The room smelled like urine. I had to complain and request a change. The AC didn't work either. The property is very old i guess!. The staff was very nice. ENES was very nice on the front desk. The only thing property had going for it was its nice staff.

Mustafa, whom I think is one of the managers, is very helpful. The hotel is centrally located, a short walk to the Bazaar, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Its an amazing Hotel. However, the first room they put me in, Room 111 is absolutely horrible. Its right above restaurants and the noise is VERY VERY loud and kept us up until 3am! Horrible. They should NEVER put ANY guest in that room. The next day they moved me to 302 and that is when the stay became wonderful.

The hotel was within a few minutes walk to the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque - so very convenient. Also, convenient for the Grand Bazaar, Egytian Bazaar, and the Bosphoros. The hotel staff could not have been nicer. Any issue they dealt with immediately. Only negative would be the size of the room - but that seems to be fairly standard in Europe. Overall I would recommend this hotel

I couldn't see anything from my 2 windows, only stairs. So, there was no view at all...The breakfast is poorly comparing to other hotels in Istambul. The location is great and the staff at the frontdesk too. But the noise wakes you up. There was noise from guests and from the lady that cleans the room with the vacuum cleaner. There is a lift that was good. and the view from the breakfast is not so nice either as there are many buildings.

The hotel is close to tourist attractions and has a good breakfast buffet. Only challenge is the access road to hotel is closed during the daytime. You have to carry your luggage to the Main Street, not a convenient process.

After the first night we had to buy water, we had to wash our coffee cups in the bathroom, we were told we had to wash them ourselves. The room was small for 4 people and was told that our luggage cannot fit.

L'hôtel est juste très bien situé. Le petit dejeuner était horrible. On l'a pris à l'extérieur. La chambre était trop petite. Il y avait une fenêtre qui donnait sur tous les climatiseurs. Le bruit était insupportable. La chasse d'eau ne fonctionnait correctement. Les parois de la douche était trop petite donc la salle de bain était inondée après chaque passage. Des plinthes cassées. Bref je ne recommande pas cet hôtel!

I have had good expectations about this hotel due to high overall hotel score but I was really surprised.
My impression:
-Hotel room was much smaller than advertised. My hotel room in Budapest was only 14sm but was still bigger than claimed 20sqm room.
-Room was dirty and had to be cleaned again, hair on bed side, bathroom cabinet and one inch of dust on a wardrobe
-Worst breakfast I have had in my entire hotel experience and I travel fair a bit.
-Hotel was renovated during our stay but it wasn't even mentioned when I booked hotel on hotels.com
So, we had to keep blinds and windows close at all time since hotel was covered in scaffolding

Location of the hotel was really close/walking distance (2min walk from Sultahahmet Cami) to food,basilica cistern, Ayasofia, and even grand bazaar.

The room came with toiletrie(soap, shampoo, conditioner), cotton, comb, and even disposable slippers which was nice. The bathroom was really tiny and lacked proper venting due to which there was mold on the showerhead.

Breakfast was on the covered rooftop room which provides beautiful views of the city. The selection was also good with various cheeses (panir), bread, eggs, yogurt, cake, cookies, cereal, tea, juice, and such.

The hotel staff was extremely helpful in introducing the room facilities and explaining the services they can provide, including tour guide and airport transfer services. However, the hotel itself is small and old. Breakfast was quite undesirable with few choices. My room does not have a window either, which was not expected.

Three couples just spent 2 nights here and loved the location near to Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque and a tram station just around the corner. Its in a very quiet street with many restaurants 100 metres away. The accommodation is modern style, and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was adequate but not extensive. Coffee was good.

Very helpful staff who make immediate and reliable transportation and tour arrangements, restaurant suggestions, activity suggestions - you name it! More than the facility itself, the staff there made our experience truly memorable, they really took care of us! We stayed two nights, were out of town for two, came back for another night -- the treatment was the same, courteous, professional, helpful, service oriented. The rooms were clean - the layout of the room was peculiar in one case - but certainly clean and comfortable, good wifi connections, quick response for anything we wanted. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well with a view of the top of the key sights from the room. Very good overall!

