A reserva feita no restaurante Carvão, não correu bem. Depois de se ter dado ordem do que pretendíamos, esperamos cerca de 45 minutos para ser servidos, e para além disso um dos pratos estava mal confecionado.
Também no restaurante SABORES, o jantar do dia dos namorados, que estava marcado para as 20h30, só nos deram ordem para entrar muito perto das 21H.
A saída do parque de estacionamento, também foi atribulada (descoordenação entre informação dada na receção), levou a que ficasse bloqueado na régua de saída, quando o parque já tinha sido pago.
Sugestão:
Muito dos funcionários não sabem falar Português, seria bom dar formação nesse sentido.

Right from our arrival the staff took care of us. Buffet closed at 10pm and we arrived at 945. They took us to the buffet and told us not to worry, our bags would be in our room.

As the week went on we enjoyed the amenities of the hotel. Lots of great activities to do at the resort including local drink making, art, yoga, tai chi, meditation, exercise classes, tile decorating.

Food was outstanding. Never been to a resort where the food was so good. Al a carte options were awesome. Buffet was incredible for breakfast lunch and supper

Weather was so good. 19-22 degrees daily. The pools were cool but refreshing in the sun.

Tours around the island were easy to book. And fun to do. We did jeep tours of the northwest and northeast part of the island 2 separate days. Pickup and drop off were at the hotel. Super simple. Super fun

I would recommend dreams hotel and the island of Madeira to everyone who enjoys top notch food, kind people, and wonderful scenery. A hikers paradise as well. We will be coming back. Dreams hotel was so great.

I was very disappointed with Expedia and how they handled my trip and I was not able to get to my destination and will not refund anything of my costs, although on their website states that only the first day will be charged.
My vacation was ruined, my money is gone and my time. Thanks for nothing!! Never again will I make this mistake, I don’t feel like a customer, I feel like a victim! Used and abused by the system.

We had a short break at Dreams Madeira Resort. First impressions were that the resort was lovely, Renata on reception was very welcoming. She helped us book ahead for 2 restaurants - highly recommend Oishi Teppanyaki and Carvao the food was excellent! We found the world food buffet restaurant varied. The resort had a good selection of bars, restaurants, a cafe & an ice cream shop by the marina!
We stayed in a double room which was nicely decorated and a good size. Had a bath and shower! Some thought needs to go into layout/storage - not much drawer space and no mirrors with electrical points for drying hair etc. There was some times when there was a sewage smell but not sure why as it did then clear.
The location is a bit remote, however with everything on site you would have everything you need for a relaxing break. The PR8 hike is in walking distance and the hotel offer a shuttle to Funchal for the day - €10each way pp. They have a guest experience team to help arrange other activities and whale/dolphin boat tours at the marina. Carolina & Pedro of the entertainment team were great - recommend the Poncha & Intro to Portuguese.
My husband was injured while on site which was not ideal, more care for site facilities is needed as this could have been avoided. Following this the staff did everything they could to assist us in getting medical treatment and card - we are especially grateful to the staff, lifegaurd Orlando, Artur of the guest team and Joao the resort driver!

The property is beautiful and rooms were very nice. Pools were clean but freezing cold, as none are heated except in the spa and there’s no hot tubs either. Coffee shop was excellent, the young lady that works there was amazing. Gelato place was good. The sports bar left a lot to be “desired.” Workers were rude and after ordering drinks 2 times we never received them. Took an hour to get our food when we ordered before others who received theirs in a fraction of the time. The teppanyaki was amazing and our chef was a delight. Carvao was okay, ordered our steak medium and it came out well done. Buffet was subpar and dinner was often cold. Overall, this resort needs some work but it was fine for a few days.

The set up and architecture of the village is great. Staff in sports bar, cocktail bar, Oishii, entertainment and spa were great. The coffee in the coffee bar was fab and the staff there were lovely.
There was always a sunbed which was good. Food in Oishii and Beach bar was particularly good. Having to book your restaurant at 8am the day of eating is a pain. Thankfully I'm a morning person so not such a big issue but it meant you had to sit with your finger ready at 8am or there'd be nothing available. I only found this out from other reviews not from reception.
Food in world Cafe always only like warm, even if you were the first there!
Reception service was very hit and miss. We weren't told on arrival that our bracelet opened our door, only found out when we went to get a second key card. Waited about 15 mins at reception while someone went through the whole app with someone checking in, finally a lady (skipped me and attended a woman behind me first) came over and asked if she could help. She was the one told us we didn't need a card to open the door. I asked for a robe and she said no problem and put it into her phone, I never got a robe.

