The room was filthy!
The windows had thick black dirt on them, you touched then and your hands were covered.

Broken sink in the bathroom, a bath but no way of filling the bath.
Just avoid this and pick somewhere else!

A great overnight stay

A very pleasant stay however we experienced a lot of noise during the night from the roof space which we believe may have been caused by a bird being trapped in the roof space. We noticed a velum roof light so maybe a bird had got stuck in there the previous day. I’ll leave that with you guys

Comfortable bed. Decent breakfast. Heating in bedroom didn't work so a portable electric heater had been provided.
Dinner was a great disappointment - NONE of the standard main courses on the menu were available. Instead we were presented with a scrappy bit of paper with some very poor food options on it.

Easy to find Hotel on the way into Rouen.

We stayed at the Campanile Rouen East for one night, but we could have stayed longer. we have used these Hotels before and we like the 'No fuss' simple attitude of them. This one was not as run down as some and has all of the ideal features such as a large car park, shutters on the windows allowing the windows to be left open, whilst remaining secure etc.
Great clean bathroom with good shower etc. These Hotels are used by many french people in France, so that must say something about the Value and Quality.

Good location out of Rouen, easy to get into the city by car. typical hotel style in the group wherever you go, so you know what you get... which is good. food was good and quick, alto you could walk 10min to eat else where we decided not to and pleased we didn't.

Security heavy, not romantic

The hotel is like a compound which actually made it feel like you should be concerned about the neighborhood, though I am really not sure that you need to be. There is a locking gate that \"secures\" the property and parking lot from cars, but the mandate next to it was wide open. The staff was friendly and spoke English very well. The rooms were reasonable, the lighting was darkish and not the best, the beds were comfortable and seemed clean. I felt a bit like Jason Bourne might have rented the room at some point. While it didn't look to be a sketchy neighborhood the security at the hotel made me question it.

Handy stop if travelling with dogs.

With a park only a couple of hundred metres away along a footpath it made a good stop for our dogs also. The hotel is up to usual good Campanile standards.

Very small rooms, very hot weather, air-conditioning not working, couldn't care less attitude, Windows only opened 6 inches, over cooked food in restaurant - when did you ever see an over cooked steak in France? Totally amateur.

Overnight stop before travelling on to Le Havre. Room was basic as expected, air con was next to useless and hot weather meant a very hot night in a ground floor room so couldn't leave a window open either, road noise was constant all night. Not a good experience

The evening meal was poor. The chicken was burned and should have been sent back but we felt sorry for the waiter who was obviously let down and embarrassed by the kitchen staff. Otherwise a typical campanile. Overall acceptable.

At the end of a long day driving this cheap and cheerful hotel was perfect for what we wanted. No frills but clean and fresh with helpful staff. Lots of electrical points to charge all our various phones etc. Good shower and a hairdryer!

A great overnight stop.

A brilliant little hotel tucked away in a pleasant residential area on the non-industrial side of Rouen. Recently renovated so everything in good condition (apart from the toilet cistern that overflowed till fiddled with). Beds very comfortable and virtually no noise from outside or other rooms. Food was good and service excellent. Will definitely use again.

Campaniles offer good value for overnight stops and this revamped hotel was no exception. The rooms are much improved with a comfy bed and an excellent shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was OK. Only niggle was no English speaking channel on the TV! Would happily stay there again

I booked this room as I use a wheelchair, previous Campanile hotels have been fine. The room was very small, I couldn't get to the desk,TV or tea and coffee as there wasn't room. The bed was quite comfy. The bathroom was a joke with the shower over the bath and no proper grab rails.
We did have a nice meal in the restaurant and the staff were great.

This hotel is a very good stopover for the night. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean, comfortable and in general ingeniously built (this hotel is what I call a 'container hotel' where the rooms are very well engineered individual units). It is right outside a fairly busy road, so the noise was moderate, but not too loud. The shower does not have curtains though, so after one use the bathroom is flooded. The restaurant is nice and reasonably priced. Overall, I would go there again.

The hotel was in good condition and, with one important exception, our room was comfortable and seemed to have been recently renovated. The exception was that we had no hot water on the morning we left - due apparently to a technical problem. The receptionist was pretty off hand and didn't really seem to be that concerned or surprised. The fact that it was a \"technical\" issue seemed to allow her to wash her hands of the problem. No refund/compensation was offered. In addition, a coach load of guests had arrived the previous evening and the restaurant staff could not cope with clearing away after them so that other guests could eat. We went elsewhere. The staff seemed under prepared to deal with these situations

Not without its faults

Only very average to be honest. Options for eating out in the area are very limited so my partner and I ate at the hotel: my steak, chips and green salad arrived without the salad and despite reminding the waitress, it still didn't arrive! My partner had a very ordinary ham omelette as the menu options were very few. The next morning in the shower, I discovered there was no soap in the dispenser. In fairness to the hotel, when I complained, they gave me a discount. That apart, the room was comfortable enough, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Great value. Clean and friendly, about 10min drive outside Rouen so do need a car to travel in. But as a stopover, you would probably be driving anyway. Breakfast at €9 a bit pricey for what it was, but that's optional anyway. Two good supermarkets nearby. Overall as a stopover, great value.

