The staff is very attentive and helpful from assisting to arrange airport transport to making recommendations and reservations for restaurants. The rooms are comfortable but a little dated. The location is in a safe and busy upscale part of town within walking distance of transit.

It is an absolutely wonderful hotel to stay near a lot of shopping and restaurants . Staff is excellent and very friendly. They go out of the way to help you. Property is clean. We were two adults and two children and it suited us very very well. There are a lot of options close by for shopping and restaurants. The overall vibe is great. The tram is close by very easy to get to the touristic places. Overall, we loved this place.

We had the most wonderful stay for three nights. The place is clean, tastefully decorated, and our rooms were spacious and our beds comfortable. The hotel is across the street from Varuna Cafe, which offers a great breakfast. The concierges were super helpful. We arrived at the hotel very early and were offered an early check-in without an extra charge. The hotel recommended local places to eat, which was very helpful, and helped book a shuttle and also helped book a ferry ride. The concierges were knowledgeable and friendly.

The hotel is just off the main road (Istiklal) and on Kumbaraci. Note that Kumbaraci is a very steep street; we walked down it often to catch the tram but walking back up it was a little tiring. The area is hilly so I’m not sure you could circumvent walking up hills if you are staying in the area. There is also a metro station close by but we never took the metro.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The accommodations were very comfortable for a group of three, however, what stands out is how helpful and kind the staff was throughout our entire stay. Fatih and MK took such great care of us; Greeted us with a smile every time no matter what time we came in or went out. They went above and beyond to give us information about the city, arrange transportation, and make sure we had whatever we could think of including a mobile wifi device for our use. We will definitely stay at this property again. 🤗

Great pre-cruise hotel, and reasonably . pricedRoom was spacious and staff were very helpful and all spoke English which made it easier!
Location was the best …just off istiklal ave!
Hotel had no amenities or on site restaurants, but that was OK as very close to the heart of the action.
One complaint I had was insufficient lighting in the bathroom.

We arrived very early in the morning and a couple of days prior to arrival the hotel contacted us and the arrange our transportation and we were made so welcome as soon as we arrived kept the luggage until the room was ready and we were able to have a rest that day.Best location ever 👍
The staff is lovely they advise us to have breakfast just a cross the road and that was a wonderful !!!!!the food the ambiance and the staff are amazing
I can thank enough the staff at the hotel everyone was so nice we really felt at home 🥰🙏💕❤️

We truly enjoyed our short stay. The hotel made our transportation arrangements from the airport and it worked out great. They also set us up for a tour of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our guide, Sam. He was so informative and helpful. The hotel was always more than happy to offer us recommendations or assistance with whatever we needed. It was our first time in Istanbul and we really appreciated their assistance. The hotel was comfortable and located right by a walkable street with shops and cafes. I would recommend staying at this hotel!

This should not be a Expedia VIP property. First room I received was unacceptable for multiple reasons. If it’s low price, go for it. The location is amazing, but do not expect VIP quality. Don’t think because the ratings are high that it’s because of the hotel itself. It’s mediocre at best but in a very good location. If you do stay, don’t get the standard room. Upgrade if available.

Perfect little hotel in a perfect location. I was a solo traveller and everything I could want or need was within easy reach. It's a busy area but if you wanted to head out to explore the local area without too much interference from pedestrian traffic I would recommend hitting the pavement before 7am.

Staff were super helpful and the place was clean. Awesome shower pressure and almost instant hot water. The list goes on.

I'll be recommending to friends and wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future 😍

I would 100% recommend the Story Hotel Pera to Istanbul visitors for 3 key reasons.
1. Location: The hotel is steps from the top of the Karakoy-Beyoğlu funicular and near Şişhane station, on a quiet side street off of Istiklal.

2. Service: The staff are extremely helpful. On check-in they gave us a curated list of restaurants in the Istanbul area (including some Michelin-starred ones!). And, they are extremely thoughtful. On the last night of my stay, I was greeted with a surprise birthday cake left for me as an extremely thoughtful gesture from the staff.

3. Attention to detail: I’m a picky sleeper, but unlike most hotels that give you an assortment of whatever pillows they have available at any given time, this boutique provided each guest with a soft and a firm pillow. The mattress was also firm and bedding was comfy.

Stunning location- would stay in that area again. Hotel staf v helpful and friendly and room perfectly decent and extremely quiet considering the local life, but no daylight in the rooms we had. We also had to request a different room as the one given was much smaller, with an uncomfortable sofa bed for my son rather than a second bed as photos showed. We were moved without drama after one night when a room became available

What's the story? Better than Oasis.

I wasconcerned that an hotel parading its values uses Nestle coffee, when Nestle has a long history of contributing to infant deaths in Africa by encouraging new mothers to abandon breast feeding and use formula, which needs water. The water is often contaminated so the children get dysentery and die.

The rooms were comfortable, clean and quite. The staff was outstanding!! The location was fantastic! They also provide a service for pick up and drop off at the airport at 49 E each way.

It may not be the best place to stay if you are asthmatic. They have an perfumed atomizor placed in the lobby that constantly released very strong fragrance throughout the lobby, stairs, hallways, and elevator.

Wonderful stay, will definitely choose this property the next time we are in Istanbul. Can't beat the location. We had a room overlooking the street so it had a little street noise but not significant. We are light sleepers and did not need the thoughtfully included ear plugs. The hotel arranged airport transport at a very good price for us, and a portable WiFi hotspot as well. I had a roaming plan but it would abandon me at times, so it was very useful. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, full of excellent tips. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay! Our flights to Athens got cancelled due to strikes, so we had to scramble and make other plans. Decided on Istanbul and made reservations easily on Hotels.com. The staff were amazing, they gave us a hotspot we could take with us when exploring for free WiFi, gave recommendations on where to eat and things to do. The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. All for a very reasonable price. We couldn’t have been happier than here for our short stay here!. It is also just off the Istaklal Cadessi, so right in the heart of a main tourist road leading to several major attractions. Convenient to catch the tunnel or metro or walk down the hill to the shorefront walkway.

The Story Hotel is now our go-to in Istanbul. It's location is fantastic, easy walk to Galata or Taksim or Karakoy. The food in the area is superb. The shopping is either main street up market shopping, or side street boutique. The best thing though is the staff. They were friendly, went out of their way for us, even upgraded us as they had the ability to do that and get us into the room early from 2 long flights. We couldn't recommend them more and we'll be back.

The story with a happy ending

I picked this hotel due to previous reviews and the closeness to some bars and istikal street and a train station.
On arrival we were lucky enough to get the top duplex which suited is for the extra size. Check in was very friendly and efficient. The staff even offered to arrange a tour for us along bosphorus river was a nice touch.
Complimentary water was also provided.

If i return to Istanbul i will definitely look to stay at The Story Pera again.
