Arrived after a long day to be greeted by an annoyed and rude front desk employee who practically just tossed the keys at us and told us to sign. “Your room is somewhere down there” and walked away. Entered the room and immediately noticed it was not well cleaned and had moths in the room. The bathroom floor was filthy, the shower was dripping. We tried to ignore as much as we could and got some sleep. The only bright side was a kind breakfast attendant who helped my daughter and checked in on us. The pool area had not been cleaned. There were food wrappers and boxes and napkins sopping wet from what must have been a group the night before. We have stayed at many Hilton properties and will never again stay at a Spark.

I can overlook the chipped paint, the sketchy elevator, but what I can’t get over is the rude staff. You could tell that they didn’t want to deal with people! Check in was blunt, short and not welcoming at all. Then an employee yelled at my kiddos for running up the stairs even though I was with them the whole time.
I will not be returning to this hotel. And for what it’s worth we come to this area EVERY year!

Stayed here overnight for a show in downtown Grand Rapids. Hotel was very clean and price was reasonable. Breakfast has quick grab and go options like bagels, toast, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Location has easy access to freeway. Would stay here again

The breakfast was okay. A few choices of dry cereal, bagels, boiled eggs, and yogurt. Typical breakfast but can make do with something. Sometimes the elevator wasn’t working and took the stairs which was fine for me but may not for others.

Parking was easy, but a small lot. The room was quite nice, very spacious for the price. When we had an issue the lady at the front desk was wonderful and helped us out right away. But a different lady the following morning wasn't great. She didn't seem to want to help us with anything and was on a personal phone call the whole time. The breakfast was bad. And the elevator... I honestly thought it was going to crash down while we were in it. Worst elevator I've ever been in

I travel a lot for school, and this was by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in. My room was very clean with new appliances. Very friendly staff that coached me, a San Diegan that’s never driven in the snow, on how to drive in the mess of a snowstorm they had hit.

The experience was terrible, the heater was broke in the room. The thermostat wouldn’t go above 65. They had no maintenance to fix it. We put the sign out to clean our room and they didn’t clean it. The entire stay. The room was extremely dirty, and there was tape from a previous Resident left on the walls. The fan in the bathroom squealed went on. They didnt have coffee 2 out of 4 days in the morning.

I did not even stay. The hotel was gross and majorly misrepresented online.
Dirty room, the curtain looked like someone took scissors to it. The clientele looked like they got out jail. I didn’t feel safe so I left!

The only issue was the toilet wasting water and running the whole time. Had to shut the door to avoid listening. Tried to fix it but it was a bad float valve. room 101.

The morning I was to leave, I needed a window scraper in the morning, as it had snowed crustily on my rental vehicle. The front desk did not have one but the attendant gladly offered to retrieve one from their car. While they were gone, I discovered the rental had one. The attendant is very thoughtful. I should have food harder!

My family and I recently stayed at Spark. We had such a nice experience. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was perfect and I loved the little ideas they had for making a fun and tasty breakfast. Our room had half of a set of fresh towels. There was a dirty wash cloth hanging on the bathroom wall hanger. The elevator sounded like it was about to break every time you got in to go up or down. And the pool had a ton of dead bugs floating in it, along with a condom that floated up after my youngest had jumped in. I notified the front desk about all issues, trying not to complain, but nothing was done and i was way overpriced for my disgusted stay. Very disappointed to have waisted be entire paycheck there trying to visit my son in college out there. This is 3 and a half hours from my home. I was hoping for just a little bit better than a condom in the pool and dirty wash cloth hanging in my bathroom. Then being told i had to wait for clean wash clothes that were supposed to be brought to my room, but never were.

Didn't get in until midnight, since we had a wedding and couldn't check in early. Had to parknin the back of the building with no access key and walk around the front of the building to get in. Suit was drenched. Room was 80 degrees and the AC didnt work well enough to cool the room to the desired 65 degrees I out the thermostat on. The \"breakfast\" was cereal and bagels. It was clean and someplace to sleep. Just dont expect more than that.

The hotel was easy to get to. There was a McDonald’s, Starbucks, and gas station within walking distance. Plenty of dining just a short 5 minute drive away. The beds were amazing! Our heat didn’t work, and staff came to fix it but it still didn’t work after it was “fixed”. Breakfast was enough, but nothing special (bagels, boiled eggs, muffins, and juice).

Arrived at desk at 5PM to couple on 1st floor reporting room just assigned to them had \"soaking wet carpeting and several fans running while smelling of urine\", and a 2nd couple reporting \"stained sheets and 3 bugs\" in their room upon their arrival. Per desk clerk all rooms had been booked so unsure of resolution by management. Window in front door was dirty.

