The room was clean, the staff was friendly and eager to serve, the parking lot was very accommodating, well maintained, and well lit. The breakfast menu was great the first morning but to our disappointment was not the same menu on Easter Sunday. We enjoyed our stay, visited the zoo, went to the movies, which was within walking distance. The location was perfect as it was close to so many adventures. If we choose to visit the area again we will definitely stay here again!!*****

The reason I gave a poor rating was for a few reasons. First of all, the guy working check-in mumbled and would not make eye contact. Not a great first impression. Second, or bathroom sink had terrible water pressure, it a just above a trickle. Finally, and probably the most irritating was at breakfast. It went from 6:30-10am and we got down there about 8:30. The coffee cups were gone, the paper plates were gone, bagels were gone, they only offered mini pre-made veggie omlets and a sausage patty, and they were out of of the omelets. It appeared that they only had one person running breakfast which was not enough. They did have one waffle maker, but at that time there was a line to use it and they only offered a specialty Churro mix (not just regular pancake mix). I normal have good experiences at Hampton Inn, but this was NOT one. I will not go back to this location.

Front desk was friendly, I love the mobile key. Room was clean yet dated. Only complaint was breakfast. What a letdown. Huge area for waffles with signs but the lady said “I got tired of hearing people complain about them sticking because the Teflon had worn off so I got rid of them”. We stayed the next 4 nights right next door at the Fairfield. It was $3 more a night with a giant breakfast selection. I was so glad we switched. I also did not like the amount of people who were hanging out in the parking lot here. They opened their hatch and just hung out there. This was all afternoon and early evening. Lots of staff outside smoking right by where you walk in.

So apparently if you reserve a room they don't reserve the room. When I arrived at 11pm, tired, with hot food and ready to eat. I was informed they did not have a room for me. Said they only had 1-2 rooms left and they were king suites. Mind you I reserved a 2 queen bed room, due to splitting the room with a buddy. I was told the king suite is an upgrade.....yeah if I only needed one bed. Its not an upgrade when I need 2 beds. 45 min later to no avail I had to accept the single bed room. Luckily another buddy had gotten a 2 bed room and was able to accommodate one of us. Be that as it may, it does not make it acceptable that I reserved a room and it was not reserved for me. I don't care what 3rd party app I use. I expect to get what I paid for, not an alternative that doesn't work.

Many things went wrong with this stay, but the biggest thing was the complete disregard for privacy and safety, as housekeeping entered my room without knocking or notice. She said she thought the room was vacant after looking at her clipboard. A second huge thing for me is that I ordered connecting rooms, and I specifically picked the room numbers on the Hilton Honors app. We didn't get the connecting rooms. In fact, one of the rooms was on a completely different floor. On another note, the room wasn't even ready at 3pm. We had to wait to check in, approximately 3:15pm. The blinds were also broken in my room, and the room had almost no water pressure for the sink. We had to use the bathtub to wash our faces. On top of all of that, the mini fridge was not working. The ice tray that was presumably supposed to be filled with ice, was filled with water instead.

had a early check in of 2 and was not ready. The at three the room was not ready so we had leave for our event without checking in and being able to wash up. The same for our son, daughter and grandsons two rooms. Very disappointed. Also when we came back in the evening/dark out, our grandsons bedside lights did not work nor did he have a lamp to turn on the room lights. Maintenance needed to be called. Unfortunately, we will not use Hampton Inn again.

The room was wonderful. The gentleman that was at the desk when we arrived was overwhelmed. Some of the rooms weren’t ready for people. I’m glad everyone kept a cool head and didn’t get upset. He was doing the best that he could considering the circumstances. Probably need to hire some more housekeepers so the rooms are ready for check in time.

We had a one-night stay at this property. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were nice. Plenty of parking, right outside the main entrance. Breakfast was not as good as other Hampton Inns I have stayed in, but that was a minor detail. Coffee was delicious! The area this hotel was located in seemed very nice, with a lot of shopping and restaurants close by. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Just a one night stay in GR. Our son moved to another part of town so this was our first time at this Hampton Inn. The front desk staff was courteous and thorough at check in. We had a small problem when we got the single king bed room reserved by our other son instead of the 2 double bed room we needed. The lady at the desk took care of it right away and with ease, no problems! Room and bath were clean. Didn't get to the pool but it was open. Breakfast was top notch. Hot and cold items. Plenty of tables for a crowded Sunday morning. Will DEFINATELY come back the next time in GR!

