Great place to stay for a solo traveler in Lisbon. Great location, very easy to walk all over the city. Several restaurants, bars, and nice views nearby. Felt very safe in the neighborhood. The room was nice and clean. Friendly and helpful staff!

Consistently the best hostel chain I’ve stayed at; however be warned that in Lisbon they will not let you store your luggage (said the storage room is under construction). This was very difficult and unexpected in a hilly cobblestone city.

Room was clean and cute. I had private room with shared bath, and appreciated the small sink inside the room. Bathrooms were separate rooms from each other rather than stalls which was great. Rooftop bar is good and location in Lisbon is great - make sure you go to restaurants and bars on the small side streets after dark!

It definitely needs some maintenance. Photos on hotels.com are not accurate. Bed was very uncomfortable. The walls are literally paper thin and the music on the rooftop bar is bumping all night long. Would not recommend staying here unless you’re looking to party.

Very good place for a short stay in Lisbon. It is centrally located, in a nice area, close to many good shops, cafes, and beautiful sights. The only drawback is that rooms do not have air conditioning, which makes it a bit uncomfortable in the hot summer nights. Other than that, I think it is a good option.

The hotel was an easy walk from the subway and easy to find. Checkin was simple and quick. The pool area was quite nice and the rooftop bar/restaurant provided good food and drinks. My only negative critique was that our room had no a/c (a detail i forgot to check when making the reservation so my own fault).

There is some nice communal space, but no air conditioning so the room was hot to sleep in. They don’t offer any activities. But the staff were helpful. The location is not accessible by car, so you have to walk a little bit if you’re getting dropped off.

À plusieurs reprises j’ai réservé des chambres privé avec salle de bain privé dans des hostels de d’autres chaînes mais c’est la première fois que je suis déçue.

Premièrement le prix est trop élevé pour la qualité de l’hébergement. Le plancher est sale, il est gonflé suite à des dégâts d’eau, la porte est pourrie au bas, de la moisissure sur le cadrage et le mobilier très vieux.

Dans la douche il y a des produits pour le corps fourni mais c’est tellement douteux que je vous conseille d’apporter votre propre savon et shampooing (voir photo).

L’eau de la piscine semble sale, je ne me suis pas baignée, de toute manière il y avait tellement de monde qui buvaient, fêtaient, vapotait et fumaient dans la piscine que ça ne donnait pas le goût.

Pour le prix payé pour l’hébergement je me serais attendue à mieux, je suis consciente que c’est un hostel mais pour le futur je vais penser à deux fois avant de réserver la chaîne Selina.

This was such a beautiful and active property. The rooms were small, but had what you needed and were clean. My only concern was the shower drain was a little slow, and I loved that the power pressure was strong, but I was always afraid the shower would overflow, but it never did. I appreciated that there was an elevator so it’s nice if you have heavy luggage. It was a nice place to hang out, there was young people working on their laptops or sitting by the pool. The rooftop area was still under construction but it looks like it will be a great place to hang out once it’s ready. It was a nice view from up there. There was a community kitchen too. To come in to the hotel was our only struggle as sometimes cars are blocking the small alley street and its cobblestone just like everywhere else in the city. I honestly initially chose this place as I knew I didn’t want to struggle with all my luggage as most other places have no elevator and a lot of stairs. It made my life easier and on top of that was just a great place to stay. Also, they have cowork rooms and other amenities. So nice!

The place was very cute and it did have lots of nice features. However they drained the pool, and the rooftop bar was closed all of april. Something they didnt say nor write anywhere. It felt safe and clean, and although you cant have dinner there, the other food was good quality and a good selection of drinks. Overall Selina would be great if youre planing on spending most of your time in the city and just looking for a pretty nice place to sleep.

We had a lovely stay here. It is absolutely beautiful inside and so lush feeling with all the plants. It is in a very convenient area with many restaurants, cafes, and shops around. Also near Public transit. Check in and check out was easy and it's nice to have 24/7 reception. Room was clean and comfortable. Would happily stay here again if I were to come back to Lisbon.

Overall we had a brilliant stay at Selina Secret Garden. The rooftop bar and the breakfasts were a highlight. Think it might be the best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten! The room was basic but as expected. It was very clean and the shower was great, very powerful. Staff were all very nice. As other reviews say, very relaxed vibe. Location is perfect too!

It's cute and all but guys it's just not worth the price. It's still a hostel at the end of the day, it's just dressed up to look cute for instagram.. The shared bathrooms are kept in very poor condition and the check in process was unbelievably long. Nothing was horribly wrong, it's just that for the price, you can likely get a regular hotel room.

If they give you room 13, refuse to take it!! It’s right next to the restaurant and the door slams every 30 seconds and it is really noisy in the room.

