Great hotel, very clean with beautiful decor.

The only downside was the significant noise from work on the train tracks outside the hotel.
The food in the restaurant was average (dinner), but overall we had a great stay.

The hotel is in a good central location and maybe a 5-7 min car ride to the center of town. It is very beautiful inside and doesn't appear to be too busy. I stayed in the JR Suite and it is very ample, modern and clean. The customer service is great, the gym has everything you need, there is an indoor pool and sauna. The breakfast was very good and the bar at night was also lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

We were booked for 4 nights but left after one. Booked into a better hotel for the remainder of our visit. The room was billed as an apartment but it had no plates, cutlery, or glasses. The carpet and the lounge were stained. There was a cooktop but no pans. The cupboards were empty. Cupboards and the table were chipped and the toulet smelled like cigarette smoke.

The Imperial Riding School is a lovely hotel! The hotel is beautifully presented and with a lovely look and feel, a lot of effort has clearly been put into the interior design!
The room was great - lots of storage space and very comfortable bed and pillows.
The food was lovely with a great selection at breakfast, and a good selection on the evening menu. The bar had a nice atmosphere too.
Great leisure facilities - gym, yoga studio, pool, two saunas and a steam room.
The only very small areas for improvement were that the pool and sauna could have been a bit warmer.
Though overall an excellent hotel, we thoroughly enjoyes our stay here and would definitely come back!

I loved this hotel for comfort design the staff were very efficient. The location for the airport (24 minutes line S7) and the city. The hotel room design is excellent and the room facilities also excellent. The leisure facilities are also excellent although the temperature of the water in the pool (cold) prevented us from using it. Overall an excellent hotel we loved it.

We had a really lovely stay here. Rooms were modern and clean with plenty of room and excellent shower/bathroom.

Bar/reception area was nice to relax in at the end of the day and all the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Good options for eating out nearby for breakfast or dinner and the centre of Vienna is only a short bus ride away (4A or 71E) or you can even walk it in 20 - 25 minutes.

We would stay here again.

Impressive hotel!

Beautiful hotel. Friendly people working there. Early check in allowed, free bottles of water during our stay were also very helpful option. Hotel is former riding school from 19th century and it’s maybe one of the best hotel integrations I’ve seen during my many travels around the world. Classic Marriott quality hotel. Everything looks new and clean, pool and gym are in great shape. Hotel is conveniently close to Belvedere Palace. We enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful hotel, very clean, welcoming, excellent facilities, great food menu, and staff could not be more helpful. Very well situated in terms of the airport (only 20 minutes by S Bahn) as well as great transport links to all the main areas you would want to visit in Vienna. Lots of good local restaurants, and only a 10 minute walk from Belvedere Palace.

I was travelling with colleagues to a conference at the University of Vienna, and we were at the Imperial Riding School for 6 days. The hotel was beautiful and had many great features (pool, sauna, yoga room, exercise room, steam room, air conditioning, lovely rooms, very nice restaurant). We were a bit of a distance from the University, but trains were only a block away and came every few minutes. This also made it easy to get to shopping areas and attractions (even using a walker). As well, the trains went directly to the airport and also connected with trains to other cities (we went on to Munich). You wouldn't expect to get this much for such a reasonable price.

It was a great hotel, nice rooms, nice amenities, the area was not the greatest in my opinion, It did lack some energy, music and happy summer atmosphere - it felt very serious and dead. I had left my brand new Apple Watch in the room and it shows the last location in the room - I have called several times and mentioned that my watch was 100% left in the room but all I keep getting is \"we will talk to cleaning staff\". A little disappointed in how this situation is being managed.

Excellent hotel - lots of choice at breakfast particularly on fresh juices. Can get things cooked to order. My only downside and it’s minor is the swimming pool is too cold to enjoy for a long period of time. It’s fine if you want to do serious lengths but not if you want to relax

This hotel is stunning. The lobby alone will take your breath away. We stayed for 1 night and I wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms are exceptionally clean and well decorated. The bathrooms are spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It's a pretty large hotel and our room was down a long corridor, but it was quiet and felt very luxurious. We didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked quite nice. If I'm ever back in Vienna, I would love to stay here again! Parking was free with my Expedia booking, which was also a plus!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. The main building is lovely, the pool and sauna complex is great, but the design of the rooms with a long bed and dining area with a banquette is the best I’ve ever seen in a regular sized hotel room.

