Really close to great seafood. Very convenient to everything we wanted to do. Close to the airport. Good restaurant and bar next door. Good walking paths. Nice pool, hot tub, pool bar. Water across the street. Coffee and microwave available in certain rooms

This property was beautiful!! The room we stayed in was slightly outdated and could use some remodeling, however, the property was beautiful, the pool was wonderful (and heated) and the location was perfect. Also, the restaurant and bar had delicious food. You can either choose to stay in and relax or it’s just a short drive into San Diego to explore. Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

I must rave about the staff. Natalie checked us in. She was delightful. We waited to check in for a short while (the front desk staff was solving a problem) and she was so appreciative of our patience and let us know. We were appointed with a beautiful suite with the Marina view to die for. Just what a lady's weekend called for. The hotel staff and restaurant staff could not be more welcoming and accommodating.
We highly recommend this lovely resort.

Check in was a struggle. I ended up waiting at the pool to 5 hours. The woman at the desk said there would be a discount on my room for the inconvenience but that did not happen.
I asked for a late check out because of the check in confusion and was assured I could check out hour late but I was rushed out of my room at normal checkout time.
The attendant at check out did give me a discount but overall it was a very stressful experience.

This hotel was the highlight of my trip! I stayed here before I got on a Disney cruise. I would come and stay here again and again! It’s the perfect place to start your vacation and start relaxing. Can’t say enough great things about this place! Fabulous restaurant as well! Great tropical hawaii vibes, say hi to JJ and Zazu!

Loved the pool and garden areas. Comfy loungers with cushions & no problem getting them.
We made use of the free bikes & rode along shelter island. The food in the restaurant was very good, but there were also other good restaurants nearby.
Room was a little dark, but overall a great place to stay with a holiday vibe.

We had a great time; the rooms were a little smaller than anticipated but were comfortable.

My only complaint was that we had to extend our stay by one night due to a booking error on my part. We were charged over $400 for that one night after we had just stayed there for 8 nights. When I inquired about it the staff I talked to was very rude and said, \"I don't know what you expect it is a Saturday night\". I expected some common curtesy since we had just stayed there for 8 nights and spent well over $400 at the pool bar, That was very disappointing.

This place is stunning! The rooms, staff, food, and location are amazing and unbeatable. My partner and I stayed here for vacation and were blown away. We were celebrating during this time and the staff made us feel extra special!

There is a ton to do around the hotel, as well as different events at the hotel like concerts and movie nights. Our favorite amenities were the heated pool and poolside bar.

We’ll be recommending this place moving forward to any friends or family staying in the area. Memories of a lifetime!

Incredible stay! The resort is a long-standing icon in San Diego. Nestled in the heart of point Loma. Perfect location lots of local coffee spots and restaurants. Pool was beautiful room rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We would absolutely stay again! Family of three.

If you can overlook the rust/unfinished parts of the tub then this is a resort you must visit!!!

I’m a solo traveler but found out the first night it was spring break, the staff which is amazing must of figured this out as well and spontaneously threw movie nights every night I was there. They really went the extra mile, no matter how small the guest.

This place is purely magical at night I thought I was in Hawaii not San Diego.

The pool was amazing there is a bar most of the pool hours for drinkers.

The little nighttime campfires were very nice as well.

The food around the area was a W all around, shelter island (very clearly a peninsula) and Humphreys is on my list to travel back to without a doubt!!!

We had booke an extra night. We didn’t get the room we booked. They upgraded us to supposedly a better room, even though that room is actually larger, the situation was right at the back of the hotel, next to where there was a concert. In the end, we got a room upstairs but it didn’t have garden access.

First time staying here and overall loved it. The grounds are such a nice tropical escape and the pool/jacuzzi area was large. Our room was fairly spacious and comfortable. There were a few “aging issues” in the room that could be updated but were used to that living so close to the water. Definitely want to come back during one of the concerts! Oh! And we were fully shocked at the quality of the meal we had at the restaurant. Did not expect to have such a nice meal!

This was like paradise without the paradise price. The rooms were so cute and cozy, the pool area was like being in a tropical oasis, they have a fully stocked bar along with some cute kids drinks too! The location of this hotel is right in between the marina and the bay so your views all around are spectacular. I can’t say enough great things about this place

We had such a great stay at Humphrey’s Half moon, this place truly felt like a tropical paradise. The room was perfect for our family of five, and we loved the resort’s location. The poolside servers were especially wonderful and made our time there even more enjoyable.

