Beyond impressed

In reality, it’s very practical, all I needed is just a place to sleep, to shower, more importantly, a place That’s very quiet away from the hustle and bustle (while being near walking distance to it). This hotel Had all the basic amenities and more importantly phenomenal customer service, courteous polite people. If you want a hotel that clicks on all those check boxes Then This particular hotel fits the criteria excellently.

This hotel was dirty, run down. Bathtub cracked and rusty, black mold, shower curtain yellow from urine and bathroom smelled. Spider webs, dirty bed linen, breakfast substandard. Booked, pre-paid for 1 week but left after first night, no refund.
Avoid this place.

This place is always great and is where I always stay while in Bangkok. Modern clean friendly I can’t say enough about the Golden Tulip. They always go out of their way to accommodate whether it’s early check-in or late checkouts. I will be back.

Cheap but not really worth it.

First room we were given had broken air conditioning, the second had a leaking shower stall that flooded the bathroom each time you took a shower. The rubber shower mat had black mold growing on it. The sofa had water stains on the cushions, the curtains had stains on them, the video game console promised wasn't in the room and the headboard had children's scribbles on it.

Property is outdated and have this old musky smell. It is that old that I booked an executive room and after using toilet the door knob broke if it wasn’t for my wife I probably would have been stuck in there till room service would have turned up. Room wasn’t clean had marks on the window, bed was broken, bed sheet had stains & so did the wall. I wouldn’t recommend it

A nice hotel for the price

The hotel is located in a nice place, nearby to the main Sumkuvit road, metro station and there is free tuk tuk which is a time saver. The breakfast is quite good too. The only negative thing is about the room and corridors. I think you should make a renovation on walls, floor material and furniture. There is a bit disturbing smell which you have to used to. Anyway, we are still positive about the hotel for the price. Thanks

If you are traveling with your couple or your family I do NOT recommend this hotel. The rooms are all connected by doors so you can hear everything that's going on in the other rooms. There are a lot of guys that go to party to BKK staying there and you can hear music and other things in the rooms all night long! We slept for 3 hours! TERRIBLE experience!!!

Located at bottom of soi 20, away from main road with short walk to soi 22 where there are lots of restaurants.
Room condition was only minor negative, but would stay there again as i thought it was good value.

I stayed several times at this property, the location is good, the value for money is OK. This time the check-in was perfectly friendly and quick. I got a good room on a high floor. The only bad thing about the room was that the madras in the bed really needed to be changed, it was like \"falling down in a hole\" when you lay down.
The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful.
A big disappointment was the service around the pool area before there were many options with different cocktails food offers and staff to serve you outside the restaurant.
I like to enjoy some time at the pool area and to have a few drinks and some food there, but this seems not important to the hotel to offer this service.
I will say the staff are very helpful and will bring you any order outside, but it is not the same as before!!!!
So general hr impression, good and friendly staff but bad management.
I enjoyed many stays there but will not choose this property in the future.

I booked an Exclusive Suite with King bed and bath tub. The staff was arrange a first room without bath tub. Then I check with the staff and they change a small room with bathtub. However, my reservation should be Exclusive Suite and the area should be 480 m square with dinning area. Then I check with the staff again. I finally got a large room with bathtub. But still missing the dinning room. However, I don't want to argued with the staff again. When I stay in the room. The room was suck. The shower curtain was very very dirty. I also found I lost an some stuff in the last room when I changing the room. So, I checked with the staff and they said the shower curtain was not able to change and they promise to ask staff to send back the missing stuff to my new room. However, I didn't get back my stuff (just for bathing) and no one mentioned to me again. I feel very. disppointed

The room was old and the light source was weird. The room was dark at night and I can't even see the display on the air condition remote.
The breakfast was suck and have no much choice

Location is very good . Had a couple of issues this year someone had been smoking in the room before we checked in this happened last year as well and there was a delay with the book in we arrived at about 3 pm and they said we had to wait for another hour before we could get our room and they said i had booked a room with 2 single beds wich i hadn't let them i was not happy and they gave us a room straight away said it was a upgrade but im not sure i have been stayinb there for the last 5 years every year

This is our second time here and we thought that the property wasn't as good as the first time. The staff were good rooms was ok just thought the whole place was looking a bit tired. Free tuk tuk up to Asok BTS. Good variety of breakfast but felt the quality wasn't as good as the first time. Aircon works well and shower good. bed ok.

