The room was clean and compact. The Air conditioning could have been a little stronger, it kept the room cool, but not ac cool.

Not registered for breakfast (we were) so initially wouldn’t let us in. Once I went back to room to get tickets we were let in. Their error we were not on their list. Following day they would not let my husband take a coffee and pastry to our tiny room for eas I was unwell and could not make it down. Very basic breakfast.

My second stay as enjoyable as first. Staff always friendly and helpful. My room was clean with a couple of towels. Actual hotel is situated about 0.3M from city center as a 15 min walk nto heart of Copenhagen. Plenty of resturants/ bars close by and two supermarkets a 5 min walk away. As my visit was in June made use of the quadrangle this time. As stated last time the mini bar/ cafe has reasonable prices and 24 hr service.

I don’t like the fact that we came early and cannot store luggage while waiting for our check in at 3 pm without a fee. It end up ,
There’s a room already ready for check in but we paid extra 150 danish krone ( around 32 Canadian dollars) to come in early. Other hotels can store luggage if you come in early. Room is very small but enough to sleep and shower.

Very small rooms but super convenient and descent prices on the right times. Check In was done all on a PC in the Lobby yourself which was a new experience and SUPER easy to do. Made things so much quicker.

Rooms are small and just enough room for two people but a very sleep and get out situation, not enough space to hang around in the room.

However there is plenty of space in the Lobby area with cosy seating and good vibe to the atmosphere. Did it a couple of times when I brought food back.

Overall a decent place to stay.

Old and dirty. I knew the rooms would be incredibly small but didn’t expect them to be so unclean. I knew I was paying for the location in the center of the city but expected to be staying at a decent hotel and not a rundown property. You also have to pay for any extras, like breakfast and even luggage storage. I would never stay here again. In fact, I’m returning to Copenhagen for my flight home and already canceled my reservation here and booked a larger hotel that’s not in the city center.

The rooms were tiny, overpriced and had no design what so ever, not even a picture on the wall... or a drawer for clothes, or a tea/coffee station, or water. The TV didn't face the bed so that was unusable... and it look like it was from the early 2000s. Air con had no temp control - just a fan. This is more like a hostel experience than a hotel. You'd find a better and bigger bathroom and shower in a caravan. Staying at an IBIS is an upgrade to this. Crays prices for very sub-standard rooms. Its a 1-2* hotel with 4* prices. godo locations but terrible bedrooms. Oh, and the lift was dodgy too.

I booked this hotel specifically because I expected reliable air conditioning, but unfortunately the AC did not work properly during my stay. I was also assigned a first-floor room located right next to the garbage cans, which was extremely noisy throughout the day and night. There was constant banging and noise, making it impossible to sleep.

While the staff was friendly, they were not able to resolve the issues or improve my stay. Overall, the lack of sleep due to the noise and the malfunctioning AC made the experience very disappointing

The Wakeup is certainly a reasonably-priced option for a brief stay in Copenhagen. The Borgergade site is quite centrally located, although that can be an issue because the bars and restaurants outside can be very loud in the summer months. There were often people shouting in the street until 3AM. The hotel provides an app for convenience, but that app failed to work in the elevator because we weren't on Wifi and the cell coverage in that elevator is poor. The wifi is fast and easy to use. The room we had was extremely small. It is economical - they saved a ton by not having a bathmat. There is no water kettle in the room, but you can get hot water at the desk 24 hours a day. The bed was ok, though they don't use a proper bottom sheet so we had to pull that back on a couple of times. The shower is fantastic. The bathroom is small, so there is not much place to put your toiletries. The blackout curtain is functional. There are a couple of outlets in the room, but only one near the bed. There are somehow two chairs and a tiny desk. There is no refrigerator. We made do for three nights, but I think next time I'll spend a little more for slightly more room and a hot water kettle. The breakfast is cheap. You get what you pay for. What they have is not bad, but don't expect scrambled eggs or anything. Their pastry is yummy. Their cheese slicer is Byzantine; it's not the pinacle of Danish design.

The hotel is one excellent location. It has easy access to public transport, taxis etc.
It is well prioc4ed with excellent breakfast. However, the room was unacceptable dirty at arrival, the sheets were not changed for 4 days and the conditions were filtthy.
The bathroom arrangement is is small and deigned with slippery floor, Not suitable for people with restricted mobility.

Functional hotel near the city centre. Bed is sideways on to the end of the room so if there are two of you, one has to climb over. Not much storage. Nice and quiet. Decent buffet breakfast. Plenty of nice restaurants close by. Good value for the location.

This is such a fun property - within just a few blocks of several popular sites in historic Copenhagen. The room was small but very efficiently met all of our needs. There are nice t.v. and lounge rooms to socialize in on the main level and a nice garden area outside of the breakfast room. There is a small charge for breakfast in the morning - get a ticket at the front desk. Highly recommend this lodging - great to be in the middle of so many restaurants and museums!

Very reasonably priced, friendly helpful staff, and central location made this a great choice. Nyhavn is a 10 min walk. In fact about a dozen (or more) attractions are within 20min of the hotel. Also there is a metro station 6min away that could get you to further locations including the airport!! I have been to other WakeUp hotels and I was always very pleased with them!

Very nice hotel in great location for sightseeing. Staff very nice and breakfast excellent.
Only negative was the room being pretty small, double bed pushed up against one wall. It appeared more geared towards single occupancy. In fairness the price was much more economical than other options.

