The staff were great, but the hotel itself is a little tired in places. For example there was no plug for the bath (so you could only shower, defeats the point of the bath), there were areas of the room that needed a bit of love (like the edges of doors), and the bathroom had a bit of a weird smell some times. It was good enough for a two night stay, but not sure I’d say it was a four star hotel.

the best feature is the breakfast, second comes the room is very clean and comfortable. The hotel is a bit noisy - one hears people in their own bathrooms...Staff was pleasant but I had to wait for my booked room for 90 minutes because I came in earlier. I had travelled 22 hours with 9 hours of time difference. I had asked to no avail.

We've stayed at various Hilton properties prior to our stay in Girona, and I can honestly say that we were underwhelmed! While checking in, you notice that the reception desk is worn, dirty and untidy. The young man that checked us in wasn't very helpful; he didn't advise us the times for breakfast, or indicate to us where breakfast was served. In my mind, this is something you automatically tell EVERY guest on arrival.
When we got to the room, we found it to be very tired; the furniture was very worn and chipped, cigarette burns on the bedside table, the mirror on the sliding wardrobe door had been broken at the bottom, the toilet seat loose and moving about, and worst of all, the laminate flooring was splitting, cracking and moved to the extent that in several places, you could fit your finger into the gap between the end of the sections of flooring.
The view from the room wasn't appealing either - looking directly onto the balconies of residential apartmentments very close by. You were aware that if you could see them so clearly, that they could also see you too - especially the man who had a whole office set up no more than 50ft away from us! I doubt the view from the front of the hotel would have been better, as right opposite the entrance was the rear of a supermarket and the entrance to their car park!
Apart from a nearby music venue, there is nothing of interest nearby, and we would have been better served in a hotel closer to the city centre restaurants and bars.

I have not had such a bad hotel stay in a long while. The front desk staff is fine even though one of them said one of our room numbers out loud. The beds are not very comfortable, and when I checked in the wheels of my bed were not even locked so the bed was sliding and I saw there were holes in the walls behind the bed. Besides the holes, the walls are paper thin and I could hear every word being said in my neighboring rooms. They also had a linen delivery scheduled for 7am and it was so loud through the window it woke me up. When the cleaning staff is working you can hear them slamming into the walls, loudly dragging furniture, I even heard glass breaking. So overall very uncomfortable stay and I expected much better from this brand.

Beds are as hard as rocks - I usually like firm beds but this really was like sleeping on the floor. The king room we ordered is not a real king but 2 singles but together on wheels so it wasn't stable and massive gap in middle.

Good was good and the waiter was nice and accommodating. The food has good variety.

However the front desk staffs weren’t as nice as many other DoubleTree we’ve been too. A lot of things we have to self help plus pool was closed and they were not ready to open although there was no lightning or thunderstorms.

Parking space was tight and difficult to manoeuvre.

Overall stay in the room was nice with good nice room and TV Prog for the kids. However the key card was a real headaches as we were continuously locked out due to key card malfunction.

Nice place to stay as near to many attractions.

This is a great hotel to explore Girona from, with a short 10-15minute walk into the main city and a 20 min walk to the old town.

Unfortunately the pool was closed during our stay so we couldn't make use of this, but overall the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly.

Great hotel with excellent service. I had a problem with the lock on my door and was quickly moved to a different room and had free breakfasts added to my stay.

On the negative side, the furniture in the rooms was chipped and shabby and and the showers were designed to soak the bathroom floor every time they were used.

The rooftop terrace, pool and bar seemed to be missing most of its furniture - 6 sun beds is not enough for a hotel with four floors of bedrooms and the bar are had no tables just chairs which were generally moved towards the pool to make up for the lack of sun beds.

The location is a bit off pitch - 10 min walk to the station, 15 min walk to the old town.

We booked 2 rooms requesting interconnecting or rooms near to each other. When we arrived I was told had only booked 1 room but when I showed them the booking for the 2 rooms the receptionist realised 1 room had been given to the wrong guests. Our rooms in the end were 4 floors apart which couldn’t have been further away from each other. We had interconnecting rooms with other guests and you could hear every word said including if someone in the room next door coughed. I had booked 2 rooms with balconies but only 1 had a balcony and no refund was applied for this. Very disappointing stay.

Room we were allocated was very good, but it would have been nice to have has a kettle in the room to make a drink or a complimentary bottle of water.

I booked this hotel so I could enjoy some outdoor relaxation only to find the roof terrace was closed.

In the room.
Bed was on wheels and had no headboard so I could not sit up in bed because the bed would just move and pillows fell down the back of the bed.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. You have to go to reception and pay £2.
Water was charged at £2.5 for a tiny bottle. I thought they were comp so was a little surprised when I came to settle my account to have them on my bill.

