The location is good, the lobby is nice, but thecrooms are not well maintained, the beds lack privacy and are uncomfortable, there's no soap in the private bathroom, in order to get soap you need to go to the shared bathroom.

Staff are lovely. It is reasonably clean.
Price of a beer is excellent and the music in the common area is great.
Location is good.
The whole place seems a bit run down and in need of update.
My room, 102, was very tight. It is too crowded. Any time a locker is open it is hard to move. One shower is not enough for so many guests.
I felt that if there was an emergency it would be a disaster.

Stayed in a private room that was spacious and clean. Nothing fancy, but a great place to stay for a couple days. Good location, and the staff was friendly and helpful. One of the guys helped us carry our bags up and down the stairs to our room. Breakfast was a nice perk.

Lisbon is a very touristy city. I have expected the conditions of the hostel and to be fair the price per night was really cheap. I cannot comment to much about it. However, i will not say they had a fair cleanliness in their bathrooms. There isn’t a hair dryer in the bathroom the dorm i stayed. I will need to use the bathroom outside because of it.
And i understood my own personal belongings is at my own risk if i have not locked it. I ended up left the hostel with A slidder missing from the dorm. When i reported the issue to the receptionist, the first answer i got back was “Have you checked everywhere?” And next answer was “We cannot guarantee who stayed in the room won’t take it”. That was quite helpful!!

The location was perfectly central, just 15 mins to Rossio square from where trains go. The double room was generally ok. The sink was present inside the room which was very handy given that toilet and shower is only on floor. The staff was friendly and on the ground floor there were chairs to sit and games to play. Hostel is quite authentic with typical Portuguese elements like tile and cute little balconies.
However, one must take into account that the walls are very thin and every movement from the next room can be heard very well. Also, the breakfast was very modest, there were only fruits, bread, cake and nutella with butter. No cereals, no eggs, no cheese and no meat. There were 2 coffee and juice machines.

9 days at WOT Lisbon as a solo female traveller

I really enjoyed my stay at WOT New Lisbon and would recommend it to anyone who’s on a budget.

I’ve stayed in an all female 8-bed dorm and was very lucky to have amazing women share the space with me. Everyone was super respectful and mindful, had no issue with noise or whatsoever.
The bunk beds are good, the only minus is that the top beds have really small wall between each other - it should definitely be higher or there should at least be some curtains between the beds.
There are drawers available for each bed if anyone wants to unpack - worth bringing a padlock as there is an option to lock them.

The facilities are overall good. Bathrooms definitely need refreshing but they were kept clean at most times and stocked up. Kitchen is spacious and have enough room to store and cook food. The breakfast is very limited but again - I think considering a price it’s what someone signs up for.

The staff have been super friendly and helpful! It’s great that the hostel reception is open 24/7.
Also, the location is what won me over - super easy to get anywhere on foot (which is the best way to explore Lisbon), TONS of bars and restaurants around - literally being in the super centre of town. Close to train stations, buses, and a nice walk to the riverfront.
But be prepared to climb hills!

Overall, would definitely recommend :)

Staff was awesome and super eager to be helpful. Breakfast was meager…some fruit and bread and cereal…everyday they were out of something be it jam or butter or the coffee machine being broken, flies buzzing around in dining room was disgusting…bedroom was simple but adequate…we seemed to be the oldest people there…a lot of loud boisterous (sometimes too loud and boisterous) young people in groups seem to stay here…not really maybe the best fit for us but location was fantastic and staff was always nice. Also a lot of stairs…which would be good maybe again for young mobile people

WOT Hostel

A good value for money, close to many attraction in Lisbon. Unlike usual hostel, this one provides a buffet style breakfast, nothing sophisticated but gives you some fuel to start a day. A friendly staff, always happy to help you. A safe and quiet neighbourhood. If you don't mind staying in a hostel, this one is definitely the one to go for

Good customer service. Our private room was basic, but clean. We were next to the kitchen and dining hall, so there was noise up until about 11 pm, but after that it was pretty quiet. There is no air conditioning, but there was a decent fan. We were reasonably comfortable in mid September, but I can imagine it might not be comfortable in warmer months. We loved the part of town the hostel is located in, and enjoyed walking in the evening. Dinner at Lost In was really good, and they have an amazing sunset view over the city. Nearby was another amazing viewpoint with music and vendors by a beautiful fountain. We were glad we chose to stay at New Lisbon even though the price seemed high for the basic room.

