The Deluxe Queen Queen room faces the road and houses look straight into your room. The linen curtains help to filter this out.

The room itself had been refreshed recently. The bathroom was however was still in its origional condition. The covers around the shower fittings fell off a few times.

The water filter down stairs needed replacing, therefore would not work towards the end of our stay. This was not resolved.

The room was relatively clean, however there was a hair tie sitting on the disabled wall handle I the bathroom and items under the bed from the previous guests and the coffee area was dusty. This indicates that the room was not cleaned thoroughly.

We had our room serviced and the mugs we used for coffee were not replenished, therfore were dirty. The bathroom sink was not a sanitary way to clean these for repeated use.

The air con worked well and the beds were comfortable.

The pool was heated really well and was a lovely escape from the 4 degree cold.

The kids room was amazing and the kids loved this along with the pool.

Overall we did enjoy our stay here and would stay agian, some maintance and attention to detail would go a long way in improving this hotel though.

I was a little disappointed with my stay overall. The amenities seemed to be in need of some maintenance, which made basic things like showering more difficult than expected. I was also advised at the time of booking that a late check-out could be arranged on arrival, however when I enquired at the hotel, I was told this wasn’t available. It would have been helpful to have that clarified earlier when planning my stay

A bit disappointed about the \"deluxe\" room, quite small and simple, the bathroom had a old bathtub as a shower, a bit old fashioned.
The hotel was quite and we enjoyed the heated pool.
At the arrival the staff was not very friendly but after we could sort out a wrong booking, at the end very helpful.

The room's bathroom was too small- there was no where to hang out wet togs and towels. Pool gate and area could use a update and refresh. and the curtains are too see through, for $300 per night I was expecting a bit more in the room, but staff were great. Prices for a toated sandwich and salad and fried expensive.

We last stayed here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it but it seems to have gone downhill. The hotel location is great, the room was clean and tidy, beds comfortable, but the bathroom was full of mould and in definite need of a refurb. We had the buffet breakfast in the restaurant which was cold and not worth the price. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there and didn’t seem to care the bathroom was mouldy. We cancelled a booking for our return trip and stayed at a much nicer place for the same price.

Dirty and gross. We paid to upgrade to a more updated room with view of geysers and it was better than original room but the bathroom was completely disgusting. I cannot imagine when it was last serviced but it was appalling. Staff were nice but otherwise SKIP this motel. We could not leave fast enough.

Breakfast has a wide variety of food and constantly restocked.
Bed doesn't have a side table on one side or powerpoint.

Our family of 4 had a fantastic stay. The heated pool was a lot hotter than I expected which was fantastic after a day of riding.
Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom is a bit dated and shower head could do with replacing but overall it was functional.

Buffet dinner and breakfast was fantastic especially with kids. The food and quality options was fantastic. I highly recommend.

We would definitely stay again.

Sufficient parking in and around the hotel. The hotel rooms are ageing although the housekeeping cleaning was top notch. Some maintenances needed in the bathrooms especially. We were delighted with Willow who checked us in. Saw her single handedly multitasking and being informative, while prioritising queues. The three girls at breakfast were stellar at service too! Housekeeping staff were warm and greeted us on floors. Loved the pool and sauna.(no pool towels available) but I’ll attribute that to the weekend rush. Overall, except for the age of the hotel considering more modern ones in the area, I would stay again on my next trip. Nga mihi.

Lovely hotel. A little older but had good amenities. Heated pool and a kids/games room with ping pong table, fooseball, arcade game box, etc.
the breakfast buffet was good. Nice selection of fresh fruits and items from around the world including Indian paneer dish and rice.

Had a small coin operated laundry (4 NZD per wash or per dry).

Really nice hotel, conveniently located near Te Pua geothermal park. We all loved the room,which was perfect for a family of 4. The breakfast was really good with lots of varieties and really tasty. The special addition was the outdoors heated pool which we all loved and wish we could stay longer to enjoy.

Check in and out (by the same gentleman incidentally) was efficient, polite and friendly. I upgraded my room to floor 8 which looked out over the geyser which had an amazing view and was worth the additional charge. Wi-Fi fast. Room service was available which was a much needed treat after travelling about and was absolutely delicious (2 courses) and arrived speedily having also received an email confirmation. Location was 10 minutes walk away (3 by car) for Te Puia which was excellent and right next to the Māori village experience. Intercity bus ran from the other end of Fenton Street near the views over Rotorua lake.

Next door to the Whakarewarewa geothermal walkway/ Moari village, which is very convenient. However, the sulphorous smell can be strong and cause some irritation.
Breakfast was good. Room service options were a bit quirky. Great base to explore Rotorua and surrounding areas and activities if you have transport. Room was clean and functional, although not particularly spacious. We had a Superior Queen Single for a couple. It had a single bed, as well a queen bed, which took up space. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We switched rooms 3x as the first two rooms were very dirty, glassware had been used, dirt and grime on surfaces, hairs stuck in the fridge and in bedding. The third room was a deluxe room which was better, but there was still bits of previous guests trash behind the bin and hair on the pillow

We were in the middle of someone else’s family reunion so doors slammed on two sides of us until after midnight. No sleep for us. Reservations should think about stuff like that!

The view from the room was amazing if one overlooked the rooves and bins. The bath plug was disgusting and the shower over the bath didn't work. There was what looked like menstrual blood on the wall behind the bin in the bathroom. This bit was gross. The public areas were faultless and the restaurant food A+

Check in staff was hard to understand, maybe he had a cold?? When asked, he said we had breakfast included, but in the morning we were told we did not!
Being so close to geothermal activity its ironic the 2 hot tubs were cool enough for the kids to play ib, and of no use to the adults.

The room was just tired, the bathroom was small the toilet paper in the dispenser was about 80% used, their were women's' hairs in the bed and the bathroom, not great.
The vanity tap had a water saving needle jet that wet me every time I rinsed my hands, the bathroom was pokey, the television old and not great. The hotel is very tired and in my view not a Rydges, more like an Ibis

My sons and I had a great stay. The room was so comfortable, clean and quiet. Great place for kids. My sons had a bball tournament so the pool and spas were great for their recovery in between games and at the end of the days. The staff were friendly and welcoming and food was great

The staff were friendly and the parking was free. Those were the best parts of our stay. The room was more outdated and dingy than I was expecting. I think some of the rooms here have been updated and others have not. Ours was definitely not. We were in a superior room with multiple beds. I would not recommend selecting this room. I could have dealt With it being outdated but it felt musty. Anytime we turned on the AC the smell of sulfur was overwhelming. I do understand Rotorua has a smell in general but in the room with the AC on it was unbearable. I had a headache and my eyes were burning. My husband was coughing. We did notify staff and they said some rooms have a worse smell than others. They offered to change our rooms for a fee, which I guess is a good aspect. I will probably never stay in Rotorua again but if you do I would recommend a different room at this hotel or just a different hotel.