Ayasultan Hotel had many positive qualities. The front desk staff were amazing! Extrememly helpful and friendly, spoke very good English. The location of the hotel was also great. Within walking distance to all of the sights in Old Town. The breakfast was good and the rooftop terrace was quite lovely with a nice view of the city. The rooms were small but very clean and comfortable with private bathrooms. HOWEVER, we stayed at the hotel in MAY 2014 and there was construction in the hotel immediately next door. The noise started promptly at 8am and one night did not stop until almost midnight. If you have interest in booking this hotel, which I would do again, call in advance to make sure the construction is completed. The noise was problematic and unfortunate.

It was a little difficult to find it in the beginning as it is off the main road but once we settled we enjoyed our stay very much. It was a quiet, clean, well located, safe place. lots of sightings are near, in a walkable distance. The tram/metro line is 50 m away and very comfortable to move around in the city. The staff speaks English and is very helpful. We had variety of restaurants and shops in our neighborhood so we found the hotel and the location very convenient for a leisure trip.

Great location but poor rooms and service

The hotel condition and the rooms are of very poor quality. The rooms are really small, badly designed with very uncomfortable beds. The TV is tiny with a remote which is not working. There are no windows (unless you get an upgrade which will cost you an extra 35 Euro /night). So if you are stack in the room due to rain for something, try not to commit suicide.
We asked for an iron, a broken one was given to us. We called back and complained. They said they know it is broken. The rest are all given to other rooms so we were asked to wait. When the shift changed to 10pm-10am guy, we asked again and he give us a brand new iron. Same thing with a power-adapter. We asked and they gave us one which was broken. We asked again. We got another broken one. So we ended up going to the store near by to buy one.
Try no to stay there. For the same price or even less you will get better hotels.

Ayasultan was the perfect hotel.

1. Perfect location - mostly everything was in short walking distance - Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand bazaar, Topkapi palace, Basilica Cistern; so many good restaurants and shops nearby; and if you're in search for the perfect Turkish delights, go to the Spice bazaar instead - shop 21, which was about a 25 minute walk; and also important, the neighborhood was fairly safe.

2. One of my main priorities when staying at a hotel is cleanliness and this hotel definitely exceeded my expectations!

3. WiFi was totally dependable - not in and out like others; you didn't have to keep logging in or anything. Excellent reception!

4. Friendly and helpful staff.

5. Super comfy beds and pillows!!!

6. This wasn't a priority for me BUT I couldn't help but love how chic and nicely decorated the rooms are - so modern and color-coordinated! And loved the bathrooms.

7. And best of all - this hotel is affordable and reasonably priced, those on a budget (like I was) can enjoy this hotel!!!!

I would definitely stay here again and may even consider this place for honeymoon!

I booked into this hotel again after our very positive experience last year. We booked as a large family group - 3 double rooms. Once agin the hotel and staff lived up to their very good reputation. Most staff were VERY helpful and the response to any requests was immidiate and positive. I would like to particularly single out the three front desk staff/managers who were always smiling and very professional even when working very long shifts due to staff shortage as a result of the Bayram holidays. One request for a room change was immidiately seen to. Thank You!
Any negatives? Only minor issues. The breakfast selection was not as good as last year and the staff attending to breakfast could be a bit friendlier and more responsive. One of the junior staff charged us for the courtesy drinks, maybe through ignorance of the rules. Would I book again? Most definitely! and will recommend this very fine hotel to all my friends and family. Keep up the great work!

Location and price are unbeatable...

We had a few small issues with noise, wireless access and hot water - all resolved quickly and efficiently - but nothing that could detract from the cleanliness and comfort of the room, friendliness of the staff, unbelievable location or unbeatable price. If price is more important than luxury then I would strongly recommend the Ayasultan.

I am a single traveller. I found my room to be clean and comfortable with pleanty of room. The reception people spoke english well and were very helpful. They have a laundry service that is quite reasonable and the room was very quiet, The hotel itself is in easy walking distance to all the main tourist attractions and close to the sultanamhet tramstop and lots of restaurants. All round a good stay.

We had a pleasant stay here, very grateful for the free 24/7 air conditioning in the late July heat of our visit. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable. This isn't the most luxurious hotel we've ever stayed at but every downside had its up: breakfast didn't have us leaping out of bed each morning but the rooftop view was stunning; the staff's English wasn't as good as most of the waiters we encountered but everyone was very nice, smiley and genuinely warm. All in all, so long as you're not expecting the Ritz, the Ayasultan's great for visiting the historic parts of Istanbul/Sultanahmet, minutes' walk from the Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and close to the Grand Bazaar, plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops and wonderful parks.

