The place is too old, lobby photo is the tricky part. Furniture in the room peeling, wallpaper on furniture shifted off. Lots of ants in the room, can’t leave food outside. The fridge not working well. Dust on the wall shows sign of never clean for ages. Curtain and carpet stains, quite disgusting the place. Internet very poor. I have no choice to move out. Have to stay til the end of booking. I chose this place because the photo looks like bright room and clean, plus the location is good. Overall, only location is good for me to go to work.

This hotel should not be allowed by any agency to work. It should be closed, sanitised and refurbished. We had bugs in bed and around the room, mold on the ceiling, water dripping in a corner, stains on the walls, the carpet supposed to be beige, but it was dark brown and sticky. Disgusting and dangerous.

Very small dated hotel. Staff not very helpful, had to wait until 3pm after a 13 hour flight to check in. Room was very dirty, dusty and smelled like damp.
Needed a good clean, I stayed there 3 nights, it was near nice food places very reasonable and near most attractions.

The property is not what it's being advertised. It looks nothing like the picture on the web site. The reception is rundown and the air conditioning unit was dripping water in the lobby. The carpet in the hallway to the room was worn out and have big patch of stain all over. The room is small the carpet is dirty and stained, you can acutely see the dust bunny at the end of the bed. The bathroom is old and the shower has mildew growing on the floor and walls.

In term of house-keeping, we were told that it will be serviced every other day (new green program) which is ok with us as we normally hang our towels and reuse them. however due the the tropical temperature we did take more shower than expected and by the third day we were in need of fresh towels so we place our towels in the bathroom sink indicating that we need fresh towels, house keeping did not get the message or did not care about our request, they simply folded our wet towels and place them on the counter.

Finally, I don't know how does the SG Clean folks certify their properties but how can you certify a property as sanitized when there is mildew growing on the shower wall.

All of this is to say, I would recommend that you stay way from this hotel even though it is in a very nice neighbourhood.

The management has to set a standard in cleaning along with their brand promise (SG Clean) and monitor the day-end checklist of the cleaners to make proper daily cleaning is to be maintained.

The hotel was affordable and easy to find. Staff were friendly and professional. The rooms were tidy and the amenities were fully functional. All the basics promised were there, so it's worth the price paid. However, the bedsheets and carpets had very clear stains in them so it wasn't super clean. You have to keep relogging into the WiFi too. I didn't mind, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Overall a pleasant stay :)

This was my second stay, the room was much smaller than the room I experienced the first time, and the TV channels were limited, for my first stay, the TV channels had more options which included Chinese movies channels. The room looked old and needed some painting. Guests were only provided with 2 small tubes of 2 in 1 body gel & shanpoo.

Good value for the money in Singapore

I stayed in New Cape Inn for 5 nights on two separate times. My overall feeling about the hotel is great.

The location was perfect for my needs: there are many buses stopping near, and two MRT stations too. There are also a few nice restaurants, 7eleven and a food court right next to the hotel.

The hotel is good value for the money in Singapore: if you are on a budget, it's a good choice. It is a bit worn out, but the room was spacious and very clean. We did encounter some problems with our first room, but the hotel staff worked them out and we left with a good feeling about the hotel.

The bed was really big and comfortable. The location was not far from the bus or subway stops which made traveling around the city easier. The room was decent in size and cleanliness, but the bathroom definitely had some mold on the shower curtain. The room smelt really bad and we had to get a machine in to clear out the smell, which we were told was cigarettes. The water pipes made really loud sounds at random times throughout the night. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and went above and beyond to aid us.

Not many hotels within this price range has a king-sized bed option. They give you 2 types of pillow to choose from - a soft fluffy one and a harder one. Room size and bathroom size is larger than what you’d get in Singapore for this price range.

The only key flaw is the plastic blinds used to cover the glass bathroom isn’t well-maintained - looks rather unsightly and gives off an unhygienic feel.

Room was larger than what you’d normally get in Singapore. King-sized bed was really comfortable, large windows gave the room enough light during the day. Shower area was separated from toilet with a glass partition.

However, air conditioning took a while to cool the room. We were on the 3rd floor but you could hear noises from the highway / streets.

A bearable stay

The condition of the room is is old, the window cannot be fully closed, the carpet is old, the aircon dripped water. The plus point is that the room and toilet are spacious and bright, Chinese movies channel is also available. Outside the hotel, there are lots of good food within walking distance. Avoid my room 301, as it is just next to the lift, could be noisy when people talking loudly at lift area.

But the main issue is the hotel staff is very very very rude. I have invited my two guests from Myanmar over to stay here but they were left with bad impression as the staff scolded them.

