The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were cosy and very clean. Lovely walk in shower. The TV only has french channels but you can log into YouTube and watch you favourite. Breakfast was lovely and starts from 6am-10am. Everyone was so lovely in this hotel and the area was lovely too. Thank you to the staff for making us feel at home for 5 days 🙏😁

As our train from Lille was cancelled (fire on the line), we missed our first pre-paid night, arriving hot & tired next day, Very friendly, sympathetic welcome and helpful information given. Nice, quiet, comfortable room with working aircon and tea/coffee regularly replenished by the kettle. Short walk from the rail station or tram & pleasant stroll to park & amenities.

The bed was big and comfortable, (though the pillows were terrible), and the bathroom was new. The rest of the hotel was shabby. The breakfast isn’t really worth taking, better to go to one of the many lovely cafes in the area.

Hotel room was very small but clean and quiet, the area around had many restaurants to choose from with the transportation just a 2 minute walk. Breakfast is very minimal and the hotel does not have a restaurant, you need to go out to eat. For me I do recommend this place because of the location and price, so yes I would stay here again.

Its was ok. The location is good. But the hotel is not great.. I put the card do not disturb and they still came into my room.. my stuffs had moved and they replaced my towels et made my bed. But I think its disrespecful to enter someone's room when they ask not too.
Its also very noisy. I had the room beside the elavator and the stairs and I can hear the people like they were having a party in my room:/

In our travels, we are looking for safe, clean, accommodation, and friendly staff. The accommodation fully met our needs.
The commitment of the staff, to ensuring that we had the information we needed and enjoyed a pleasant stay was obvious from the whole team. It made our stay in Lyon memorable.
This was an excellent place to homebase for a four days stay with easy access to attractions and transportation. Very central to all things.

I visit Lyon once or twice a year for work and always use this hotel as a convenient and comfortable budget option. It is distinctly no frills and there is no bar or restaurant but the rooms are stylish and comfortable and it is close to Place Carnot where there are many excellent bars, cafes and restaurants. It also has an excellent breakfast buffet with continental options.

Very tiny room. Ac didn’t seem to work. Staff was friendly. We only stayed one night I’m sure if we stayed longer, we would have embraced it more so. Look up live jazz a taxi or Uber ride away. That was amazing!! Be sure if getting a taxi to the hotel to confirm address. He dropped us quite far from the actual hotel and had to drag full luggage around to get there. Have google translate handy if you do not speak French well.

We really enjoyed our stay here. A clean room, comfortable bed, reasonably big by European standards. It was quiet, but close to the Perrache station and shopping/dining options. The front desk staff gave very good service and the breakfast was good with staff present. However the dining room was very small so you have to book a time for breakfast. Would stay here again.

Very happy to get this hotel booked at the last minute. Air conditioning was great, and needed during the heat wave. Early on the morning of departure the elevator was out of service due to an area electrical outage. The front desk person came up to the fourth floor, without a request by us, to carry our luggage downstairs for us. Big thank yiu

Rooms were very small. Front desk staff too chatty at times, but while friendly and they meant well, this often delayed service (i.e. check in and addressing others who needed assistance from the front desk). The safe in our room was broken, and they said that they would fix it, but never did (during our stay).

Good hotel overall. Located in the middle of the Presqu'île, very close to the Perrache station. Reasonable price. The bed was super comfortable, though the room was quite small. The Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was OK. Bear in mind that breakfast room is very small, so you have to choose a time to have breakfast in advance.

Disappointed! The hotel messed up

We booked the room then we walked there from the car in less than five min. The reception said they were fully booked and he just gave the last room to the customer two min ago. We're very disappointed and furious!! Since we paid the room already we asked for the refund then we called hotels.com then they called the hotel to verify. Finally we spent one hour there from 03:00 am. Could you imagine how disappointed and how tired we were?

Ah, Lyon, beautiful, amazing Lyon! My husband and I had an amazing visit to this beautiful city that was made better by our stay at Hotel des Savoies. The hotel is centrally located with a major train station nearby and easy access to both sides of the city. We were able to walk everywhere during our stay. Check-in was a breeze and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary at one of the many Michelin star restaurants and staff supplied us with iron and ironing board upon request. The room was a decent size, clean, and modern. We absolutely loved our stay in Lyon and would highly recommend this hotel.

Very comfortable room in a good walking area. And as soon as I asked about parking the girl at the desk said \"Oh, there's one of the free parking spaces open across the street! Do you want to run over there and save it for you?\" She did. Only a few spaces like that in the whole neighborhood. Saved me €25 it would have cost to park in a normal street space overnight. So, a good experience.

Met the 3'Cs Perfectly!

The staff were courteous, the room was clean, and it was very convenient to everything I wanted to get to. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but give it a chance. There isn't much of a lobby but who cares! Breakfast was adequate and there is this adorable elevator.

