A very nice hotel and great staff, the only problem is that my room 502 does not have a door in the toilet/bathroom, if you go there somebody else sitting in the living room can simply observe all your experience up there, which is maybe ok but for some people requiring some privacy it is a disaster. What you have is a piece of glass like door that is drawn from side to side and vere covers the full stretch of the doorway, so if you drw it to the end of one side, the other side displays a two inch gap and the other way round.

I had an exceptional stay at the Mercure Barcelona Condor. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and truly looked after. I had a lot of basic things to sort out—directions, local tips, transport questions—and they were incredibly patient and helpful every time.

What really stood out was their thoughtfulness on my departure day. My flight was early, and I was going to miss breakfast. Without me even asking, they packed me a picnic to take along—such a kind and unexpected gesture.

The hotel itself was clean, modern, and well-located, but it’s the people who made the experience special. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made all the difference. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Barcelona.

Everything was amazing. Beautiful stay and lovely staff. Our chrome cast never worked and we asked for it to be looked at but it never was. That’s my only complaint, that and the kids running and yelling outside our door. Everything else was lovely. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We received a free upgrade to a superior room. The room was spacious and clean. All our requests were handled promptly. The neighbourhood was safe with plenty of supermarkets, cafes and bakeries.
There were some nice restaurants nearby but mostly we went to other parts of the city.
Travelling to the airport with public transport is not so easy. Although the hotel is close to two metro stations we needed a few transfers between different lines.

I liked the breakfast at this hotel however there were several problems.

Shower did not drain properly and the room got flooded. They fixed it however a foul smell kept coming from the bathroom throughout my stay.

I asked for an iron and board. What they gave me

is the cheapest portable $5 ironing board from Ikea and ironing using that is next to impossible. The iron itself was in terrible condition with lots of dirt stuck to it, it ruined my shirt. They did swap the iron with a good one but the damage was done.

They have a gym but it only opens at 9AM which means no chance of using it before going to work. I used it one evening and found the treadmill is the cheap type for home use and stops randomly. Unusable.

I don't recommend this place and won't be coming back.

In general the hotel is very nice, the bath room needs to improve, you need to add, more hooks for the towels the shower head is very uncomfortable, but in general your hotel is very nice, and the front desk people is ver nice and helpful another small problem was with my sister, she felt sick an the from call a private doctor, unfortunately, she needs more experience, she give a wrong diagnosis, we end goin to the HM Adellfos, very nice place and more profesional than the doctor Delgado, she needs to be more profesional, she make us petrified w the wrong diagnosis, I know this is not your problem but maybe you can suggested another doctor for the future, thank u very much, Mrs Poulidakis.

The hotel is actually not a 4-star hotel. The staffs were not friendly and nice, so disappointed with Mercure hotel. I've been to Mercure hotels in other countries, and they were not like this, better service. No coffee and tea in room, but you can get it at the lobby. The room was OK, a bit small but comfortable.

Good short stay in Barcelona - in a clean modern hotel.
But -
No tea/coffee machine in room.
One lift of two out of order for our 4 nights stay.
Tea/coffee machine (free) in reception area - often not working - no water- but enough free sweets !
Pleasant and courteous staff - but reception staff insisted on calling for a taxi to the airport without explaining the price would be double that of getting one on the street.

Unhappy and unsafe experience

Marisa who checked us in was great but stay was horrible. Had to change rooms twice, first because overhead pipe broke in hallway outside room flooding hallway. Then in second room water seeped through wall between shower and bedroom. I slipped on wet tile floor in bedroom and could easily have broken a bone. Accidents happen but Management offered minimal apology and no attempt to express regret for the inconvenience and even danger with a refund or even chocolates. I would never stay here again even for free!!

Friendly staff and comfortable environment. Our room has a separate bedroom & living room with a sliding door in between. Since we were traveling with two kids, they pulled out the sofa bed. My son and I slept on the sofa bed and it was not as comfortable as the main bed that my wife & daughter somehow always beat us to each night.

Facility was clean and they have pastries in the lobby in the morning. Several neighborhood eateries & a nice upscale Japanese restaurant, Wagokoro, within walking distance. And they are all very good. Metro & bus stops within a block or two will take you everywhere you need to go. La Patisseria down the street has great pastries & desserts.

Supposed to have a great rooftop lounge, but we never made it up there. It’s in a quiet neighborhood but still easy access to anywhere in the city.

