This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. Nestled in the perfect part of Lisbon. The breakfast is absolutely impeccable and it is so close to literally everything in the city. Also, the best coffee shop outside - Senzi. Could not recommend this place more. The staff are also lovely.

It was weird that I couldn’t change out the beer in fridge for soda since I am allergic to ingredients in beer. It was also frustrating that the temperature of the thermostat could not be lowered as it felt very hot in the room , although I was left the window open and it was comfortable. Very nice birthday message written and bottle of wine , very kind and caring. Shower and bathroom was amazing nice towels beautiful shower and amenenties like a hair dryer w a diffuser. Snacks are provided and refilled. Also very helpful let me drop off my luggage before check in.

Overall a great stay. Breakfast is great! Location is perfect for exploring on foot. However, I recommend NOT paying for taxi service through the hotel. Uber is extremely affordable in Lisbon and our taxi (arranged by hotel) was 95 euros for 3 people round trip. Uber would have been a third of that price. Make sure to check out the MilkMan restaurant across the street!!

We stayed 3 nights but in 2 different rooms (as booked at separate times when we added another day in Lisbon) and both rooms were great. Oh and the blinds are blackout. Slept so well.

The hotel was in a really good location and close to many restaurants, shops and transport links. The room was decorated well and the amenities were good - really good shower with rainfall and detachable head! The staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet, whilst small, was tasty and topped up regularly. My only issue was with noise - I was at back of property so no street noise however the sound from other rooms above and beside did travel a lot. This is in a way understandable as an older building however as the rooms here are advertised as “soundproof”; this was louder than expected. Overnight this wasn’t too bad but maybe something to be aware of if you go to bed early or want a lie in!
Overall though I would recommend for a trip to Lisbon; it’s vibe and closeness to transport and amenities was great.

We arrived in Lisbon very early (630am) so understandably the room wasn't available until the stated time of 3pm. There was a lot of food options in the area for breakfast and dinner - nightlife in the pink street if that's your thing too.

The room was awkward with little counterspace, and having to walk over the foot of the bed to get to the other side, but that's part of the charm.

Breakfast is included which was delicious! The eggs benedict was a very nice touch!

Wonderful location to explore the city and close to the Time Out Market and lots of other lovely restaurants. The breakfast was really good, a choice of specials and coffee, along with a continental buffet. The room was ok, we were fortunate to be given an upgrade which was nice, it had quite a small bathroom and a bed that you couldn’t walk around so might be tricky if you had mobility issues. It was quirky though, which we liked, so not a problem for us. We would definitely stay here again.

The penthouse is very cool for big groups. I wish I had known that I would have the entire floor and planned for it especially bc we had a group of 10 staying at the property. The view was spectacular for the fireworks on NYE. However, the property can use a bit of updating. Considering we paid $880 USD including taxes for one night, 3 rooms at this property, not sure if it was worth it.

The staff are five stars. The rooms are a bit small but everything is clean. Great location. Loved being able to enjoy breakfast downstairs in the morning. We left my husband’s wallet and medicine in the room and headed to Barcelona. Everyone we spoke with was wonderful. They expedited the items to us which was amazing because without those medications we would have had to skip our cruise. Everything was returned to us. They are honest and were extremely kind. We will return to this hotel ( and will book a larger room!) So grateful.

Great little hotel in a great location. Rooms are small but very functional. It is on a busy road lined with bars and restaurants, so it is loud at night. We did not mind, as we went in November but might be something to keep in mind if you are visiting in the summer months. The hotel is opposite the funicular de Bica and we loved walking up to barrio alto every night for a little stroll. The metro is like 5 minutes away and you can walk to the center in like 10-15 minutes. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was great.

I recently stayed at Beca Hotel for a couple of nights with two other adults (wife and daughter), and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to help with recommendations and quick to respond to any requests we had. The food was also excellent, with a great variety of options for breakfast, and the quality was impressive.

However, the one downside was the bunk bed in our triple room. It wasn’t very comfortable to climb up and down, especially for an adult. It felt a bit awkward and less convenient than a standard bed setup. If you’re booking a triple room and prefer not to use a bunk, it might be worth checking if other configurations are available.

Aside from this, everything else was well-managed, and I’d still recommend Beca Hotel for its location, service and food, especially if the bunk bed isn’t a concern for your group.

The hotel is cute and clean, with excellent service. They have a great breakfast, though not enough seating. We had 3 rooms and one of the 3 smelled so bad that we came home with all our clothes smelling. They no longer do the mini bar but there is water and coffee in the rooms. The rooms are very modern and stylish but not functional. We had 3 drawers, one with a safe in it. There is no desk, bedside table or dresser to put anything on. Even our phones had to be plugged in to the headboard and set on the bed to charge. I ended up using a tiny step stool from the bathroom to have water by the bed at night.

