I booked a double King Bed room for my wife and I and when i arrived we were given a room with twin beds, not the romantic stay we was looking for. I was then offered to upgrade to a room with a king bed (which i had already booked) for an additional £20. Also offered a sea view room for £80 which i politely declined, then this was immediately reduced to £50, declined again and then offered to me at £40. I felt forced into paying for a double bed so paid the £20 where the room was a little smelly so i just paid an additional £40 and had the sea view room, but if i originally had the king room from the start i wouldn't have needed to moves rooms in the first place or forced to pay anything extra. Joanna on reception was not helpful at all.

All that aside, the hotel was great, breakfast was lovely and bar was good in the evening. Unfortunately didn't have enough time to make use of the gym / pool facilitlies.
Parking for the night was £29 (with a discount code provided by reception)

Overall, great stay but did not get what i orginally booked and forced to pay extra for an upgrade.

I am also a Hilton Honors Member and reguarly stay in the Hilton chain, but this counted for nothing as i booked with Expedia.

When checking in at the hotel I wa abruptly told that I cannot claim any loyalty points for the hotel stay because I booked through a 3rd party app.
So what 3rd party? Airlines and other hotels don’t have issues like this. Ridiculous policy, when booking a hotel consideration of brand and loyalty definitely forms part of the decision. Then this and no point earned…

This was our first stay in this hotel and we were very impressed with the establishment, in every respect, but especially and particularly because every member of staff we encountered was polite, listened to what we said, and were totally helpful. It was quite noticeable that the staff were well trained, well motivated, and keen to help us during our stay.

The hotel looked amazing.

Very clean.
And excellent value.

However, my quibble was the pool and spa.
It seemed dark and gloomy and lack lustre down there.
Badly sign posted.Labyrinthian. it was not a comfortable place to be.
It was clean, no issues there but not as great as it could have been.

We recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole and had a lovely overall experience. The location is fantastic, right on the seafront and within easy walking distance of Brighton’s attractions, restaurants, and shops.

Our room was comfortable and clean, and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay.

The only downside was the check-in experience. The hotel was extremely busy, and there were large numbers of guests waiting for their rooms and room keys. Our room wasn’t ready until close to the stated check-in time, and when we did receive our key, we were initially assigned a room that wasn’t what we had booked. However, after returning to reception, the staff resolved the issue and were lovely to deal with despite how busy they were.

It really seemed that the team had their hands full during peak check-in time, so the delays felt more like a capacity issue than a service issue. Once we were settled in, the rest of our stay was excellent. We’d happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great seafront hotel in Brighton.

AC in our room wasn’t working with that hot weather. The steam and sauna wasn’t working the jacuzzi is you have to wait 6 minutes to work it’s insane . Wasn’t a good experience at all.

Location was beautiful, hotel was wonderful, staff were fantastic!

I usually go cheaper and more simple. The only reason I went more expensive this time was availability of parking and the pool due to 33 degree heat.
Parking was an additional £29 and the pool had been extremely well used that day.

Having said that, I couldn't have been more grateful for the air conditioning.

I did get a great night sleep and the showers were great.

Excellent Location, Very nice building.

We stayed for one night during the May half term. Booked a room with 2 kids and arrived at 2pm, and was told check in is at 4pm, which is fine and it is stated on their website. What annoys us immensely is at 2pm the staff did not take the opportunity to tell us that pool access needs to be pre-booked, and kids are not allowed past 7pm. By the time we were informed at 4pm, surprise surprise all slots for kids are full and the next available is 12 noon the next day. We booked the hotel with time in pool being a high priority agenda for our stay. We would not have stayed in this hotel had we know this policy before. It is worth mentioning that I filed an complaint immediately with Front line staff Erik and he handled it well.

Also worth noting is the breakfast is very busy and the admission is handled in a very chaotic way with only one staff at the check in, resulting in a super long queue.

These two incidents each took one star away.

The hotel was lovely and was in a great location. Breakfast and dinner was nice. One slight issue was my room was left open by a cleaner who did not return with the towels they were supposed to, so I had I not returned to my room, the door would have been left open. I told a member of reception staff who said a manager would call me but never received the call at all. So I would not advise leaving any valuables in the room unattended. Anyone could have literally walked into my room and helped themselves. Other than this mishap, my stay was very nice… and the swimming pool, sauna and steam room was an excellent treat.

The only thing which I didn't like was the food in the bar. Wife ordered a margarita pizza which didn't have a enough cheese on it. Korean burger wasnt good.

The air con lowest setting is 18 degrees, not cool enough.
There were crumbs on the floor.
The mattress was very firm, wobbles when other person moves and is noisy.
Check in is slow and busy, can’t hear staff so everything has to be repeated. Reception area isUncomfortably warm and the revolving doors too close to busy reception.
Excessively expensive with mean room facilities. You have to be a member to get water.
Bar prices expensive (£11.25 for glass prosecco £10 plus service charge).
Outdoor bar area dirty and untended, we sat for an hour and no tables were cleared of food or drinks.
Some staff arrogant, others pleasant.
Over rated, overpriced!