Our 2 queen bed room had no coffee maker, no cups or glasses, no clock, no phone, no comfortable seating, stained dingy wash cloths. Pillows were poor and breakfast options limited.
AC and fan, shower and hairdryer worked well and it was quiet, but overall a poor value and we will never return.

The rooms were not ready for many guest when they arrived. They gave us a soon that smelt like urine, Floors were soaking wet and it had many fans blowing. They put us in another room that had a bad odor, Many rooms near us had barking dogs. The continental breakfast consist of cereal, a few bagel and a few muffins, There was not enough to accommodate the guest. If you are not down there by 7am when they put the food out-You will not have anything. The elevator is sketchy and extremely loud, We thought we were going to get stuck a few times.

1. Elevator floor filthy.
2. Elevator is very frightening. Very noisy and it shakes as it is moving up.
3. 3rd floor hall carpet is very old and dirty. (I can see that it is vacuumed often but needs a good cleaning or perhaps it should be replaced.
4. Ran out of breakfast foods such as coffee, butter, creamer and milk, etc...
5. The bedding seems clean however, it looks old and worn.
6. There weren't enough towels for 2 people. We were told that guests had been stealing them, so they're aren't enough. (How about buying new ones?)
7. Upon entering the room for the first time, I realized that there was a bath towel that was damp and had a hugh stain on it.
I must say that the staff was very nice and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, I also noticed that there is not enough staff. The morning manager was running around doing all the jobs by himself.
I had a few more issues but I think I've said enough to make you understand.

The hotel main areas were not that great- wall paneling broken, carpets dirty, wall paint peeling, old elevator that sounded like it was going to break down. The room was clean enough- bed was clean- entry floors had a few spots and could have used a mop upon entry. The location was out of the city enough it felt pretty safe.

The property had just been updated October 2024. It was very clean. The bed that we had was somewhat hard though.
The room was very clean. However, it was very basic. There was not a coffee pot, or an ice bucket, or even drinking cups. There was coffee in the lobby though.
They did not have the small sizes of the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. They did have larger bottles that were attached to the wall by the sink, and also attached to the shower wall. This was more convenient than having the tiny bottles.
Overall, we really like this property. We will definitely stay again.

From the moment we walked in the floors were filthy, and sticky. The elevator floor had filth caked in the corners, but it looked like the floor had been mopped with dirty water and left to dry- and it smelled. We go to our room and my 4yr old plugged his nose and said it stinks. I believe the floors were damp and musty as my socks became wet if I walked on the floor. There was a nicotine pouch stuck to the wall. The air conditioner didn’t work and was loud on and off all night. I turned the bathroom fan on and the air circulating reeked of weed. Some of my neighbors forgot they were in a hotel and kept us up most of the night. When I checked out the staff was apologetic and gave me point for a free night stay- but you couldn’t pay me to go back.

Very clean hotel. Close to the expressway depending on what side of the hotel you are on. Nothing turning major just turn up the tv a bit. Excellent service from the front desk representative Steven. Basic breakfast, but free breakfast is free breakfast. Only thing I didn’t like was house keeping knocking on my door at 9:45am asking if I’m checking out when checkout time is noon. Air conditioning a little on the noisier side but could be the room I was in. Other than that every thing super clean. Walking distance to a gas station to run and get snacks and also a McDonalds

Highly wouldn’t recommend they said check out was at 12 o’clock. Noon I left and came back at 10 AM and my room had already been cleaned and the general manager Steven Poelman informed me that just because checkout is at 12 that doesn’t mean they start cleaning rooms at 12. They start cleaning rooms at 9 AM and I did not inform them that I was leaving overnight and I should have told the front desk that I was leaving for a few hours and coming back when I asked where does that state at in a policy he told me it was common sense. All my belongings was taken out of the room and when I asked where my things were, he said he doesn’t know things end up escalating. I called the police to retrieve my things and I still did not get all my belongings. Don’t stay here unless you want you privacy invaded!!!

The whole hotel could use a very good cleaning. Our room was very loud. I am not real sure, but I think that maybe the air conditioner was making banging noises all night, and our window in our hotel room was cracked.

But the thing that worried me was when I was checking out, a patron was complaining to the checkout clerk, that one of the side entry doors was open all night. He claimed that at midnight, he had told one of the staff about it, and he found that the door was still ajar when he woke in the morning, He claimed the staff never fixed the unsafe problem.