Stayed on 19th of June! My room was dirty. Was awaken at 8am of someone trying to get into my room. Yelled that I was in there. They came back 10 minutes later, asked that I had to go to the front desk. Got dressed, went to front desk. Apparently I wasnt supposed to be in that room that THEY put me in. Went back to room and decided to leave since I was up, realized I dont even have a shower curtain, so no shower for me. What a ShitShow!! Avoid this place like the plague!

While our room had a view of a concrete wall (no joke!), we had to switch rooms because we didn’t have the pullout sofa we reserved and the pool was not in service (should Hilton not lower the price for a subpar room/service or give us credit toward a future stay? Remember when companies worked hard to keep customers happy?), we had a good nights sleep.

Everything was ok. I just felt like the continental breakfast was not enough for everybody. I woke up at around 7 before 8 to get breakfast and there is barely any warm meals, there is no batter for the waffles and no sausage/bacon. I ask for a refill for the food but they only refill 2 small cup of batter for the waffles not even checking if anything else is empty.

I was told the room had two queen beds and a pull out couch in the other living area. There were aunts all over the floor by the door to the pool. I saw a mouse running around in the basement by the elevators and went under the door to the equipment room. We stayed in room 517/T17.

Staff seemed put out during check-in. Hotel was loud. You could hear everything outside the room. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was lackluster; out of coffee, orange juice and egg option the majority of the time offered. Took away the waffle maker at 9:15, leaving little to choose from. You had the choice of a green or red apple for fruit option, one of each total. Understand the hotel was busy, but the service and what what’s advertised/options were subpar and lacking.

We booked a room with a sofa bed for our eldest child but didn’t have one so ended up sleeping 3 to a bed (would have complained and moved but had already unpacked the babies things before we realised). Room was right next to elevators so children were disturbed all night because of the beeping noises. Then we went to the pool in the morning (one of the main reasons we booked this hotel) and it was freezing cold so couldn’t be used, was told we could use sister hotel so got kids all packed up in swimwear then the sister hotel pool was closed!

We needed to find a room in the Grand Rapids area to have a scheduled surgery the next morning. I wanted to find something at the best price without compromising #1 cleanliness, #2 quiet and cozy, #3 breakfast for my amazing husband and driver, and #4 location and parking. The price was great! Everything was very clean, rooms, beds, bathrooms and the common areas, lobby and breakfast area. I'm not sure about any pool or fitness areas because I didn't look around. Bummer I couldn't eat before surgery because they had those western and cheese omelettes I like lol
I'd definitely stay here again

Was less than thrilled with the room. It didn’t appear the bathroom was cleaned before we got our room keys and we found that out the next morning when I hopped in the shower and saw long black hair in the shower on the shower curtain, shower wall and bathroom sink. A layer of dust was visible on the shelves where they placed the folded towels. Our room was on the first floor, and you could hear everyone’s doors on the second floor and all around closing. It sounded like constant loud slamming doors. I think it’s that their doors don’t close easily so people have to put force into them. The heating and cooling unit in the room made a constant clicking noise which was disruptive to sleep. Also, the pool was closed for maintenance, but there was/is nothing on their website that says the indoor pool was closed for maintenance and that was a large reason we booked a room here. I got a couple texts from the front desk, checking in on our stay and I messaged them about the issues we experienced while we were there and even sent photos of the nasty hair around the bathroom and nobody responded. Completely unacknowledged us. I would not return to this hotel and I’m disappointed I wasted my money on a less than enjoyable stay

It was nice that they let us check in early, but they gave us a room with 2 queens, instead of a king. And there were some surfaces in the room that were not cleaned (full length mirror for example)

The girls at desk were great but the hotel is outdated and our king \"suite\" was nothing more than an open room with an uncomfortable sitting area. You cannot see the TV from the bed nor is it a smart TV. The room we were checked into the first night, smelled like stinky feet and didnt feel like it had been thoroughly cleaned. The front desk was able to switch us into a different room on night two, without hassle, which was nice of them. My husband and I come to the area (from out of town), once a year, for Christmas shopping. Its our one wknd away per year, without our kiddos and we look forward to the hotel stay. We wont stay here again in the future.