I stayed for 4 nights with my girl friend. In general a very good hotel with a nice pool. Staffs was friendly no matter at the restaurant or the housekeeping maid. Money worth and location is about 10mins. walk to BTS station. The bellmen/drivers on the ground level was really impressed us. Always send/pick us up to BTS station by TuK TuK, with friendly manner and smiles.

A minor point when I was asking a late check with the manageress Pranee on my Birthday. I'm not expected they alert it and fully understand a request may not be fulfilled. However, she turned me down due to tight situation in English but tell her subordinates in front of me in Thai that request must turn down due to booking source(paying cheap rate). Well, that's truly a bad demonstration since she assumed customer can't understand Thai. This is a only defect of my entire stay.

Beautiful hotel in tourist area of Sukhumvit

A lovely well appointed hotel in the tourist area of Sukhumvit, Soi 20.
The hotel sits at the end of Soi 20 which is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the main Sukhumvit road. If you don't want to walk there is a free complimentary tuk tuk provided by the hotel. However there are plenty of interesting shop's, restaurants, bars and massage establishments (not the naughty variety) to see along the way.
As you enter the main Sukhumvit road the BTS stations Asok and Phrom Phong are close by depending which way you turn, so it is very central to and easy to access all the main tourist attractions.
The hotel itself for me was pretty much faultless. I had the Grand room deluxe which was spacious and with great views.
The facilities were excellent, with everything working faultlessly ie shower, free WiFi etc. Also I found the bed hugh and really comfortable.
Breakfast was also excellent, with changes daily, so that you weren't having to eat the same thing every day if you didn't want to. However you could also make specific requests if so desired.
The hotel also has a nice pool and pool area and bar which was nice if you wanted to chill during the afternoon.
Personally I couldn't really find any fault with the hotel and enjoyed my stay there and would have no problem booking again if I was visiting Bangkok again.

We always have a great stay at Golden Tulip Madison. Great comfort and cleanliness. Professional staff and an all round a good experience. This was our 4th stay at the hotel. And we belive its good value for the price in Sukhumvit area. We especially enjoy the breakfast, big nice rooms and the quietness of the hotel.

I also had some problem having my credit card secure the booking. But Weena had great patient when mailing her and letting her know of my problems. Greatly appreciated.

It was a horrible place, no way it is a 4 star hotel. In fact it is 2 star. Very small lifts, hardly three people could fit in. Reception is on the 4th floor, does not look like a hotel reception. Carpets in hallways are filthy, overall it is a third class accommodation.
Too far from the main road, you have walk 15 minutes.

Golden Tulip at Sukhuwit Bangkok

The hotel is located a little Tuk Tuk drive (complimentary from the hotel) to MRT or BTS train. The area has shopping, restaurants and bars.
The pool and bar area are nice.
Breakfast was very good, dinner wasn't bad either (limited choices due to some ingredients unavailable from the kitchen)
Overall a pleasant stay, staff was very polite and helpful.

when I booked this online I thought I was booking at the golden tulip hotel,turns out this place is a different establishment with a very different,very unfriendly attitude towards customers.My booking confirmation clearly stated that I had booked one deluxe room containing 2 x twin beds.I took this as indicating there would be bedding enough for four ,(thinking that 2 x twin would be 2 x 2,equalling 4).As we are a family of 3,(2 adults and I 10yo girl who is tall for her age,as tall as an adult female),I was confident we would be accommodated for.Wrong!!!,when we arrived we were shown to a studio style room with one double bed.I told the receptionist that this wouldnt suit and they changed us to another room,a smaller room with only 2 single beds.I complained again and was told we could have a fold up bed supplied at a cost of approx $40.00 aus.Ughhhh

The hotel is totally not as good as recommended. The lobby is in the 4th floor, not obvious for finding.
The breakfast is quite simple, some of the food is not fresh, while some of the female staff are quite nice.
The room was not clean in which ash tray could be found on the ground. The bathrobe was quite old and partly broken.
The hotel situated at the far end of the lane, and it took no less than half an hour one-way walking to main roads;

The reception was guy was not at all welcoming. First of all, he refused a late check out saying that I can get it in other hotels but not here. They are very different. I gave my credit card for the deposit but they want me to pay the whole amount while I am checking in then I said fine you can charge me for one night until I go out n change my dollars. After a hectic journey from outside Bangkok no one wants that kind of a welcome.