Other than that, it’s a good choice property if you’re on a budget and would like an outdoor pool. The rooftop bar is also great.

The shared bathrooms for the dorm rooms were small and cramped without any shelves to put toiletries in the shower and only one of the two in the area where I was staying had a hook on the door. They need more hooks for clothes, towels, etc., as well as a shelf in the shower. Other guests broke the hooks on the wall in the shared room I was in on my first day there, but it was repaired in about 24 hours. Hotels.com does not mention that the coworking space is an extra €10/day if you want to use that room, which was frustrating because it was part of why I chose the hotel. The pool could use a cleaning, as there were piles of dirt/sand on the bottom in the corners.

This is a nice hotel, clean and quite comfortable, unfortunately it also has very cold rooms!
The rooms have no heating and no optional heaters are available, which in winter and if you end up in the top floor as we did, its warmer to be in the hallway then inside the rooms. When I asked about it, I was told that there is floor heating, but that it doesn't really work, and they do not provide portable heaters, so we we're basically stuck with a cold room. My partner already had a cold, and just got worse in this condition.
There should be more information when booking if the hotel has any heating in the rooms, as in winter its very cold and not a pleasant stay at all, unless you plan not being in your room at all.

No Air Conditioning in Rooms. Bring Ear plugs.

I ended up reserving this property solely for the fact that it listed A/C in its amenities. The rooms DO NOT have A/C, this is false advertising. I paid extra for this amenity and stayed farther away than I would have liked.

Also, this place is loud. You can hear people having conversations in adjacent rooms. When your neighbor's door opens, it sounds like your door opened. There's always some form of music playing that you can hear in your room.

Also, the shared bathrooms always had wet floors and the drains were clogged in one of the showers (gross).

Great but missing a few key things

The property itself is beautiful and the staff is lovely! The property is centrally located, walkable from the metro, and has a nice rooftop, restaurant with good food, and a pool as well. The staff really is very nice and willing to help with anything you may need. The wifi was good all around the property, although it seemed to lose signal frequently but would be back up after a minute.

CONS: I feel like Selina is missing KEY things that should set them apart from other hostels because of the price you are paying.
The rooms did not have garbage cans (only in the bathroom), and guests would leave their trash in the plants in the room or on the floor. The bathroom shower drain was constantly clogged and did not drain well. There is no hand soap in the bathroom - one of the most basic necessities to provide!!!
There is a coworking space on the bottom but that price is not included in the nightly room price - for 35 euros a night, I would expect to be able to use the coworking space that is on the property. The kitchen in both the coworking space and the hostel itself had dirty dishes piled in the sink - I would assume that guests would clean their dishes but it didn't seem to happen.

Not a bad place to stay but I got the feeling it's a work in progress. The room looked nice but because of the way the building is designed just a few people chatting loudly in the courtyard would reverberate up through the whole space and into our room on the 2nd floor. I felt like the room was a bit of a strange design, there's a big space for the sink yet it's actually tiny and pretty much useless to even clean your teeth. The closest bathroom to our room was closed off so we had to walk quite a way down the corridor to find one. Once the there the corridor light was broken so you had to wander blind through the dark after using it. The bathroom itself was also a bit strange, as the shower and toilet overlooked the swimming pool area with no curtain (I'm no prude but this seems fairly careless). The bed was another issue as it was incredibly creaky, if anyone moved slightly it was so loud and we were awake throughout the night as a consequence. The bar wasn't ready apparently and the whole place had quite a dead feeling, which they try to compensate for by pumping out tunes 24/7 on some cheap tinny speakers for some reason. Sorry but this place looked so much better in the pictures I had to write this as it was a quite a let down. I'm sure if they actually put the effort into keeping on top of maintenance and maybe having a bit more thought in their design process this could become quite nice place to stay.

Good areas to sit and relax, have a drink, or snack. Shared kitchen a real asset if you want to make your own meals. A pleasant environment close to many sites.
Mostly younger folks but we oldsters were tolerated well.

Room service a little iffy, and couldn't manage to get a trash can in the room despite being told it would appear.

Walking distance to Time Out Market, a dining experience while in Lisbon.

I was pleasantly surprised that my room with a shared bathroom actually included an ensuite bathroom and enough towels. The room and part of the bedding had a bit musty smell but due to the season I could keep the window open. I had to mop the floor on arrival as it was very dirty. Earplugs are a must as the soundproofing isn’t very good and you’ll hear (mostly pleasant) music from the rooftop bar. I didn’t use other facilities in addition to the luggage room. Location was good for my needs - not too touristy, close to public transport and most sights were on the walking distance.

Saubere Zimmer, etwas laut bei Zimmern zur Straße hin aber sonst sehr schön. Frühstück lecker aber wenig, Personal super freundlich.