The day of checking out I asked for a packed breakfast as our flight was at 6:30. I was told this was no problem so we were put down for 2 packs, again I watched her put it into the computer. The next morning when we went to get it there was no record of it and no packs. I was really annoyed as I'd left nuts and small snacks behind.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lovely stay at Dreams Madeira

We had a really lovely stay at Dreams Madeira. The resort was spotless, staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend booking a Preferred Club room — it really elevated the experience. The time of year we visited was perfect, not too busy, and the evening shows were great.

The only areas for improvement were the restaurant booking system, which wasn’t very straightforward (we could only book via reception as Preferred guests), and the sun-lounger cushions — they weren’t always available and, when they were, some were a bit mucky. Easy enough to fix with a towel, but slightly off-putting.

Overall, a wonderful experience — we’d happily return!

The place was nice, the beach within the hotel is great, staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the activities held by the resort are lovely. However:
The floor of our room was filthy and was never mopped by the staff when they cleaned during the time we were there.
Two of us got food poisoning that lasted 24 hours (we only ate at the hotel). This caused one of us to be unable to attend the whale/dolphin watching and due to it being too short notice, we were refused a refund on the cost of the trip.
There are no security cameras near the lifts and toilets, which is pretty worrying as a woman. We found this out because one of us accidentally left their handbag in the toilet near the restaurants for 30 minutes and upon returning, the contents of it had been stolen.
The bar service is painfully slow, especially the bar near reception, easily waiting an hour to order and receive a drink.They also dont play music and it's just awkwardly quiet in there, but it's the only one open late. There is minimal evening entertainment and everything stops around 11pm. It's very dull.
The Mediterranean restaurant was pretty bland, and the tappenyaki restaurant was nice but a pretty minimal effort from the chefs.
The Aircon broke in our room on our penultimate night. We noticed in the morning that it no longer stayed on and just shutdown suddenly despite working fine before. As we were leaving early the next day we didn't bother raising this.

Avoid at All Costs – Not a 5-Star Resort (Closer to 3 at Best)

My wife and I stayed here 6 nights for our honeymoon (booked via Expedia) and it does not meet Dreams standards. We’ve stayed at Tulum, Riviera Maya, Cabo — this resort doesn’t compare.

Arrival: No welcome drink/towel, no luggage help, no escort, phones never worked (safety issue).

Room Service: €20 per order, limited menu, late-night “option” was a cold ham & cheese bagel. Phones broken, so all requests had to be made in person.

Towels/Housekeeping: Inconsistent service, fresh towels only with tips, many ripped or stained. Pool towels only from 1 far location and had to be signed out.

Water/Drinks: Bottled water scarce, gym cooler broken, alcohol bottom shelf, wine upgrade €35.
Cleanliness: Stained curtains/sheets, dirty glasses/dishes, ant infestation in room and buffet, insect in bathtub, mouse at restaurant.

Food: Often cold/bland, poor variety. “Unlimited à la carte” misleading — reservations almost impossible.

Service: Minimal to non-existent. Long waits for menus/water, staff disengaged, language barrier huge.

Facilities: Pools freezing, spa unusable 2/3 days with chemical issues. Lobby bar too small, toiletries poor quality.

Departure: No help at 3 AM checkout, staff didn’t ask about our stay.

Not a 5-star property — major issues with service, food, cleanliness, and management. Strongly recommend avoiding.

We had a lovely honeymoon staying here. The food was great and the views were excellent. However, there were some issues with the resort. We had an issue with ants in our room, and even after they sprayed the room, we still had some which wasn't the greatest. Additionally, the dinner options were great, but they booked up extremely fast. I would make sure people know when checking in that you have to book your dinner reservation before 8:02am otherwise, it will be completely booked. At check in, they told us the dinner bookings are open between 8am and 4pm, but that's not quite true.

Beautiful location and very nice rooms. A la carte restaurants were impossible to reserve so had to eat at the buffet almost every meal. Staff did not seem happy to be there and were mostly international so didn’t feel much like Portugal. It was pretty isolated so we didn’t see much of the island.

