Needs an upgrade from rooms to dining. Staff not helpful and wanted to charge 400 rupees for drinks which we didn’t have. Did not replace towels, had to go and ask every day. No phone in the room, physically had to go to reception. Not much choice in the buffet. Would not recommend.

Proximity to the sea -shore was appealing. The food was well cooked. There is need to change the bed it is very uncomfortable and the linen is of poor quality. The furniture is also of poor quality. Need to provide water and body lotion even at a cost. Mosquitos were a nuisance, they can be controlled by spraying. It does not make sense to run a hotel without wifi facilities for guests. Most guests are business people who want to do business while at the hotel. This was a huge let down because wifi was available at the reception so one had to go to the reception area to access wifi. Remember people are prepared to pay for good service.

Lovely stay at the Cocotiers Hotel – Mauritius

A great little hotel right on the beach with the dining room open to the beach. Food and service were very good, room was cleaned every day, wifi was very good. The hotel is a little isolated so really need a car to go out and about.

I saw a mice the night I checked-in just in the front desk, because it’s a kind of outdoor area I think. and a cockroach in my room, so I didn’t feel good at all. But Big thumbs up with for the beach and pool though. The staff is great also.

Our stay was really a pleasure, price-wise is a lovely place where to spend your holidays close to the beach. Just to note that we had a technical problem with our room but manger gently upgraded with one in front of the swimming pool, much appreciated, thanks!

Wifi is unstable and there was no water for one night and the morning after that cos the pipe broke. The fact that I had to go to sleep without showering after a whole day out ruined what would be a good vacation.

good rooms, but worst behaviour by Staff.

The welcome by the reception was good. The rooms are clean and comfortable. But some of the officers working at the restaurant as well as at the reception are very rude and they absolutely don't know how to treat guests, especially Indians from India!! (they forget that 68% of the mauritian population are Indians). They don't even keep coffee cups (or tea/coffee packets) or water in the room, and we were asked to go to the restaurant to get it. The food at their restaurant is below average. Our advise, especially for Indians, is avoid this hotel completely....

Cocotier Hotel Review

Hotel in need of renovation including room which was supposed to be one of the best. Place was at least clean and an attractive setting on the beach. Beach was not usable as covered in broken coral rather than sand. Pool out of action for the first 3 days of our arrival.

Main problem of residence was wild dogs running around the pool, gardens, dining room, drinking from the pool and defacating on the beach. Staff, including security, showed encouragement to the dogs rather than deterring them from the premises, which was totally unacceptable.

We were expecting to be able to choose our evening meal from an A'la Carte menu, but instead we were forced to eat a buffet selection which was full of veg and little edible meat at a high price. We could not go to nearby restaurants as the nearest was a twenty minute drive away. Breakfast was also very poor with mouldy bread on several occasions and food selection running out.

After suffering ten days of wild dogs with no action from the hotel, We spent two days of our holiday travelling around other hotels to find alternative accommodation. We checked out with nearly two weeks of our holiday paid for and no refund offered before we left Mauritius. Expedia are working hard to assist us with our claim.

Average small resort, nothing special

The hotel is only OK, nothing exceptional. I suppose for the relatively low price, it's good for a small resort-type hotel. Buffet breakfast is the same every day, French style never with any meat. The waiter said the milk is made from powder, therefore it varies from watery to thick depending on the day. Cheese at breakfast and dinner is the cheapest processed cheese slices. Coffee is like brewed water. Wi-Fi in the rooms varies from non-existent for the whole day long to superfast at other times... Worth paying EUR 15 extra for the larger, cleaner seaview rooms with a much bigger bed and nice view. Garden rooms are small. Neither of the 2 rooms had a decent permanent Wi-Fi signal. Dinner buffet was OK but nothing exceptional, tended to be oily. Meat was chicken and fish (usually dorado) every day except on Diwali when there was also lamb. Pork sausages were served once at dinner. Desserts were mostly stodgy baked pie type, French style. The beach is quite rocky immediately near the hotel. Walk a few minutes to get to the sandier parts. Nothing at all around the hotel; closest supermarket was a 45-minute walk away towards Port Louis, but the road is very dangerous (narrow and little or no footpaths). Better to wait for the cheap regular buses instead. No restaurants anywhere near the hotel. It's a \"stay inside the resort\" kind of place. There is a \"boat house\" with snorkels, pedalos, table tennis bats/balls, etc. for rental but they had no licence for it and it closed down.