My stay dates there were May 12–15, 2026.
What I appreciated: • The central location, which made it easy to explore the city.
Areas that need improvement:
• My reservation indicated a Wakeup Large room with a maximum capacity of three guests. In reality, the room was extremely small and contained two twin beds arranged in a way that felt more like a dormitory than a “large” room category.
• One wall panel near the bed was broken.
• The room had no desk and no proper nightstands — only tiny glass shelves barely large enough for a pair of glasses. The bedside light was too dim to be used for reading.
• There was no safe in the room.
• The shower had no cabin or curtain, causing the entire bathroom floor to become wet and slippery after each use.
• There was almost no counter space in the bathroom, not even enough for a toothbrush.
• There was no luggage assistance available; I had to bring my suitcases to the room myself.
I chose Wakeup Copenhagen because of its reputation for modern, efficient accommodations, so encountering all of these issues was disappointing.

I only stayed at this hotel for one night while traveling alone, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The room had a double bed, yet only one pillow was provided. The blanket was also very small and did not properly fit the size of the bed.

In addition, there was no fridge in the room and not even basic amenities like a small toothpaste were provided. Considering the price of the hotel, I expected much better service and comfort. Overall, I found the hotel overpriced for what it offered and would not recommend it.

Tbf the only reason this hotel didn’t get a 5/5 is the cleanliness. The room sizes are small and they should work on having cleaner rooms. Other than that it’s the perfect LOCATION! You can walk the entire city of Copenhagen from the location every single monument is a walking distance plus both the metro and the DSB RE trains are a walking distance. There are multiple food options including Gasoline Grill right next to the hotel and many supermarkets. If I go back to Copenhagen I would definitely stay there but would bring cleaning supplies and clean my room before I do anything. Oh and THE STAFF are AMAZING! They had availability and made me check in earlier! I honestly recommend this place to anyone considering visiting the city!

We stayed here over the May bank holiday and it was a really amazing price considering the time of year and being in the centre of the city. Compact room but it was a bed for the night, comfortable and clean. The air con was also good in the hot weather. In the shower was a combined body wash and shampoo so bring your own conditioner etc. Our room was in the 4000’s and was far from the lift, which we didn’t mind but bear in mind if you struggle with mobility. Easy check in and check out. Would highly recommend due to price and location.

My room was very small with just a bed, tiny but well-equipped bathroom, small desk with a chair, TV and somewhere to put my bag. The hotel had a restaurant that served breakfast for DKK95 (that I didn't try). It also had a small cafe with sandwiches and drinks. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient.

Unfortunately there is only one ironing kit for more than 700 rooms in the hotel.
So not possible to have your shirt ironed. Not possible to use the hotel for business trips.
Also the luggage storage room is self managed via an iPad in the basement - I gave up using that system.

Very good location, but extremely small rooms. Good for one night stay if you are just by yourself. However, if you are a party of two or more and plan to stay more than one night I would highly recommend to pick a different hotel. The hotel has a restaurant with a buffet breakfast for about $20. Very good breakfast for the price, especially considering how everything is expensive in Copenhagen.

This was a fantastic stay. Basic accommodation in a perfect location. The rooms are very small, however we weren’t spending time in the room. The hotel has ample space on main floor to relax or socialize. One thing we note is how quiet the hotel was, even with street noise, when the windows were closed, there was no issue.

Hotel is in a great location. I found the room to be very quiet. Housekeeping did a great job.

The wifi didn’t work during my stay. Messaged reception 3 times, no response. Went to the desk to be told no one else had an issue. Was emailed to say that I was to come to reception, quickly followed by another email to say that the internet was having issues because the hotel was fully booked.

I had emailed prior to my stay requesting early check in - no reply back.

In decades of travelling I’ve never had to pay to store my luggage in a hotel - before and after stay. It cost about 12 euros to keep my bag for a few hours. Staff didn’t know what size the lockers were or if I would need two. Person in front of me was allowed to store their luggage for a lower fee.

I was given two different prices by different members of staff for early check in.

You have to go to reception in person to request housekeeping.

There are no black out blinds in the room, it’s lovely and bright but hard to sleep.

No toilet paper in the public bathrooms.

Overall just a really frustrating experience. Go with really low expectations and enjoy the amazing location.

Very well located hotel. Overexpensive like any other accommodation in Copenhague. Room is very small but it's ok. The bed linen had blood stains. They charge you for storing baggage, basically they rent you lockers that are not that expensive and are convenient.
Don't have early checking but sometimes they offer you an "upgrade" for an available room which is basically same room but higher (view it's the same) and with "different layout". It's still reasonable in terms of early checking prices.

Got a decent rate using Expedia. A lot of rooms are smallish but have very comfortable beds. Not the kind of rooms you want to spend the day in but hopefully you’re not visiting Copenhagen to stay indoors anyway. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is decent. Hotel is in a good location. Lots of good cafes and restaurants nearby. Crazy takeout burger joint across the street called Gasoline Grill. Be prepared to line up for that experience. Worth the wait though.

Hotel staff is nice and helpful. Clean rooms. Very central and within walking distance to all major attractions. I did the breakfast on my last day. It’s 95 DK and a buffet with great selection. I enjoyed it. The lobby is nice and spacious with plenty of space for seating while waiting to check in/out. I used the AeroGuest App and check in was seamless and I had a digital key and was also able to check out through the app as well. I would definitely stay here again.
