Staff very accomodating and gave us the room on arrival at 1130am, even though official check in was at 2pm at no extra charge.

Perfect location for our 1 night stay.

Room was small and cosy enough with a fixed heater /AC unit provided.

Our TV did not receive any channels at all, so small negative here.

The plug socket fittings in the room 25 were loose in some places and need repairing as does the adjustable shower fitting which would not stay in position and just kept falling to the lowest position, but as we were only there for 1night we coped with it.

Room was very spacious and comfortable. Found the bed a little high to get into but I have short legs. The staff were wonderful. I had trouble with my mobility scooter and they worked on it and were so helpful and kind.

We faced the Blue Mosque and the views were great and it was in a good location.

This hotel is centrally located for shopping, restaurants and the historic attractions. We had a birdseye view of the blue mosque.

Hotel is picturesque, charming and quaint. The rooftop restaurant is nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a variety of breakfast selections. The room was comfortable. One consideration is the call to prayer that is heard five times per day. Since you are so close to the mosque it can be loud.

The location of this hotel is the very best - right on hippodrome plaza. Our room faced the plaza, across from the blue mosque. The shuttle to and from the airport was great, just bear in mind the shuttle must be paid for in CASH.

It’s all about location location. It’s right on the main mall by the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, German Fountain and more. To sit having breakfast on their top floor overlooking the famous mall was so nice. The staff was so helpful and the restaurant had excellent food. We enjoyed our stay there.

Amazing location, shops were more affordable around the area. Right infront of the blue mosque. Delicious restaurants on the side street. Lovely host Mr hakem was very kind and welcoming. Room service could've been better as i noticed the bed sheets were not changed for 2 days. However that doesn't make a difference to the overall hotel. Location, location location: this hotel is right on the spot where the ancient hippodrome used to be and 5 minutes walk from the Hagia Sophia and all the action. Plenty of eating options very close by. The hotel is busy - even in the low season.
There are a few issues: first - and most importantly - the 'standard' rooms are not all equal. The first room we were put in was small and basic and a twin despite us having requested a double bed. We complained and they 'upgraded' us to a 'standard' room which was bigger with a double bed on a higher floor. So, if you book a 'standard' room you could end up with a small twin.
The second issue is related to this: they don't seem to take the VIP status seriously. I really had to push for a better room. To their credit, they did deliver it. But I felt like they were doing us a big favour.
The third issue is the distinct lack of welcome when you arrive. A small point, but reception really doesn't seem to care. (When we arrived they.offeted a welcome drink which never arrived). No one offers to assist with you bags. Basically, you're on your own.
All of that said, the location is fantastic.and the rooms are warm and clean. The room staff are exceptional and make up somewhat for the reception staff.
Breakfast is standard Turkish and crowded. But overall, a pleasant stay in a clean, functional hotel.

A little gem perfectly placed for sightseeing

Hotel is in an excellent position for sightseeing being opposite the Blue Mosque and very close to Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace. The room was fine if a little small. No where to leave a suitcase open and there was no chair to use the desk for writing or applying makeup! However, the staff were very helpful and we did enjoy our stay.

We stayed at Terra Cave Hotel for 3 nights at the end of November and we loved it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged our airport transfers and all the tours we did while we were in the area. Breakfast was great, with omelettes made fresh on order. Location is close to the centre of the town and you can walk to all the shops and restaurants in 5 mins. We only stayed for two days but we had a great experience in the short time we were there.

Alzer hotel is in such a great location. It’s a very cute hotel right in the square that faxes the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. Felt very safe. Was very clean. Breakfast was really good. The Alzer Hotel is directly across from the Blue Mosque and on the Hippodrome, which is all flat. Istanbul is very hilly, so this was a fantastic location for me, who has mobility issues due to a bad knee. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay. The food was exquisite, and all the staff were the best I have ever encountered... nothing was ever too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the Alzer Hotel, and we would love to return one day and stay here again.

This is the place to be if it’s your first time and you want to be close to all the tourist sites. The whole area is semi-closed off with very friendly tourist police. Wonderful little hotel, clean, nice decor. . Would love to have spent more days there. The buffet on the top floor is amazing - Great views. Close to tram stop. Very walkable. We were welcomed by a lovely gentleman at reception who gave us some information on Istanbul and the history behind the Pasha Suite we were staying in. He was very helpful. The room itself was beautiful, there was a hallway in the room with the bathroom, bedroom, and living room with a spectacular view of the blue mosque, hippodrome, and part of the Bosphorus. The rooms were kept clean and the breakfast room above had spectacular views with a nicely sized buffet. The staff were all so lovely and I look forward to coming back!

Me and my sister stayed at laser hotel on our first trip to Istanbul! This place was amazing. It’s exactly as described in the description and pictures. Istanbul is very hot in the summer and their AC worked so well. The location is in a gated community surrounded by tourist police. It is quiet at night away from the loud city. All the main attractions, museums, mosques, grand bazaar are all at a walking distance. The hotel is clean and we felt welcomed. Will stay here again :)

Amazing one night stay

We enjoyed our stay here in the executive room, although it was only one night. We were minutes away from Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Staff was helpful and friendly. The rooftop breakfast area was great and breakfast was delicious. The only drawback was the inaccurate room description which stated two king beds and a queen bed. When we arrived, there were only two queen beds. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The setting is absolutely perfect: opposite the Blue Mosque with a wonderful view from the breakfast room. The breakfast was extensive and varied from day to day. Most of the staff were very friendly, though we were a bit put off by the concierge who spent so much time promoting day trips to guests, that on two occasions we had to wait to get our room keys.

5 star hotel but..

