I was told I got the best room that they have. But I question that. The room had a balcony facing the ocean/Jefferson street.The AC did not work. The room smelled like smoke. The outlets to plug in my charger did not work. The only two positive things about this room was the view with balcony and the showerhead. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that had that good of water pressure in the shower. Other than that, the room is not worth what I paid for it.

If you don’t plan on being in the room at all other than sleeping, it’s perfect. The showers are stained. The rooms are a little bit messy if you’re looking for a place to sleep this is perfect.

Two elevators were out of service which was a little inconvenient. Our a/c was slow to work but did end up doing the job. Staff at check in was fabulous. We enjoyed using the pool table. I felt our room was a little worse for wear overall. Cute decor, good location.

The Zephyr is in a great location near Pier 39, the ferry to Alcatraz, the cable cars, trams and buses. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is reasonable value for money in SF. You have everything you need nearby. The room was clean and comfortable.

The elevators and hallways all smelled strongly for marihuana. Also there are a ton of charges which you never expect. After a 3 night stay they added over 300 dllrs of charges and half was for parking. The place looks cool especially for kids but definitely not worth the cost.

Overall the hotel had an overwhelming smell of weed. Even though it was apparently non-smoking. The light in the room keep flashing (with electrical pops) and tripping the GFCI in the bathroom.

Don’t bring kids here. This hotel is designed teenage kids or young couples. Won’t be back.

Staff was very friendly, we arrived really early and they held our bags for us to we could go and explore. They also held our bags after we checked out, because we weren’t ready to head out yet and still had sight seeing to do.

Room was nice and clean. AC was good but seemed a little warm for my preference. Would definitely stay again.

The bath room had a fan. It has been a long time since I was in a hotel that had a bathroom fan that actually took care of the steam in the bathroom. Loved the location to pier 39.

Great location, walkable to many must see attractions. On site amenities are fun for families. Outdoor and indoor games. Restaurant connected to courtyard is mediocre. Bathroom is small and don’t feel super clean, but it’s also on the older side.

I had four delays in my flight to San Francisco and when I called to canceled my reservation they told me to contact Hotels.com to get approval for a refund. The agent I spoke to could not get in contact with the reservation team and told me that they could not uphold a refund on the night that I was supposed to stay in the hotel. This is the second time that Hotels.com has done this with hotels when they rescheduled hotel room does not follow thru and charges a full night.

Amenities? What a joke. Quaint charm and a great location don’t excuse the complete lack of accessibility. The parking situation was unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that claims to care about its guests. There were four accessible spaces for the entire property—four. Everyone else is left to fend for themselves in a chaotic, first‑come‑first‑serve scramble that feels more like a punishment than hospitality.

After a long day, being forced to walk multiple blocks in the rain with luggage because the hotel can’t be bothered to provide adequate parking is infuriating. It turned what should have been a relaxing Valentine’s stay into a miserable experience.

Do better, Zephyr. Figure it out.

The cleaning staff was great and very attentive. But the hotel itself wasn't really nice. It was more like a 2-3 star hotel; we were expecting a nice hotel especially for being so centralized. The bathrooms were extremely tiny and the hallways smelled horrible. Old rugs tend to create a bad smell.

Horrible upcharging 50 dollars for early checkin before 4pm as they sit on your empty room, 50 dollar late check out charge from 11am to 12pm...42 dollar game room upcharge l...75 dollar parking charge..I wrote a review regarding what happened before my stay, but it continues. In our room, the heater was broken and taped up. We had to use a home depot box heater poking out the windows. It worked to heat the room but wouldn't turn off or cool the room down. My wife and I woke up in the.middle of the night sweating. Oh yea...i forgot to mention the rat traps in the room under the bed.. We set it to 62 but it didnt work or cool down. We didn't call anyone because it was 2am. We tried to open the windows bit they wouldn't open. Just to breath, we had to open up the fridge and crank it to high to try to cool the room. Not joking! The bed was hard, hurt our backs. The room was dirty and smelled. It was literally the worst hotel experience we EVER had. On top of that the elevator was broken during the whole time we were there, so we had to walk our huge suitcases up and down. It was insanely awful. We asked for manager but we're told by the staff that she wasnt around.

When we first checked in, our experience started off a little rocky. The first room we were given had a jammed lock and the lights didn’t work. In the second room, the air conditioning wasn’t functioning. By the third room, things were mostly resolved, but the adjoining door handle was literally off—the only thing keeping it secure was the deadbolt, which was a bit concerning.

This was my first time staying at a smaller hotel instead of a big-name hotel because I specifically wanted to be very close to the pier. I will say, the location was absolutely immaculate. Being so close to the pier was extremely convenient, the outside area was honestly so cute and beautiful, and it felt very family-friendly.

The staff was great overall, but I did have one issue when I added someone to my reservation. When they arrived, they were told they weren’t listed, which made things more difficult for them—especially since they were doing me a favor.

Overall, the location is a huge plus, especially for a more affordable hotel. If you’re mainly focused on location and convenience, this place works well. However, if you’re more of an aesthetic or luxury/big-hotel person and tend to focus on the details, this might not be the best fit.

Me and my boy friend went to Hotel Zephyr as a getaway trip to San Francisco and I found this hotel and it had a nice scenery so I decided to book a 2 days stay. When we got there, the second floor and room hit us with a smell of cigarettes. when we complained, they moved us down the hall, where the smell was little, but from our bathroom vent we would smell marijuanna. For it being a no-smoking zone, it smelt like someone was lighting a pack. No other complaint though

The room and bedding were clean, the staff was nice. Only issue was the heater didn’t work in our room. Came back from NYE celebrating and was too tired to deal with it in the late/early hours. Was only staying that night anyway. Staff refunded a small $35 resort fee, Probably not good enough but it was something. Great location to the wharf and a bunch of other stuff. $65 parking plus tax.

It was ok. Not enough TP. We only had two mostly gone rolls of toilet paper and when we called desk for more we were told to call back in morning. Dusty lamps. Previous guest socks still in room. SOS blanket/covering was nasty (not clean) A good improvement would be a microwave and new toilet seat (it was pealing) and new carpet without gum smashed into it!

The room was stuffy and moldy it was one thing to have it in 1 room but it was seen in multiple rooms. The building smelled moldy and looked like water damage. Will definitely not be coming back and hope i dont end uo sick from the exposure of so much mold.
