Great location, updated rooms. It was a little loud in the rooms i.e. we could hear guests walking/running upstairs and at the pool but that's expected. Staff in the bar and grill were busy so initially there interactions were not as expected but as we sat for sometime we got a friendly waitstaff member to help us.

Our room was not the view we were promised. There was no privacy because instead of the marina being outside the room the hotel bar was there. Asked to move and no one could help us. Told us we would get a 70$ credit but when looked at the bill was not there. And our balcony leaked water everywhere and asked for maintenance and they never came. Hotel was clean though.

Everything was great. The only issue was our ironing board was broken. So they had to give me a new one. And I wish they had a fan in the bathroom. But I love that place. It's a great day. The restaurant is amazing and the staff is fantastic.

Great view of the harbor. Little restaurant had good food and waitress was great! Lively bar scene. Balcony was kinda dirty (seagull droppings) beds were a little too firm for our taste so not a restful sleep. Bathroom was super small/cramped. Staff was very friendly and we liked the underground parking which they waived the $24 fee because we’re handicapped

4 day stay. Idyllic location with very friendly staff. Water on both sides, clean room, quick service.
Parking was expensive at $24 a night. You're not near the city but some rooms have city and marina view. Our big problem with this hotel was we paid extra for \"bay\" view room with balcony. Our room overlooked parking lot, 90% of the view was obstructed by a tree. Very noisy road and parking lot with loud party animals. We were also right next to cleaning supply room which was also at times noisy. I think we had one of worst hotel rooms. We actually thought we'd be getting a second floor room overlooking the marina but this was misleading on Expedia site. To their credit hotel offered to change rooms after 2 days but we didn't want the hassle. Would not recommend this hotel unless you see the room you'll be getting.

Beautiful views and kind staff. Went on NASCAR weekend without knowing, was woken up both nights from people being drunk and loud, thin walls and echoing patios were not fun. One night 3am and the next night 1:30am. I know customers can’t be controlled so it’s tough, but with the cost you would think it would be a calmer crowd.

Our first night, it was a little rough because we got in super late, had troubles with parking. But the cleanliness and the helpful staff made up for everything. The rooms are super quiet, so you don't hear much noise outside your room. The cleaning staff keep the rooms super clean and do a great job. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking out staying on.Shelter island.

The hotel itself was nice but when we got into our room it was not cleaned well at all. We then got switched to another room but it did not include what I paid for and that room was also not properly cleaned so we then had to be switched again for the third time to another room that they intentionally cleaned prior to moving us.

The location is great, we loved the view of the marina. We were booked for three nights, but on the second day, my son got sick so we left after the second night. We asked if we could be refunded for the third night and they said no. So we lost almost $300. I understand the policy but show a little empathy for people. We won’t be back just because of that.

Property was great! The staff was all super friendly and attentive. My only complaint was the smell of cigarettes and cigars that would float up to our deck forcing us to keep the door closed. The bay facing rooms are over the parking lot so anyone grabbing a final smoke before going inside is right below your window. It made it hard to enjoy the balcony that we upgraded to get. It was a bummer. The views are lovely so it would have been nice to be able to enjoy them more. The rooms on the harbor side probably wouldn't have that problem so if that smell bothers you I suggest staying on the harbor side. The pool and hot tub were awesome and there was a lovely view of the harbor from the deck.

This may not be the most fanciest hotel but it was still really great. One of the main this was; it was very clean. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The room we had was very spacious. Although, we were a party of two, the room could easily accommodate a family of 4 with plenty of space. The restaurant on site was really good. The food was so good. It was nice to sit and have a cocktail and watch the boats come in. Our party really likes this hotel and we would definitely stay there again. You could walk to a lot of eating establishments or just to get coffee or a drink if you wanted to go out somewhere.

Room is outdated and furniture is very old and worn out, including the carpet, iron board, sink, bathtub, tiles, etc. Shower head had nice flow, but water from the shower would leak onto the bathroom floor due to poor design/layout. Room doesn't have enough ventilation, so I feel there is a slight hint of mold in the air from the build up of moisture. Room overall wasn't bad, but just wasn't the quality expected from a room charge of $200+ or $300+ per night.

Excellent property in a great location, very helpful staff. Nice room with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The only thing I didn’t like was $24 for parking. Not many people would arrive without a car, so pretty steep to charge that much to park.

The first room I had offered a lovely view of the marina and was very soothing and peaceful. The bathroom had some damage to the tub, but otherwise the room was nice. The next room was ground floor overlooking the bay, but the road noise, parking lot noise, and upstairs visitors jumping on the floor made it less desirable and I didn’t sleep well at all. If you stay, request second floor overlooking the marina. Not worth the money spent. Also, parking is $24/night.

The room smelled a bit musty and the sheets had stains on them.
The fitness area was pretty small with old equipment. The only cardio machines were an elliptical and a bike that were both pretty old and not of real good quality. The fitness center is used by people who have boats at the marina which made it pretty busy most of the time. The small size makes it feel crowded even with only 3 people in there.
The pool and hot tub are small but adequate. Parking is limited with the spots being too small for anything larger than a small crossover without obstructing adjacent spots.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bay Club Hotel & Marina! We stayed in a ground-floor Marina View Room, and it exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and surprisingly spacious. One of our favorite features was the private patio overlooking the marina. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee or unwinding at sunset, we found ourselves spending a lot of time outside taking in the peaceful waterfront views and admiring the boats in the marina.

After staying here, we can confidently say that we’ll never stay in the “hotel zone” again. We would gladly return to Bay Club Hotel & Marina and highly recommend it to family and friends.

We had a $credit for each of my family members for food in the diner. The waitress was Super nice! The bartender was a complete Asshat, I could hear him talking to the waitress as he proceeded to say”You can have this one”! “It’s all you”!
I worked in the hospitality industry for a quarter of my life, to have that rude ass guy say things like that is terrible! The $credit was not taken off our ending room bill!
Doubt will ever stay there again. Great location, so we’ll just take our money down the street for our next yearly vacation.

Great location and views of the bay and marina from Shelter Island. Room was clean and in nice shape. Gym was dirty {never vacuumed) and not kept stocked with workout towels (3 of 4 days missing) and no water cups for the water dispenser. I guess we were supposed to bring some from our room. We least early and check out was easy. The staff indicated if it would be okay to email me the receipt. I agreed so I could get going. I never received a receipt, just a miscellaneous charge for $96 on my credit card. Explanation and receipt PLEASE!

Perfect location, super comfortable room, amenities on property were great! I wish parking wasn't $25/day, but it was very safe and hassle-free. The staff was nice, but not overly-accomodating. We felt like welcomed guests, but not overly doted upon. It was ok because the property was really great. Pleasant location out on Shelter Island, walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Shelter Island itself is a pedestrian friendly location with views out to North Island and the entrance to San Diego Bay.

Bar was excellent, room was pleasant and serviced every day.

Cost was comparable to other properties of its caliber.

Only think not 100% happy with was we paid for bay side and got a room on south end that faced the marina more than the bay. We get up early and were really looking forward to that sunrise each morning with the sun on our patio. We didn't get that. Other than that, stay was perfect. Thanks.

The room was large, 2nd floor with a great view and big windows over looking the marina. The hotel was built in 1985, I believe it was renovated in 2025. There are definitely older elements, but I think for the price it was exactly as expected. The check in staff at the desk was great. The food in the restaurant was pretty good. Overall, served the purpose of the trip which was a concert at Humphrey’s which was directly next door. The elevator was down for 2 days, but just 1 flight of stairs, so not horrible. I would stay again.