We booked a double room for 3 nights at Alzer Hotel. This was our first time visiting Istanbul, however when we arrived at the hotel we were told the guests who were occupying our room couldn't check out (we were not given a reason) and we would have to stay at another hotel for 1 night and then come back to Alzer hotel for the other 2 nights. After some protesting we agreed to go and see the other hotel, which was nearby, before deciding. The other hotel was fine so we decided to stay in it for one night.
The following day we checked into Alzer Hotel. It was then we realized this was a far superior hotel in all respects, the cleanliness, breakfast, comfort, service etc. The management of the hotel apologised for this episode and gave us a refund of €25 and a plate of fruit, nice gestures but we felt this did not make up for the inconvenience caused or the fact that we missed a 1 night stay at this wonderful hotel.
Would we stay there again? Absolutely, this hotel is perfect in every way. I would just advise management if there are guests who are unable to check out for emergency or other reasons that they would be offered the alternative hotel, rather than the new guests who have just arrived into a foreign country tired and exhausted from the long trip.

Very safe as our hotel is within the security zone for the Hagia Sophia and the blue mosque tourist areas. Very clean too though the toilet exhaust fan was not functioning. This is a nice hotel at good location, accommodation, stuff and food. The location is at walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hagias Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Topkapi palace and to many other historically attraction sides. We had dinner and breakfast and coffee & teas which we were totally satisfied with what we had in the meaning of food, service, quality and the price-wises. The entire rooms were renovated. The legendary breakfast is served on the roof with a beautiful view. The breakfast menu has several items as fresh, tasty and in excellent quality as we experienced in 2014; the quality has not been changed, if not better which was one of the reasons pulled us back to Alzer. The receptionists, breakfast room and patio service personnel are always nice and polite. If we come back to the historical side of Istanbul, we will definitely chose to stay in Alzer, highly recommended.

My wife and I will only stay at this hotel when visiting Istanbul. We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. I have been to other much more expensive hotels but the service in these hotels doesn't compare to the service at Alzer. The staff at the front desk and in the upstairs dining room as well as the cleaning staff have always been very friendly and have done their best to help us. The hotel is literally right across Sultan Ahmet Cami, and so we would simply cross the street for our daily prayers and Jumm'ah. From this hotel, you can walk to Aya Sofia in 4 minutes and to Topkapi easily. A whole line of superb restaurants are less than 5 minutes away. The tram is less than 5 minutes away, and with it you have easy access to all of Istanbul. We are going back to this hotel this fall. We can't wait; this hotel feels like our home away from home, and we have become close friends of the staff.

The standard room was basic in its amenities but was clean, quiet and comfortable for my short term stay. The hotel's location was ideal - walking distance to Sultanhamet, hamams, the metro train and the Grand Bazaar, to name a few. The staff was terrific and very attentive to the needs of its guests. From the front desk, to the ground floor café, all the way up to the rooftop breakfast room, staff was courteous, and spoke very capable English as well. The view from the breakfast room was very nice, overlooking the Bosphorus and a portion of Sultanhamet. The breakfast offered a good variety of items, hot and cold. Overall, this was good value for a short stay.

First off, I had picked this hotel after carefully reviewing multiple other hotels in the area, so that in itself should say alot.

Location/Security - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Grand Bazaar are walking distance. Also, you’ll feel secure with the police stationed in front.

Breakfast - Breakfast was delicious and loved the fact that I was able to enjoy the view of Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia, and the sea from the terrace view.

Staff - Staff and management are
equally important as location. I’d like to call out Zehra (manager) along with Mart and Ali who were amazing my entire stay. I had read multiple reviews mentioning her name and now I know why. From the moment I booked the hotel, she anticipated our needs, and went over what services they offer, one of which is the reasonable roundtrip private shuttle transfer. I liked having peace of mind that when I arrived at the airport, there was no need to fight with taxi drivers (taxi scams) nor take a lengthy train/bus/tram/ferry, especially with all my luggage, and on the return, not missing my flight. I also had a special request for my wife and Zehra was very accommodating. In the 7 cities I stayed on this trip, she definitely stood out!

Room - We had an amazing view and the a/c was great, bed was comfy, room was spacious. It was cleaned everyday. They also did a great job with laundry services. You have complimentary coffee and water.

We would definitely stay again and recommend to others! Thank you!

Once you enter the hotel you feel how cozy and welcoming it is... It captures the essence of the historical area it is located at. It is close to Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque, few min. Walk. Has several restaurants around it with beutiful views. Mr. Omar, the hotel receptionist is welcoming, friendly and helpful.. He always has a sweet smile one his face which adds up the beauty of the place. My family and I stayed in a family room which consist of 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for our 5 family members. It was very clean, and beding is super comfortable. Highly recommended.

Amazing location in the heart of the Fatih district, inside the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia precint.

The room was nice but the best part might just be the breakfast on the top floor with a panoramic view of Istanbul!

Amazing hotel, small hotel with the quality of one of the biggest hotel chains. They speak english and know a lot of places to visit. They clean every day, great location in Istanbul, is in the center of the main attractions with the noise of the tourism or big city loudness. Excellent

Fantastic location

Great hotel next to blue masjid and Sophia, there is no parking as hotel front covered by security of sophia masjid. Great and clean location. Perfect breakfast

Think twice a about staying here.

This is NOT a 4* hotel, at best 2-3 star.
It was noisy and uncomfortable, given a room with a view of a back alley. With some sort of building works going on.
I would be reluctant to stay there again.
Sometimes blatently overcharging above advertised prices on menu prices.
Staff were ok but loads of room for service improvement.
Management made little to no effort to ensure customer satisfaction. We paid upfront that may have been our mistake.
However it's location was the only thing going for it, in the heart of all the sights.
