Good simple stay, met all our needs without issue. Only thing that could be improved is the climate control. Unable to control room temp in room and found it cold during the day but then so hot at night we had to sleep with the windows wide open (in winter). Which is fine except for how loud the train is with windows open. Would have been nice to be able to set the temp to a nice constant temp ourselves.

Quite an ample size room , very comfortable . Not quite cleaned in bathroom. Although plenty of cooking equipment and catering stuff there was no tea or coffee to refresh ourselves and no cafe in the hotel . Breakfast was expensive but very nice . I think it could have been included in the price of the room

Clean and comfortable room, nice staff, gym and swimming pool available but I didn’t make use of it as we were very tired.
I loved the idea of checking out at 12:00.

Pros:Massively large bathroom and well-stocked-modern.you can open 2 huge windows for circulation. Room is very spacious. Only a 3-minute walk to the tram.

Cons: There is no air-conditioning. Regional and freight trains are just 100+ feet away so it is noisy because you have to have windows open. Loud talking and laughing from other rooms because their windows are open.

Firstly, we arrived to a dead bird and a partially eaten rat by the entrance to the grounds of the hotel. Lovely start.
Secondly, there are homeless people living about 50m from the hotel entrance. They were quiet in fairness, and kept to themselves, but clearly not the greatest area, being right next to the railway track.
Thirdly, we found the bins in our room to be filled with rubbish from the previous tenant, including smelly used nappies, and when we raised this with reception, they refused to empty them and gave us directions to the main bin to empty them ourselves.
Finally, and most importantly, there is a serious health and safety risk when putting down the sofa bed, which resulted in a nasty toe injury. I wanted to report this on departure, but there was nobody in reception at 10am. As we left, all the staff, including the receptionist, were outside smoking. We instead reported the issue via Expedia, but the manager has simply responded that no level of refund will be applicable.

Overall nice and very recent accomodations. Beds are comfortable.

The swimming pool is not on premise, but literally across the street, so you will not be able to come back from there in flip flops and with the towels around your waist (they actually ask you not to do so) especially in -2ºC weather like it was for me. This was a major dealbreaker for me, as this hotel is one of the few in Lyon with an indoor pool - which I had originally booke to accommodate my youngest daughter's neverending energy.

The Gym was closed for no apparent reason.

Though the facility is staffed after 23h, this is merely a security guard (so be careful if you have a late arrival).

Good option in Lyon

We spent three nights here during a longer road trip. The flat had everything we needed and it was definitely clean.

Overall, the property and breakfast service were little bit costly but it was comfort stay as well. The soundproof isn't good in most of accomodations in lyon but still it was clean and wide space afforded. Especially, i liked that kitchen wares are well equipped.

Firstly, the staff of this hotel were excellent and very helpful. Other than that this is one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had - and this was all because this hotel has no air conditioning. We were staying in a heatwave and the room was 40 degrees C which is dangerous considering we had children with us. The hotel said it is because of new building regulations, the problem is that the shopping mall nearby had no aircon but they worked out creative ways of ventilation. The Odalys designers had not bothered to factor ventilation to the hotel design and their solution was fans - cheap free standing ones. The hotel should be really clear in their booking information that they do not have air conditioning - so many of the guests we came across were also complaining about this - it was obviously an unpleasant surprise for all of us.

There was no air conditioning - in Lyon, where it was very hot. Plus, it did not appear that there was no attempt in the building to reduce the amount of sun for our room. No awnings for example. It was 30 degrees inside the room for most of our stay despite the portable fans being on the entire time. I. understand being “green”, but then there must be measures taken to protect the room from the elements.
The pool was also out of order. That being said the reception was very nice, it was in a nice leafy area and was a 20 min walk to Place Bellecour.

I do realize this is an oversight on my part but I honestly stopped checking whether the room I am looking to book has air conditioning years ago. Who doesn't have A/C at this day and age?
Well, lesson learned. I will now look at that a little more closely.
It was upon arrival, when we were given a little info sheet about parking, wi-fi etc, that I saw the notice that the building is a low energy property and has no air conditioning. It says to keep the rolling blinds shut when not in the room to help keep the room cool. I am sorry but that did nothing. There is a thermometer in the room and it was constantly 30+. You can imagine how uncomfortable it is to sleep in those conditions. It's really too bad as everything else about this hotel is great - large room with kitchen and living area, huge bathroom with a bathtub, underground parking, indoor pool, laundry facilities etc. I guess if you're staying here at winter time you'll be fine but otherwise beware.

A good option if you don't need AC

Location is great, close to the supermarket, restaurants, public transport and walking distance to the river and some sights. Apartment is functional for a short or long stay, and there's a pool. The water was cut off for 24 hours but this is the fault of the city and not the establishment; however, communication about this fact could've been better. This is an eco-friendly building so AC and climate control are not options. In summer I stay elsewhere.

