The photos were deceiving the hotel is very old and run down and some parts looked like its under repair but it was just a hole in the ceiling with all the pipes exposed
The bed had 4 wheels and it kept moving around the room i rolled on it or even sit on it
There’s no carpet and cold stone on the floor of the rooms it seemed clean but very run down
Staff were lovely. But i do not consider this room as a four star hotel.

I don’t think this hotel lives up to the standard of 4 stars as shown at their door, especially during my time of stay when they were having renovation going on, which caused serious issues that I don’t think they handled properly - for example, the elevator was broken, you don’t know which floor you were at unless you open the door to look, every time when you were in there the noise and the sharp move made you feel scared, and even worse, there was no clear sign to indicate which button was for opening the door or stopping the door closing, as when you try to put your hand between the door and the frame, the door wouldn’t stop closing so you run the risk of hurting yourself… but I have to say the staff was nice and helpful and I hope the problem was just temporary.

The water in my apartment was shut off. So I needed to find a place to stay for a few days. This place was three blocks from my apartment. The staff was amazing, the rooms were clean, and the pool was an unexpected surprise. Highly recommend!

I had facial surgery and stayed in my room all day. Went out each evening for dinner. Staff was super friendly, I enjoyed the bar. Found great food in walking distance each evening. Felt very safe. City bus stop very convenient. Would definitely stay there again. Pool is just lap pool, but comfy lounge chairs all around.

This was a perfect spot for us as we were visiting our son studying in Barcelona. It was close to walkable Metro stations to get everywhere we needed to go. The area itself has many conveniences for a quick bite, personal needs, shopping, etc. The hotel itself was quiet and clean. The room was better than the photos which is unusual. My only complaint would be the pillows were very thin. But the people there were very helpful. It was November so we didn’t even look at pool area so I can’t comment on that. It also has a nice looking restaurant but we didn’t try it out. But if you need a place to stay in bustling Barcelona for an inexpensive stay this is the place.

The location is not bad. The hotel is very old and run down. Rooms are not very clean and the bathroom full of Mold around the bath tub. Felt very uncomfortable using the bathroom.
Also rooms have smoke smell. We had to change rooms as the first one was full of cigarette smell

Breakfest ok, swimming pool looks ok but it was too cold to use it in November, lobby ok, staff ok, but all the rest terrible. The room was very worn out, curtains with holes, plans on the bedspread, fungus on the wall in the bathroom, splintered door frames, eco leather chair rubbed out. I was afraid to touch anything. I reported to the front desk. I received another room, in which there was no fungus on the bathroom wall because there was siding. Well, but I could not deal with the odor from the bathroom. I will definitely not choose this hotel again. Max 2 stars with a big minus.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and clean, and very comfortable beds! The pool area was a real bonus, and was a lovely place to relax after a long day seeing the sights! In terms of location it is well located near a train station- with most journeys take around 25-30 mins!
Overall we had a great time, and would recommend to anyone!

The hotel was great for my wife, daughter, and I for our visit to Barcelona. Very clean and in a good neighborhood. It was an easy walk to the subway and a 10 minute subway ride to get to the Centro area. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast buffet I’ve ever had.

Our stay was incredible - upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was a pleasant surprise! The suite was very spacious, with a large jacuzzi (although this wasn’t working) and another shower area. The decor around the hotel was very unique - especially the breakfast area/furniture and overall ambience.

Our experience of Hotel Catalonia 505

This hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. However our room was not warm due to heating being controlled remotely according to calendar dates not the weather. We were promised a heater and blankets neither of which appeared until I asked a 2 nd time and we got lovely warm blankets. The room was a good size but only one chair. Nowadays one would expect USB charge points in the room. We were able to borrow one adapter from reception. Our room was at the front of the hotel and very noisy with motorbikes passing along the road, tho not during the night.

We loved staying at this hotel. We stayed for almost 2 weeks due to our son’s soccer tournament. The front desk was very kind and due to the way we had booked our stay, upgraded us so we didn’t need to change rooms while we were there.

I will be using this hotel again!

My son and I stayed for 3 nights over an F1 weekend. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, location is 30 mins away form the centre by foot but we felt safe. We had long days so little chance to sample the hospitality but the clientele looked happy. Beds are comfortable and had the best night sleep ever (possibly helped by 30k steps a day ;-) All very clean though there was lipstick on one of the glasses in our room and a small leak above a light fitting in the bathroom (305), which I didn't mention (my bad!). That said, I will be going back!!

4 Star? Not quite. Almost there though.

Staff was very attentive and helpful. Zero complaints there. Place was clean and well maintained. Some minor issues with safe and refrigerator in room not working, but staff resolved them in a timely fashion. Is it a 4 star hotel in my opinion? No. But they are almost there. Close to everything we wanted to do and we felt quite safe in the general area. Mostly quiet after dark as well. Overall a very good experience. I would stay again.

