Had a blast, but facilities disappointed

We had an absolute blast, but I was surprised at how outdated the facilities were. We unfortunately didn’t get a room with a savannah view, nor did we get a multi-bedroom room, and in hindsight that was a big mistake, as our room ended up just being quite grim. We had to use the communal laundry facilities, of which at least a couple machines were out of order (so we had to wait hours). The bus service was reliable, but if anything at all went wrong, we’d end up having to wait for an hour+ to get to / from the properties.

The room is ok, the view is ok, but the hotel does not offer “Disney experience”, the service in the restaurant is terrible, breakfast is served by boxes “quick service “ , We had the unpleasant experience that the waiter dropped our breakfast on the floor, and he wanted to deliver it like this, we asked to talk to the manager and she did not offer any apologize

Very Nice Stay!

The only reason I wouldn’t stay here on a regular basis is that I wouldn’t want to leave my room. I loved getting to know the animals. The guide was so nice and knowledgeable.

They said they had room service but they had very basic food options that you need to get yourself. The pool was closed. And giraffes were not around like other reviews suggested. We did get a nice view of the “time out” animals. And the suite was lovely.

Very disappointed in the management. They were not interested in providing \"The Disney Experience\"
Roms cleaned only every other day. No fresh towel service and when inquiring at front desk was recieved by a compative front desk manger named
Erin.
We were told that maybe \"We were not ready to begin traveling due to Covid-19.
We had been there 2 weeks prior and have traveled to Disney 4 times in January and Feb.
Sadly, we enjoy Kidani and will not return for a while.

So much good detail.

The whole place was beautiful! From lobby to the hallway and inside the room. The furniture has s great touch and detailed design. Very clean room and very spacious.

I loved the animals and easy viewing. I didnt like that there were no streaming services in the room, no availability at the only restaurant SANAA. The room had a fridge that was not stocked with goodies or beverages. We had to uber eat. The pool bar only had 4 bad choices like bean salad or ceasar salad or hotdogs. It was too pricey to nit have better anything. Would jot go again at that price

I paid a ton for the room and when I opened the door it was a view of the parking lot . On the website it said standard view . I went down to ask about changing room to a view of the animals

Bad stay at Kidani

Bad experience! The staff was very uncaring, unhelpful, blase, ungracious, borderline rude at front desk and restaurant. Kidani is a DVC small weak replica of Jambo House (the first, main hotel). The tv didn't work. The room seemed very wornout and in need of a big spruce. We ordered takeout from Sanaa, and for a steak they only gave us extremely flimsy plastic utensils. No info was provided to enable identification of the animals. We have happily stayed at many Disney hotels including Jambo, all were so much better than Kidani, and we will never go back to Kidani.

Beautiful, spacious, clean hotel!

This hotel is gorgeous! The rooms are so big and pretty, perfect if you are traveling with little ones and they have a wonderful view! It has several view areas to see the animals of you don’t already have a savannah view in your room. They have good restaurants in location and a nice pool area. We loved it!

We stay in a rather dated room with kitchen. The whole building seemed quite dated as well. Space was ok, as well as clean bed linen and kitchen appliances. Quite disappointed in the availability of the restaurants at the hotel. Fully booked every night. Food by the pool was just disgusting and over pricy. Tasteless Sandwiches in plastic bags for kids and salad with a spoonful of beans for 12 dollars.

Need more elevators.
After walk 8 miles at theme park , you need to walk over 500meters on average to your room. With a toddler and a milliom things to carry. Could be better. 99% of guest are their with small children.

Nice hotel but the Expedia 2 bedroom suite is literally like a 1/4 mile walk from the lobby. If you drive a car there, the walk is a lot less.
But my real only complaint was the housekeeping. I had to call twice in 2 days to get a frying pan and other items and 1 day they didn't even show up to clean the room.
Besides that, the hotel wasn't that kid friendly as there was no activities, the pool was very small compared to the other resorts.

Great hotel for families. The 1 bedroom had a perfect amount of space and the ameneities were wonderful. The kids activities at the pool and the cultural exposure was like no where I’ve seen. Would have loved 2 actual beds, maybe a more comfortable Murphy bed instead of a harder pull out couch for the money spent. Overall a wonderful and magical trip!

The stay was lovely, staff are nice and well trained. Only issue was their valet service, they do. Or charge per 24 hr intervals - we were there for 2 nights and they wanted to charge us 4 times at $33 a pop - really need to work out their valet - making money from people based on if they are leaving for an hour or so - there was also a squashed bug on one of our rolled up towels in the bathroom. The pool area however was exceptional - lots of fun for the whole family

Beautiful!!

The Kidani village is great if you require studios or additional rooms. They come with everything you need and they are roomy. The savanna view is great and you get to see the “morning” excitement of the animals, my bunny and dog do the same thing at home. The only thing is that I feel is too big of a compound to enjoy, you need the bus to go back and forth between Jambo house and Kidani and even inside Kidani you have to walk quite far from the farthest (read best views) rooms to the various restaurants, laundry, community from and store. Overall, great resort and one I will choose over and over

Getting tired not worth the very high price tag

This hotel is not worth $1000+ per night. It is tired and needs a make over. Paid the extra for a Savannah view. Very few animals. Not worth It!

