Einfach eine Frechheit!! Hatte ein Hotel Zimmer für mich und meine Frau gebucht und als wir angekommen sind fanden wir ein dreckiges Zimmer vor. Das Bett war dreckig überall lag Müll rum. Das Zimmer konnte nicht sauber gemacht werden und ein anderes Zimmer konnte uns nicht gegeben werden. Wir wurden quasi rausgeschmissen. Auch keine adäquate Alternative wurde uns Angeboten. Und das obwohl wir für das Zimmer gezahlt hatten. So was nennt sich Vertragsbruch !!!

Ich empfehle diese Kette keinem.

Nice location when traveling, close to the highway. Parking is available right in front of the hotel for 8€ per night but we didn’t have to use it as just before the gate of Ibis was a few parking spots and we were lucky because one of them was free.

We got the room 120 which smelled horrible once we entered. We didn’t know if it was coming from shower waste or it was just sawage but decided to take shower and see if we get rid of it. But even after showers and with open window the odor was very strong.

I asked the receptionist to change the room and after that we moved to 117 which was a lot better with no smell at all.

The breakfast was surprisingly good, quite wide selection of food. You can make yourself fresh waffles.

All over we had a nice rest, this hotel is perfect for this purpose.

It’s an ibis , it does what it says on the tin , friendly staff , special requests listened too , comfortable bed fairly quiet location ( I stayed on a sat / sun so don’t know what it is like during the week ) only one fault . There is no air conditioning, it’s just a fan that moves the hot air around not sure if it was broken or just non existent, wasn’t just my room mist of the other rooms had their windows open at night. Otherwise will definitely stay again

Not the ibis i am used to

Fire alarm was covered with a paper bag. Although booked for 2 plus a child there was only a double bed.
Apparently updated in 2022 but didn’t look like it.
Aircon was set to warm with no option to male it cooler. Sign says during winter it’s not possible to cool. Even with an open window it was still very warm. 25 degrees in fact by the time we left…

Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a good continental selection. Location has plenty of parking, and it's all free. Resturant has a varied menu, with generous portion sizes. Bed is fairly comfortable.

Good no-frills hotel.

Good for business stay

15 minutes walk away from center of Frechen situated in commercial, shopping center. Close to Motorway and by car easy reach to cologne and duesseldorf area - therefore a good price performance offering for the bisinesss traveller.
Typical Ibis set up, you know what you get. Lobby a bit dated look and feel.

We were disappointed the room had no kettle or provision to make a hot drink.
All we could see from our 1st floor window was a wall around a flat roof.
In the brochure in the room it said the hotel would provide stamps at reception but during our 4 night stay there were none available and no efforts to provide any.

Staff spoke little or no English. Not service oriented. Bus connection to Cologne was a challenge. Food was adequate but unremarkable. I found another hotel for the rest of my stay only 2 blocks from Köln HBF.at a comparable price. Much better staff and nicer facility. And better food and transportation options.

A below average first night in Cologne. Quite far from the centre and you would need to drive there. The night concierge insisted I had no reservation and continued to ignore me while serving other guests drinks instead of investigating my booking. I looked at the screen and saw my name on it all along after waiting 45 minutes. No apology was given and made to feel unwelcome

The hotel is rated as 2-star which I think is unfair. It is not a luxurious hotel by any means but it is good value and clean and certainly worthy of 3 star. Rooms and bathrooms are of adequate size and not too small like the nearby Motel One. Food is typical of what you would expect in Germany, not too expensive and filling.

good value for money

We stayed there one night on our travel back from Italy and Austria. It was the perfect stop and position, straight off the motorway. It’s very good value for money, the room was clean and the beds very comfortable. We had dinner outside in the evening, the quality of food was surprisingly good for a budget hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would stop over there again and recommend it to friends!

