New Year's short break.

Very clean hotel, and well located in quiet street behind the main station. Room was large and comfortable if a little dated from 90s but the bathroom and shower were brand new and excellent. Great power shower with lots of hot water! Breakfast buffet was plentiful and good choices-food was tasty and well presented. Staff were friendly especially AppleJay at Reception who bent over backwards to make us welcome at check-in.

Hotel room AC did not work and room smelled of cigarette smoke.
An ashtray on the balcony confirmed my suspicion that smoking in the room happened often.

Our experience at this hotel was not enjoyable at all. Firstly, when we went up to our room for the first time, the water was not working. We were not told this when checking in and could not wash up or use the bathroom at all. Secondly, the parking of this hotel is located in another building, and in order to pay for the parking, you must go to the train station which is not very close to the hotel. We were not informed that we had to pay at the train station and when we asked for help in the parking, they informed us to pay in the parking which was wrong as there was no machine. We later found out we could have payed at the hotel, but we were not told about this option, which made us late for our next destination by about an hour. Overall not a good experience and we expected better customer service from a 4 star hotel.

My sons and I had a great long weekend in this hotel. It’s a little way out from Altstadt, but taxis are easily accessible if required. Very close to Central Station. Overall, the hotel is very comfortable, and good value for money. Well recommended.

We arrived for breakfast 5 minutes before service ended at 10am. The waitress was hovering around and reminded us 3 times that we were the last to arrive and that she was waiting only for us. We felt unnecessarily pressured to eat and leave as quickly as possible.
On the information in the room it said that the restaurant was open until 10pm. We arrived at 9.15 and it was not open. Bar snacks available but were not as described on the menu.
Also despite the hotel advertising EV chargers in the parking garage, these were not even commissioned yet so we were not able to charge. They should not be advertised if not working

This is my third time of staying at the hotel, it's very conveniently located next to the train station and the main town.
The staff seem to be more biased towards other traveller's than the English.
There was refit works going on we were not notified by either the hotel or Expedia!
The bar wasnt open although there was a make shift one in the restaurant, the workman where still drilling and sawing until 9pm, so not a really nice relaxed atmosphere & the staff where not equipped to be serving more than one customer at a time.
The local rough living chap thought he could use the outside corner of the hotel as his nightly toilet stop, mentioned it to reception and 2 days later the mess was still on the floor!

Pleasantly Surprised for the Price

Great location and staff-they were always helpful and precessional. The room size is also amazing. The hotel could use some upgrades, but not a bad stay.

My room was pleasantly spacious. It could have used some extra vacuuming/sweeping, but it didn’t impact my stay.

There aren’t fancy room amenities, but the price and location make up for it. We were only in the room to sleep and shower, and this hotel hit the target for that.

Another plus is that it is one of the FEW hotels in Düsseldorf that don’t make families get a second room for children. Like I’m really going to get a separate room for my 11 year old child.

The breakfast was reasonably priced and offered a good variety.

A Good Surprise

I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of hotel for the price and location. Quiet, very good buffet breakfast, comfortable bed, bath, only three minutes walk from the train station. Tea and coffee and kettle was in the room.
I would very happily stay again

Terrible hotel.
We arrived from Amsterdam as part of a longer trip having booked all our hotels through Hotels.com. As this was only a short stay, we booked a non-refundable rate. It was all going great until we arrived at the hotel on a rainy Monday morning. Upon checking in, they asked us where we were travelling from and informed us that we needed to give them negative COVID test results which shouldn't be more than 48 hours old. This requirement was not present when we booked the hotel a week prior, it had been added that morning for travellers from Amsterdam. The lady was kind enough to show us where we could get the test done but the results wouldn't be available for another couple of days, so not an option. We were told that we couldn't get a refund because it was non-refundable but even if it were refundable, the refund window would have expired the day before so again not an option. We were blamed for not calling ahead to check if their policy had changed!!
Any way you could look at it, we were always going to lose our money without staying there on top of having to find an alternative hotel at the last minute.
We felt they needed to inform us when their policy changed after we had bokked and paid, especially that close to our stay.
We complained through Hotels.com and the hotel again reminded us that our rate was non-refundable.
So, we lost the money but we hope anyone else wanting to stay there has a better experience, but I would look elsewhere if I were you.