My huband and I stayed at this hotel some 5 years ago and thought it was amazing, sadly even though it has been refurbished the standard has declined . The most important thing I have to say is that I stayed in room 307 with my daughter this time. We arrived at night and were exploring the room , my daughter opened the very low window thinking it was a balcony and went to step out onto it, she could so very easily have fallen to her death, We have remained shocked by this even now and strongly advise you to put locks on these windows. Breakfast was also a disappointment, dried up food , no cold milk, no bread. Although when asked the one member of staff who was very busy did bring the things when he had time but it was too late by this time. in fact on our last morning we decided not to bother and went to one of the restaurants for a very enjoyable breakfast. Previously the girl on reception arranged tours and excursions for us, nothing was initiated by the staff this time although they were pleasant enough. I don't think we will visit this hotel again.

POSITIVE: very good location close to Yerebatan Cistern, Grand Bazar, Hagia Sofya, Blue Mosque, Cemberlitas Hamam and tram. Friendly and helpful staff, room fairly modern, WiFi, clean, breakfastroom at topterrace both inside and outside, got us tea in the middle of the night.

LESS POSITIVE: no view at all from our room (felt like we were in a bunker), much noise from other room when they used water/took shower, dirty carpet in room.

OTHER: Minibar in Euro= a bit expensive, breakfast ok according to turkish standards. Only last day offered omelette

Staff muito gentil, disponíveis e falam inglês. Hotel bem localizado entre as duas Mesquitas (400m) e o Grand Bazar (600m). Muitas lojas, restaurantes e ponto de tram nas imediações. O quarto triplo é de bom tamanho. Os móveis são novos, a cama é boa e a cabeceira azul é linda. A TV é pequena, só tem programação turca e o sinal não estava bom. Tem frigobar, chaleira elétrica e água disponível. O problema da 1ª noite foi o frio. O ar condicionado desligou e estava abaixo de zero na rua. O piso próximo à porta-janela estava gelado. Avisamos na recepção, eles arrumaram o ar, mas perto da janela continuou frio. O banheiro é novo (precisa de um pouco mais de cuidado na limpeza), tem bancada e a água do chuveiro é boa, mas o box é muito apertado. Se derrubar o sabonete, fica no chão. Se encostar na torneira, o chuveiro desliga. Pedi troca de quarto, mas todos os banheiros tinham o mesmo tamanho. A recepção tem bastante espaço para convivência. Tem sala de depósito de bagagem, com balança. Tem bar na recepção, oferecem chá, café e água o tempo todo e não cobram nada. Café da manhã é no 5º andar, com vista para o palácio Topkapi, Mesquita Hagia Sofia e o Bósforo. Sobre a comida, minha impressão não foi das melhores. Só 2 tipos de pães, doces pareciam secos, 2 sucos sem identificação e muita salada, além de café, chá e chocolate quente. Possuem serviço de transfer do aeroporto (EU 100,00 ida e volta para 3). Motorista e funcionários do hotel nos ajudaram com as malas.

Personelin ilgi alakası iyiydi. Odaların ses yalıtımı kötüydü. Yuz havlusu eksikti. İçme suyu bitince lobiden kendimiz aldık hep, oda temizliğinde koyulmamıştı. Kahvaltısı fena değildi. Ulaşım konusunda sıkıntı yaşamadık.

Fählt die Sprache beim personnel sie waren nicht Seher helfreich
Hotel und Service gar nicht wie beschreibung
Laut weil die fangen frühe beim putzen und sind Steher laut
Auch die Zimmer sind nicht larme geschützt das hört man alles beim Nachbarn oder draußen
Bettwäsche nicht gewechselt ganze Woche trotz war ich fleißige beim bakchich oder Getränke Geld
Ich war Seher enttäuscht

A EVITER !!

Malgré la bonne volonté évidente du personnel, rien ne marche dans cet hotel:
- télécommande de télé HS, mauvaise image;
- détecteur de fumée éblouisant: un flash aveuglant toute les 30 secondes; j'ai du demander qu'on le recouvre.

En outre en matière de vue, la fenêtre s'ouvrait sur un mur !!!
Et la fréquentation de l'hotel faite de gens bruyant et mal élevés rendait le sommeil difficile le soir (en plus des détecteurs de fumée...)
Au petit déjeuner pas mieux: le jus d'orange c'est de la flotte et le café a un goût de purin