Disappointing start but improved with room change

We arrived to a room that backed onto a noisy road, looked out on the back of another building and most disappointing, had not been cleaned properly. The next day we were moved to a room further away from the road and that was more quiet, cleaner and with a view of the pool. The staff at this hotel are absolutely lovely and are one of the best aspects of this hotel. The other positives are the beachside pool and the half board option with great meals. On the down side, in both rooms the bathroom screens flooded the floor with water whenever we had a shower. Also there is no ceiling vent in the bathrooms so the windows are left permanently fixed open. There are no screens on the windows so this lets ants, flying bugs and geckos into the room (hopefully the geckos eat the bugs but we were a little concerned about mosquitos). The rooms are not very well sound proofed so we were serenaded through the night by fighting dogs and nocturnal roosters who don't seem to know when dawn actually begins.

Right on the beach with really beautiful view of the ocean. Really Helpful staff.
Breakfast was Average. Nothing Special but did the work. Rooms were little smaller compacted to there properties.

Love Les Cocotiers

Les Cocotiers is a small and friendly Hotel and the staff are dedicated and professional. Our room directly overlooked the beach and pool with a view to die for. Nothing was too much trouble (i.e. kettle in the room when requested/local information etc.) This is not a 5 star establishment but does not pretend to be. If you want to get away from the crowds this is the place to go. Breakfasts were lovely and dinner in the evening was plentiful and varied - maybe not to European tastes but I did not book a gourmet break. Plenty of pluses and no minuses for us. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Hotel Cocotiers - pleasingly adequate

We selected this well-priced hotel as it was centrally located. This allowed for easy use of our rental vehicle to see much of Mauritius in 6 days. Although without all that a luxury hotel may additionally have, the friendly, helpful staff, the good kitchen, the adequate spa, the relaxed facilities made for a lovely stay.

We had a pleasant 3 nights 4 days stay. Basically it is in the middle of nowhere but there are local buses to Port Louis (1 direct bus) and Grand Baie (2 buses). It's simple to go about and people are very helpful.

We opted for 1/2 board and that was a perfect choice as there was no where to eat other than the hotel itself. The food is simple but good. Would recommend strongly.

A pleasant and relaxing stay at Les Cocotiers

We have spent 11 nights on HB at Cocotiers and have had an enjoyable stay overall.
Looking at the 2 * rating at first have made me think that it will not be very nice for a family retreat but actually everything have turned out to be pleasant and convenient.The location is on a main road and this must be considered if you have plans to travel around.Our purpose of the trip was to get around the beautiful island of Mauritius and we have compromised on the accommodation so that we can hire a car and travel around.Every day we have been amazed by beautiful beaches and we were very pleased and happy to return to our peaceful accommodation at Les Cocotiers.The place is very peaceful,the green plants and palm trees in the gardens of the hotel are excellent and well kept.
I will give 4* to the excellent Cocotiers staff,you are all fabulous people .Being on HB we have enjoyed delicious meals every day.The restaurant has a very nice view and amazing sunsets.It was all very quiet at night and pleasant.The beach is not suitable for snorkelling as it is close to the port and not as nice as other beaches nearby but if you have a car you can get to a nice beach easily.
Nice atmosphere ,pleasant and relaxing sea view,kind staff,excellent cook preparing delicious meals so overall it is a very nice place.

Friendly, tranquil and very cosy hotel.

The staff were very welcoming and you can arrange all you need to do from the hotel. It was a good base for visiting the island. It is not 5* and you should go to the Sands, Oberoi etc if you want that, but it is far less tense at Les Cocotjiers and the whole experience was very touching.

Great Value option for Business travel

The low star rating I gave this hotel isn't really fair, but the fact is this is a 2.5 star hotel. Its not the most luxurious, modern or comfortable and the beach and neighbourhood aren't great, the wi-fi is dodgy especially in the evenings when I sense it gets overloaded by guests, but for all that I will stay again.

What this hotel is however is clean and tidy, with excellent service and very competitive rates. To give you an idea of the service, I only got to the hotel late on my arrival day, but they had kept a plate of food from the buffet back from me so I could have some dinner. That had never happened for me before.

The hotel has easy access to the M2, and is only 10km north of Port Louis, so it is in a very convenient location. Also, if you follow the road directly opposite the hotel entrance which leads away from the beach there is a large supermarket in a mall with a food court only 4 km down the road. If you have a car its very quick and easy, and means you can make use of the fridge in your room for drinking water etc.

Overall I believe this hotel offers much better value than those in Port Louis, and is perfectly acceptable for a business stay.

Le Cocotiers - a gem of a place.

