The complex is dated, but we found the price really reasonable for a very spacious apartment with amazing views in a great location. The apartment had everything we needed, was clean (although not spotless) and the pool and jacuzzi were awesome. Recommend for a family holiday at the Gold Coast.

After hours check-in was easy and staff were courteous. Our room unfortunately wasn’t very clean and maybe a better dishwasher detergent should be provided so kitchen pots, pans etc are cleaned properly. ( we went out and bought electric frypan, kettle and a decent detergent. Washing machine was full of mould, so that needed cleaning before using.

Our overall experience was good, the reception staff were fantastic and gave helpful information. Cleaning was a little lacking and we would have found it useful to have a set of tongs in the kitchen a scrubbing brush for dishes and possibly a couple of face cloths which we ended up buying.

We recently stayed here with my in-laws and had a mixed experience. We booked a 2-bedroom apartment, and they had originally booked a 1-bedroom but were given a complimentary upgrade to a 2-bedroom. Their apartment looked recently updated and matched the photos online, while ours felt quite dated in comparison. The carpets and blankets didn’t feel particularly clean, which was a bit disappointing.
On the positive side, the apartment was very spacious, which made it manageable and comfortable staying with two young children. The location was also excellent—close to the theme parks and Harbour Town, which was super convenient.
Parking, however, was an issue for us. Our hire van was too tall to fit in the underground parking, and finding a spot on the street was extremely difficult.
Overall, the stay had its ups and downs. The location and space were great, but the difference in room quality and parking challenges took away from the overall experience.

Sandcastles Apartments are great for a family holiday. The pool is amazing, the grounds are well kept, the ladies on reception are fantastic and the location is good if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of Surfers but close enough to everything. I would stay here again but I would request a different apartment. We had a ground floor apartment right on the main road and it was very noisy, especially cars taking off from the traffic lights late at night right outside our bedroom. The apartment was also in need of some refurbishments and repairs. We did get this apartment at a great price for the week so that may have been taken into account and I would say that the value outweighed the negatives. All in all, great stay on the Gold Coast! Thank You!

We booked at Sandcastles on the Broadwater as it was close to where my daughter lived. Lovely clean units that have aged a little, but suited our purpose as we needed the three bedroom. However it doesn’t have an elevator and if coming up from the garage where your car is parked, it’s four flights of stairs. Doesn’t sound like much, but it is when lugging up your bags. Also no rubbish chute. So the same when you have to removed all of your rubbish throughout your stay. The only other thing is the traffic noise, at times it can be very loud. Other than that, staff are lovely, you can hire beach towels that save you packing one and it’s located in a good area. It’s close to supermarkets, pubs, cafes and Harbour town is about a five minute drive for all your shopping needs.

This was an older complex , showing some signs of tiredness. Having said that it is in a good location with easy access to parking and to the unit. The unit has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only thing that needs attention is the beds as the mattresses are probably a little over their use by.

We were so excited to arrive at our accommodation for our little Adventure, we were super happy to check in earlier than expected so made the day so much more pleasant.
The complex is so close for the theme parks and harbour town. The beach is opposite which the kids loved for their morning walks, the apartment was roomy and a large kitchen, and two great verandahs. Parking was safe underground and access to all amenities was easy, and you get a good workout with the stairs.

Probably the only downside was we were on the 3rd floor, 4 flights of stairs from the secure underground car park. The unit was spacious with a well equipped kitchen. Whilst I do appreciate people need to leave a premises in a clean and reasonable state, the repeat instructions (threat or risk charges) to dump ALL rubbish in the car park bin is, in my opinion, in conflict with the services they additionally paid for.

The apartment was fairly dated with the furniture being basic and well worn. The main ensuite shower had no soap dish or shelf so soap and shampoo had to be stored on the floor of the shower.

It was a nice complex and the unit had everything we needed including paid TV. The unit we were assigned was neat and well maintained. Only thing to mention was the bed was a double so very small for two adults, no bedside table and the unit floor was a bit sticky and seemed a little dirty but could be the cleaning product used. We would stay in the complex again as the location is great and close to the beach for walks, restaurants and Harbour Town.

Overall we were disappointed with our stay. The one bedroom apartment did not look like the online photos. It was very dark and dated. The ‘partial sea view’ was laughable. I had to put my glasses on to see the tiny bit of blue from our balcony. Communication and cleanliness was good but the stay didn’t meet our expectations.

We stayed for a week recently in a 3 bedroom spa apartment. If wanting to visit the theme parks the location is fabulous. It is also right on marine parade and walking distance to several cafes and takeaway places. We enjoyed the nearby playgrounds, there are 2 within a few hundred metres and the pelican feeding is very close by. We found it nice and quiet generally but had asked for an apartment at the back, so road noise was minimal. The pool and bbq area is great. The apartment was huge, great for a family but dated and located up multiple flights of stairs, definitely a negative when carrying luggage etc. The supply of dishwasher powder, dishwashing liquid etc was minimal, only supplied for one day and you then had to buy it.

The one bedroom unit 217 was spacious but dated, we found the bed was too hard , the kitchen was small but adequate, the bathroom was good and loved the shower pressure. We were disappointed that there were no vacuum cleaner in the unit and it must be a weekly ritual when it gets this service by staff. There is a very good a/c system but we are not fans of it but it works very good. Onsite parking good. The grounds, pool and spa very good. BBQ area very good though didn't use. Price wise a bit expensive for what it is but it's the time of year when prices are up. Three out of five stars based on our worldwide travels including other resorts we have stayed at in Surfers. A negative aspect for families unless you are driving you would need a bus and tram to get into Caville Avenue in Surfers.

Great all round atmosphere for a family getaway, the large pool was a huge hit. Great sized rooms and very friendly staff. If there was one complaint (from the kids) it was that the tv in our apartment was a bit old. Location is great very central to the theme parks we were visiting and it’s Walking distance to a nice little pizza takeaway and an amazing little fish and chips place, they have underground parking with security gates. We loved our stay, it was a bit hard having to constantly climb up 3 flights of stairs, as there’s no elevator. The property needs a decent clean, as there was marks all over the walls and stuff. The spas tap and one of the jets were broken. But didn’t really affect usage.

Have stayed here a number of times over the years but it has come under new management the last few years and now upkeep and cleanliness has declined significantly. Kitchen and bathroom clean but dirty/dusty carpets, curtains and blanket, thick dust on skirting boards. No controller for a ceiling fan, broken flush button on toilet. Broken/flickering EXIT signs. Will not be going back.