The hotel had good points but there were niggles which spoilt the experience. The check in was good, the receptionist was helpful. Intially we were pleased. the reception area was attractive as was the lounge and bar. Our room was a good size and clean. However, there were problems with the room. Initially the tv didn't work but this was quickly rectified. The light in the entrance was flickering .The beds were the usual two joined singles but when sat onthe bed the bed rolled forwards and the pillows slipped down which was annoying also there was discrepancy in theheight. The bathroom was satifacty but when one showered the water streamed down the side of the bath, an attempt at sealing the screen was unsucessful. It took 2 small towels to mop up the water. On the 2nd morning our towels were replaced and one of the towels was very badly shredded along the edge . None of the which major problems but they were annoying.
However, the main problem was we had booked the hotel because it had a bar and a restaurant. It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted an hotel where we didnt have to walk out every night We knew the bar didnt open until 8pm so we asked at reception if we could get a drink at 7.30 pm as we wanted to eat at 8pm. We were told yes. At 8pm the bar was still closed and we were told it wasnt opening at all and that drinks were only available at the table. After considerable protest we were served with drinks . It rather ruined the occasion.

The hotel is located on the edge off town, it is a 15-20 min walk to the city center. The rooms are comfortable but the AC isn’t powerful enough to cool the very warm room. The windows are locked so can’t be fully opened. The staff did their best to help.

This area has nothing around the hotel so you have to walk. Very slow front desk. Not 24 hour room service like it’s advertised. Food was bad after waiting 40 min. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows , doesn’t have headboard or rug under but has rollers under beds. 2 twin beds next to each other were keep moving and my pillows were keep falling behind the bed once I moved.

Our train was cancelled by the french strikes so we were delayed but we rang ahead and asked if it was ok to check in in the early hours and that was fine. A warm and friendly welcome was received around 5:45am accompanied by a lovely cookie, much appreciated. We had to be on the next rain at 10:30am so a flying recharge and shower. Love this hotel and its friendly staff, huge beds and comfortable rooms.

Arrived early hours at 0130, reception were helpful and happy to check us in. Welcome cookie on arrival was a nice touch. Hotel is modern with a nice clean feel to it, typical of the Hilton Doubletree brand. Hotel is a 15 minute walk from the city centre just a nice stroll on an evening. Free parking is available just over the main road behind McDonald/ Burger King. Spanish Supermarket is next door with Aldi and Lidl opposite next to McDonald's. Roof top bar and pool are is ideal, quite busy on a weekend. Nice place to chill on a night as the sun goes down or grab a last drink before bed. All staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much bother. Would recommend this hotel for family or friends, had a great seven nights.

It is an older property and needs renovating
It isn't geared up for a modern traveller.
There is an extra charge for Parking (which at €14 is pretty steep) so if you are coming by car you would need to account for that expense.

The best thing about the property was the roof top space. I would like to say swimming pool but we never got to use it as we were there for a short while.

No mattress protector. Just an extra sheet.

The AC is old as well so when it is on, it is blasting cold and obviously when it was off, it was uncomfortable to sleep in. I did mention this to the reception at check out and she said \"yes it is an issue as the AC system is old\"
The blanket provided was quite thin as well

The rooms have full length - floor to ceiling glass - but the view is of other buildings.

It isn't right in the city centre but there is a bus that takes you straight to the city centre just outside the hotel for €1.40 per person. Well worth it. On the way back we walked back as the bus was going to take a long time. It was a pleasant walk back and very much doable

Breakfast had a lot of good variety but not sure it is worth it at €12 per person.
There is a coffee/patisserie shop near by as well a fruit shop with good priced fruits.

This hotel isn't somewhere I would totally recommend but so long as you know the short comings of the place you can make a decision based on that.

Comfortable stay and pleasant city to visit

Modern, reasonably-priced hotel within easy reach of the city and easily accessed by car. Being a city hotel, the location is hardly scenic (the promoted 'terraced' restaurant looks out upon the square of the adjacent blocks of flats) but it is in a quiet area and the city can be readily reached on foot. The half board option delivered a fair 3 course meal - even if the restaurant service could, at times, be somewhat casual. The city itself has fascinating parts to visit, in addition to the cathedral, squares and (fairly challenging) old city walls.

However, they do have a garage so parking is OK, except that the hotel's parking spaces are so tight that getting a Volvo station wagon into a space took a lot of effort. Nice clean hotel. Rooms were modern and good size. Location is convenient for main tourist areas in girona.

Worth staying just a bit further from town.

Whilst slightly further out of the main town area it was easy enough and quick enough to walk. Worth the cheaper price and quieter as well. I have stayed right in the middle of the old town and that can be noisy with church clocks and early morning vehicle sounds bouncing off the wall.

First time in a Doubletree and I was impressed.

Lovely warm welcome and warm cookies as you check in! Only staying one night to get the train in the morning. McDonald’s just down the road open late. We’ve stayed in Girona several times and it’s beautiful. Didn’t walk to the lovely old part as this was just a quick stop. Comfortable beds, lovely room, friendly helpful staff. Lovely cookies!!