We were disappointed with our stay at this resort. While the staff were friendly and kind, there simply weren’t enough of them to deliver the level of service expected from a five-star property. The buffet food was consistently lukewarm and lacked quality. Accessing the à la carte restaurants was nearly impossible, as reservations were always booked.

We did experience an issue with our room, which was eventually resolved, and the Wi-Fi was spotty throughout our stay. We had upgraded to the Preferred Club, but in our opinion, it wasn’t worth the additional cost. Aside from a separate lounge with self-serve drinks and snacks and a private check-in area, we didn’t notice any real added benefits—especially since the regular check-in wasn’t busy when we arrived.

On a positive note, the resort itself is beautiful. The rooms were stunning, and the surrounding grounds were truly picturesque. That said, for the price point, we expected a much higher standard of service and overall experience. There’s definitely room for improvement.

The property is in a nice location, however the service is really poor. Staff don’t seem to be trained as all in hospitality. Also, the buffet is terrible for lunch and dinner. The service in the other restaurants is really slow. The review here echos the experience of many others and surprised that Hyatt are not addressing it. I also messaged their concierge service about this and the response I got was since you booked through Expedia, please contact them. So looks like they are just ignoring the fact that their brand is being affected.

My only complaint is with regard to booking the a la carte restaurants. The only way to get a reservation was to stay up until midnight and book right then. But the buffet was quite good so we didn’t mind this too much.

Incredible resort. From the moment we arrived, the property was breathtaking and very well maintained. It has multiple pools and dining options. The food was very good with lots of options. Reservations for the restaurants opened at midnight and you had to book quickly or you won’t get a spot. The resort offered many activities throughout the day and night. The gym was well equipped. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. When the star gazing was cancelled, they put out the telescope just for us. Thank you Paulo and David! Ask for anything and you shall receive. This resort takes luxury to another level.

It’s far from Funchal and not much around the property other than some beautiful hiking trails. However, the resort offered rental cars right on spot. The front desk arranged everything for us. We rented a car for two days and so glad we did.

Highly recommend staying at this resort. Rooms are very clean and spacious with gorgeous views. Property is on a large hill with lots of steps so could be different for those with mobility issues. Would stay here again and again.

This 5 star resort is beautiful! Well kept. Rooms are amazing and very clean. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Their World Café
International buffet restaurant had a great selection of food and lots of fresh local fruits! Service is amazing with cooked to order omelette station and cooked to order meats and fish to grill in front of you.
The Cocoa Cafe is where you can order drinks and coffee drinks until 10pm. They also served sandwiches and tasty baked foods. The service here was superb!

However, their a la carte restaurants need a lot of improvement. First of all, all their a la carte restaurants (except for the Você
Beach bar and their sports bar restaurant) need reservation. Reservations are difficult to book through their online system. A la carte restaurants were disappointing and food & service was subpar.

Seating areas by the bars and the pools were limited.

It was a beautiful resort but didn't offer 5 star service overall. I would not go back or recommend this place. Not worth the money.

The villa was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed and more. The resort had plenty of food options that were all great. Service was good.
Our personal small villa pool had warm water but every other pool on the resort was cold and there were no hot tubs. The kids splash pad was a nice surprise as it was not advertised on their website.
Location was close to a beautiful hike but a little far from the city. Keep in mind that parking and shuttles cost extra.
Some things that were not so great are that our balcony doors would not open or unlock at all downstairs and the doors in the upstairs balcony would not lock. The bathroom also had some plumbing connection issue and although it was thoroughly cleaned it always smelled of piss.

The check-in process took three hours, and unfortunately, our bags were delivered to the wrong room. Securing dinner reservations at one of the \"exclusive\" restaurants proved to be quite challenging. The buffet offerings for both dinner and breakfast were disappointingly cold and lacked flavor. In the evening, it was difficult to order a drink as the bar backs did not take orders only the waiters did. The accommodations were clean, and the pictures accurately represented their appearance.