That said, our experience with the front desk was mixed. Aside from one very kind staff member, interactions felt a bit curt and not especially welcoming. On our first day (Tuesday), we planned to have lunch and drinks by the pool, but poolside service was closed. When I asked the front desk, I was told it was seasonal and wouldn’t be open for the rest of the week. Since that was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel, it was really disappointing. I ended up ordering groceries through Amazon Fresh… only to find the pool service open the very next day. It seems we were given incorrect information, and several guests around the pool were frustrated by the same issue.

Overall, it’s a beautiful resort and we really did enjoy our stay, just wish communication had been more friendly and consistent.

I paid the full amount which included the room being cleaned every day. They completely missed cleaning the room. I called service desk and told them I wasn’t upset about the room not being clean, but if they could please give us some new towels they said “ok” and never gave us the new towels or cleaned the room.

The property overall is nice. My room I thought was below average. I had a first floor with a natural wood ceiling it was so dusty. There was a hole in the closet roof the toilet seat lid was broken. Surprised by mandatory daily 20$ fee. Cleaning staff were super sweet and helpful. The man that checked me in and checked me out was a really nice man. He took care of my parking fees because it was my birthday. When I told him how nasty the front desk lady Maria was while checking out he also took care of the daily fees for me. No complaints on him he was super nice. But that woman Maria was so rude even to my 80 year old grandma that was just trying to be friendly.

We went for a concert and the staff there were polite and did what they could to get people in fast. The only thing we had a problem with was the room never got cool from the AC. We had to open the window and turn on the fan.

This property is a gem! We enjoyed walking the grounds and taking in the scenery. The location is great, within walking distance to various landmarks and businesses. The pool area is lovely, complete with a great spa. Our room had a great view, comfortable beds, and was clean.

Had a great time at Humphreys! The property was beautiful and well kept - we even had the surprise of finding the tropical birds. The location was also great, quiet island with views of San Diego, yet a close drive to being downtown, sunset cliffs, and La Jolla. Two minor notes, we upgraded to a suite and the bed was right by the door and not by the balcony, we would’ve enjoyed laying in bed and looking out at the marina and tropical plants. Additionally, this layout kept us close to the hall and both nights we were woken up to people loudly talking as they walked through the hotel halls. The other minor thing was housekeeping was late enough each day, where we respectfully had to decline, as we were gone all day and when we got back at 4, that’s when they were going to start cleaning our room. We were still able to get fresh towels but it was disappointing on the timing. Overall would stay again!

This hotel has so much potential but needs to do a few things to make it a great stay.
Pros: it has some nice amenities, beautiful grounds, quiet location within walking distance to food, bars, nearby grocery store, and some nice waterfront walking. It has an onsite restaurant and bar. Parking is fairly secure.
Cons: rooms are outdated, smell musty (some have cigarette smell), and walls are thin so you hear all the neighbors. Housecleaning was minimal and carpets and bathroom floors made bottoms of feet black from days, weeks… of non cleaning. Had to wear flip flops to prevent that. Amenities are very crowded and almost impossible to find pool chairs, space in pool, jacuzzi, fire pit. Families let their kids run all around and the rules of parental supervision posted are largely ignored.
Suggestions would include using some of the space to build a kids pool, so adult couples can enjoy their own areas free of splashing shrieking, garbage, and saved pool chairs that sat empty nearly all day. Re training the cleaning staff to use a vacuum and mop bathroom floors, bathrooms in general, especially between guests. Update to all tile floors to eliminate moldy smells and repaint walls to get rid of cigarette smells in rooms (they sprayed air freshener when we complained).

We loved this resort, it was beautiful, clean and in a great location. It was fun to watch the huge boats pass Shelter Island, walk in the sun along the waters edge, and relax in the gardens & by the pool. We will definitely be back. Point Loma is a great spot between downtown and the beaches.

Had to ask the staff 3 times to look into the sawdust that was dropping on the bed. They said the would look at it in the morning and they simply made the bed with the sawdust still on the bed. Went down after lunch and asked them again to look at it, they said they would take care of it. Came back to the hotel at night and it still wasn’t cleaned up. After asking the front desk a third time the maintenance supervisor came to the room and figured out that termites were in the ceiling and dropping sawdust on the bed. They finally gave us a different room. I am not upset about the termites but I shouldn’t have to ask 3 times to get someone to look into the issue. I will find another hotel to stay in next trip.