My only problem with this hotel is that when you check in they hold a large deposit and no where on the add for there property did I see the amount they would hold. For me it was 400 which I found to be a lot but the service was good and I was able to lower it too 150. Other then that it was a clean and good property to stay in Lyon.

Its my second time staying at this hotel and its the second time I complain about the bed. What they call a double bed is in fact 2 single bed zipped together. Its very uncomfortable. Plus the mattress is bad quality. The pillow are also way too soft and offer no support for head

No air conditioner. Before booking with the hotels.com I have called the place directly to check on the a/c and was told that place has one. Big mistake to stop in, hotels.com would refuse to cancel the room. Avoid at summer time. 30 degrees was in the room, sleeping with windows open wouldn't help.

Nice Hotel close to the Centre

I chose the hotel as the main chains, I usually stay with, did not have accommodation available in Lyon. Also, Odalys was chosen as I have previously stayed at one of their properties in Marseille, which was excellent. Therefore, my expectations were high and I have to say that they were all met.
The bed was of a good size and comfortable. The bathroom was the same. There is a sofa-bed in the living area, next to a table and two chairs located next to the kitchenette. This was well-structured and of very good quality. Also, the small kitchenette was well-equipped so it was possible to prepare light meals.

All in all fully as expected and accommodation of very high quality if you are tired of hotels and want more home comforts. Well recommended.

This hotel has a massive defect. Beware to stay at this hotel if Lyon weather is warm. No air condition in this hotel and since it lies in a big open area, the sun is constantly beating on the building and consequently gets very warm. And when I say warm it's actually too hot. We couldn't sleep at night and unbearable to stay in the room during the day. Pity because the staff were really nice and they said they get the same complaint from many others.

A good base for seeing Lyon

It was an ideal base for our stay in Lyon. The room was comfortable and well-appointed - the bathroom was especially good - and it was handy to have a fridge and a kettle to be able to fix a quick breakfast. Staff on reception were helpful, especially when we arrived late through train delays. We managed to fit in one swim which was great; it's a nice little pool. We would definitely stay there again.

Modern appartment/hotel close to Lyon Centre

Convenient modern apartment/hotel close to the centre of Lyon. Very convenient for tram, metro, rail and Velo'V bike network so easy to get around. Lyon is a major city with lots to see from Renaissance architecture to contemporary developments. Many of the buildings are lit up at night. There are also impressive parks including a zoo, lake and botanical gardens and many events (e.g. musical) taking place.

This apartment was good, in particular due to the spacious room and the very reasonable price. However the staff was unfriendly (perhaps because we don't speak French lol) and the location is a little further out from the downtown city. There is a mall nearby, but if you want to reach downtown, you will have to walk about 10 minutes to reach the train station, and then 2 train stops to reach the Bellecour Court.
I would recommend this apartment if you need a spacious room and if you don't mind the walk. Otherwise I would probably recommend getting a hotel around Bellecour to be in a more central location.

Appart-hotel Odalys Lyon Confluence

This hotel is fairly new and nice and clean. The room was tiny and when the sofa bed is openned, it is difficult to walk past, but since my daughter was sleeping there, we ended up not pulling up the second mattress, so had room to get to the kitchen or bathroom (which was huge). The room we had overlooked the train tracks and since there is no air conditioning in the building, we had to keep the windows open at night as it was very hot. The trains seems to stop around 11:00pm and started again around 6:00 am, I think. Sometimes we heard them and other times not. It wasn't something that woke us up and therefore we were not bothered by them. However, if you need 100% quite all the time, this may be annoying.

No air con in summer

We enjoyed the location and helpful reception - ideal for visiting Lyon. However, the two days were 36C and 37C. This is the Rhone - and this is a lovely new hotel with no air conditioning!! Stifling at night and the beds(which were comfy ) only had a heavy Doonas - no cover sheet. The bathrooms were roomy and water hot - terrific. The \"toiletries\" consists of two small pieces of soap. The kitchenettes are well provided - just fairly small spaces between the bed and kitchenette. Our friends had a balcony but we didn't - not a problem for us bit it does give extra space - when it's cooler. The roll down shutters were great. We didn't 't try the pool or gym but did park for 10€ per day. Secure parking but currently no lift to that level ( working on the lift now so perhaps ...). We could drive the car to an area adjacent to reception - fine. The restaurant seemed well used although there is a good Casino and Lidl nearby and a large shopping centre with Carrefors two tram stops away.

We really enjoyed our stay, quiet area but close to tram/train lines so easy to get around. Nice italian restaurant beside the hotel (children friendly). Only dowside was the scaffolding outside of the pool window, but it's obviously a new build so to be expected.

Contrairement à d'autres appart hôtel de même standing,pas d'accessoires pour nettoyer dans la cuisine ( pratique quand ce n'est pas précisé à la réservation et qu'on voyage en avion) le réfrigérateur ne peut se brancher sans être sorti de son encastrement.
