The place to stay in Barcelona

This hidden gem was just a short drive into the heart of the Barcelona City Center. They had unquestionably the best and most helpful front desk staff of any hotel in which I've ever stayed. They helped get tix we needed, arranged all our cab rides (including a 3:30 AM shuttle to the airport), and every restaurant recommendation they made was spot on. The room was very large and very comfortable. I would be hard pressed not to stay here again on any future trip to Barcelona.

Overall, loved the property and the room -- big fans of our stay! Warned of some incoming noise with construction, which was much louder than anticipated so limited our time with the actual hotel (we escaped the noise). could hear the other room quite a bit despite being the top floor.

Also had some issues where my key kept getting deactivated after one use (many times) which was a pain, but overall not a massive deal. Bed stiff, but big fan of the area -- if you aren't into walking a good bit or taking Ubers, you can find more hotels centrally located. This was more of a residential and local area that was great, but really depends on your needs. We really enjoyed it and it fit our style.

Expedia gave me VIP Access which gave us nothing (we didn't need parking; no breakfast or other amentites) but otherwise highly recommend.

This was a higher priced hotel. It didn't have drainage in the bath, and the sink backed up badly. The shower sprayed the whole bath. All the hotel did to deal with that was put a rolled up towel in the floor. The room was understocked, so calling for more coffee, milk, etc. was constant. The food wasn't good either. I wouldn't go back.

The hotel was a charming boutique hotel in a safe area.
The restaurant inside the hotel was excellent. We were disappointed in the local touring reservations made by the front desk to visit key landmarks in
Barcelona. The front desk was not helpful in helping us planning our day- we missed 2 tour completely and when we asked the front desk to pass along our issues to the hotel director it seemed as though they ignored passing along our concerns.

This is our third time to Barcelona, and the location is not in the thick of la Rambla but was amazing, for so many reasons. Not far to metro and to place Catalonia or La Rambla, great restaurants, great staff and relaxing. We are going back in a few days after a trip to Morocco and can't wait to return to this gem. Formula 1 fans also will find it extremely interesting

An oasis

The hotel is in a quiet location, about 15 minutes from the city. It is well appointed. We had a spacious room with a balcony. The meal area both inside and outside in a courtyard is very comfortable. The food and service is excellent. There is a comfortable lounge. The pool is not large enough for swimming. The reception was very friendly, helpful and efficient.

This is a really beautiful hotel, and the staff is wonderful. It’s in an upscale neighborhood, away from the craziness (and dangers) of the tourist areas, but only two blocks away from the metro that connects directly to the Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas. Incredibly stylish and comfortable.

The staff are extremely warm, professional and helpful- truly a wonderful group of people.

The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The area is quiet yet reasonably close to the downtown. There’s also a cafe and shops about 100 meters from the hotel so you can grab whatever you want with little inconvenience.

Best Hotel We’ve Tried in Barcelona

Primero Primera is in an upscale residential neighborhood: very clean area; good restaurants; wide streets; and still within a reasonable taxi ride of most of the sights, the beach, and downtown. The area felt very safe, and compared to the downtown hotels I’ve used in prior visits to Barcelona was way less noisy and crowded.
The balcony rooms are outstanding, and cost only slightly more. Get one if you stay here. They are corner rooms with great cross ventilation, very spacious by European standards, good views if you are above the second floor, and fast internet. Plus king sized beds, a good work desk, and lots of power outlets (why do so many hotels skimp on power outlets?). The soundproofing was outstanding once the rooms were closed up; and the AC actually worked to keep the room at the desired temperature - unusual in Barcelona hotels.
We were a fairly demanding pair of guests, and found the front desk very friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar in the hotel served decent food and drink, and was a great place to relax, especially the lounge area.
One last item that may be good or bad, depending on your tastes: the area hosts numerous flocks of three different parakeet species, due to the large number of trees in the neighborhood. One flock spent much of its day in the sycamore right outside our balcony. Fun to watch, but they could be noisy.

Great Boutique Hotel in Sarrià, Barcelona

primero primera is an excellent boutique hotel which offers just that personal charm which big chains can’t. The staff in reception, restaurant and cleaning went out of their way to help. Beautiful property with wonderful atmosphere. We really enjoyed staying there. The only catch a bit far from the center but close to the airport which helped the day we had an early flight out of Barcelona. Cabs are easily available and it’s Twenty minutes drive to center.

Our room was large and very comfortable, fantastic bathroom with walk in shower area.
Terrace balcony overlooking the garden made it extra special.
Staff were attentive and very friendly. there is a free gym for guests to use, a lovely leather seated sitting room area with honesty bar and free soft drinks available, all nice touches to make guests feel special.
Breakfast is buffet style, very well laid out with staff available to serve as required. We enjoyed our stay very much... Barcelona was Exceptional,
thankfully an ideal choice of place and hotel for our 25th Anniversary

Extremely attentive and friendly staff that went out of their way to please you. The feel of the room in the hotel overall was quite pleasing and comfortable. The location itself was excellent: clean and close to the metro.Just a minor glitch.. They did not update the room service menu or give me the updated Wi-Fi that expires after a week, and I was there for 11 days.

I had an excellent stay, the superior room was very spacious and classy, super quiet and decorated with style. I enjoyed making my own coffee every morning (I found their breakfast too expensive as it doesn't include any warm dish or eggs). The staff and Miguel especially were very kind. The pool was great for sunbathing at any time of the day. And little gym room was good too! The area is beautiful and quiet, an easy 10-minutes-tube to the center. I had dinner once but was not impressed by the food, it was ok, but nothing amazing. The bar area was nice though, and the library as well. I would definitely go back.
