Not at all as pictured. The photos included in the advertisement are not at all how the hotel looks. The rooms were very small. The shower didn't drain at all and brought up sediment from whoever showered previously to us. They were also very understaffed from what we saw. They had one (very kind) woman running the front desk but also two other hotels at the same time?? But that being said, the area was very quiet and the staff was very kind and helpful when needed. If you're just exploring Savannah, it's a good place to just go and sleep. Even with all the cons, the staff and the proximity to Savannah make up for it. A good place to stay for a weekend in the city. Only 15-20 minutes away from everything.

The whole facility had a musty odor. Outside smelled like cooked cabbage. The room had dirty floors. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything happening around you. The A/C did not work well. We had it set to 68 and still woke up sweating.

We pulled into the parking lot and immediately felt uncomfortable. There were not many cars there but the ones that were there were occupied with construction workers enjoying the end of the day with some liquor. All the stares made us very uncomfortable because we were 4 ladies only no men. We didn’t stay there we ended up booking at a different hotel in the historic district which was very pleasant.

Property was clean. However, our room had a very strong musty odor. You can tell it was clean, but I’m not sure if it’s the supplies they are using or what- my nose was burning. Bed was pretty comfortable. WiFi worked great however only one tv channel worked and every other one was spotty and said “inclement weather”. I knew the breakfast was limited just didn’t think it would be like it was. A waffle maker with no syrup and oatmeal with no hot water. The only other options were mini muffins of white toast with butter and 1 kind of jelly, or cereal. I went with cereal and it was stale.

The female receptionist was very helpful and courteous, but other than that not a lot to impress in my stay. The room was OK, but in need of some serious TLC (coffee machine and light above the bed not working, no plug in bathroom sink, toilet seat loose, whole apartment needed painting). The furnishings in the bedroom were passable. Very limited breakfast choice. I reported the main faults to a man on reception, who said that they would be passed to the maintenance team, but nothing was rectified in my 3 night stay. Not impressed.

When we checked in they gave us a handicapped room despite us not reserving a handicap room. We asked to have a regular room and the black female receptionist said that because we booked through Expedia that Expedia gave us a handicap room.

Next, our towels were very dirty with black stains on them. The breakfast was horrible and tasted as if they we from the previous morning and just reheated for the next day. The walls a very thin and you can hear people beside you in other rooms. Someone had a dog four rooms down and you could hear the dog barking. You could also hear the person above you talking. The bathroom door would not close so that you can lock it. Someone else’s belongings were in the drawers from the previous stay.

Overall, the location is not in the safest place and appears to be in a deserted area in the projects. I would not recommend this property until they are at least able to clean the towels, clean the rooms, serve fresher food to serve for breakfast, and at least fix the bathroom doors.

Check-in was quick and easy. We did encounterd an issue with the room's fridge not working.
The staff deserves praise here – upon informing them, they promptly arranged for a replacement fridge with no fuss.
Their responsiveness and focus on fixing the problem significantly enhanced our stay and left a very good impression.

The property was quiet during my 4 night stay. Staff was friendly and always greeted me when I came back to the hotel.

The property is near a grocery store which was convenient. Unfortunately, my fridge was broken and moldy (would not get cold). So I was limited on purchase options.

Also, I noticed that the elevator permit was expired by more than 1 year and it made a weird sound every time I stepped in.

The property did have a breakfast option (hot meals on weekend) but the juices weren’t kept in a temp safe container. This resulted in the OJ expiring and fermenting. I stuck to making waffles each day since I knew they would be cooked correctly.

The only other complaint was that the Wi-Fi was spotty at times.

Don’t usually comment on my stays, but this hotel is a solid stay for the price. Staff is friendly, yes the property isn’t luxurious or very new, but it’s comfortable and functional. No red flags in terms of hygiene during my stay, and it’s extremely convenient to drive into Savannah proper. Great bang for your buck, with easily accessible essentials within walking distance. Solid 4/5

Property doesn’t look like the pictures on Expedia. The complimentary body wash in the shower wasn’t filled up/completely empty, the floor of the shower wasn’t cleaned, pillow cases on one side of our king bed where very damp/wet… someone who works for the hotel knocked on our door at 11:30pm at night and asked us when we were checking out the next day… very inappropriate especially when they know when people have to check out by. Very very unpleased and IS NOT worth $160 per night.

Bed was clean and comfortable but the pillow were terribly lumpy. The rest of the room we had to sanitize what we could and tried not to touch anything else. If we hadn’t had a midnight arrival we would not have stayed at this property. Those who have rated it as exceptional have very poor standards. Stains on the carpets, walls, and furnishings. Dust on the doors and walls. The hotel lobby and breakfast area are beautifully redone but completely misrepresent the condition of the rooms which is really most important for a clean, healthy, relaxing, and comfortable stay. The breakfast area is the only space in the hotel that smells musty due to moisture control issues apparent by the extreme condensation on the windows. Breakfast is a risk at best. Juice looks like it’s been there too long and is possibly fermenting at this point. They also offer cereal with no milk, muffins, a waffle maker with no batter, and a carafe of coffee that really looks like it needs a good exterior cleaning. Spend $30 more and stay elsewhere.

