Placed in a room next to a heavy fire door that people used to enter the corridor to there rooms this coursed us a unpleasant night's stay with having a 3 year old to that was disturbed on several occasions and needed reassurance to drift back off to sleep, this impacted on our sleep too. Room 318

We ate in the restaurant Saturday night my meat was under cooked this had to be sent back to the kitchen, the staff never checked if our meals were ok afterwards, we asked for our bill and left.
Suna door doesnt close properly

Breakfast was lovely pool and steam room also really nice.

The blind wasn't blackout.
There was a car alarm going off in the car park a lot.
Could hear the lift movement from our room.
The overhead shower was fantastic, strong and hot.
The pool was nice but the white grate around it needed cleaning and the walk from the changing rooms to the pool was a bit embarrassing and very cold! The toilets in the changing room smell a bit.
Breakfast was a let down - the hot food was warm at best, the baked goods overcooked and cold.
The staff were friendly.
The welcome cookies were amazing.
I couldn't pair my phone (Google pixel) to the TV so couldn't watch netflix on it.
Shame I had to pay for parking!

During our dinner the dinner party sitting next to us the child had an asthma attack in the restaurant, it was a pleasure to see all the staff provide immediate assistant to the table, bringing water, some ice cream for the young child after he calmed down, the restaurant team also alerted reception who also checked on the guest, it was a real pleasure to see how empathetic the team reacted to a guest in need even the young.

Doubletree by Hilton would be our first choice in the future

the hotel was ok to stay
however, we booked 2 rooms and reviewed as poor, as they had accepted a party on the Saturday night, and they allowed the party to be on until midnight. The noise was very loud, with strong base which you could sleep or calm down to enjoy in the hotel.
I have complained this to the reception in the evening and the next day to the manager who took the booking, however, they were just passing the ball to other team member.

I hope they could take this seriously, as providing a comfortable and quiet stay for the hotel guests should be the priority to a hotel, not to earn the money for a party but disturbing the guests.

First time we've stayed here since Doubletree by Hilton have taken over the building.
Our room was clean, and shower good, but bottom of the shower screen leaked badly so by the time you finished showering, you had a massive puddle on the floor at the side of the toilet.
When we checked in, we were asked by the receptionist what time we would like breakfast, but it was obvious the following morning that there was no real system in place; the restaurant was full to capacity, we were asked to use a table in the bar, and several people had to wait for a table to become available....what was the point of being asked what time we would be taking breakfast?
Also, the layout didn't seem to work. We have stayed at the Doubletree in Ealing on numerous occasions, and never seen such queues for food. In addition, it was noted that pastries were being kept warm right next to cooked bacon. This meant that splashes from bacon fat were landing on the pastries as people helped themselves - not good for those that are vegetarian! To be fair, we did mention this to a member of staff, who went to the kitchen and brought a fresh one out. I don't believe that such items should be right next to meat products like this and should have an area separate where there is no risk of cross-contamination.
In summary - ok, but could be much better!

We stayed for 2 nights 28/12 & 29/12 2025 The hotel is lovely, spacious clean rooms, comfy beds, amazingly attentive staff. The first night was great, unfortunately on the 2nd night, 29/12/2025 there was a huge wedding in one of the function rooms. The children from the wedding were running wild all around the hotel. No adults around, mess everywhere, noisy and just too much. We booked to spend time with family for Christmas. We booked to have dinner with my Mum-in -law and Aunt (88yrs &80yrs) in the hotel restaurant. This was ridiculous due to the noise and the children’s behaviour around the hotel. My Mum-in -law was knocked into a wall when she went to go to the toilet by children pushing pst her. There were so many of them that it was impossible to avoid them. I work out children and unseat s they were excited and just wanted to have fun. This was unacceptable behaviour. It spoiled our trip. We are extremely disappointed. When we mentioned to the reception at check out, after a sleepless night caused by the disruption In The corridors we were told the “bride & groom” had been spoken to about the other guests being unhappy. This isn’t good enough.

The bathroom door did not close correctly and we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated for breakfast. When we finally was seated there were no plates, cups, glasses, the coffee machine did not work and there was no food left. We had to have breakfast somewhere else as it was so bad. I complained to reception who said that they would refund the breakfast charge, but I am still waiting for the money.

We had a lovely stay and the room, restaurant and pool were all lovely. The staff in the restaurant in the evening were exceptionally lovely. We had a slight problem on check in due to a mix up with another family of the same name staying who had been given our room in error, however check in staff were very apologetic and quickly sorted the mistake. We got our room within 30 minutes along with complementary drinks vouchers.

Stay here every year for our annual Alton towers trip! Had a bit of confusion with the booking as kids were left off and hadn't been booked for breakfast but reception sorted it quickly upon check-in. Only problem we had was with the heating, we were out in the cold and rain all day and when we got back to the hotel the heater was off and the thermostat on the wall didn't work so we were all a bit cold. We called reception and they did turn the heating on manually but only for an hour and then it went off again. Would have been nice to have a working thermostat in the room so we could control the heating ourselves. Not sure if this was just a fault on our room or if they're all like this. Other than that good stay as usual and will be back next year!