Monastery with ballpool, what is not to love.

This hostel is in the centre of the old town, minutes away from beautiful old architecture, small bars and restaurants and the rest of the attractions. It is on a quiet street so i didn't hear any external noise.

The hostel was originally 2 lovely old monastery buildings, and stairs weave around the 2 buildings so its a little haphazard, but I see this as character. Note! this building is on a steep, bumpy road (but if you've done your homework, the whole city is like this!) and has no lift.

All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, and the hostel was cool. The city is great too, and I’ve already recommended it to others.

Depending on your outlook: shared dorms were cheap and cheerful, bathrooms plentiful. I also stayed for 1 night in a single room on the 4th floor - that is much more me!

Never knew I needed to play in a ball pool again, especially as apparently I’m as old as a grandpa 😃

Nice right in the middle of Bairro Alto!

Really nice place, close to everything that's exciting. Downtown is just a few walking minutes.
The down side this hostel is the noise. Guests tend to forget they're not alone and can get quite noisy and the floors get make a lot of noise and shaking on the beds.
The breakfast is fantastic.

Not clean at all, especially the bathrooms. The shower pressure was good. Old building. wifi was good. Very loud hostel. No quiet space. The location is good but there is no elevator in the hostel so taking luggage 2, 3 levels up is an absolute pain. Breakfast is so basic, juices are water down. Rooms are small, not enough space to store everyone's luggage. Never seen a hostel/hotel ask for a 5 euro deposit for room keys...that seemed pretty cheap to me. Will not stay here again.

Nous avons adoré cet endroit, atypique à souhait avec un personnel génial, souriant et emphatique.
Plein de possibles jeux pour les grands et les petits dans l'hôtel.
Hotel très bien situé dans Lisbonne.
Appartement correct, rien de spécialement extraordinaire, pas hyper propre, mais c'était seulement pour dormir alors pas trop grave.
Manque de fenêtres, et de lumière donc, dans l'appartement et un peu dans son jus, un peu vintage on dira maintenant.
L'entrée sur l'autre rue c'est étrange mais on s'y fait.
Par contre 2/3 SDF campaient devant notre porte...sympa le matin en ouvrant d'en voir un uriner et l'autre déféquer sans gêne sur le trottoir devant...

Super godt ophold. Dog blev vi fortalt om forholdene og reglerne med tjek ind. Ingen larm efter 22. Dog uden selv at lave larm blev vi holdt vågne hver nat af folk der skulle op af trappen hvor vi sov, folk der larmede, skreg, og ærlig talt bare forstyrrede. Stort og godt privat værelse for 2. Badeværelse super, og bruser kunne godt have været lidt højere.

Prós e contras do WOT New Lisboa

O local tem uma localização maravilhosa, fiz quase tudo a pé durante a minha estadia. O ambiente é limpo e a equipe receptiva. Basicamente os hóspedes em geral bem novos, então se você é +30 pode se irritar um pouco com a vibe festa, principalmente na alta temporada.

Mas o custo benefício é um dos melhores que você pode encontrar em Lisboa. Tive alguns inconvenientes de roubarem minha comida na cozinha, coisas de cozinha compartilhada, não é culpa do Hostel, mas sim das pessoas e acontece em outros Hosteis tambem.

