Our go to place to stay whenever we’re in Istanbul (provided the rooms are not sold out). Excellent location do very close to the tram station and the major visiting sites. Their breakfast is among the best in Istanbul with so much variety. Rooms are not large as most others are due to the location but its clean. Great place to stay.

This was a really lovely place in the heart of downtown. Everyone was welcoming and professional. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to look down on the city from the balconies. We received a discount for the restaurant right downstairs, which I thought was good! Within walking distance from everything. Mosques - 5 to 10 min. Cisterns - 5 min. Grand Bazaar - maybe 15 to 20. This area felt very safe as there were people around all the time. Stores and restaurants open late…until around 1am. Street car close by. Highly recommend taking shuttle from and to airport. Hotel person can arrange. It was super easy and convenient. Airport is absolutely huge….take their recommendation on time to get there. (Plus traffic) (Havalimani)

Staying at the Anthemis Hotel in Istanbul was an incredible experience! The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district, just a short walk from iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. The convenience of being able to explore so many major sights on foot made our trip even more enjoyable.

The staff was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful, always going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Our room was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed that made it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the city. The view from the rooftop terrace was stunning, offering a lovely panorama of the Istanbul skyline.

If you’re looking for a well-located, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Istanbul, I highly recommend the Anthemis Hotel. It’s truly a gem in the heart of the city, and I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!

Change the door looks to normal locks.

Good views for the breakfast rooms, and the adjacent restaurant was one of the more popular restaurants in the area with hotel guests get 20%.

Room was comfortable, although could have done with a larger flat surface to put bags on.

Negatives about the room were the strange key pad room lock, which did not feel secure, the in room safe was not bolted down and did not work, and there was a lot of noise when people moved around the corridor which transfered into the room. Simple changes like a normal look for the room and fitting a sound insulating door to the room would have made a big difference.

This is a small boutique hotel in the Heart of Sultanamet. I loved the proximity to Sultanamet Square. Our room had an excellent view of the Blue Mosque. The staff were very welling and helpful.

The AC was turned off, and the room was very hot. The staff provided a standing fan, which was not convenient due to its loud noise.
The rooftop breakfast platter had plenty of options and had an amazing view of Istanbul city.

Anthemis Hotel is right in the centre of all the happenings.
Tourist attractions, eateries, sweet shops.
The staff is very attentive with lots good information.
The breakfast on the scenic roof terrace also very good.

The good:
Our room was very clean. good buffet breakfast with many selections; the breakfast area is on the top floor and has a very good view of Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya; the attendant in the breakfast area was very pleasant and polite. The porters were polite.

The bad:
Our room was very small. Even with the windows closed, the noise from the nearby restaurants and bars was very loud until 2am. We encountered 3 dofferent front desk guys during our stay, only one was very helpful, the other 2 were not.

Loved the hotel and the very friendly staff! Location is perfect and central, you can walk to the train station as well as to the Blue Mosque. All the restaurants are footsteps away. The view during breakfast on the terrace is beautiful, the breakfast itself is just ok, not many filling options especially for non-Turkish folks. Private airport transfer is worth it compared to taking the bus or metro, much faster! The standard room we got with a king bed was nice but definitely a little tight, wish it was more spacious. Also it’s pretty noisy at night, since the restaurants are open pretty late, so it’s not for light sleepers but I’m not one so I had no issue.

Friendly efficient check in before noon was greatly appreciated- quietest lift I’ve experienced for a long time, spacious room with large comfy bed and an amazing view- one or two little annoyances- shower screen hit shower head when opened but main problem was lack of Wi-Fi which was totally useless and worked for a few minutes then disappeared for hours on all my 3 devices, tip - have a glass of wine or beer in hotel restaurant where you get 20% off already reasonable prices and Wi-Fi works superbly- hotel recommended for gr8 staff, superb restaurant breakfast with view to die for and location one minutes walk from Sultanmet tramline one station but Wi-Fi useless

The location of this property is excellent if you're interested in seeing the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, the Egyptian Bazaar, etc. All of these sites were just a short walk away. The hotel staff was all friendly and helpful. The restaurant connected to the hotel had delicious food and friendly staff.

This hotel has a great location - walkable to most attractions (Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, etc.) and plenty of good restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had a good breakfast on the terrace with great views of the city. The room was clean for the most part. My only complaint would be noise at night, but otherwise a great stay!

