Incredible visit! It was maybe the best part of our trip (it rained all week 😔).

Check in was warm, welcoming and efficient. The room was small, but sufficient, quaint, and clean. The staff are incredibly accommodating and breakfast was always warm, fresh and delicious.

We will return again, should another visit to Lisbon be in our future.

I could go on and on about everything I loved about my stay, but then you’d be here all dayz I loved the over night chia seed pudding and Greek yogurt options for breakfast, as well as the delicious pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice. While they have hot coffee available, they are also more than happy to make you a latte or espresso too! Everything I ate was wonderful. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and I loved my room. It felt like having my own apartment tucked away in Lisbon, with easy access to all of the best sights, restaurants and shops. I will come here over and over again.

I wouldn't stop here again next time.

We flew in from the US to Lisbon. The hotel knew we’d arrive around 10 AM and told us the room would be ready by 1 PM. Fine. We left our bags, went for brunch, came back at 1… not ready. 2 PM… still not ready. We were the only guests waiting, but they couldn’t be bothered to prioritize cleaning our room — just empty promises from a receptionist who sat there doing nothing.

To top it off, they sold us an overpriced airport transfer, claiming you “can’t” get there by Uber. Absolute nonsense — Uber is three times cheaper.

Yes, the room was clean and spacious, but the location is in a run-down, unpleasant part of the city. Overall? Not worth the frustration or the scam tactics.

What a fabulous hotel! Perfect location off the busy streets of Lisbon, all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, their breakfast was incredible. Had both heat and AV available - not always the case in Europe. I would highly recommend staying here.

Casa do Bairro is the perfect, cozy retreat for anyone visiting Lisbon. It’s placed in a perfect area, walking distance from the city core and transit, but far enough from all the night time noise. It’s unique look and aesthetic make it feel like a home away from home.

The staff are the best. Very welcoming, communicative, informative and kind. Coming back to a clean room was always a great feeling.

The breakfast was great with everything you need. The food is fresh from their own farms leaving delicious fruits and tasty eggs. The dessert selection is great aswell and there is a good variety of food.

If I find myself in Lisbon, Porto or Seville, I will definitely be back!

It was an ok stay, the room floor had hair and dust, so it was hard to say the floor was clean. The construction outside unfortunately made it hard to relax in the room during the day. Overall the bed was comfortable and clean, but I don’t think the reviews really matched up to how my room was, it felt outdated, and damp. I would definitely recommend a remodel to the place, it can also get slightly loud at night. Breakfast was amazing and very nice to be included.

Brilliant breakfast buffet, cleanliness and room service. Great location as well. A number of administrative errors including not being able to find our room booking when we initially arrived and mixing our rooms up with another party (which meant that our room card couldn't let us in on our last 2 evenings- resolved promptly by visiting the sister guesthouse, Casa do Patio up the road) detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay.

I had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. It was a great location for walking and also close to a Tram 28 stop, as well as other trams nearby. It was a 10-15 minute walk to a couple of metro stops too. The room was spacious and clean. The selections for breakfast were amazing, including a variety of breads and pastries with homemade jams; cheese, meats, and olives; cereal, yogurt, and fruit selections; various hot dishes and quiches; and juice selections. Coffee and tea are available and they also will make an espresso or cappuccino as well as eggs made to order. I’m glad I made the choice to stay here for my trip.

This is my ideal type of hotel. Small, friendly, and perfectly situated to explore the old part of Lisbon. It was a short walk from the railway station after our school visit, and an easy walk to all the main attractions and a wonderful array of bars and restaurants. The reception staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was superb. I only wish I'd had more time to savour their delicious pastries!

Loation is convient and service is good

The hotel location is not far from Metro, about 15 minutes on walk. There are trams stations nearby and it is within walkable distance to main sightseeing places. The attitude of the staffs are quite nice and breakfast is delicious. The only issue that I would like to mention is my room faces atrium which doesn’t mention in online room types. I prefer to book a city view room with higher price if I have known it.