It was an awesome week. The hotel was very nice, only a few small changes could be made to better the experience. 1. the shower curtain in the bathroom needs to be replaced by a proper door, 2. they need to have DSTV with English channels on. 3. breakfast could be more than just omelettes or different types of eggs, add some sausages, flapjacks etc in some times and WOW, they should really look at dropping the prices on their drinks at the bar. Even a small 300 ml coke costs around 110MRU, whereas at a local supermarket, a litre of coke is 30MRU. but in general, would I stay there again, YES. it was my birthday on the Friday and they surprised me with a cake name on it and all. this was very special as we did not advise them so they do have attention to details like this.

Great location, food and service

Would just like to compliment the hotel for their great service. Our stay at Cocotiers was really enjoyable. The rooms were clean, comfy, and well equipped. The grounds were spotless, and waking up to the view of the sea, was breathtaking.. The food was yummy, and entailed a good variety and a taste of local cuisine. This is a perfect hotel for relaxing or using it as a base to explore the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this hotel. For the price paid, it was defintely well worth every cent.

Very nice hotel close to Port Louis, just 10 min by car. The restaurant is located close to the beach and It has an amazing view of the sunset where you can relax after coming back of all of the activities that you can find in Mauritius. The staff is really welcoming, allways there to help you and make you feel like at home. The room was big enough and clean.

Decent hotel for a night close to St louis. Good service, and a pretty good breakfast with the view on the bay. Unfortunately you can also see the ships on the way to Port Louis harbour (not so romantic). The beach is not among the best in Maurice. But for quality price it's worthing it.

Sejour correct mais directeur non professionnel

Ayant réservé au dernier moment, nous avons pris cet hotel car disponible. Le Check in etait prévu pour 14 heures mais en arrivant on nous a obligés à attendre 15h00 faute de personnels. Aucun cocktail de bienvenue. La chambre etait correcte avec vue mer sauf la salle de bains tres dégradée. photos jointe. Le soir le repas bufet a été correct et a partir de 20h00 une ambiance musicale Dj etait en place. Etant le soir du réveillon de Noël, tout les clients on commencé à danser, lambiance etait joyeuse mais A 22h00 la musique a été coupée sur consigne du nouveau directeur. Les clients etaient stupéfaits et mécontents. Je precise que la plupart des personnels de l'hôtel sont charmants comme Criss ou Marie mais le directeur n'a fait aucun cas des clients ni ne leur a même souhaité un bon Noël. Le lendemain matin de nombreux clients se sont plains au directeur dont moi même. Celui-ci tres désagréable n'en avait cure et il a même avancé qu'il n'étai as plus motivé et quil attendait juste sa retraite prochaine. Donc hotel à éviter si vous souhaitez une ambiance lors des reveillons et surtout si vous etes Français metro ou reunnionnais. Il fait apparement beaucoup plus d'évènements privés en semaine pour rentabiliser et en plus au detriment des clients de l'Hotel. Donc hotel 2 etoiles correct mais mal administré et les sites reserveurs doivent influer ver la direction generale des cocotiers pour retablir un management et respect plus conventionnels des clients. Arrivée vers 14h, heure du check in indiqué, mais la chambre etait encore en cours de nettoyage. Nous avons récupéré la chambre vers 15h après être retourné à l’accueil.
La chambre était plus ou moins propre, avec peu de wifi et une mauvaise insonorisation (nous entendions nos voisins)
Évitez le buffet, plus cher qu’un bon restau en extérieur.

Bon rapport qualité/prix. Dejeuners et diners bien, le petit dejeuner pourrait avoir un peu plus de choix/quantité (les leve-tard n'auront plus grand chise). Prevoyez absolument votre adaptateur car pas de prises continentales (etonnant pour un hotel dont la clientèle est tres francaise). En dehirs ces 2 choses tres bon séjour pour lebprix et la proximité avec port-Louis si vous y travaillez. Cote plage pas vraiement le lieu ideal pour se baigner (roches et oursins) mais on peu quand meme pratiquer standup paddle, pedalo, kayak gratuotement (!) Et la piscine de l'hotel est tres correcte. Bref je recommande pour un sejour entre amis si vous avez une voiture et voulez rayonner, ou travaillez sur Port-Louis ou encore n'avez pas le budget pour les 5etoiles des localites plus touristiques

Un petit hôtel magnifique, on vous accueille avec un petit cocktail, après 24 h de voyage c’est le paradis , j’ai été malade pendant mon séjour (pas de bol) j’ai eu droit à des grogs , des thés pour le rhume directement dans ma chambre et même un massage de l’esthéticienne du spa ! En bref , je me suis fait chouchouté ! Le personnel est bien plus qu’accueillant, ils est parfait !!! N’hésitez pas, nous avons passé 10 jours excellent 👌

Le décor de la petite plage et du tour de la piscine ainsi le jardin sont magnifiques et propices à la détente, au dépaysement. Pour la baignade dans le lagon, beaucoup de coraux, peu d'eau. Il faut aller sur d'autres plages si on veut profiter du lagon.
Le pédalo et le kayak sont en fonction des marées et des jours de travail du responsable de la boat house et le paddle est trop dangereux au dessus des oursins et coraux.
Le personnel est absolument adorable.
Les salles de bain des chambres sont à rénover.

