I have rated this property highly for the accommodation and the staff however without those my rating would be lower as when I booked I requested an early check in which I know cannot be guaranteed, when we arrived at 11:50 we were told was not ready and to come back at 2pm which I did and was told the room was not ready and to come back at 4pm, the advertised check in time, all this time we as a family of 5 purchasing drinks and ice cream. We went back at 4pm to be told that room would not be ready until 5:30pm !!! When we finally got to our room at 5:30pm the cleaners were still in the room, we were told that the delay was due to the previous guests refusing to exit the room at 10am as they had a late flight. The management told me they had requested a late check in which was contrary to what we were told, my point is why if we had requested an early check in why allocate us a room where someone has requested a late check out, at no time whilst waiting were we offered a complimentary drink or ice cream.

The resort was great and so was the golfing. The staff were super helpful. We needed to change rooms due to accessibility They were super helpful. If you need to find something in the city or need help around the resort. We were there three weeks and golfed twice. The location is great for traveling Algarve.

A lovely resort if your visit is just for golf. The resort is no where near any amenities so you definitely need a car. Taxis very expensive. Very few visitors around in evening so very quiet if that’s what you look like.

Nice large 2 bed and 2 bath apartment. Lots of nice features. This is a big resort with 2courses and a nice club house book online to access better rates. Only issues. Car park at apartment was not easy to find arriving at night. There is no shop onsite for provisions. The next town is however delightful. Advertised as having 2 communal pools which reception said we're not available to us. I think they were available. Would stay again as a great base

Standards require improvement

Been to Amendoeira before and whilst service has always been slow this visit it was dreadful . We experienced 45 minute wait for a drink and service in the restaurant is generally very slow . Reception staff very good but appear unable to solve issues. The pool was not well maintained and despite reporting it to the pool staff reception staff and an email to the resort NOTHING was done before we left .The cleanliness and general upkeep of the pool can only be considered a health and safety issue . This is supposed to be a 4 star resort but at the moment there is work to do .

On a 48 hour stop over, we didn't get in to the apartment until 5.30pm (despite arriving at 2.30pm), and had to be out of the apartment by 10 am, so it literally is somewhere to rest your head, don't expect to be there during the day of arrival or departure! Would never stay again, the cleaners were still there when we arrived at the aparment, after they left, there was still a fleece in the wardrobe, and rubbish in the bedrooms.
Its in the middle of nowhere, you need to call reception to get a bus to pick you up to take you to the main reception area for dinner or breakfast, it's not nearby. As for the nearest shop or offsite restaurant, you would need a car, it's a very isolated apartment .
Nothing is designed with children in mind, sinks in the bathroom are too high for them to wash their face or brush their teeth, if you use conditioner in the shower, you are taking your life in your hands as there are no shower mats, and my daughter was left with a scratch all down her leg from the mattress in the sofa upstairs, so there was no way anyone could sleep on that - you'd be up at the crack of dawn anyway as the curtains didn't meet in the middle or block out any sunlight.
The breakfast restaurant had no aircon on, so a total sweatbox also had only 3 cereals, and no pancake like most hotels have these days - complete breakfast fail in the kids eyes. Coffee machines were left without cups, and other items were constantly running out it was chaos!

We visited out of school holidays and it was happily quiet. We liked the friendly staff but could see they did struggle when it got mildly busy at food service etc. going in late June we thought the pool was surprisingly cold, just bearable I'd say but certainly not pleasant before late afternoon. The apartment with mezzanine was lovely and really a 3 bed not a 2.

We stayed in September and we had a very good time. The staff was very friendly and they accommodated us for an early check in and late check out. We went Bed and Breakfast, and in the morning the hotel would pick us up for breakfast. The breakfast was excellent especially the fresh fruits and a variety of pastry. The apartment itself was great with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a large fully fitted kitchen and living room. We used the gym and tennis courts: the gym was small but had all equipment, the tennis courts was good. The swimming pool was a good size and quiet.
Overall, I would surely go back again.

Beautiful, large golf resort. Great sports amenities. Staff excellent and very helpful. Lovely apartment. New and spotlessly clean. Would benefit and add further to the excellent experience by some small luxury touches, eg introducing a “pillow menu” and better shampoo / conditioner. But overall we really enjoyed our family 5 night stay.

Beautiful modern accommodation

Plenty of room for family of 5 - children age 15 12 and 10. Mezzanine was a real hit with the kids. Superb bathrooms lounge area and very well equipped kitchen. Perfect location ... with a car. The drive to Armação de Pera about 15mins and around 25 mins to Caroveira ... both fabulous beach resorts.
Real top class spot ... don’t hesitate to book - best if you have a hire car.

