The room was clean, but there was an unidentifiable smell in the bathroom which was off-putting.

Staff are friendly and accommodating.

There is a couple of convenience stores and bus stops within a short walk.

The lighting in the room was very dim which did make it hard to see some things.

Staff was pleasant and eager to help, from helping to get our bags into the building, giving a map to find low cost luggage, changing our room to one where we could use the elevator ( no elevator for first floor rooms) to calling a cab for the airport. Thanks

Check in staff were amazing. Hotel and room immaculate. From cleaning staff to restaurant staff all were very friendly.
Only two little gripes
The metal bar was missing from fridge door so couldn’t stand anything up
After returning from the military tattoo it would have been nice to settle down and have a drink in the bar but it was closed - a thought for the future perhaps?
Overall a great experience this is our third stay here and will always return

Good location in city center and my stay included breakfast. The room was nice and clean. The only draw back is that parking was not included but it seems no hotels in downtown Auckland include parking, it was an additional $30 which was better and other places.

When we booked the hotel we made sure there was 2 Queen beds and a sofa bed as there was 3 people staying. The first night after check in and getting back to the hotel we realised the sofa did not fold out into a bed. We alerted the 24/7 check in desk and they were quick to resolve the issue in the middle of the night.
Overall it’s a nice hotel, it’s quiet, not too far of a walk from the sky tower and other attractions. The hotel had its own private car park, gym, smoke room and restaurant. Everything was clean and tidy.
For a budget friendly stay I recommend Auckland City Hotel

I really appreciated that my room was ready early, which made check-in super convenient after a long journey. The hotel is in a fantastic location, walking distance to many sights, shops, and restaurants. The SkyBus to the airport was only a 5-minute walk away, which was a big plus. I do wish there had been drinking water available in the room, but they did have some available in the bar area. Overall, a great stay in a very walkable area!

We arrived on a Sunday evening and the restaurant and bar were closed, which isn’t mentioned anywhere. The staff on the desk wasn’t forthcoming with any suggestions. Which meant going out in the dark to search out some food.

Across the road is City Mission. They care for and feed, every day, the too many homeless people of Auckland. Majority are men.
Loved my stay. Sunlight was beeming into room as a welcome, upon arrival. AND NO PLUG IN HAND BASIN, again, like last year. I need a plug to wash my contact lenses

Beds old and uncomfortable. When booking for three you should be told that one bed is a sofabed before booking and paying. Also before booking, should be told treat car park is on a first come first serve basis and also it’s going to cost $30.00 if you get a hotel car park. The site only says car park available. I think I have been wrongly charged.

The rooms were so small that you couldn’t open your suitcase. The bathroom was slightly larger than an airplane bathroom. It was a 2story room and the stairs were dangerous. The bottom floor was freezing. We had no washcloths the first night. The parking was narrow and hard to get into. The beds felt like trampolines. The pillows were lumpy. The tv downstairs did not work. The neighborhood was sketchy but close to the CBD.

Great hotel, average breakfast service

They accomodated an early check in for us as we were attending a wedding shortly after original check in time which we appreciated. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. 2 bedroom apartment was comfortable and lots of room, separate heat pump/ac in both bedrooms. Central location. Rude man at breakfast reception, had already prepaid for breakfast when booking through hotels.com. He ignored me when I told him we had already paid and continuously asked how I would like to pay. Then said we could not eat. I showed him my app that said we had breakfast included and again he ignored this. I spoke to reception and also showed them my app confirming breakfast and they apologised and let us go through. We finally got in to breakfast at 9.30am and there was no milk left for cereal or in the coffee machine. Most of the food warmers were almost empty as well. There were still at least 7 tables of people in the restaurant and eating breakfast. They should have still been refilling food at this time but clearly did not want to be there nor wanted customers who had paid a lot of money to eat there. Would stay here again without hesitation but probably wouldn’t book breakfast again.

Hotel is near the Sky Tower which is convenient if you’re travelling from Auckland airport. It is also within walking distance to the main shopping area and the harbour. There are many restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and willing to hold our luggage after we’ve checked out. Only thing to be aware of is the city noise. The windows are not thick so you can hear traffic and noise from the streets below.

Staff was very accommodating and kind. The room was quiet. Access control to the building after hours was easy.

Two of us stayed and we were given one key card, which was fine until one of us decided to go out to get food and had to take the key - which we needed in room for power - leaving the other occupant (literally) in the dark. I recommend getting at least two cards of 2 ppl are staying and there is even a remote possibility of someone wanting to stay behind for any reason.

I would stay there again and would recommend.

Business trip for one week

At check-in they ignored the extra benefits from my booking with hotels.com but offered 1.5 of them (free drink and later check-out although very slight) when taken up by the manager. The room was very noisy and a little dirty. I was offered a room change and would now make this my regular Auckland hotel if I could be guaranteed that room location on any of the top 4 floors. Staff after that were amazing. Greatly appreciated.

Other than the friendly welcoming staff i wouldn't recommend. Terrible bed which lead to a terrible sleep. Mattress needs to be changed, out of share, soft with no support, uncomfortable restless night.

Comfortable stay with accessible location

Great stay. Location of the hotel was good - it was close to the Sky Tower bus terminal and there were two supermarkets nearby. The staff were very nice and they offered me early check in on the day of my arrival. The room was clean and tidy. Overall a comfortable stay.