From arriving and being checked in by an exceptionally helpful Nicole (helped us buy tickets for that evening's Benfica match). To leaving early in the morning after 5 very comfortable nights with a take away breakfast prepared for us to take with us.

Great location, close to excellent transport links which enabled us to get to Sintra and Cascais by train and walk quickly to many of Lisbon’s main tourist spots.

Excellent restaurant recommendations meant we had two superb fish based evening meals and the excellent breakfast was more than enough to keep us going through the day.

Would happily recommend the hotel and would go again in a flash.

This was a welcome surprise! I didn’t have huge expectations for my experience at Independente Bica but it was my favorite hotel stay by the end of the 5 day stay. The rooms were stylish and modern with Japanese styling. It was just me in the room which was plenty of space. My friends stayed in the hotel too and I saw their rooms. Each was well apportioned with great light and views. I stayed on the third floor which was Mateus themed so everything was pink. Two of my favorite elements overall: the Staff and the location. The staff were friendly and super familiar with the neighborhood and Lisbon. They gave us great recommendations and greeted us with a smile each time. There was breakfast service included each morning and a good wine selection for dinner. (The lobby is a restaurant btw). The location could not be beat. I was worried that we were not in the dead center of the city but our location ended up being on a super active party street. There were tons of restaurants, parties until 2a (June is party season) and ubers galore. We never waited more than 2 minutes. I loved walking to shops and dinner and bars. I don’t stay at the same hotel twice but I may make and exception for Independente Bica!

Myself and my two daughters stayed 3 nights at this beautiful hotel and I am so glad I booked it. The staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The room was perfect - quirky and decorated beautifully. My 25 year old picked the top bunk immediately and loved it!
What made this place so special and different from other places we have stayed were the extras. A cool Smeg fridge with wine, water and chocolate as well as tea and coffee. Even the wine glasses and pottery cups were beautiful.
They thought of everything and the chilled ambience downstairs serving the best breakfasts was such a treat in the morning.
The location was perfect, easily accessible to everywhere you want to go.
I did read some reviews previous to going on our trip saying it was noisy - but that didn’t affect us at all - but they even provided ear plugs if it had!
All in all a perfect place to stay. We loved Lisbon but the hotel made our holiday so special. Would highly recommend and want to go back!

If you have a car, park by time out market underground for 30€ a night as you cannot park anywhere around the hotel (not even to unload bags)

2 bathrooms, plenty of towels, good size fridge, the cleaners kept it super nice.

The location is super; close to the city, the ferry and trains to other parts of Portugal.

The welcome drinks were wonderful, the food in the restaurant including the included breakfast is fresh and delicious.

The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable.

The location is excellent and is located within walking distance to old town Lisbon and around the corner from the Time Out Market.

Very easy to catch a cab or a car.

But the best thing about this property is the staff.
Extremely friendly, lovely, professional, happy to help in any way.

I cannot recommend this property enough and we’ll be staying here again when we come back.

AMAZING in every meaning of the word!

Location of the hotel is great,right opposite 'Ascensor da Bica'. Room was just big enough, had a very practical and eye-pleasing design using every milimitre of space and thus was spacious for all 3 of us. Air-conditioning worked flawlessly and all windows were equipped with electrically operated shutters that sent the room into complete darkness with one touch of a button.All staff members we met during our stay were extraordinarily friendly, professional, helpful and kind.Breakfast offer only lacked one thing-tomatoes or some other vegetables.Other than that we couldn't be more satisfied and I have to point out Egg Benedict and Egg Royal that we looked forward to every single morning.Also,the a'la carte dishes were phenomenal (we tried 3 different dishes and they were all delicious) and the desserts were the best we experienced anywhere during our wandering round Lisbon.The stay had literally no weaknesses, everything was working like a well oiled machine. If we ever go back to Lisbon, and I truly hope we will, we will definitely be staying here again which itself is a testament of how good it was. Thanks once again and thank you for the lovely birthday surprise for our daughter. We were left speechless for a while!

The location is excellent, close to everything, one block from the Time Out market, and less than 10 minutes walk from the public transportation hub. The room is very clean. The staff is friendly and respectful. The free breakfast is above expectation, not just a typical continental breakfast often seen in the US. In addition to pastry and fruits (kiwi fruit, pineapple and orange), one can also order a hot meal among a selection of items. Definitely recommend it.

As soon as issues arise, you are on your own!
Every morning you’d need to wait 15 minutes (at best) for a waiter to come and take your order and serve coffee.
In room there were no standard comforts (milk/sugar/coffee?), no vanity kits.
It’s more like a hostel, not a 4 star hotel.
The reception is the restaurant, so as soon as you walk in you’re pretty much in the kitchen.