Perfect for a family holiday

Stayed in an apartment at the resort and enjoyed every moment.

The apartment was well presented with modern kitchen, comfortable furniture, indoor and outdoor seating, a/c and two bath/shower rooms. All the rooms had blackout shutters, which was great for getting the kids off to bed! Beds were a little hard would be only criticism.

The resort was also really well presented - very clean and easy to find your way around. It is well spaced out though, so you need a car or to use the shuttle bus to get to breakfast in the club house if staying a long way away.

Club House did a great buffet breakfast that kept us going all day! There is a very small store at the resort, so you need to head to local shops for groceries.

Pool areas were clean and had snack huts and lots of sun loungers and umbrellas.

Didn't play the golf courses but spoke to people who said they were very well kept and challenging!

Nice mix of people and the staff were always friendly and ready to help. Would definitely return with the family.

Beautiful Hotel will be back

Hotel was excellent. Rooms were beautiful spacious modern and had everything you could need. Internet was extremely good and the pool area lovely (even if freezing) played both course during my stay and would say worth a visit just for the golf. Lots of families at the pool so if you have young ones there are plenty of other kids to play with and would highly recommend this place.

Only disadvantaged is it is not really close to shops so a short drive out to the shops is required if you want to cook or eat at the apartment. There is a shuttle bus to the beach but other than not a lot around the area. We had a car so was fairly easy to get about.

We will 100% be back here soon

Beautiful villa!

Our villa for our party of 4 was perfect, with the exception of a foul odor that could be sensed coming from the master bathroom. It would be noticed every time you entered the villa. The smell was that of sewer water. We never complained about it though. Mainly because we didn’t want to have to drag our luggage and other items to another villa. Besides that, we were very pleased with our villa. A few things that we did not like were...the stairs, the initial air conditioning problem we had upon arrival, and the location of the fitness area. Dragging our large, heavy suitcases up those stairs was brutal. Where our villa sat, there was no parking near our front entrance door. We parked in the underground parking and had to go up those stairs every time we went in or out. Not really a problem if you’re a light packer and/or don’t have small children. We couldn’t get any of the AC units to work when we initially arrived. We called, and it took over 3 HOURS for someone to show up. It ended up being an easy fix; however, we didn’t appreciate sweating it out for those hot summer hours. Lastly, the property is so huge that you require transportation to and from different areas of the resort. In order to get somewhere, you must phone reception for a lift. It would’ve been much nicer if there was a regular trolly schedule in place without having to make “requests.” Because of this, I never took advantage of the fitness facility. It seems to open mych later than most other places.

Outstanding place!!

This is a fantastic place to stay! I have read one or two critical reviews of the Resort and I don't know what they would need to do to please these people! Top class accommodation, great facilities, nice people, great location, spacious apartments - outstanding! Although, it's slightly out of the way, it's easy to reach by car, and the driving is easy in the Algarve!! Don't hesitate to stay here, folks..!

Fantastic location and accommodation. Villa's are very spacious and a pleasure to stay in. Views are stunning and the whole location is very peaceful. Doesn't feel like you are on a golf complex as feels very separate. Pool area great.

Definitely need a car which will give you great access to so many beaches and restaurants etc.

My family would certainly return for another holiday.

The hotel/ resort was absolutely stunning. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the apartment was. Excellent value for money. The staff were friendly/ helpful/ knowledgable, and personally made my stay more enjoyable. However the food in the Club house needs to be improved. Food was cold/ and not very nice. It was a shame. However there are pleanty of excellent seafood restaurants around 4miles away. A hire car is adviseable.

Lovely place to stay.

We stayed in an apartment with a mezzanine, this provided an extra room so you could have 3 bedrooms.

The hotel staff we all fantastic and polite, spoke English very well. The golf club is immaculate. I would say the club house bar is quite expensive and serves basic food.

You will need a car to travel around even to the club house, it's between 15mins and 30mins to the beach depending on which one you choose. Or 20mins to town or a restaurant. It takes 5 mins to drive outside the resort! The pool area is very clean with plenty of sun beds and a pool bar for refreshments. The swimming pool is incredibly cold, I thought they have to chill it but reception said they don't. I have no idea why it's so cold, probably why not many people stay by the pool.

The apartment was cleaned 2/3times a week, the kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dish washer, hob, oven and microwave.

I would stay here again.