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Will Not Return

I have stayed at Double Tree Hilton properties many times and usually enjoy the experience, but this visit to DoubleTree Hilton Stoke-on-Trent was a complete disaster. We chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Water World, where we had been to celebrate my sons 13th birthday.

On arrival, we were told there were no signature cookies because staff were “too busy” – a small gesture that sets the tone, but it never happened.

Our first room flooded within minutes of using the shower, with water seeping into the bedroom. We were moved promptly, but the new room had smaller beds than booked, making for a cramped and uncomfortable night.

Dinner was equally disappointing. The half-board allowance policy was unclear and unfair – our 13-year-old was treated as a child despite the children's menu stating it was for children aged “12 and under”. I questioned why my son wasn't given an adults allowance and was told it was down to the information provided by Hotels.com.

My chicken chow mein was fiery hot and inedible, covered in red chilli, and the hot desserts were served stone cold. Staff acknowledged the issues and tried to rectify them by waiving costs of some drinks and desserts, but by then the experience was ruined. They did send more hot desserts to the room but we'd lost our appetites.

Despite some efforts by staff, the overall stay was stressful and far below Double Tree Hilton standards. We checked out as soon as we could and will not return.

Staff friendly, pool cold at first otherwise okay other would of been 5 star apart from the start and booking in, very busy had an event on, anyway got the keys and when to room, keys didn't work so had to leave family at the door, when back down, told that keys didn't work, got new key cards when back to door cards work, someone was already in the room, when back down again and found out that given wrong room number for the 3rd time back up to correct room and correct number and all works. Other than that excellent, no apology from staff or manager.

Hotel was lovely from rooms to dinner to breakfast and the leisure centre was great also to unwind for a hour or two. Only negative was i got a cocktail that's costs £10 odds and it was just a basis drink in a half pint glass was not worth the money but otherwise was fantastic we stayed for 2 night's as went to alton towers for the short 25 minutes drive was perfect for us plenty places to eat besides Hotel as well which was handy when u have kids and the want a burger king or Macdonald's. X

Lovely hotel. Had a 2 queen bed room. Great size, comfy, iron provided and fans in wardrobe. Safe in the room too. Had breakfast and it was really good. Nice hot selection and cereals, some fruit and pastries. Pool is small but pleasant - if you have kids I would just suggest checking swim times. Some times are adults only and these weren't shown on the handout we were given at check in. Lots of parking at £7.50 a day. Near to retail park, bowling and cinema. About 20 min walk into town. Staff were really lovely in all areas of the hotel.

Quite disappointed in our stay at this hotel. Although the hotel and rooms generally were aesthetically appealing but upon closer inspection, it lacked cleanliness. Found the bath tub unclean and also found a ginger string of long hair in the bath tub (we have black hair). The air conditioning was not working in our room, and it became really hot and uncomfortable to sleep. We had spoke to front reception desk about it, there was no care, or effort to help. We paid a price for a room that included AC, so this is false advertisement. A shame about the swimming 45minutes slot too, would be great to have a bit more time. However, we must say the breakfast was enjoyable and did have a positive experience. The breakfast staff and also cleaning staff were the only friendly and polite staff at the hotel.

I was really unimpressed with the cost of this break for what I got.
Rude staff, mould in bathroom, beds were made when “cleaned” but not changed.

Did not expect to book to use the pool because of the holidays!

I had my hands full with severely disabled child and asked for some help bringing something up (I think an ice bucket) and I was told it would cost £5 tray charge. I feel like under the circumstances they could have been a bit kinder. A lot of the staff had an attitude and did not smile.

After my friend went down and said she was struggling to get through to room service after 16 calls they laughed and said the phone wasn’t even plugged in.
The same 2 questioned “why she needs an ice bucket.”

Disappointed that blue badges pay for parking if booked through Expedia.

Swimming pool is not family friendly and I was not told this going to the pool. When I came out (after literally a minute or 2) the staff said “we just presume most parents would hold their kids in the pool” as if that’s normal?

2 towels in a room for 4 people.

No bath In the family room, I presumed as per the pictures there would be.

Was wrongly told at reception that children need to pay for breakfast but when spoke to f&b manager, children eat free with an adult.

The f&b manager was lovely and so was the night bar staff that worked until 3.30am going into 17th August (sorry I forgot his name but he was probably the nicest and most understanding guy, he needs to be recognised!)

Rooms were decent. Staff weren’t the friendliest. Don’t like that there is free parking for some but charged if you don’t book direct through Hilton. Thought that was a cheek! Carpark was too busy. Struggled to find a space in the evenings especially when wedding guests at the hotel took up a load of spaces and some parked over 2 spaces. The EV chargers didn’t work. Tried 5 different ones and they all failed to connect.