Lisbon is an old city, and from the outside many buildings look in poor condition. Casa d Bairro is in an old part of town, but as soon as you walk in it’s charm is apparent. The rooms are very comfortable and bright. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. The breakfast buffet is amazing. The staff very friendly, helpful, and happy. Located close to the river front as well as many shopping, dining, and drinking options. It is located in a hilly area, may be difficult for some. We did all our touring on foot and found it do-able. Will definitely try to stay here again if we’re lucky enough to get back to Lisbon.

We loved it there! It was a very adorable, quaint place. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was lovely. The rooms were perfect for our needs. The only thing we didn’t love was the location was located in the middle of the hilliest part of Bairro alto so either direction you walk out the door you are either going down a steep hill or up a steep hill and cars cannot go down the street it is located on. Although the area is very nice and we felt very safe. Also, the place is a bit old and you hear a creaking sound when any one moves or takes a step. But despite those things, we absolutely loved it and would stay there again!

The staff were friendly, helpful, and the rooms were pleasant. The description did say it was in a pedestrian part of the city, and that the taxi could not come down the street, and therefore we had to walk a short ways to the hotel. However, it neglected to mention that the street is quite steep and cobblestone, and lugging suitcases up the street was difficult. Plus the hotel has stairs that you had to lug suitcases up and down. We found later that the taxis could come down the street ( I think if the hotel ordered the taxi for you ), and so the pick up from the hotel was easier. Nice rooms, good air conditioning (especially wonderful in the heat wave going on this July).

Although centrally located, the property cannot be reached by taxi or Uber. It's located on a very steep and narrow street that has traffic control poles at both ends, preventing all vehicles without a pass code button from entering. As a result, suitcases must be dragged about 100m up or down the steep street to an accessible street pickup point.

Another issue occurred when a false fire alarm went off at 4AM. Because no property employees reside at hotel at night, the residents were left to figure whether the alarm was real and how to deal with the alarm. The alarm rang for about 30 minutes until an employee showed up to turn it off. This prolonged the alarm annoyance and in a real fire situation, could have jeopardized the residents' safety.

The B&B was difficult to find and cab drivers could not locate this place on their GPS. Perhaps a map and directions on this B&B's website would be helpful for future customers.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. The hotel room was beautiful and spacious, we had a family room for four people. The breakfast was delicious, a lot of good things to eat. The only two minuses were that it was difficult to take the luggage to and from the hotel room due to stairs. It is not handicap friendly. And the Wifi was very slow many times.

Great boutique hotel in great Lisbon neighbourhood

Great little boutique place to stay in the historic and vibrant Santa Caterina district of Lisbon. Lots going on in this district. Staff were very helpful, even giving us a free extension of our check-out because our flight was in the afternoon. We were given a neighbourhood map and the person who handled our reception marked some restaurant possibilities on it for us along with other useful bits of info. Room was clean, quiet, comfortable (lots of shelves too) and relatively large with a view of the Tagus River in the distance. Breakfast was a friendly affair and choice was good. They cooked our eggs to order and in the style requested. This is one of several Shiadu properties in this neighbourhood. If this one wasn't available, I'd consider checking out one of the others.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa do Bairro and highly recommend any of the Shiadu properties! Excellent, friendly staff and the locations are perfect for exploring Lisbon. We were a party of 7 stayed in both of the Family size rooms. They were perfect to accommodate adults and kids!

This is a small, cosy, cute hotel. All people were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious and clean. Even though it was on the ground floor, we were not disturbed by too much noise. Breakfast is very simple and very delicious: all basic staff as bread, cheese, ham, vegetable and fruit; and in addition something extra like quiche or pie, and they fry eggs the way you like. Also, for me coffee is important, and coffee was delicious. Location is perfect: can do Lisbon on foot. I would come back to this hotel during my next trip to Lisbon.

