We were warmly welcomed on arrival, every time we came and went. Always nice to be noticed. The property is otherwise ok. The design theme is a mystery. The walls are thin. Happily, a significant noise issue was resolved by the staff without incident. The climate control unit was noisy, typical for the bulky floor model left over from the 1970s… The location is great for this price point, on and off the metro system with ease. The neighborhood is lively and met our needs outside the slate of events we were in town to attend.

It’s fine. Not special. And we were satisfied with fine.

Facility: We arrived late on a Thursday and had an easy check-in. Hotel has an area where you can purchase some snacks and a microwave to heat up any leftovers that you may have.
The Room: We were 3 adults and a child. The beds are full size, so a little snug. There isn't much space to store clothes and keep your luggage out of the way. The toilet handle had to be held down to flush, but not a big issue. There is a mini fridge that kept our drinks ice cold! Speaking of ice, you get that downstairs in the lobby.

Overall the location is close to stores, the subway and delicious restaurants! 15 minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and you get complimentary water from the front desk if you ask for it. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved my room. Staff were great but not clear directions on food. I believe my package came with food for 2 extra dollars but it seems I was given that option and that’s okay. I know for the next time. Overall, not a bad choice when traveling as family with kids.

• The staff — especially Angelica Gonzales, Front Office Manager — are the true MVPs of this property. We encountered a couple of issues with our room, and both Angelica and the team handled them quickly and efficiently. Their responsiveness and professionalism really stood out.
• The location is excellent. Being from New York, I’d describe this area as Brooklyn’s version of Times Square. You’re right in the middle of everything — shops, restaurants, and theaters are all within easy reach.

Cons:
• The room was on the smaller side. We booked a king-size bed, and the space felt a bit tight for it. If you get up in the middle of the night with the lights off, be careful — you might stub a toe.
• There was no breakfast option available, only coffee.

For starters, when we arrived at the hotel after 4pm the room wasn't ready. We waited until just after 5pm before we could go to our room. The room had a very musty odor. We let it go and just went over to Target for spray since the windows don't open. Fast forward to that night....around 1am our neighbors came. The walls are paper thin and they were completely belligerent and loud. We complained to the front desk. Nothing was done. At 2:30 the noise continued. We then asked for a room change and were told no. Because the front desk told the people next door that we complained....the neighbors turned it up a notch and were louder for the next hour. Banging on the walls. The front desk did nothing. I wouldn't stay at another Aloft if somebody paid me.

My room was paid in full three months before I checked in. Nonetheless, three days after I checked out, my credit card was again charged by the hotel, this time for over $200 more than my original room rate. I tried to contact the hotel several times but got absolutely nowhere with staff. I am now in the process of trying to settle this directly with my credit card company. Would not stay at the hotel again.

The room was not clean. There was a stain on the sheet. I called the front desk to let her know and she tried to be helpful. Someone came up and just gave us sheets to change the bed ourselves. We called back down and apparently the room attendant didn’t know how to change sheets and no one else was around. Some of the sheets they sent up had stains on them too. It was too late to find somewhere else. We picked a sheet with no visible stains and laid on it until early in the morning and checked out early.

I was given the wheelchair accessible room and the shower head was leaking with no water pressure. The heat did not work, the room was freezing. I was given a portable space heater because they didn’t have any vacant rooms.

Besides those issues my overall experience was excellent.

I had a very quick check in, the front desk staff was friendly each time I had to encounter them (check in, ask about ice and check out). My room was very clean, other than some random sounds I put off as being the elevator (my room directly across the hall from the elevator), it was actually really quiet. The elevators were extremely fast, so that was convenient. The location was great. As a solo female traveler i also felt very safe.

The staff was amazing! Without even asking for it, they checked us in early realizing that we likely didn’t sleep flying in overnight from the west coast and arriving very early in the morning. Our need for a good nap before hitting the town was anticipated and accommodated. Everyone from front desk staff to the bartender, to security, and the driver we booked through the hotel to take us to the airport when we left was helpful, super friendly, and professional.

The location is in a great part of Brooklyn with lots of restaurants, coffee, and shopping nearby. The Brooklyn bridge is an easy 20 minute walk from the hotel and there are multiple subway stations within a few blocks of the hotel, getting you into Manhattan in 15-30 minutes. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The rooms are clean and relatively spacious for NYC. I would definitely stay here again!

I had a nice stay overall. The facilities are pretty basic, but everything was clean, and the body care products in the room were surprisingly good. The location is great, super convenient, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The staff were also really courteous and helpful.

The only downsides were the thin walls (you can definitely hear your neighbors) and room service being a bit slow. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.

When you walk in the carpet looks really old with borders literally warned out. The hallway walls look ugly and the rooms are not very clean. Staff is friendly. It reminded me of staying at motel 6. Very disappointed cause i paid almost $300 per night. They cleaned my room but never replaced towels i had to call 3 times and waited hrs before i could take a shower cause i didn't have a towel.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in New York! Big room, very friendly staff, clean property. There is a park right in front of the hotel, and a shopping center with Trader Joes, Target, a big Primark, and a food court. I heard NO outside noise at night. Exceptional experience!

Miserable and vastly overpriced hotel. Noisy bar on roof with loud heavy metal music propagating down the elevator shafts to all rooms. Poor acoustic insulation of rooms, in the ones adjacent to the elevator shafts you can hear the constant swishing of the elevators passing by. Sinister room decoration with walls painted dark almost black blue. Aging decoration with paint chipped off in many place. One of the window shades was broken and could only open half way, further increasing the darkness of the room. Outside the window, a rope hanging from the roof was constantly moving back and forth and dragging on the glass. Minimalist bathroom supplies, missing shower gel, only brought on second day after repeatedly asking the front desk. No instructions on how to access internet posted in the room, I had to use my hot spot. Rooms are not made up unless you ask the front desk every morning. Elevators carpets are outright filthy.

The only complaint I have, is when I checked in Friday night. They had overbooked, so they sent me to another property. But otherwise everything was fine. I was back at Aloft the next evening.