Checking in at 4pm is a real travesty. I cannot imagine why a hotel would have such a ridiculous policy especially with such an early check out time. The que’s to check in and breakfast were embarrassing. I’m afraid this is not the standard Hilton should be accepting and if they are then they are not worthy of anything greater than a 3*. Things needs to improve and I would start by hiring more local staff as the ones we met were lovely and helpful. Unfortunately you could see the system had failed them and the guests

Room was good size and kept clean. Only downside of our stay was the evening bar menu which was limited and if you are staying for a few days could be more varied.For the price charged you would expect a fridge in your room and the safe to be more easily accessible rather than on the floor. Breakfast was excellent and good service.

Breakfast was very good, it should be for £18 ! But iguess is the going rate. We had a sea view balcony room, i felt there should be a fridge and a few more useful bits in the bathroom. No water or Internet unless you join the meropol club. Staff were very helpful and friendly, can't fault them.

Amazing range of breakfast items. The room was clean but the A/C temperature could not be adjusted and it was hot. The bathroom was clean but there’s was no storage at the sink and the shower stall was small. The location is perfect for a short break so I would stay there again and bring a portable fan.

This was our second visit to this hotel. Lovely hotel on the seafront, spacious rooms, plenty toiletries in bathroom. One of the best breakfasts I had in a hotel in long time, really good selection of items hot and cold. We didn’t use the spa facilities so can’t comment on them. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Beautiful room with lots of space as was the shower room. Both really clean and tidy. All the usual amenities, tea and coffee facilities. Also tins of water were given to us on arrival.There was a large widescreen tv on the wall. The room was overlooking the seafront and it being a lovely day it was great to stand out on the balcony to watch the world go by.

This is a lovely location - easily walkable to most places in Brighton. Upselling is a little annoying but having a sea view was pretty good. We stayed over Saturday night which we expected to be noisy but wasn’t. Staff very friendly and willingly helpful.

We stayed two nights ahead of the Brighton Marathon. The room was clean, the bed comfy and the included breakfast was good. Also, it was great that we could have our dog in the room.
I was disappointed that the room didn't have a mini fridge, as we had brought some special pre-marathon food which spoiled because it needed to be kept refrigerated.
I was also disappointed that we had to pay another £54 for two days' parking at the hotel, on top of the £700+ we'd already paid for bed & breakfast.

We booked a twin room, which was confirmed at check-in however we were told that the room had a king size bed. Took 3 phone calls and two and a half hours to get housekeeping to ste the room up as booked.

At check in a gorgeous black man called, Henrich I think that’s his name,very welcoming very friendly, engaging, professional and looking absolutely gorgeous. First morning breakfast was fresh and delicious. Second and third morning breakfast was a let down. Tasteless wrinkly tomatoes, tasteless mushrooms beans look like they have been on stand for too long looking dry at the top, no yoghurt. On the second day I went out with my son who has special needs and a medical condition, we didn’t stay out for too long because he was over heating due to his condition. Upon arriving upstairs my room key refused to open the door, my son is screaming panicking and I needed to go to the room asap to shower him so he can cool down, I asked the housekeeper to help me open the door, she refused I showed her my key she refused again , I called reception and told them the situation but the receptionist couldn’t understand what I was saying, at this point my son is hysterical , screaming scratching, then the housekeeper realises the situation was serious she opened the door. I went in , took care of my son . Soon after i went to the reception to sort my keys out. A receptionist called Gionni large built with glasses, I told him my keys need to be activated, With arrogance and disrespect he tells me that without proof of id he will not activate my key, Manager stepped in, confirmed details on system and issued 3 news sets of keys.

A Fantastic Stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole

Just back from an outstanding two‑night stay at the Brighton Metropole from Friday to Sunday, and I can honestly say it exceeded our expectations. Brighton was blessed with glorious sunshine all weekend, which made our stay even better — but the hotel itself was the real highlight.

A special thank‑you to Kostas (Guest Services – DTHBM) for arranging Room 307 for us. The room was excellent: spacious, comfortable, and complete with a balcony offering stunning sea views across Brighton beach. Waking up to that view was unforgettable.

The manager and wider team were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. The pool facilities were great, perfect for relaxing, and the Met Bar had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere — ideal for casual drinks and dining. Service there was super friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed spending time there.

A big shout‑out as well to the reception team, especially Erik and (I believe) Ellie, for their warm service and, of course, the free warm cookies — a small touch that makes a big difference.

The hotel’s location is perfect, offering easy access to Brighton’s attractions, the seafront, and everything the city has to offer.

I can absolutely recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, and I’m hoping to book another one‑night stay soon, budget permitting. A brilliant experience from start to finish.

As you would expect from a hilton hotel everything was excellent from check in till check out. Staff are all friendly and professional, hotel is clean and tidy, breakfast was superb with everything you ever wanted available.
The pool is an added bonus and free for guests as long as you book which is easy, I didn't use the rest of the health club but I am sure that was as well done as the rest of the hotel.