Perfect in every way.

We were there for three nights, giving us just two full days in Lisbon.
Great location, we walked absolutely everywhere. The staff couldn't have been more helpful: travel advice and dinner and other recommendations. Our room was large with two full length windows looking down to the river. Great facilities, comfy bed and powerful shower. We were asked if there was anything that could be better and we couldn't think of anything.

Lovely, hard to find!

This is a hilly location, as is much of Lisbon. Once inside it is a very tidy, comfortable and friendly 12 room establishment. Ours was front, two queen beds, nice en suite, everything good. Breakfast from 8 was a spread with cooked eggs offered all in the price. You can make a hot beverage out in the breakfast / reception area anytime. They have an 'honour' bar, where you take your drink or wine and leave a note. The only caution is about the location - it is up a hill, parallel with the more main street and VERY hard to find. Knowing this will help you!

Great Location! Friendly and Accommodating Staff

I visited this hotel only for 2 nights on a brief stay in Lisbon. I found the staff to be more than accommodating and helpful. They helped to arrange both our transports to/from the airport, arranged massages, recommended local restaurants, and were just generally friendly and happy. The facilities were fantastic. Although the stairwell leading up to our \"family\" room were steep, the room was fantastic. It was huge with 2 bedrooms and a great view of the distant water and street below. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was spacious. My cousin and I were very pleased.

My only issue with my stay was the construction work that is being done currently right next to the hotel. It was just a bit difficult to find the entrance. I would say also that the location is not super accessible for anyone with any walking impairments. The only way to get to it is descending down a steep hill or ascending up a steep hill from the bottom of the street - both studded with slippery Lisbon pavement. I do NOT recommend any sort of heels or slick bottom shoes in this neighborhood; sneakers DEFINITELY.

Only (very) slight niggles were that shower door fitted poorly and our room had no view.
Everything worked perfectly.
The really big plus point was the staff. Their English and, as far as we could tell French, was excellent. Their knowledge of the city and region was first class and conveyed with real enthusiam. We visited Sintra and were advised that Quinta Do Relquario(?) was worth visiting ahead of the Palace - spot on. At Belem the food and pastries at Pateis de Belem were as good as suggested - we would have been put off by the queue but were told correctly that this was only for the takeaway. Plenty of other tips.

Great little guesthouse in the heart of Lisboa!

Lovely place, tucked away in a little street. Great location, fantastic room. We had booked a room with 4 beds (2 adults/2 teenage children) but arrived to find it was actually a type of mini suite, with 2 separate rooms sharing a bathroom - fantastic!! Very clean and comfortable.
Joao on the reception (who is multi-lingual) was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us lots of good advice and was very welcoming. Great guy.
Stay at this hotel - it's fab!!

Lovely family-run hotel

Very friendly staff, personal service. Room really lovely and comfortable. It was good to stay away from the tourist centre of town, and experience the real Lisbon. When we return to Lisbon, we will definitely stay at Casa do Bairro.

Very nice and charming hotel close to the center

I was very positively surprised how nice and charming this old walls can be - obviously refurbished this hotel was just what I was looking for! Very friendly and helpful staff and the room was just more than what I expected. Not so easy to find in the first hand but people outside would help out.
Only downside was that we didn't know that there is no late check in since staff would leave the hotel around 9 or 10pm. Luckily they called us before and we could find a way to still check in that night.
All in all super hotel - I will be back! :)

Great service and awesome location

Stay was very comfortable and the staff was extremely accommodating. I would recommend this for especially those who want to explore the Baire Alto area. Lots to do, so get crackin'!

Great stay!

Casa do Bairro is a great hidden-away little guest house that has very friendly and helpful staff, a nice little breakfast, and good rooms. I recommend staying with them or any others in the local Shiadu chain (I stayed at one other, Ribeira Tejo, which was also great)