On monday 12 Nov 2018 at about 5 plus pm, the lady staff on duty was smoking right outside the lobby door with the door open. My guest hates smoke smell and he told her not to smoke there or go further and close the door. Instead of walking further away as per singapore rules on designated smoking areas, she turned around to scold my guest instead. She was very fierce and defensive.

This is totally unacceptable for a service staff.

I shall not add on what we saw when she chased away guests who need help with check ins from the counter as she feels \"pressured\".

The service provided here if i were to rate it, it will be 1/10.

Hotel is close to eateries and transports which is convenient. It'd be better if the hotel also provides teabags. The bathroom doesn't have soaps which is a bit disappointed. However, the shower room has shower head from the ceiling which is fantastic, in addition to standard wall-mounted taps. Overall the room is of good condition and spacious. I like it.

The room is reasonably priced and spacious. Basic necessities like shower gel & drinking water are also provided.

The room insulation may need improvement as shouting from the corridor can occasionally be heard within the room. There is only a staff at the reception, leading to the slightly longer check-in. Overall experience is still pleasant.

Above expectations!

I requested a quiet room and they delivered, I chose the hotel as location was close to meetings for the week. For a budget hotel this was great value for money and recommend to couples, families and business travelers.
The local area is a little distant from MRT station and found using a short bus ride 2 minutes from the hotel lobby was simple and efficient.
The areas is old residential Singapore, much quieter than newly developed districts and found one or two wonderful little cafes and restaurants.

The shower had mold on the ceiling. The rug had stains (as if it had never been washed). The cups had the coffee stains. The chair had a cigarette burn and the curtain was broken. And all the walls stained everywhere. The location is not the best. The subway is abour 15 minutes walking (1,2 KM). I would never stay or recommend an hotel like this. This hotel does not deserve not even one star.

Location ok and relatively quiet area. Room size ok. Acceptable price for Singapore. Free open parking available (behind building not really nice)But old building and refurbishment is really needed. air conditioner vent covered in black mold !. two separate ceiling corners in the bathroom covered in black mold! curtains filthy! bed linen yellowed and had brown dried stains on them! bath towels yellowed! its a non-smoking floor yet all we smelled was cigarette smoke, and our room had an ashtray in it! wifi weak.
I paid upfront on Expedia but never heard back from them when I emailed them with my complaint!

Very run down, poorly managed hotel, not a 3-star

One of the worst hotel experience in Singapore. Not a 3 star as advertised but more like a seedy motel for hook up and one night stand where drunk people check in late in night for a few hours' stay. The price is 3 star though.

The bathroom has big time blotches of mould on shower curtain and the ceiling. Towels feel dirty, the bedding has disgusting stains. The walls are stained with dirt marks and the curtain and windows has so much dust and the carpet is sticky on the feet.

The front desk is run by 2 staff who must be very unhappy about their jobs. They are not rude but was never helpful. When requested to change a rusty kettle an even rustier one is given. They keep calling you early in the morning though, to ask if you need house-keeping on that day because it's not done regularly but sub-contracted out to some part timer on piece work basis. When asked for slippers, USED disposable slippers are given, they have other hotels' name on it and could well be recycled ones!

The hotel was under some renovation work the whole week of my stay, drilling noise starts 9 something every single day.

The worst hotel I have ever lived in. The window was locked and no fresh air. The room was not clean at all, there were cockroaches in the bathroom, and there was a footprint on the pillow. It is cheap but also very bad experience! Never come again!

The hotel quite near to thiong Bharu market, where you can find a lot of food. There is vegetarian store as well. The hotel is not near to the outram mrt as describe. It was around 15-20minutes strolling. The hotel wall have some cracks but still safe. There are no breakfast provided. Basic toiletries were provided but no slippers. I am overall satisfy with the stay with the price.

Food court at 200 metres tiong bahru market open whole day. New cape inn is definitely value for money. I had a great stay and cannot fault anything. Very bad hotel for the price I payed. NEVER stay here!!! Blood spot on the pillow. Dirty carpet, I could not walk anywhere in the room without shoes on. Dirty dirty curtains, dust and hair everywhere. Bathroom was ok compared with room but careful with shower hose was broken. Old hotel and when we arrived there room door was open and AC was off. It was so hot when we entered. Took like 45 minutes to cool the room. Be careful with the door, you have to pull it hard if not it would not close. What is anything good about this hotel??? This hotel is rated 3 start. NO WAY!! Terrible stay:( I will never every stay at this hotel. I would chooese Fragrance hotel in Galang overs this hotel lol that bad!! STAY AWAY!!