Check-in staff very helpful and allowed early access to our apartment. Apartment spacious, modern and very well equipped - only small addition would be a coffee maker/pot and plastic glasses for outside areas. Mezzanine sun terrace included two sun loungers. Resort generally peaceful and family orientated, but pool area is not large enough during family holiday season. All staff very friendly, cleaning staff particularly efficient. Club restaurant food good and staff polite but disorganised. Would recommend car hire as excellent location to explore the Algarve and beyond.

First time stay at the Amendoeira Golf resort and it was a great location and the accommodation was excellent !!

Having stayed at one of the villas, overlooking the golf resort it was definitely an amazing experience !! The accommodation was excellent, very spacious and the there were alot of facilities on the resort, in addition to all the golf courses !! Staff were very helpful and accommodating !!

Definitely recommend the resort and the accommodation to both golfers and non golfers. The location was great and very close to Zoo Marine and also Slide and Splash !

Resort beautiful and accommodation spacious. Proximity to pool area great. Although some of the villas a few mins walk away but that wouldn't put me off booking a villa in future if numbers required it. It is better to have a car as nearest town is 5 mins drive away and beach 15mins. Resort does run free shuttle bus to and from beach up to 6pm. Also free shuttle throughout resort. Will definitely come here again.

Very pleasant stay with well appointed apartment and facilities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful arranging to keep the restaurant open after last orders when we arrived and were helpful when we had a late departure. Golf courses were good fun and the Faldo course quite testing. Good value.

Outstanding golf and experience so great for day trippers. Resort was modern and apartments well appointed but resort lacked any soul and made worse by poor standard of associated service and sense of \"penny pinching\" Long checkins, no flexibility in timings, limited cleaning and inability to fix broken tv services to name a few of our mishaps. Shame because could be a great resort if service matched the environment

The Amendoeira Golf Resort is fabulous. My husband and I and our three kids have a wonderful 10 day stay in a 2 bed apartment with a mezzanine. It was so spacious, luxurious and had everything you could need. The kids loved the pool, the kids club, the sports centre - everything! My husband loved the golf, we will definitely be going back :)

We have just returned from ten day break and had lovely relaxing holiday. Though I think resort more suitable for golfers. You definitely need a car to get out and about and visiting beaches and restaurants. The resort very quiet at night and not a lot of people, mainly golfers.

The Amendoeira resort is very well maintained and our mezzanine apartment was fantastic, consisting of a living space, a fully equipped, high spec kitchen, a balcony, 2 bedrooms (the mezzanine essentially providing a 3rd) and a large sun terrace. The resort is a little remote and there is nothing external of it within walking distance. A car is necessary if you want to venture anywhere as even a return taxi fare to the closest supermarket (Aldi) is about €20. Having said that the general location was quite good for getting about the Algarve.
We stayed for two weeks on an SC basis but did very little self catering (only breakfasts) as we found the food in the clubhouse to be good and very reasonably priced. Staff were freindly and service was good. After initial concerns it was a bit quiet / remote we found our feet and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed the sports facilities, of which there are many. The golf courses were both very good, my favourite being the O'Connor course. The 9 hole pitch and putt course is also impressive.

Great amenities and very friendly and efficient staff whether in reception, restaurant, cleaning, security or pool side bar. 2 bed Apartment with mezzanine (3rd bedroom) was modern, built and finished to a very high standard, very comfortable and extremely well equipped for self caterers. A very good price from Hotels.com too. Good underground parking under each of the apartment blocks. Resort Club house restaurant sold man sized portions of what is probably best described as pub grub. If you want nouvelle cuisine this is probably not the place for you but if you like steak, eggs and french fries, prawn curry, chicken pies, spaghetti bolognese etc you should be happy enough. I certainly had no complaints at all. If you want more upmarket food there are some very good restaurants in nearby places such as Gale which offer good value. I would unreservedly recommend this resort for a holiday even if you are not a golfist and its also a great place for families with children. Nearby are large water parks and Zoomarine which kids will love. However, while the resort provides a shuttle bus service to nearby towns in my view to get biggest benefit of the area you will need a car to get around as it is a big resort (with two 18 hole golf courses, tennis courts, five a side football pitches and 2 swimming pools within the complex) and it is several miles from nearest town. Would I go back again? In a heart beat.

Private underground parking, gated community, private patio area and large pool with plenty of sun beds.The entire complex is extremely clean and well maintained. Beautiful grounds and extremely peaceful. The perfect place to unwind and you dont even have to play golf. Well placed for exploring the local area, short drive from the 2 bed, 2 bathroom apartment is extremely spacious and luxuriously fitted and furnished.