Amazing hotel find

Staff was amazingly wonderful most escpecially Erkan who helped us with all our needs, from booking transporation and tour recommendations even balloon tour in Cappadocia, recommending restaurants and giving directions to sites. We got upgraded for two nights. The roomview was spectacular with the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque greeting us every morning with the sunrise. The breakfast at the rooftop is a wonderful way to start the day.

Arrived here on a late Sunday evening was greeted by front of house staff who were nothing but VERY HELPFUL HONEST GENUINE PEOPLE. Straight away helped with luggage to the room did not wait for a tip or anything. Stayed here for three nights and the staff did everything they could to be as helpful as possible and are just really nice people. Especially in Istanbul where everyone sees you as a walking ATM machine the staff will help you as much as possible and inform you what to look out for what to avoid to insure you have an amazing experience. They do this without looking for any tips or an agenda. Without the advice and information from the hotel staff my pockets would’ve been much lighter and I probably may not have enjoyed the experience as much. They recommend places they themselves would go to with their significant others this is very important especially if you are a couple or travelling alone. They helped us avoid being in any uncomfortable situations and the one unfortunate incident we experienced at a local place called Nars brasserie upon telling hotel staff what had occurred without hesitation they rang the restaurant within seconds demanding an apology. Breakfast here has a good variety and tasty which saves you spending more money elsewhere and also has amazing views that in itself is an experience waking up in the morning having breakfast taking in views such as the blue mosque. Location is perfect!

The hotel location is very ideal for those visiting the old town. It is within 5-10 walking distance to all main attractions and the train station is literally steps away. Great view from our room and the top floor dining room. Many restaurants just outside the hotel to offer delicious food. The bed is very comfortable and floor newly varnished. Staff very friendly.

The hotel is a bit old obviously. The bathroom in our room smells although the ventilation fan was changed on our arrival day. Very limited TV channels available.

Overall, we had a good stay.

Great Hotel at a very convenient location in the Sultanahmet district, most places you want to visit are within walking distance. Very friendly, helpful staff, made our stay truly enjoyable. Breakfast is fantastic, and the view from the terrace is terrific. Be advised, though, that the Hotel’s main entrance is at an angle with the nearest street and many inexperienced taxi drivers might drop you off somewhere else because the GPS location is not very helpful in either Google or Apple maps.

Added bonus for Sporean, Malaysian & Indonesian visitors is that there is a Malaysian restaurant Nur Muhammad about 50m walking distance from the hotel.

Very much enjoyed my stay here. Best thing about the hotel is the location. Walking distance from all the major sights & very near to a tram station, also lots of shops & restaurants nearby to choose from. The staff are very friendly and helpful, as I found al the locals to be. Highlights are the breakfasts on the roof with great views of the city and the location. I found the rooms a little smaller then the pictures suggest, but good and big enough for me. Rooms have everything you would normally have in a modern hotel, but the decor did look a little tired and worn in places. Word of advice when trying to get t the hotel for the first time. The hotel is not next to a road, it is located in amongst a few different shops and restaurants near to a road and is hard to find if you have not been there before, and allot of taxi drivers wont be able to find it either. I had an airport transfer service which was able to take me directly to the door, but would have had real problems trying to find it on my own. Overall I very much enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.

Excellent location - walking distance to most of the main tourist sites in Istanbul, and lots of places to eat around there.

Worth getting uber to places if you’re not able to walk a lot, but it’s difficult to get uber next to tram lines. This is fine if you’re planning to use the tram to get around.

Hotel staff very friendly and happy to make recommendations based on preferences.

the location was very very good. it’s close to the tram station and tourist sites.

the room was enough for 2 persons. the important thing is it’s clean! the bathroom
is also clean and it has a bidet !! plus points for us! :)

the front desk in the morning and evening shift and the bellboy were kind and very helpful.

breakfast was normal buffet breakfast. when we have to leave very early in the morning, they were kind enough to give us packbag for our breakfast.

my only problem was that you can hear everything coming from the hallway but other than that the hotel was great !!

Great Hotel, Great Location!

This was a very nice hotel, and only steps from the Sultanahmet train station.
There’s no view, if that’s what you’re after, but it certainly doesn’t matter. You can cross the street and be in front of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia.
The breakfast was very good. Nice mix of American and Turkish food.
My only problem was that the shower only had hot water. But other than that, this was great!