Comfortable and convenient for visiting Rouen

This is very satisfactory and reasonably priced accommodation for a short visit to Rouen and the surrounding area. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean, but quite small so there wasn't enough space for a couple of armchairs but, other than that, we were very comfortable. The on-site restaurant is not spectacular, but not bad either.

A tip for people wanting to visit Rouen: take the no. 13 bus into town (bus stop is 5 minutes walk away, near Jardiland on the D6014). It only costs 1.50 euro each way, and you can pay on the bus. Although the buses don't run later in the evening, we find it much better than doing battle with Rouen's traffic which can be heavy at times.

We arrived on a rainy evening and felt bound to eat in the hotel as we could not see anywhere else in the vicinity. Fortunately the food was good and reasonably priced. Our car was parked within view of our window in a park which was locked at night (code given). The television had several channels (though we couldn't find any in english) and the picture was clear.

2nd stay in this Campanile this holiday. Would have given it 5/5 but for a slowly draining sink. Comfy, well signposted and situated, friendly and helpful staff. In UK chain terms, provides the services of a good Premier Inn ie coffee/tea making, welcome biscuit/sweet, personally I liked it better than Premier Inn. Substantially less basic services than a Travelodge. Excellent breakfast. I'll be trying to use Campanile chain for future trips.

Great Short Stay or Stopover Hotel

We plumped for this hotel for a one-night stopover each way between home and Bordeaux this Summer, and were not disappointed. The two star rooms were basic yet modern and comfortable, secure and, most importantly, immaculately clean. We requested adjacent twin and triple rooms each time and were accommodated on the outward stay (the only drawback was the triple was a bit of a campbed affair for the 11 year old). On the return stay we were treated to an adjoining double and twin, and an adjacent twin at no extra cost, which was a nice touch (I would recommend three book-early twin rooms for a family of five, as this is only fractionally more expensive than twin & triple).
The best part of this hotel, however, is the restaurant where I can recommend the plat du jour + unlimited dessert buffet (!) from 1900hrs and the breakfast for from 0700hrs - both were excellent quality and made the stopovers hassle-free either side of a long day in the car - having experienced Bordeaux prices, they also represent reasonable value.
I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again, or to recommend it to you. As usual, take some ear plugs in case your neighbours are a little vocal, and you WILL need to study that hotel section in the phrasebook, as 3/4 staff spoke no English at all. They more than made up for this with their friendliness and good humour, I must add.

Rather difficult to find. Quality of campanile hotels are not as good. Looks rather shabby. The reception staff good. The meal was bad. I can't understand why if I stayed at Premier Classe I would get 15% off my meal but not if I stayed at campanile. There was an offer of 10% off the meal but I had to produce a voucher. Not very forthcoming.

Room small (but comfortable and very functional), *clean*, friendly service -- didn't try any of the food --.

We used the hotel as an overnight stay on both our outbound and return journeys ... excellent refreshment through the journey.

A relatively cheap clean hotel that was situated perfectly for the purpose of my visit to the area. Clean room, simple but friendly service and FREE unlimited wifi, which works in the rooms better than the reception area.
Whilst the hotel will not win awards for pure luxury it ticked the basic boxes, secure, clean, a good hot shower and a comfortable bed.

Overall a pleasing experience

This motel is about ten minutes drive from Rouen. Well maintained, comfortable room and tea/coffee making facilities. The reception was part of the restaurant which was a little confusing but the service at the desk was good. The food was excellent and well priced - commendations to the chef - and we had the opportunity of a buffet for each course (special deal) or a la carte. One of us is gluten intolerant and staff were very helpful in letting us know what could be eaten. Breakfast was also a buffet and very well presented with lots of choice and not too highly priced..

The only downside was some trucks passing during the night, but that would not put us off using this motel again. In a way it was good to be able to drive out of the city a small way for a break from the sightseeing.

Un séjour pratique mais en demi-teinte

Dans sa globalité, l'hôtel est propre et confortable, le personnel très sympathique, et le parking sécurisé et spacieux. C'est très bien pour une nuit de passage par exemple. Par contre, une fois une douche prise, la chambre est terriblement humide et impossible de faire sécher la pièce sans ouvrir les fenêtres. Or, nous y étions deux nuits pour rendre visite à de la famille qui vit à Franqueville, nous n'avons donc passé que peu de temps dans la chambre et étant au RDC, nous ne pouvions pas laisser la fenêtre ouverte. Le lendemain, tous nos habits propres laissés dans la valise étaient humides, ce qui était très désagréable. L'autre bémol (mais l'hôtel n'y peut rien, je précise) c'est le chien de l'autre côté de la rue. Impossible de laisser la fenêtre ouverte la nuit, il ne cessait d'aboyer, ce qui était également très désagréable.

De passage sur la région de Rouen j’ai passé une nuit dans cet hotel. Je n’en aurai pas passé plus. Le concept Campanile a existé et a vraiment besoin d’évoluer pour remonter son niveau de prestation. L’odeur de cigarette m’a vraiment gêné, j’ai du aerer longtemps avant de pouvoir dormir.