As camas são ok e os quartos bem iluminados, senti falta apenas de um lugar mais adequado para trabalhar com meu computador e fazer minhas reuniões, pq o ambiente para convivência tem sempre som, então tinha que fazer na cozinha ou improvisar um canto no corredor superior.

Hébergement facile d'accès avec transports en communs à proximité et check in 24/24.
Ambiance sympathique, proximité de la vie (bars, restos...)

L'inconvénient de la proximité de la vie nocturne est que le quartier est bruyant le soir.
Petit déjeuner inclus, rudimentaire.
Malgré les panneaux partout pour indiquer le chemin à l'intérieur, personnellement j'ai eu du mal à trouver les espaces!! (Une porte sécurise les espaces pour femmes ce qui est un point positif mais cette porte ressemble à une porte d'appartement; j'ai mis du temps à trouver l'espace petit déjeuner qui est à l'étage dans la cuisine partagée avec lumières éteintes je me suis demandée si c' était bien l'accès accessible au public!)

La struttura si trova abbastanza vicino alle principali attrazioni raggiungibili a piedi. Complessivamente abbastanza pulito, le porte non essendo molto solide permettono di sentire molti rumori durante la notte. Sicuramente ok per un soggiorno molto spartano e senza grandi pretese.

Não tem toalhas nem lençóis, apenas o que cobre a cama. Edredom com algumas marcas de uso e sem capa também. Almofada sem fronha. Toalhas para alugar por 2 euros? Num custo de 48 euros por noite!?? Sem aviso prévio na reserva? Não volto, obrigado. A não repetir definitivamente.

Espaços aquecidos e limpos; ótima cama!

Interior tudo muito bonito, embora a configuração do interior seja quase um labirinto — o que dificulta se você se perde com facilidade. No entanto, cama super confórtavel (incluindo edredom e almofada, 2 tomadas e luz individual no canto da cama, o que foi perfeito), instalações aquecidas, bom atendimento. BWC bem limpo. A única ressalva que faria com relação ao BWC é que faltou haverem ganchos para se pendurarem os percences próximo ao toilet e ao lavatório. Como o lavatório é pequeno (sem bancada), foi necessário distribuir os pertences ao longo da borda, molhando tudo.
Com relação ao pequeno almoço é realmente daqueles apenas para não se sair em jejum. Não espere por algo a mais, principalmente se você for vegano. Senti falta de alguma fruta — poderia haver ao menos bananas. Não havia preocupação com o público vegan, opção de bebida vegetal (hoje em dia um espaço ainda não oferecer ao menos bebida de soja?), e informações sobre se o pão e os cereais disponíveis eram de origem vegetal, se a geleia e manteiga eram vegetais. Enfim, pude beber o café e comer uma fatia de pão — deduzindo que o pão fosse vegan (por morar em PT e conhecer um pouco dos tipos de pães que há por aqui).

The hostel has good potential but has an unorganised touch in nearly everything except cleaning staff.

The walls are paper thin and silence after 11pm does not realise. This is a hostel and even in the private rooms you feel like sleeping in a huge dorm listening to random stories and other sounds throughout the night will leave you with very little sleep. Bring your earplugs and a night mask.

Some of the paid staff (most staff seem to be volunteers) especially Miguel was professional and attentive and through these people you felt like staying in hotel, otherwise the feel is more like DIY establishment

Quartier plus adapté pour les fêtards et nécessite pas mal de marche.La chambre familiale spatieuse est à l'extérieur de l'auberge de jeunesse, coin pas très engageant.(Le lundi matin un sdf fêtard dormait devant nos fenêtres.)
Nous avons du tuer un rampant invasif ( blatte) dans la salle de bain.
Ensemble un peu vieillot comme par exemple une descente de baignoire non sécurisée avec des portes de douche ne fermant pas totalement.
Sinon, un espace plus que suffisant pour manger, dejeuner...
Pour finir, je conseille plus la partie centrale ( auberge de jeunesse) que cette chambre à extérieur.