Over priced. The hotel condition is pretty poor, rooms weren't updated in at least 10-15 years, and you can feel it. Rug is dirty and smells. Some rooms are a 15 minutes walk from the lobby, is you walk in a decent pace. If not 20 min. Animals? There are very few of them, and it's not exciting as they advertise. Nothing really do to at the hotel. No restaurants, no bars, etc. It always amazes me how Disney hotels overcharge and give much less then the other hotels in the area.

First night we were there the sheets on the bed had buggers and also the towels in the bathroom, we had to ask everyday for them to make the bed outside like 5 times. Housekeeping told us they were under staffed and that was a problem . Rooms look tired and they are filthy. Never going back again.

The transport between Disney Parks could take up to an hour (I.e, waiting for shuttle, 20-30 min between parks). Restaurants at Kidani Village and Lodge were booked up every night; without reservations, you ended up with room service, which one night took 1 1/2 hrs. We started taking Uber to avoid the Disney Transport's long waits. Our visit was early Nov. I imagine it would be worse during traditionally \"busy\" times. My recommendations, get Fast Passes to avoid long wait times for rides, and make restaurant reservations if you want \"quiet\" dining where you can sit down, relax.

Wake up to all kinds of wonderful animals each day

Our family of four includes two adult children (18 & 20), so we rented the two bedroom villa with savanna view. We had an end unit on the 2nd floor (main level). We could see three areas of the savanna. Everyday we woke up to various animals - giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, various birds including ostriches. Many endangered species - too many to list. It was well worth the extra money for our family. There are many public viewing areas so if you are leaving the hotel before 7 am and coming back after dark you won't see the animals. The villa was well equipped and the only down side was the foam pillows. We were prepared for the long walk from our room to the lobby (1500 steps) that other reviews mentioned. This might be a lot for families with small kids at the end of a full park day. We liked the quiet atmosphere this location provided - being at Disney without all the loud and busy parts of Disney. Bus transportation was easy and convenient.

A perfect Disney vacation

My family had a \"magical\" experience at the Kidani Village at Disney's Animal Kingdom resort. Our two bedroom, three bathroom overlooked an African savanna. It was awesome watching giraffes, zebras and many other animals grazing outside our balconies. The villa was so comfortable and spacious. The pool area was terrific, especially for families, with daily activities and water slides. We really enjoyed the resort restaurants, both the exotic decor and the interesting food. This was a truly memorable experience.

Relaxing getaway inside Disney World

Although we go to Disney World for the fun and activities, it's nice to have a place that lets you wind down a bit too. Kidani Village is more laidback than some of the other resorts. There are fewer restaurant options, the hotel store is smaller, but then again, so are the crowds so in our minds it all works out. The pool is just as nice as the one at the larger Jamba House that shares this resort property with Kidani.

The hotel was amazing with amazing staff! It is the best place to stay with a larger group of people and do it with style. My kids loved the fact that they saw animals all day from our villa. Would never stay in another Disney resort other than the Kidani!

Buses at front of Kidani

The buses that shuttle peons to and from other Disney resorts park out front close to the rooms at the front of the resort. As the buses lower and raise they make a loud beeping sound, similar to a backup beeper on commercial vehicles. It is terribly annoying when you are attempting to sleep. They stop at 11pm plus/minus.

Not Worth the Price!

Room was a very very long walk from front desk. Only one resteraunt on Kidani Village property. There was others on property next-store. No way to get there but walk, if you feel like walking a mile or more. Tried to get room service and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Called again waited another 10 minutes and then called Front desk put on hold again to no avail. Had to walk to restaurant over 800 yards away to get something to eat after a long day walking around parks. At restaurant was given beeper and told 15 minute wait 30 seconds later it went off after walking towards bar. Definitely unorganized! Dirty room service trays left in hallway all day. Bed was not up to a premium property (very hard). Only view I had of animals was african cows. Very disappointing property! Over $700 a night on sale! Absolutely not worth the money! My wife and I have stayed at much nicer properties for far less. For comparison Loews Portofino Bay hotel at universal, way way nicer for half the price. Left with feeling that I had wasted my money.

Started seeing animals right away.

Good space for a studio, saw the majority of the animals in our one night stay after coming back from a Disney cruise. Some rooms can be a good amount of walking distance between the restaurants and pools. Nice to have the shuttle between the two resorts. Never had to wit more than 5 minutes. We would stay hete again.

A truly fantastic stay. Not only are you close to all the Disney Theme Parks, the rooms are also big and beautifully furnished and you can't beat the views of Zebra, Giraffe, Kudu etc. walking past your room all day.

A resort in itself

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa 2 adults 16 year son 11 year daughter. Fantastic - the room the savannah, the place is huge and you can enjoy so much of the resort itself without including the theme parks. The pool at Kidani Village is fabulous, never crowded, loads of water play areas and a slide. Campfire fun at night is brilliant, the restaurants are fab. The 1 bed savannah view is well worth the extra money as you can enjoy viewing the animals over breakfast lunch or dinner and we used the balcony loads, even though we are hardened theme park goers. We used disney buses and they go direct to their destination which is better than other disney resorts, although it takes longer to get to disney attractions. A really luxurious villa definitely recommended to suit everyone.

Grandson's First Visit

My wife and I, our 2 daughters and our grandson stayed for 5 nights at Kidani Village and it was wonderful as usual. We had a 2 bedroom, 3 unit that was perfect. Getting to the parks takes a little longer but the stay was worth it.