Great location & value

Excellent location right next to Dusseldorf central station, service is excellent (friendly & fast), good breakfast, spacious and clean rooms.
Only downside is rooms are a bit outdated on style & TV.
Stayed at this hotel several times, would definitely come back when i'm in Dusseldorf.

Hotel was well located with great staff and a good restaurant. Parking might be a challenge for non able bodied people as it is adjacent to the hotel and not part of it plus there’s no lift meaning a guest has to lug the luggage up and down a steep ramp.

Nice stay and great location!

Just a quick one night stay. They upgraded me to a suite which was nice but as you sometimes find in Euopean hotels you get to your floor and still have to go up stairs. I had heavy luggage with me on this trip to that was inconvenient. But there was a tub in the room so a nice soak made up for it. Overall a nice place in a great location next to the train station.

Leonardo was easily accessible to the station the hotel very clean and rooms were very comfortable and spacious the staff on reception was excellent, the only fault was the tea and coffee facilities in the room had paper cups, not nice and wooden stick spoons, the breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from, the bar facilities were dreadful very very slow once ordered took at least 10/20 minutes to actually receive the drink, and kept running out of certain spirits otherwise a lovely hotel and would use again

This is a very good hotel in a really good location. The room was splendid and quiet. The breakfast was very good and the staff excellent and friendly. No problem that we do not speak German. Very close (4 minutes) from the main station yet on a quiet and pleasant street. Only disappointment was no gin (all week) in the bar!

Very noisey as told by reception that it was the English guests making the noise, even though we had a half naked German man drunk & clearly on some other substance knocking on our door. Room service - cleaned the room then someone else would knock to see if the room had been cleaned & then later they would come on the room again!!! Also entered the room whilst we were in with the 'do not disturb' on the door!! Asked for later check out but wanted to charge €32 for half day, never had that at the Raddisun Blu or Nikko hotel which are all 4*. Then following day asked again to be told if was a problem as we booked with Expedia!!! Reception staff very rude & not accommodating at all
Breakfast was very good, staff excellent and the chap who worked in the bar/restaurant in the evening was very good along with steak. But not enough for us to book again

Good presentation of hotel, we did not miss the mini-fridge, excellent breakfast and great staff, a plus having a sauna, but the pool was too small and old with cold water; not happy with liquid soap - preference for bar soap; sleepers and bathrobe to be provided in advance, without the guest to request them, especially if you mentioned that you are going to use sauna;
Short instruction about sauna are missing- towels hidden near sauna, but found them after a guest told us...
Nothing was perfect, but we enjoyed it.

Only one free 0.5cl water during the whole stay. Wifi not stable. Staffs seem like they don't like their jobs. We reserved a superior room with one double bed and one single bed, but only got a twin room in the end. Don't even have the mood to argue for changing the room due to staffs' bad attitude when we were checking in. OVERRATED!

It was a nice experiencie one more time, I am staying at this hotel since 7 years ago, for every MEDICA exhibition, the room is so clean, very safe area, good restaurant and the bar is an excellent place to know new friends, the bar keeper, Mr Hortenbach is a very friendly guy, I have a lot of fun at this bar, the same the guy at the front desk, Mr Berkan, all time offering help and very polite person, as Mr Budolic too.
Really I enjoyce my stay at this hotel, I recommend it.

Good hotel near central station

We stayed at the Leonardo Koln airport and then Dusseldorf the next evening. Both were well furnished, well priced, had very comfy twin double beds (with single duvets). The room was quiet - I couldn't hear any trains or city noise. I didn't hear any internal hotel noise either - perhaps I was just mega tired! The hotel takes two minutes to walk to from the central station. Breakfast was good with a range of options. Very happily book here again.

The Leonardo staff was so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go back. It was so convenient, and easy to find once you got out of the train station onto the street. The room was clean and fresh, the TV ready to rock. A little coffeepot with instant coffee offered us some java for our early morning departure.

FYI, the area on the opposite side of the train station doesn't offer so much in the way of tourist amenities and seems to be more of a student area, but there' s a good bakery and, yay! hairdresser there. A block away from Leonardo side may be more to your liking for shopping.

Excellent location, close to KaDaWe and trains. The hotel is fabulous. However, breakfast is too expensive at 26 euros though it is really good and you have to pay for wifi which is bad service. Outside of that, this is an excellent place from which to enjoy Berlin.