New hotel with amazing facilities. Breakfast was really good with quite a decent choice of food to pick. The gym was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is very well located for getting around the city. Mtr ( skytrain ) an easy walk (5-7 minutes ) or the hotel also offers a tuc tuc service to the train station. Great eats around and you've got to have the street food in the area. So much choice, it's clean and cheap. The hotel staff seemed a bit uncompromising with any requests but all in all a very lovely stay we had for two nights. I would stay there again.

Good location too, free short tuk tuk rides handy too. Gord the concierge/tuk tuk pilot speaks excellent English and is the go to guy for everything. Very capable and accommodating, a great asset to the hotel. Lots of ATM's and restaurants nearby.

The hotel room is relatively in good condition and it comes with a 2 seater sofa. The lighting is a bit insufficient but that depends on individual. The breakfast is served with good quality food and the staff has been making sure that foods are topped up and the areas are maintained clean and organised. I would give it a rating of 8.5 out of 10 for the rate I paid.

Disappointed with Maintenance

We stayed here a year ago and absolutely loved it. So much that we returned again this year! Unfortunately, the luxury feel of this hotel was lost in that time.

The level of cleanliness and the showing of age really let us down and unfortunately won't be returning again in the future.

The staff are fantastic and so helpful but it is clear that the maintenance of the building is not a priority.

Examples: flooding/clogged bathtubs during showers; scummy shower tiles; torn comforters; stains and splashes from cleaning chemicals on the wood finishes.

Worst of all: the wifi is essentially useless. Very spotty, have to log in and out constantly to get a webpage to load no matter which floor we were on.

Please invest some time and money into getting this place back in shape -- it was our favourite hotel in Bangkok!

Decent hotel with quirks

A decent hotel far from the main road, but with plenty of small faults that irritates me. The bedroom is separated from the study and toilet and bedroom has no power socket. The power socket was not international, built in usb port was not working, no soap tray in toilet, bathtub is designed in such a way that it's easy to cause a mini flood every time you shower.

The receptionist was Great and very helpful. The staff responsible for breakfast was also very nice and kind. I ate breakfast outside most of my stay and everytime I went outside a server would bring a placemat and silverware from inside to me. She was very, very sweet.

The swimming pool and seating was very relaxing and the atmosphere was fantastic.

My only complaint would be my glass shower door did not close all the way which allowed water to get on the floor. I put a towel on the floor to prevent from slipping when I got out of the shower. My room was 1503

A very comfortable stay (one week). Location was the only drawback as it is located at the far of Soi 20, but the tuk Turks ease that walk quite nicely. We would certainly stay again, good spacious rooms, good breakfast and good. Easy access to Soi 18 and 22 where are some really good restaurants.

Great Service

This is my third stay at Golden Tulip. The service is excellent and front office staff are very welcoming. Its location is very well located and surrounded by great restaurants. Unfortunately taxis prefer to operate without meters.

A quieter Sukhumvit stay.

Enjoyable time with great room and view and friendly staff. Location away from Sukhumvit rd meant a quieter experience. No problems as hotel tuk tuk will take you to the main rd.

Lovely place and staff

Really enjoyed our 8 night stay. The Hotel was a good 5 to ten minutes walk from the MRT station but the staff were happy to run us over there in the Tuk Tuk. Room was a good size with plenty of furniture. Swimming pool is nice size and not to crowded, plus they was served food and drinks there too.

I had a good 5-nite stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable; the room was spacious for its price and wi-fi reasonably good. Generally Sukhumvit area is convenient for travelers. Only minus point for those who cannot walk is that the hotel is located a good way down the Soi; not a problem for those who walk a lot and/or travel by taxi/tuk tuk.

Home Away From Home in Thailand

This place was amazing! The service and friendliness off staff made our stay even more comfortable. The location was walkable to Old Town and the Night Market! I would most definitely stay here again!

Poor quality of service

Hotel and hotel Location is good. But support staff is poor. We are asking for water in 8pm but they can not provide. Iven did not bother to inform us. Finally I purchased a water bottle from out side at 11.30 pm.