Great hotel, amazing price and facilities

This was a really great hotel at an incredible price! Booked this for 4 of us with only minimal research and upon arrival was a little worried at the location and a few other things. Within 10 minutes any potential issues were sorted. It turned out we were very close (10 minute walk or 5 minute car journey) to the tram station that took us straight to downtown Cologne in 20 minutes.
The rooms were clean, neat, and had everything we could need. Great little bathroom with a nice big shower.
Only complaint is the toilet smelt a bit off, however we didn't complain or ask anyone about this so it may have been an easy fix.

Breakfast was a little over-priced (10 euro/person) for a modest buffet. Location was convenient for motorway and getting to/from Koeln, but within a commercial area among large warehouse-style businesses.

Stayed here for carnival weekend, a nice hotel, clean, good sized twin room and powerful shower. S-Bahn is a 15 min walk, but worth it for hotel value, trains are regular. Not much glamorous about Frechen location, basically a retail park, but it proved to be a good base. €18 for two day travel card. €25 for taxi to Cologne, or €55 to airport.

Another roadside motel

Typical Ibis Hotel was located in a shopping center on the edge of Koln (Freschen). The reason I stayed here is because there is a park and ride/ train station on the other side of the freeway behind a large hardware store, so I could get downtown easily. The park and ride has free parking but is only a 15 minute walk from the hotel (though few signs to find it). The train going downtown is every 30 minutes. The hotel was nothing special but perfectly adequate. The shopping center across the street was useful and there is a small casino literally next door.

Avoid, unless desperate!

Stayed over here for a quick one night stop and have never been in a hotel before that had so many issues. Issues I had encountered.

1) The toilet reeked of faeces before it has been used
2) The room was cramped and tiny
3) The aircon does not work
4) The bed sheets were yellow in some patches
5) Location is terrible, with unsavory people hanging outside the hotel constantly
6) No safe
7) No minibar
8) Would not take the bag as storage, in the modern day when people have an abundance of gadgets - it doesnt feel good to hide iPads, Kindles & laptops in the boot of our car
9) Got a beautiful view of the motorway from the bedroom
10) The breakfast - for €10 was cold cuts of ham, cheese, scrambled eggs and three croissants available. Not good enough.
11) The receptionist, despite a nametag explaining he spoke English, was unable to communicate in English.
12) Panflits and adverts on the reception desk included three for escort call out services, something I find very unsavoury.

On the plus side, it is quite cheap - but it definately feels it, and we were there one night. I'll never again visit any Ibis, as it is just not worth the money.

Very convenient location

We chose this hotel primarily for its location and because we knew in advance exactly what we would get in an Ibis hotel. We were not disappointed. The hotel was easy to locate arriving by car, but access by public transport could be more difficult. Although our room was on the ground floor and close to reception we had no disturbance during the night and slept very well.Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of buffet type food with a variety of fresh bread. We did not eat at the hotel in the evening as the choice was limited, so went into the city by tram from Frechen which involved a short drive. The location of the hotel also made for a quick getaway the following morning and enabled us to be on our way without the hassle of finding our way through the city area. Strongly recommended for anyone needing a convenient overnight stop in this area.

Das Hotel war absolut in Ordnung, die Zimmer geräumig und sauber. Die räumliche Entfernung zur Innenstadt ein Manko. Das haben wir aber bewusst in Kauf genommen. Denn die Hotelpreise während der Fußball EM waren im IBIS absolut in Ordnung.

Ganz klarer Preis-Leistungssieger! Für den Preis pro Nacht kaum möglich im Raum Köln, hat das Ibis Hotel völlig überzeugt. Unkomplizierter Check In, freundliches Personal, ausreichendes Zimmer und einer hervorragende Lage. Einzig die Wassertemperatur in der Dusche ist ein Abenteuer: nach ca 2 Minuten wird diese brühend heiß und eine richtige Einstellung war nicht mehr möglich, sodass nur noch heiß oder kalt möglich war.

Die Dame vom Personal an der Rezeption kann nicht mal Guten Morgen geschweige den Bitte/Danke sagen.

Wasser in der Dusche ist entweder so heiß das man sich wirklich verbrennt oder so kalt das es einem Eisbad ähnelt..

würde nicht nochmal dieses Hotel buchen.