Wi-Fi was a little spotty as we can get to most of the sites, but had some trouble on some sites and yahoo email accounts.

We only stayed one night at the Mercure as we had an apartment for our holiday and we chose this hotel because of its proximity to the apartment. We had a very comfortable stay. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, our room was huge (bedroom was completely separate from living room), the air conditioner was powerful and quiet, and the view over Sarria was lovely. We didn't eat at the hotel but our kids were over the moon about the free candy in the lobby and we appreciated the free Nespresso in the morning before we left. The room looked like it has been recently refurbished and the bathroom looked like it wasn't completely finished (just minor things), overall we highly recommend this hotel. We had tapas at La Xarca, 2 mins walk from the hotel, and it was a great find (no terrace or tourists, just a small family run restaurant with amazing food and wine at amazing prices!).

The hotel is a little out of the center of Barcelona away from the tourist areas, which made it quiet and peaceful. There are good metro links to easily get to the tourist locations in the city, which take about 15 min to reach. The hotel is in a lovely area of Barcelona, with shops, bakeries and restaurants nearby. The hotel was clean and modern, with really friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay. Very nice hotel, very good value for money, lovely breakfast.
The only thing which was strange for me: why the gym is only open from 9am to 8pm? There is nobody there serving during the day, why it can't be open 24 hours? I was in the business trip there and every day I was asking the staff to open the gym for me at 6am, they did it, which was very nice, but told me a few times that actual opening hours are from 9am. Strange:)

Disappointed in this 4 star hotel

We were so excited about this hotel because we had seen one in Nice and Majorca (I think) but although this hotel staff is incredibly helpful the hotel is bare bones. No Kleenex Tissues, no wash cloth, no complimentary water, the shower door is half glass and all the water leaks out so you have to be real careful not to slip and fall.
The breakfast is pretty amazing. All fresh, but without any daily deviations.
Location is not too good either. The set up like that of a hostel. We could not comfortably fit 2 suitcases in the elevators. They are very small.

Comfortable Hotel Well Located

Mercure Barcelona Condor is a very short walk from St. Gervasi metro station. Getting to the hotel from the Airport by public transport is very doable, although it involves several changes. From the hotel, we walked to la Sagrada Família, walked to visit Gaudí's Casa's on Passeig de Gracia, strolled down La Rambla to Mirador de Colón. In other words, hotel is walking distance to many major sights.
Staff at the hotel speaks English and is very friendly. We requested adjoining rooms for our extended family group. To accommodate this, they upgraded one of the rooms to a family room. That was super nice of them.
There is free coffee in the lobby and pastry shop nearby. Down Carrer de Balmes are a couple of pizzerias that have above average thin crust pizza, and the Fish & Chips Shop further along serves excellent fresh fried fish. So no shortage of quick eat in the area.
We recommend.

The restaurant floor is of marble or some kind of stone,which is beautiful,but if your room is located on the 2nd floor you can hear the tables and chairs being constantly moved around up to midnight and it all starts again at around 5'oclock in the morning. If you need more than 5 hours sleep as I do,get a room higher up.

A good hotel, in a quiet neighbourhood ideal for families, easy access to all tourist attractions by cab or tour bus (a few blocks away). Currently being refurbished and all rooms will soon be ultra modern. Great breakfast, great restaurant, reception and managerial staff (the manager kept our luggage in his office as our flight was later in the night. He's a keen listener and does everything in the best interest of the guest). The hotel is a member of the Accor Group and the rates are very competitive.

very nice breakfast. Good location since it very near the metro and bus stops. Careful though, they overcharged me for the number of breakfasts we took. Good thing I reviewed the bill. The housekeeper was stingy with the bathroom ammenities. The management was also stingy with the internet. They gave us only 2 passwords (everytime you go down to request) at 30 minutes each. (although it was free) The download speed is also slow. Overall, still nice for the price.

Hotel was called the Condor a month ago. I think that we should have received notification from Expedia that it had changed it name. The road it is on is very long and we were asking people where the hotel condor was but found it in the end. Overall the hotel is very good if you are on a low budget. It is three stops on the Metro to the main square in Barcelona.

Great place in an interesting neighbourhood

We stayed in this hotel three nights, mid-July 2011. It's in a real, not touristy, neighbourhood with good local restaurants everywhere close by. Lots of lovely little plazas within walking distance. Easy access to the metro, which will get you everywhere in the city in no time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms are plain but with all you need, including in-room lock-boxes.