Pool was kind of small and crowded. Couldn’t go at times. Also a small distance away from the city centre either a walk, taxi or tram is needed. Nice quiet area, but would recommend staying closer to attractions like the Hofberg and central museums. Great for the price and last minute get away which is what it was for us.

Unacceptable Lack of Professionalism and Transparency

We stayed at imperial royal academy in December and had an unacceptable experience with their handling of charges and refunds. We provided our card for room service charges, but instead of the correct €103 charge, the hotel incorrectly charged us €992.42

What’s most alarming is that instead of correcting the mistake immediately, they only acknowledged it when we noticed and contacted them. They assured us that the refund would be processed within 14 days, but after the deadline passed, we had received nothing. When we followed up, they claimed they had made “another mistake” and that we had to wait another 14 days. Now, after yet another missed deadline, they still have not returned the money and are refusing to provide any proof of the refund process.

This situation reflects a serious lack of professionalism and transparency, raising concerns about the reliability of their payment system. I expect an immediate response from management and a final resolution to this issue.

Fantastic stay

Wonderful staff and facilities. The bed was super comfortable and the room and en-suite were spotless. The spa facilities sauna/steam room/pool were fabulous and we didn’t realise that there was a steam room and plunge pool too! Would definitely stay here again

Worth a re-visit

The hotel is conveniently located in the city centre. The interior decoration is classy and the service quality is excellent. Due to lack of time, we did not use most of the hotel amenities such as the gym and indoor pool. In future visits to Vienna, we will plan a longer stay at this hotel to enjoy its facilities.

Attrative exterior, decent spa and gym. Our room was cold and we had to get a heater brought in. They didnt always refresh our water- one day we had two bottles, another day one, another day none. Some staff were super friendly, others a little less so. Good location and drinks in the bar were geberously poured

I checked in earlier than the check-in time. I communicated with the hotel regarding leaving my luggage at the front desk if I was unable to check in early. When I arrived, I was able to check in! The lady who helped me was from Japan & she guided me with Christmas markets & shopping details since I was in Vienna during Christmas m. Her info was very helpful & she was friendly! As for the room: there were a few stains on the carpet & bedding. There was no door to the shower so water went on the floor outside the shower & the water temperature was not warm enough which has been a recurring theme since I’ve been traveling to different countries within Europe in the last week. I wish they provided robes in the room as well.

A great stay.

The best stay. My partner and I went back and forth a lot about where to stay in Vienna as we couldn’t afford some of the hotels very close to the city centre (like in Stephansplatz area) but we didn’t want to be too far out. This hotel was perfect. It was a couple of stops on the train to the centre and a 3 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. We also walked to the Belvedere area one day which took less than 30 minutes and we got to enjoy the botanical garden on the way. The hotel is extremely clean, modern and luxurious. We were so happy with our room and especially the bathroom was very clean. Everything is like it’s recently been decorated brand new. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a stunning property. We loved it so much, we cancelled our hotel for the second part of our holiday to remain at this location. The beds were comfy, the room was spacious with a sitting area. It included a mini fridge as well.
The pool was really fun (not terribly warm but fine once you got in), and there are nice spas downstairs (hot tub, cold plunge, and saunas of different temperatures).
The restaurant food was good, we ate there twice. Service was hit or miss. The bar is a nice place to sit and was lively. There are nice areas to sit inside and outside.
The hotel is conveniently located close (3-min walk) to a train station and a shopping mall with a grocery store. Great place to grab food for breakfast or lunch. You can take the train all over Vienna from there, and the airport. There are lots of cute shops and restaurants in the area.
We’d love to stay here again and highly recommend!!

Wonderful facility. Well appointed, clean and neat. Good size rooms. Easy access to the Old City via bus line. Nice linens. While the front desk personnel did a fantastic job of booking tickets and restaurants, it seem for a hotel of this caliber and the amount of checkin and checkout traffic, they should consider a concierge to assist guests!

Nestled on a quiet side street off Vienna's bustling Kärnterstrasse shopping area, the family-run Hotel Mailberger Hof occupies a remarkable 14th-century building. Originally two Gothic gable houses, the property was transformed into a small Baroque palace in the 17th century, complete with horse stables and a private chapel.

While retaining its Baroque charm, the palace was converted into a first-class hotel in 1976. Owned by the Knights of Malta since the 15th century, the hotel derives its name from their first Austrian residence in Mailberg.

The entire building, a designated historical monument, is under preservation order.