Die Bilder vom Hotel sind schöner wie in Wirklichkeit. Der Strand ist sehr klein und voller abgestorbenen Korallen. Man kann nur mit Badeschuhen baden. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein und minimalistisch eingerichtet. Das Bad lässt echt zu wünschen übrig. Es ist sehr alt. Wir haben über eine Stunde auf unser Zimmer warten müssen, obwohl Check in ab 14 Uhr ist. Wir haben uns sehr unwohl dort gefühlt und sind nach einer Stunde wieder abgereist.

La chambre où j’ai séjourné avez magnifique rien à dire c’était sublime face a la mer et aux petits bateaux de pêcheurs.Par contre il ne faut pas être à cheval sur la propreté des joints de la salle de bain noir. Le mobilier blanc n’est pas entretenu noix aux endroits de passage armoire table de nuit table. Les draps pas vraiment nette en blanc gris mais bon on peut pas tout avoir. Sinon le service des Mauriciens n’est pas à revoir ils savent recevoir. Par compte pour la C’est quasiment impossible car il y a des récifs pour aller très loin.

Petit hôtel sans prétention mais le principal est là : lit confortable salle de bain correcte, piscine, petite plage (beaucoup de coraux prévoyez les chaussures de plage), restauration du soir sous forme de buffet (bien), snack le midi, animation en soirée, personnel très accueillant et aux petits soins avec la clientèle. Wifi disponible dans tout l’hôtel. Un peu loin de tout, il faut prendre un taxi pour se déplacer.
Terrasse des chambres très petites , manque une petite table.

Prima te vertoefen!

Cocotiers is een mooi kleinschalig hotel, personeel heel aardig, goede bedden.
Beveiliging over het hele complex, omdat het nodig is vooral na zonsondergang. Er word dan ook aangeraden om niet de straat op te gaan muv een taxi.
In de buurt is niets te doen, dat is jammer, maar naar een ander restaurant met de taxi is goed te doen. Ook met de bus naar Port Louis was prima! Zo kom je onder de bevolking.
Een positieve verbetering zou zijn, dat er geen honden op het hotel terrein en strand worden toegelaten. Aangezien ze hun behoefte doen op het kleine strandje.
Vlak langs de kust kun je snorkelen op het koraal, mooie visjes te zien. Wel aan te raden om waterschoenen te dragen.

On a prolongé notre séjour suite à la satisfaction que nous avions du début. Rapport qualité prix toujours au rendez-vous, staff toujours aussi agréable, buffet très bon le dimanche soir.

Excellent rapport qualité prix

Séjour très correct. Staff très accueillant et sympathique. Restauration très bonne. Buffet sans exagération mais savoureux. Confort de la chambre basique mais il ne manque de rien. Hôtel idéalement situé dans les environs de Port-Louis.

Si c'était à refaire, ... on y retournerait ...

Besoin de repos dans le calme, en bord de mer avec suffisamment de confort et sans sophistication, nous avons atteint notre objectif. Loin des grands complexes hôteliers qui ont dérobé et privatisé les paysages magnifiques connus il y a 22 ans, les Cocotiers restent au cœur de l'ile encore authentique sans être trop éloignés des sites à visiter ni des commerces, et les transports sont faciles. Le rapport qualité/prix est au rendez-vous, le personnel est sympathique et compétent, bref si nous devions le refaire, on ne changerait rien !

Gemütliches kleines Hotel direkt am Strand

Wir haben die Näche zur Hauptstadt genutzt und waren mehrmals in Port Louis. Auch die Nordwestküste ist von hier gut erkundbar, z.B. mit den öffentlichen Bussen.

La colazione in riva all'oceano, con una quantità di uccellini che cinguettano e zampettano tutto intorno non ha prezzo. Posizione ottima per essere riparati dai venti e per visitare comodamente il nord dell'isola. Cibo molto buono e vario. Personale molto gentile e disponibile.