This was second time I stayed at this hotel for our Alton Towers trip. It’s very popular hotel in stoke on Trent which has many shops and food places to eat out which great with family. Hotel itself is great and family rooms are amazing and comfortable queen beds. Morning breakfast is best with family also evening meal in restaurant & bar area is good. They have nice seating outside too. Overall my first choice hotel when we go Alton Towers.

I was driving from the South to the North, with my young family. A pool in a hotel is something I use to bribe my children for sitting long hours in a car. The pool is tiny compared to the size of the hotel and needs to be booked. It was not possible to book a spot in the pool during our stay, which disappointed my children.

Other issues
- faulty blind in the room fell onto my head.
- A long queue and no one at reception when I arrive (understaffed).
- parking charge was annoying, just add to room cost (it is less than 10% addition), this is equal for those driving in a car, but feels less petty when dealing with at front desk.
- when checking out, I was not asked how our stay was.

Good things
- breakfast buffet was nice
- staff did help when asked and I felt did try their hardest to make stay pleasant.

Should be called double disasters. We arrived around 5pm when we got to our room it felt like we were in a night club the music was coming right through the ceiling and we were on the 2nd floor it felt like you were in the bar you could hear the DJ speaking etc. I immediately went to reception and was told the hotel holds functions and weddings and that the wedding hasn't even started yet it starts a 7 and should be over at 11.30 I then asked 11.30 on the dot she replied well before 12am. I explained we had to get up at 7am so disaster number two comes into play they split our family suite up into two rooms when we went into these rooms we couldn't breathe with the heat I presumed the air-con hadn't been turned on it's was 27c in our room and 26.5 in the other room it was a cloudy overcast outside 16c so we rang reception and they said there is no air-con and they can give us a fan and complimentary water. Seriously avoid this hell hole we couldn't sleep a wink all night sweating, blocked nose, dry throat worse than a heat wave in Spain.

I stayed here at this hotel after a trip to alton towers,
When arriving there was a big school prom on which meant we had to park in the overflow carpark and try to squeeze through the prom guests - which wasn't ideal - it would of been nice to have a pre warning from the hotel.

I booked a room with 2 queen size beds, we was welcomed at reception at check in by a lovely lady, we was made aware that there is no air con but they have provided 2 fans for us. I really expected a hilton to have air con, the room was boiling, we opened windows and put fans on it did cool down a little bit but when checking it doesn't state online that it does have air con.

We used the pool before dinner- we pre-booked our slot due to receiving an email from the hotel prior saying we needed to. Unfortunately the sauna was out of order, but the steam room was ok.

We had dinner in the bar lounge, we ordered at the bar and the food was nice, we had a burger and chips and a chicken Caesar salad - I thought it was fairly priced due to it being a hotel.
We also had breakfast with our room, we was greeted and sat down by a gentleman - there was looks to choose from, cooked breakfast, pastries, cereal, yoghurt, toast the only downside was i had to ask for the orange juice to be topped up twice.
overall it was an ok stay.

There was no air conditioning in the room, the room was far too hot meaning it was not suitable for getting young kids to sleep - pretty stressful stay 😞

Decent option in Stoke with car park

Decent enough hotel with relatively modern features and generous car park. Stayed for one night. Service was so n so. Lacked the enthusiasm in providing details about the hotels, offerings and even breakfast. Instead you are handed a one page flyer. No real effort made on check out to ask about the stay. Suspect this level of service is the norm as experienced it on check in and check out. Totally unlike other Doubletrees where I have stayed.

Great nights sleep

Lady who checked us in was really helpful, nothing was too much trouble even though she was really busy. Restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a long gap between our starter and getting our main meal which was the only downside. We had to ask for the child’s meal to be brought as it was getting quite late. Food was hot and tasty when it was eventually served. Booking a slot in the pool was easy. Our room was clean, well stocked with toiletries, tea and coffee and the beds were very comfy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the team at Josiah's Brasserie.

Sofa beds in the family room were not particularly great for older children. If we were to return we would elect for interconnecting rooms instead of a family room.

I’ve got no complaints regarding the standard and cleanliness of the hotel over all, it was lovely. the room was also lovely and had everything we needed other than a fridge. My only winge is on a day that was around 28/29 Degrees the room temp was also set at 29, I turned it off after a lot of guess work ) but even with 2 fans and the windows open the room remained uncomfortably hot all night. We tried out the leisure suite, The pool was busy but was really nice and you got enough time in there. We also tried the restaurant, most of the food was good and you got plenty but the beetroot started was a disappointment, the beetroot was really hard. I got it for myself and my daughter to share as she loves beetroot and she couldn’t eat it so sat with nothing until mains arrived.

Apparently the Double tree’s signature feature is a chocolate chip cookie on check in, it was a shame that there were no cookies in sight as it was my cookie mad 5yr old daughters birthday and it would have made hers and her brothers day receiving one after a really long drive.
