful. The bar seemed to cater to non-hotel guests but we didnt spend time there other than to get our free drink.

The negative to the hotel which was pretty big for us was the noise. We could hear people upstairs, outside in the hall and outside. We did not sleep the whole night Friday due to people partying and screaming in the streets. The sirens (there were many) were manageable as compared to the music and yelling all night from the street. Our 22 month old did not sleep all night and it ruined our flight home.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Martinhal Lisbon Chiado.

Our room was spacious and allowed plenty of space for our family of 4 to get over our jet-lag. We had a separate bedroom, alcove with a twin bunk bed off the hallway and a living room with kitchen.
The staff went above and beyond and also provided different activities for our children for about 30-60 minute increments as needed.
We did notice that the smell of cleaning supplies in one of the hallways was quite strong but it wasn’t an issue within the rooms themselves.
We would absolutely stay here again with young children and loved the offering this hotel provided. The location is also tough to beat and make sure to enjoy the Landeau chocolate cake next door!

The perfect place to stay in Lisbon, chiado with kids. My son is almost 2 years old and he loved the playground at the hotel. Also we loved the room and all the amenities provided. They even left us milk, juices and fruits at our room. Also you can find bottle warmer and all the amenities for kids and babies. We requested babysitting services and I can recommend it without a doubt. Marta was the babysitter for our son for two nights and she was excellent. She took great care of our son, she played with him and feed him. The staff is so helpful and they provided excellent customer service. I wish there was a martinhal in every country :) .

This hotel is in a great location. In the middle of the hill, near the water and other great attractions. The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are set up great for families. Lots of amenities make it very comfortable for families. There are many wonderful restaurants and shopping nearby too.

This is a great apt hotel conveniently located to the very active riverfront of Lisbon and other attractions. The apt we received was roomy with a very nice kitchen, washing machine, comfortable bedrooms and bathroom. The breakfast was included, with delicious omelettes, baked goods, fresh coffee, etc. The staff from Goncalo Nogueira (the operations manager), cook, and the 4-5 other desk staff,were extremely helpful and accommodating with where to go, how to get there, etc. A wonderful experience, a great place to stay for families and couples, great value, too.

I was surprised at how fabulous this stay was. The location is perfect and I was upgraded bc of my Expedia status (something most hotels ignore!) to an apartment. It was so well equipped and appointed. I would book this hotel again and again and highly recommend the apartment if you like a little downtime between tourist activities.

The breakfast is also fantastic and complete. Overall very highly recommended!

If you are traveling with small kids, there is not a better place to stay in Lisbon. Excellent location, spacious and lovely apartments, and great cafe downstairs. They even provide milk and juice in the fridges for free for the little ones, along with gift bags containing puzzles, shoes and hats! Highly, highly recommend.

A family oriented hotel but also fine for couples. We stayed during October when most kids are in school and the hotel was perfect for 2 people without kids. The breakfast is fantastic and the location in Chiado is great. Be prepared to walk up and down hills from this location.

What an excellent place! We did not want to leave. If you have young kids but still enjoy boutique hotels this is the place for you. They have considered every need a family might have: from high chairs to bunk beds, changing pads, bottle warmers, etc. a kid center where you can leave your kids all day and babysitting services on top of that. The restaurant was perfect and really every single detail of the hotel was perfect.

I am not easily satisfied so the fact that I loved everything about this hotel says a lot I could. I could not find any faults.

Also the location was perfect close to the train station for day trips to Sintra and CASCAIS and also the time out market, the number 28 tram and so much more!

Loved everything about this hotel, especially the fact that they don't nickel and dime you about food. We were often too late for breakfast from sleeping in or too early because of an excursion, and they helped us so much by packing our breakfasts for us to eat in the room or on the road. They are so accommodating to kids and families - one of the most family friendly, high quality and supreme service boutique experiences we've ever had. Most Amazing Family Friendly Place

We stayed for almost a week and can not say enough amazing things about this place. The hotel is absolutely amazing for families and has everything you may possibly need. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable and they are very knowledgeable if you need recommendations. Special shout out to Rita at the front desk who went above and beyond every day to make us feel at home. The kids club is wonderful and our 4 year old twin girls did not want to leave. We literally had to drag them out of the kids club to go sightseeing they would have been perfectly happy to just stay there all day! Special shout out to Johny at the kids club who my kids could not get enough of and he was so sweet and kind they actually asked if we could take hime home : ) The location of the hotel is amazing it's close to a major train station that takes you to Cascais and also walking distance to many amazing shops and restaurants and the Time Out Market. Overall we loved it and would absolutely come back next time we're in Lisbon!

This is a concept that I wish would travel across the ocean. We stayed here for 3 nights with out family of four. We were in a room (apt) with a kitchen, washer, and every amenity a toddler could need.
The location was also great in the heart of Lisbon and the playroom and babysitters were the icing on the cake.
Would highly recommend to any family traveling.

Excellent place for families and kids

This is the best hotel that we've been to so far. The apartments are very modern and has every thing you can imagine for families with lil kids. A crib, bunk beds, a high stool, welcome packet for each kid, milk, juice, cookies etc. The full kitchen is certainly a bonus if you have specific dietary needs. We cooked food for two nights and the kids felt right at home.

The free day care and the toy room was so much helpful...cant imagine staying at a normal hotel after this. I wish Martinhal was in every major city!!

Location is pretty awesome...right in heart of historic Lisbon downtown...walkable to the Timeout market (farmers market and a food court with many local resaturants)

I would insist to any of my friends that they stay here if they are visiting Lisbon.

Staff was excellent, superb service and when we had a snafu with our dishwasher, the house keeping staff cleaned all our dishes (it was ultimately fixed as soon as they could.) Great suggestions on planni g our sight seeing...staff was very patient and helpful with all the \"tourist\" questions I had.

Wonderful hotel for both parents and children.
Well located in the city centre, close to some amazing restaurants. Our flat was fantastic very tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious.
Childcare is provided also in the evening. Special thanks to Eduardo who looked after our daughter very well.
We had a very relaxing time and will definitely go back again to the Martinhal Hotel in the future.