This was my second stay at this hotel (first stay in 2016). I highly recommend! There are restaurants and stores in all directions. Hotel is a short walk to metro station and a quick drive to the airport. The staff are friendly and welcoming. A staff member even helped me map out each metro trip I wanted to take. The room was incredibly clean and modern.

The place is great and so are the people who work there. My only small complaint is we had 4 single (twin size) beds in our room, one for each myself, wife, and 2 kids. They pushed two beds together which is really not good because the result is a huge crack down the middle. Not comfortable. Better to have 1 queen and 2 twins or 2 queens.

Second time in a Catalonia Hotel, and the last.
They charged 24 hours before the deadline my credit card, it said that I could \"modify\" my booking, but only CANCEL option was shown. So I lost 200 Euros because my plans changed.
Although the staff made all the effort possible to make a better stay, the elevators are not working 24 hours, they use the same elevators for staff and guests, and the elevators are tiny. Echo in the aisle is just disturbing, anything can be heard inside the rooms, and the parking is really limited. So the alternative is to walk 300 meters to the nearest parking and pay 24 Euros a day.

Really nice property. You won't be at the city centre but metro is about a 5 minute walk away and bus stop around the corner. Nice area, friendly and knowledgeable staff, lovely rooms. Would stay here again without any hesitation. Breakfast was decent (just make sure to pay at the front desk to save yourself 5 Euro).

On arriving was a little worried as people had said it was dirty, noisy and there was a problem with things going missing from rooms, we didn’t experience any problems at all with this!!
The hotel is just 10 minute train ride from the centre. If we go again we will stay a little more central, but didn’t find it a huge inconvenience. Was disappointed to find no tea bags or milk in the rooms, but a kettle and cups were provided?! We should have asked but spent very little time in the room as wanted to get a full weekend in!
Over all... don’t always believe what you read on here.

The hotel was well priced, clean, the staff were friendly and the rooftop pool was very nice. The wifi worked really well too.

The room size was fine; not particularly big but not too small. Out of 70+ TV channels I think there were less than 5 that were in English.

Overall my stay was very pleasant with my only real negative being the air conditioning. The lowest it would go was 25 degrees; cool enough to sleep in but in a country like Spain I expect to come to my room out of the 30 degree heat to a much cooler room.

It's a good modern hotel that is within easy reach of the historic downtown: 5 mins walk to a subway then 8 mins ride to Placa Catalunya. It is quiet at night, but there are places to eat nearby. The neighborhood feels safe and calm.

Wonderful 25th anniversary week

This is an excellent hotel in the heart of the city. We stayed there for our 25th wedding anniversary. My beautiful wife of 25 years really liked the rooms and the location close to our son's apartment close by. It's close to some amazing restaurants and parks. We loved our stay in Barcelona at the 505. Definitely will be coming back.

One outstanding front desk receptionist, Inmad who was very patient and helpful. He was above and beyond when we asked for directions, and all kinds of information about dining , tours etc. we had a group of 27 and bombarded him for many requests. He went through them with big smiles in his face. However , another more heavy set gentleman with glasses was very impatient and crumpy. Bathroom was old . Overall you are paying for what you get. Location is convenient for public transportation.

Hotel is 10 mins walk from metro station which L7 line will take you to the end stop at Catalunya. Room is very good size with big closet and a safe, We have 2 beds and easy to join them together and quite comfortable. Very nice hotel, clean friendly. The bar area was also very nice. Really no complaints about the hotel. I would say, if you are visiting Barcelona to go to the city centre, normal tourist things, then this hotel could be abit far out, I would have preferred a closer hotel anyway.

Nice hotel in nice neighborhood

I was there for more than 10 nights. Service was very good and friendly. Rooms were clean and nice with everything you need but not fancy. My room had a view down the street which was very nice, but the layout was a a bit tight so you had to be at the window to really appreciate it. They had tour groups coming through every day which meant a big bus outside and lots of teenagers coming through. That wasn't a negative though. I recommend breakfast a local coffee shop, of which there are a few, to spend less money and get a nicer meal. My only real complaint was that the cleaning ladies were not cleaning the shower floor and you could tell as some of the grout was dirty. I had to specially ask them to clean it. But otherwise, the rooms were squeaky clean. They also never refilled the little coffee station when I used the supplies. Anyway, I enjoyed the stay and would stay again. It's also a great neighborhood away from the touristy areas and instead where people actually live. Taxis are super easy to get. The ride to the airport is about 30 Euros. The metro stations are a little more of a walk but you can get the bus closer by. Wifi worked pretty well. Sometimes it was slow, but mostly fine.
