Hotel was near two metro stations and within walking distance to Chinatown. We loved the cool neighbourhood which had the best bakery in Singapore Tiong Bahru Bakery.
We were upgraded to a bigger room, which was great. The staff also very kindly let us check out an hour and a half later as we had a very late flight.
If we come back to Singapore we will definitely stay here.

Would have liked an extra lock on the door, light switches were not intuitive, and there was a glaring light right in the eyes at night from the bathroom ceiling device. Luckily I travel with black tape! Other than that, it was uniquely designed and comfortable. Those were small issues and overall I would stay there again.

The service here was lovely but all those beautiful photos are from a bygone era. From the stains on the carpet in the common areas, to the plastic mat flooring in the rooms, to the electrical outlets taped over with electrical tape this place shows signs of utter disregard by the management company. I was absolutely disgusted and shocked to see an Ascott managed hotel in such a state. I do not recommend a stay here.

I had an amazing experience from check in to check out. I unfortunately lost the note with the receptionist that checked me in on the night I arrived (7 Oct 2024), but she was amazing. I was sorry that she had a few days off during my stay. I loved talking with her and she was EXTREMELY helpful. The other staff were helpful but it was something about her personality that made my stay more enjoyable. I would definitely consider staying here again. This was my first time traveling to Singapore and didn't know what to expect, but always made to feel welcomed.

1: Bathroom toilet was inside the shower without a divider so when you showered, the toilet got wet.
2: Bathroom had no counter so you had to leave everything on the back of the toilet, that was in the shower.
3: There was also no towel rack near the sink, so you had to hang wet towels on chair in sitting desk area.
4: AC in the room did not work too well and temperature would not go down pass 22 degree Celsius.
5: Bed was soft and lumpy. Back hurry after nights sleep.
We were only staying for a couple of nights so we just tolerated it.
I would not stay here again.

First, let me start with the good: the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was big, the bed was decent, and the AC worked. Now, on to the bad: the photo does NOT look like anything in real life. The floors were super hard and comfortable to walk on, there was a rollout bed just sitting in the hallway, there were stains everywhere, damaged walls, rust in the shower, the toilet barely flushes, and the walls were THIN. Most importantly, the hotel is not secure at all. Anyone can access the hotel after hours, and you don't even need your keycard to access your floor despite the sign in the elevator saying you do. I would definitely not consider this hotel 4-star. There was another comment describing it as a roadside hotel like in North America, and I wish I had listened cause this is exactly like a Holiday Inn or Motel 6. If you are looking for this type of accommodation, this hotel is for you, but stay away if you are looking for a 4-star hotel.

Stay was good ; and I appreciated the air conditioning though like most hotels, how to operate it was still bewildering. The hotel was fine, though the bed was on wheels so sitting down did mean it moved somewhat surprisingly.

If you want to stay a little outside the city centre then this hotel is quite convenient. The bus stop is right outside and both Havelock and Outram park MRT stations are an easy 10min walk. The taxi ride to/from Changi airport is a breeze as the hotel is just off the expressway and avoids congestion in the city.
The suites are spacious but it may be worth trying to get a room higher up. I was on the 2nd floor and the traffic noise was loud throughout the night.

The air conditioning didn’t work on the first night, which in Singapore is excruciating. They tried to fix it but then moved us to another room for the night which smelt stale. They took most of the second day to fix the room we were originally in, meaning we couldn’t easily access our stuff or change and basically had to be out in what we wore the previous day. I definitely won’t go back or recommend.

First of all, I would say this establishment seems & look like any typical boutique hotel based on photos. DON’T be deceived by the photos. The place had been rather antiquated and very little effort has been done to make it to function like a proper hotel.

Called house keeping ahead of time (About 3 hrs) to tidy up the room but they did not follow up until second reminder. Cleanliness of room is very minimal. Stains on chairs and tables had remained after cleaning. Sheets are not replaced everyday.
Amenities are facade. Gym is just an enclosed 300sqft room with no lighting fixtures.
“Rooftop bar” is also but a facade, nothing but closed off access to abandoned fixtures and tables. Most likely due to recent acquisition of the hotel by new owner.
Location is nowhere near anything fun or remarkable landscapes.
Only decent side is the rooms are fairly big. But they don’t provide the minimal standards. Come on, no water provided in the rooms.
I’d recommend not staying here and use your money for a better place elsewhere.