I stayed at Iris Garden Inn from June 12–14 and was very disappointed. The lobby had a strong, unpleasant odor upon arrival. The front desk staff was unprofessional and untrained, and my reservation had been incorrectly checked in under someone else. It took multiple calls to a manager just to resolve the issue.

The hotel felt unsafe, with people loitering in cars in the parking lot. Only one service elevator was working, and its inspection was expired (last checked in 2024). My room had a musty smell, was hot upon entry, and I found a dead roach behind the TV. It felt like the room hadn’t been inspected or used in a while.

None of the ice machines worked on the 2nd or 3rd floors, and the vending area on the 1st floor was out of order too. I was beyond frustrated by that point. Staff were rarely visible, and checking out was difficult due to a language barrier.

The photos online were misleading. I understand budget hotels come with limitations, but cleanliness, safety, and basic service should still be expected. I was relieved to only be staying two nights.

This our second time to stay at the Iris Garden Inn in Garden City/Savannah. Our daughter is a student at SCAD and in the past we always stayed at short term rentals in the north historic district. Last year we traveled with our dog to pick up our daughter for summer break and stayed at the Iris Garden Inn because they allow pets. We were pleasantly surprised at the newness and cleanliness of the inn and our room as well as the friendly and very helpful staff. Plus it had a large parking lot and grassy areas for walking our dog. This year no dog but booked again because we liked the convenience. It is close to the historic district (5 to 10 minute drive) and you don’t have the headache of hunting 15 minutes for an overnight pay to park space.

I had a two day stay but after no way of purchasing a drink cause machine was out of order on top people being loud all night long kids running down hallway paper thin walls dirty sink and tub. Tub stopper wouldn’t screw in so no way of taking a bath and after waking up first night with bed bugs bite all over me my husband and I packed our stuff up and left. Before leaving we looked at the mattress and it literally looked like someone had a bloody mess. GROSS

Came into the lobby, desk attendant did not acknowledge us verbally or even with a smile. Check in and learned that our room had a broken window shade, refrigerator broken, air vent in bath broken. Had to go downstairs because no one answered front desk phone. Desk attendant was rude to other people checking in. I was offered a new room; however no “sorry for the inconvenience” was given. Once I changed rooms and I came back downstairs to put away the roll cart, there was no follow through to make sure I was happy with the new room. New room had working items but the bath tub was just dirty and you could tell the room had not been used in awhile with all the dust on the lamps. New room had no phone, broken clock and the charging plugs in the head lamps also didn’t work. The hallways smelled musty and you can tell cheap products were used to make it look like it’s a higher end/modern look. Haven’t tried the shower to see if there is hot water, we shall see.

Front desk person when checking in was not nice. The room was dirty. And the hotel just smelled bad. Supposed to be no smoking but all you smelled was someone smoking weed. Towels were horrible. I give 3 star for service due to the front office staff who was there at the time of my check-in. She didn’t great me as she was upset or frustrated on incoming call. I was just standing there quite waiting her to finish what she was doing. She said something rude when the phone ring and she saw me standing there she didn’t care. The breakfast at this hotel was extremely limited. The coffee was completely empty for about half an hour at 8:00 AM. No staff were present to even ask about refilling it. They finally came back about half an hour later. They also manage the Baymont next-door, so I’m sure that’s where they were at. But it makes it extremely inconvenient for their own guests.

I have never complained about a stay before but this time is a must. STAY AWAY. They lie on description ( like having a pool and they filled it in), rooms smell like smoke and animals. Took four rooms to find one that didn’t stink. AC was stuck on snow, no display and temp buttons didn’t work so couldn’t warm it up, no curtains or blinds that worked, bathroom sheets were not clean. People had tv blaring at 3:30am and people outside in parking lot next to window drinking and cursing all night, no vending machines to get water. Had to drive 8 miles at midnight to find bottled water. No sleep. The property photos were done to make hotel nicer ( I am a photographer so I know the difference. It was dirty, no amenities and the staff and owner couldn’t care less.

I just wrote out my terrible experience with the only staff member there. She wasn’t busy, but implied I was an idiot because the tv remote wouldn’t work.
It clearly needed reprogramming….
Finally switched rooms to fix. Never a smile, thank you, just “they work on this TV”. Really an awful person who should work back of house jobs, not in front!!

One front clerk desk took the complaint tried her best showed me another room it was dirty as well. We were put in the 1sr floor. Pet friendly flooe, we didn't have a pet. Dog barking crying howling. We were offered anither room, which turned out to be a disaster. Toilet ran, window shade broken, closet door hinge hanging off the door, molding missing off the wall. Breakfast no tongs for the bread and muffins, when I asked they had to go to the hotel next door to get them. Next morning no tongs again. The good parts are the beds are very comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Yellow stains on towels and on bedsheets. It was horrific to sleep on those stains. Wyndham should invest in proper laundry detergent and stain removers and proper laundry equipment. No guest should sleep on another guest’s stains, laundered or not!
Bathroom exhaust sounded like a freight train. Loud enough to make you dizzy after 15-20 minutes in the bathroom. Every employee we met was polite and respectful. Anthony was amazing for St. Patrick’s Day shuttle services.