Mixed feelings but good overall stay

This hotel was very reasonably priced. The decoration is slightly dated in comparison to western European hotels and perhaps could do with touching up. The staff were dressed in polo shirts which came across as informal but perhaps that's cultural. Had problems with my heating also due to the oversensitive air-con. It malfunctions when any settings are changed. Staff couldn't repair.

Benefits are good wifi, nice breakfast, good customer service ( the staff even got me a local travel card, so I could use the public transport). The location is brilliant, can walk to Hagai Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. Would stay again.

The Anthemis is 3 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque in a small traffic free square in Central Istanbul. You can not get better than that! The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Full marks. The rooms were comfortable, although we found that those at the front of the hotel could be noisy. Excellent showers, although the room was rather lacking in shelf space for own toilet accessories. Excellent choice of cold items for breakfast, and airy feeling room. We were very pleased to have found this hotel and will certainly use it again in future trips to Istanbul.

Perfect location, great staff

Perfect location right in the heart of it all. Most attractions are in walking distance or a tram ride away. Hotel staff were very helpful, room always kept clean and breakfast offered was great.

Superb location for all sites in Sultanahmet. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia less than 2 minutes away. Grand Bazaar 5 minutes away. Plenty of eateries in locality - Turkish and McDs and Starbucks etc. Staff extremely helpful. A very positive experience.

Great hotel in the middle of old Istanbul. Close to sights, restaurants, and shopping. Recently renovated and beautiful. Staff friendly and wonderful. We will stay here again when we come back to Istanbul!

Perfect location for important sites and transpirt

We arrived quite early and received a warm welcome from the receptionist who offered us breakfast .
The staff went out if their way to be of service, even buying our first tokens for the tram rides. So many restaurant, souvenir shops iytside the hotel.
The water pressure is wonderfully strong...

Great stay in Istanbul

I would definitely stay here again when visiting Istanbul. The hotel was fabulous. It is not a huge luxurious hotel, but it is a small boutique hotel full of charm and hospitality. I stayed here with my 3 children, ages 16, 11 and 8. We had 2 rooms next to one another. Although the room was a bit small, the location more than made up for it. If you take the public transport from the airport (train and tram) it is literally right in front of the Sultanahmet tram station. It was walking distance from all the major attractions. And when I say walking distance, I mean really close because my 3 kids don't like to walk much. Blue Mosque was right in front of the hotel. Grand Bazaar was hardly a 10 minute walk. It was the perfect location. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Also, there is a new turkish hamam adjacent to the hotel and it was so relaxing. I had my reservations about going, but so glad that I did.

Small hotel, unbeatable location, closed to everything from public transport to most cultural and tourist attractions. Internet is excellent, breakfast is o.k. Staff is very nice, always welcome guests with a smile.

Excellent location! Easy to get to by taking the subway from the airport and then a street car. The hotel was very clean with great variety for the included breakfast. Wi-Fi was very helpful and there were every a few tv stations in English, though we pretty much just slept in the room. The bathroom was great! Our window view was of the blue mosque, what a site at night. It was a little cool to open the door to the Juliet balcony, but having one was a nice touch.

Hotel staff were generally helpful, but some more helpful than others. I was a little disappointed that they wanted to charge me 4 lira a minute for a collect call to the credit card company, but used the wifi and Google Hangouts to dial an 800 number free.

Hotel seems to still be under construction or renovation as there were finishing touches missing, and construction on the floor above us which thankfully was not very loud and never at night.

Small hotel recently opened. Located in the very center of Sultanahmet. Close to many touristic attractions. Tram station just a step away. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Average breakfast. Cosy atmosphere. Very good restaurant. Average breakfast.

Newly remodeled hotel in the center of Old City.

Newly remodeled hotel in the center of Istanbul Old City. 5 minutes walk to all the major sites like Cisterns, Hagia Sophia, Blue Musk, etc. Great service and tasty breakfast with good variety of food. The staff was speaking good english and trying very hard to make us comfortable and giving directions to the tourist sites. Cons: deluxe room is very small with no room for luggage, don't even think of getting small room for 2 people; television had only 1 English channel despite of hundreds channels in other languages.

Hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. The hotel was very close to most of the major attractions, restaurants and to a major tram stop. The hotel was modern and nicely decorated with great a great shower. The free internet was fast and easy to setup The rooms were very small with minimal storage and no luggage racks. The cable TV service did not have English versions of BBC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, SKY or any other common English language programming. The complementary breakfast was good but only included local cuisine.