A bit like the Curate's Egg

First the good points:
The hotel was well sited in a quiet street close to Perrache tram/metro/rail station and near to Bellecour. The room was very well sound-proofed and the air coditioning was also very good. The en-suite bathroom was also very good with a good supply of hot water. The Staff were very friendly and approachable.
Now the bad points:
The room was only 1metre wider than the bed which did not give much room for access on each side. The additional furniture comprised a large sofa and a chair which was not safe to sit on. There was some hanging space which was limited but no chest of drawers for small items of clothing which had to remain in suitcases. The was a good TV in the room but no access to any English speech channels.

In summary the hotel was good for a one or two night stay, but we were there for a week and for that purpose was somewhat inadequte.

An uncomfortable stay

My partner and I both were left feeling somewhat dissatisfied from this hotel. It's location is about a 20min walk from most attractions which we were happy with. The hotel has parking available but is limited and even though we requested ahead of time, when we arrived no parking was available and we had to find parking elsewhere - off street parking is almost impossible and I would not recommend as we saw other cars hitting parked cars along the side streets. There is a carpark nearby but still quite a distance to carry luggage and depending on your length of stay it is quite expensive (upward of $60 euro). The wifi did not work at all. The pillows were small cushions not actual pillows. The bathroom was very small in size and narrow. We found this to be an issue for taller people as the limited space makes it very difficult to use the toilet.

I was disappointed, because I booked a hotel with parking, but parking is only available if you ring them and book the parking. You have to then look for a parking space, which is very hard and your cost for the stay goes up by 20 euros.

Our only complaint is that they state they have parking. It for a mid size hotel, they have only a few spaces. They should state that parking reservation is required so you know whether or not there is space. Otherwise parking on the street is 4€ for 1.5 hours. Very expensive.

The hotel is very well located, right next to the Perrache Train station (2min walk), which is one of the main station of the city and from where you can easily go anywhere in Lyon. The hotel is also walking distance to Bellecour (10min) and Vieux Lyon (15min walk) which makes it very convenient if you like to walk around to visit the city center.
The bedroom is very well decorated and the bed is confortable but the room is actually quite small for 2 people to move around. There isn't any storage whatsoever for clothes, just a few hangers. The bathroom is very small and the sink is very tiny, you barely have space to wash your hands but not to wash your face. We also asked for a room with a view but our request was completely ignored.

Good value hotel close to transport hub

The hotel is very close to Perrache station and a nice walking street with shops and restaurants. From the airport I took the tram to the second stop and then connected with metro line A that runs straight to Parrache. The tram is a little expensive, but slightly cheaper if you buy your ticket online in advance (which I did).

On arrival the hotel receptionist was very friendly and spoke good English. My room was a little small, but had everything I needed with good wifi. I didn't have breakfast and instead went to a local cafe which works out cheaper if you only want a drink and croissant. Overall the hotel was very good value and I enjoyed my stay. Many attractions are within easy walking distance of the hotel and the area generally seems very nice.

Not quite what we expected when we booked. It was dark and dingy and the room was so small we had trouble getting around the bed. I think this was a contributing factor to the cleanliness of the room housekeeping would have had trouble getting their vacuum cleaner around. Breakfast was ok, a typical french buffet.

5 mins to Perrache station

Close to the downtown area. The location is very convenient. The room is quite spacious compared to regular European rooms. The bathroom is a bit small but very clean and organized. The breakfast was pretty good especially the egg poaching machine and the ham and salami section. If you want to save money but still want to stay in the 2nd district (downtown area), this is a perfect hotel.

You get what you pay for

This was my second stay at a budget hotel in Lyon and I preferred the other hotel. Hotel des Savoies is quirky in its decor and lay-out but the black wallpaper makes it feel a little like a dungeon. It is clean and comfortable though. Although the rooms are small, they feature a good use of space so I never felt as though I was lacking anything. The showers are great. One thing which was bothersome is that the latching mechanism of the doors require that the doors be slammed rather forcefully in order to latch. It was other people slamming their doors which woke me up every day during my stay. Although the noises of other guests never kept me from sleeping, when awake, I did notice that I could hear entire conversations of other guests from my room.

Decent hotel within walking distance to the centre

We stayed for two nights at the Hotel des Savoies in Lyon. It has obviously been renovated as everything was quite modern.
The room had a small fridge, clean bathroom, EXCELLENT hairdryer (not the normal hotel ones!) and a large comfy bed. It was a little tight with our luggage, but that is pretty standard across Europe, it seems.
The front desk staff were really helpful and had no issue with storing our luggage after checkout while we wandered the city for the day. Just be mindful that they don't fully lock it away, so may be worthwhile ensuring your zips are padlocked or take your valuables, just in case.
The hotel is also really close to Perrache train station, which is where the Eurolines buses leave from also (which is what we got). Everything is relatively easy to walk to, although you could train it if you wanted to. Definitely worth a stay.

La chambre était petite mais très bien équipée. Nous avons apprécié la décoration, notamment la tête de lit avec la vue sur Fourviere, la bouilloire et les petites attentions. Le personnel a été vraiment très accueillant à l’enregistrement et à la sortie.
