The lobby looks amazing but the rooms are a different story. Some of the rooms are very spacious while others are very small. The hotel itself seems very outdated despite its chic lobby. The tv is placed on the side of the wall above the desk area which i also found to be odd. Along with not having access to netflix or streaming services unless you brought your own device and hdmi cord. Staff was very helpful and friendly though I would not stay again.

The Midland is a beautiful establishment in a great location, and the staff was kind and welcoming. We understand it was Valentine’s weekend and the hotel was very busy, which may have contributed to some of the issues during our stay.

However, there were a few concerns. The lobby had a noticeable smell of marijuana upon arrival. The nearby parking structure was not suitable for larger vehicles the clearance was too low for our truck and we unfortunately scraped the top before being able to exit.

Our room was also uncomfortably warm. We set the thermostat to 65°F, but the temperature remained between 75–80°F throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. It seemed the thermostat was not functioning properly.

Additionally, there were visible scuffs and markings on the walls, and the bedding did not feel fully presentable. The bed only had sheets covering it, and the comforter appeared to have stains.

Overall, while the hotel itself is beautiful and the staff was pleasant, the stay did not fully meet expectations.

Room was in okay condition. The mini fridge didn’t work so it had a weird smell. The lighting is very dark and not much surface area for shower items. There was no fitted sheet on the mattress. Bed was more comfortable compared to higher end hotels I have stayed at in the area during the year.

Restaurant offering was minimal and service sucked. But I get it, it was New Year’s Eve.

Front desk, bar, and restaurant (Breakfast) service was great. Everyone was nice and did a good job with their respective positions. Lobby and common areas were very nice.

My room, however, was not particularly nice. The main issues being how dirty it was. The bathroom floor was sticky. The blinds and closet were so dirty you could actually see blooms of dust in the air when you used them. Also, I ran out of tissues and toilet paper by the second day. I feel like the room should have enough of these items for one person to get through more than one day. When I called for more, I was told it could be up to an hour before it would arrive unless I wanted to come down to the front desk. Only a minor inconvenience but not something I really felt I should have to do.

Thecroom was spacious however only one chair and no table.
The staff at check in was fine but the staff in the bar / lobby were mot very friendly. We always play cards and have a glass of wine and thet would not allow us to sit in yge lobby area. We have always had no problem at every other hotel we have stayed.

The Midland Hotel has a beautiful lobby and lounge area, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our room was comfortable, and the beds and pillows made for a great night’s sleep. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and made check-in a breeze.

Unfortunately, we did have an embarrassing experience during our stay. We brought our own Govino cups of wine to the lobby to enjoy a game of cards, something we do on every trip. We were asked to leave because the wine wasn’t purchased from the hotel’s restaurant. If you enjoy relaxing with your own drinks and games in common areas, this hotel may not be the best fit. Because of this, we’ll likely choose a different place to stay in the future.

The room felt really dirty and I was concerned about taking my shoes off to walk on the carpet bare feet. I slept really uncomfortable because I could feel the filth in the room although I couldn't see it at first. I later took a picture of the dust accumulation all around the bed Which made my skin crawl. It was really unfortunate and I'd like a refund.

Free coffee gets high marks and it was decent quality too. Location is great. Two blocks from Willis Tower and 10 minutes from the lakefront.

Your front desk people do not regularly answer their phone. I attempted to call several times on my way into Chicago to request an early check-in, 3 phone calls went unanswered. Ultimately, I got through, but was not given early check-in, which was very disappointing.

My partner and I had a great stay at The Midland. Originally booked a Queen bed and was upgraded to a King for no extra charge. Room was a bit small but very clean and ideal for a one night stay. The location is in The Loop so there's plenty to do, see and eat all in the vicinity. We didn't use the bar/restaurant in the hotel since the food options were very limited and a bit pricey but plenty of other guests enjoyed it. There is also a hair salon connected to the hotel if you need that lol. Overall, a good place to stay in the city and you are likely only a couple of miles from whatever you want to do. Thank you!

Not coming back here. Room felt creepy (cramped and designed badly, barely room to move around the bed ), we got put right in front of the elevator, and the shower either jumped from freezing to painfully hot (which is the main issue). We both usually like a hot shower but there was no middle ground to the temperature to ramp up to it.
Asked the front desk to send someone to look at the shower the next morning and when we got back that afternoon, nothing was different. There was no communication of whether someone was sent up or even a note.