Beautiful, safe and secure resort with excellent facilities. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We had a sea view room (adults only block) which was really spacious, quiet and clean. Great selection of restaurants to eat at but we couldn’t get booked in to most for dinner due to already being at full capacity however, we were only there for 3 nights so if we had stayed longer, we would have been able to experience the different ones. The world buffet was always an option if you can’t get in to eat at the others. Overall we were very impressed for a first time all inclusive hotel break and we would definitely return back for longer next time.

The resort is very clean and staff are super friendly and helpful! The views from the hotel are astonishing! The buffet restaurant has sufficient variety and with good quality. I have a positive experience overall.
Some area for improvement: booking restaurant could be very difficult, room service lady forgot to come back to clean the room. It’s mainly due to short of staffs since the week we visited was Easter holiday and the hotel is in the process of getting ready to run at full capacity.

We enjoyed the selection of food at the restaurants, and the quality of restaurant food, variety of drinks and cocktails, and the quality of the resort.

Service could be better. At check in our room took 1.5hrs longer than we were told it would do, and then on arrival at the room we found our case had not been delivered and was still in reception (despite being assured it would be in the room).

Waits for drinks and to have orders taken was highly variable, sometimes fast and efficient, sometimes very slow. Drinks and food would occasionally be mixed up or forgotten.

That aside we had a great time overall.

The staff was not very helpful and often rude. Any time we met a polite staff member, they turned out to be a supervisor. There are multiple pools but all are in the low 60s (F) so too cold to go in. We saw one person swimming in one- that’s it- during a four day stay. The buffet is all lukewarm food and it’s the only food you can get unless you make reservations- which would be fine except they don’t tell you that until check in and then you can’t get a reservation at any of the restaurants for days, so you can either eat the lukewarm flavorless buffet, or you eat off property, so basically just ignore the all-inclusive benefit because it’s not legit. Other services advertised, like the boats from the marina, simply weren’t happening. It says three times a day every day but when we tried to book they said there were no boats at all that day. Overall just a complete ripoff. Could have stayed somewhere nice for a fraction of the price.

Madeira Dreams has great potential. The location is fantastic, the facilities are well-maintained, and the staff (when properly trained) are excellent. However, poorly executed food, inconsistent service, and logistical issues drag the experience down.

With better food quality, stronger service training, and an emphasis on showcasing local Madeiran cuisine, the resort could truly shine. But as it stands, it’s a hit-or-miss experience that leaves guests wondering if they got their money’s worth.

Would I return? Only if improvements are made. Would I recommend it? For those prioritizing location over dining—but with clear expectations.

This all-inclusive resort had the best drinks and restaurant (not the buffet) quality I have experienced out of the 11 different all-inclusive resorts I have been to. However, the buffet was below average quality and made worse by being in a tight space for the number of guests they had. The staff were largely inexperienced, or lazy, and supervisors were working too much to be effective supervisors. The hotel itself is awesome with a village setting in a very picturesque location. You do thorough research: comparing hotels, poring through sites’ pictures & amenities, factoring in location, expense & time…..all to ensure a rewarding vacation.

While every person may have different tastes and likes, as an all inclusive resort, Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina, a luxury Hyatt collection hotel stands near the top.

No need to read any further. Choose Dreams Madeira and then go get spoiled!

Absolutely the best All-Inclusive resort in Madeira.

Dreams is a recently re-branded hotel resort complex covering a vast area from the beach all the up through a mini village. With a variety of rooms, and services on offer including restaurants, cafes and pools.

Staff are incredible, always happy to help and seem very happy to work there with the exception of the World Cafe. We noticed over a period of the 3 nights we were staying there that there was a little battle going on with the local Madeiran staff and non local staff which to be honest is ugly and unacceptable. This happened to one of the cooks on station, he was shouted at by another cook which wasn't very nice. We also noticed this was done in front of guests which isn't very professional and we tried raising this with reception however, we were told to make any complaints through their website!! I informed the receptionist it wasn't a complaint but an observation but was ignored.

Moving on, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything except the world cafe staff was just as expected from a Hyatt brand.

I understand the hotel is opening in phases but would suggest more entertainment in the evening.

We liked the location, the friendliness of staff and the range of facilities on offer. The only downside that we noted was that the sauna was still under construction and would not be available until April.

Incredible holiday and a fantastic hotel. Highly recommend. The staff are fantastic. The setting is perfect, like a small beautiful town with great food and drinks. The hotel staff made new years a really special celebration. Would happily stay here again.
