-Felt very unsafe in and around the building - lot’s of junkies and dodgy people around.
-Woke up to someone screaming one night
-Terrible parking, only 5 spots, wasn’t told I’d have to book parking or pay extra for the privilege. No room for anything bigger than a small car.
-Thought I was staying in the Executive Villa’s, because that’s what I booked. After not being able to find my room and asking at reception they told me that my room is actually across the road in another building called the Azzuro.
-Will never stay here again and will tell everyone about my experience!

Terrible do not stay places run down staff daycare mentally prepared man standing his Undies in the lobby. The room was not clean at all. Haven’t been touched. The bed was disgusting with sand all over it from the previous people. The rubbish was overflowing. The roof stank those kids running around with the clothes on. And it looks like a prison. Every room has a cave camera. Every door wall has a camera on it. What’s the state this place?

We've booked in with Jesmond Executive Villas 3-4 times in the passed 2 years. We were moved to the Azzurro apartments for the first 3 times so I can't comment on the villas as we haven't actually used them. I prefer the Azzurro apartments because it suits our needs n I can access them easily when going to and from John Hunter Hospital plus the convenience to shopping centre and take away places. On 2 occasions I did have to request bedding for the sofa lounge.

The hotel pool is closed due to construction and the staff when I complained about the issues basically fobbed me off saying that they will get it sorted - why not advise in advance that pool is closed and that’s why I booked here.

I will never stay here again the property condition is unacceptable and sirty

Some attempt to modernise but it needs maintainence, efficient check-in and out which was somewhat efficient but was delayed. Pool not open despite advertising it was open and disappointing. Thought the negative reviews were just isolated incidents but unfortunately it lends to being true. Convenient location but inconvenient access and parking is tight so need to be ready for it. Noise is easily discernable between walls. Be prepared for disappointment should you wish to pay for that

This was the absolute worst stay we have had ever. We have usually stayed here before however this time we were disgusted in the location we were put across the street in their new facilities. The room was clearly never a hotel room and more of an office building andni will be making a big complaint about this further. Let's just say it was far from ideal and dirty and add an emergency fire alarm that saw the whole building evacuated.

The whole experience was disgusting. The entrance looks very closed off, due to construction fencing. No polite information regarding this and the male employee I spoke to was rude from the get go. Told me the driveway was fine and not covered in construction fencing.
The driveways were covered in garbage, with car ports full of bits of old plywood, garbage and very old, rotten insulation sitting in blue tarp.
The rooms were also a joke. The main bedroom was tint, seperated entirely from the other room by the hallway, and neither have been cleaned in months. Dirt, food and filth everywhere from previous guests, gum stuck to the floor, the dishwasher base was full of water that was full of slime and mould due to being clogged up, with the inside door of the dishwasher full of calcified build up of mould and dishwashing powder.
The top blanket in the master bedroom was some sort of cheap microfibre material that was full of crunchy parts, much like when something spills and is left to dry hard and crisp.
Out the very front of our room there is a hole in the ground which a piece of thick wood is screwed into the ground and the sound of cars driving over it is deafening.
We also ended up locked out of our master room, with no one answering the after hours number. When speaking to someone at 0700hrs, we were met with incredible rudeness and claims we pushed the check out button which is completely broken in the room we still had access to, I do have photos.

Bathroom needed a deep clean. Walls needed some cleaning too. Cobwebs and dead bugs. Something on the bed or in the bed stank. Mould on rear windows behind shutters. Tiled floors not thoroughly mopped. Should remove dishwasher sashets as no dishwasher. I reported broken glass on outside stairs and it was never removed. Staff were nice & helpful to a foreign guest when she had issues understanding check in detaiks. I have dietary issues and was pleased to get a pretty well equiped kitchen that even had hobs - better than listed:) and a good extractor fan so no fire brigade needed for steak dinners. TV only had free to air and some radio channels. Was absolutely huge though and I had to walk around to see all of it ... almost. Air con was great but was asking for a filter clean.

Floor was sticky & if a drop of water got on the floor it was incredibly slippery. Looked forward to a swim after a long drive, pool out of bounds during renovations - no notification of such. Room right on road, very noisy. Had to shut bedroom door to try & reduce road noise, no fan in bedroom so very stuffy. Toaster wouldn't lock down. Mould all around silicon on bath/shower, dangerous getting in & out of same due to step & slipperiness. For the money paid per night this does not give any value for money & I'd like a refund. Do not stay here

Avoid at all cost!! Words cannot describe how terrible this place is, check in is at 3pm and we arrived just before then, upon entering there was no warm welcome and management straight out told us and another couple that no rooms were ready and we had to wait, “it is what it is” were the words. After that it all went downhill, room wasn’t what we had paid for, just been cleaned and water all over floor, room was tiny and outdated, air con had a bad smell when turned on. We decided to go to management after looking at our receipt when booked. Def wasn’t the room we paid for. They argued that it would create more problems for them rather than giving us what we paid for. After standing firm that it wasn’t good enough, they advised us that there was another room which to go to, upon entering the stench was disgusting, someone had just been here!! There was a pile of damaged goods at door, kitchen had rubbish on bench and overflowing bin, dirty dishes in sink and food in the fridge, I sent my partner upstairs as I thought someone was still in the apartment, bed was a mess and bathroom had toothbrush and urine still in toilet. Enough was enough, went back to reception to say what the hell is going on, only to be told oh maybe it hasn’t been cleaned yet, by this stage it’s after 4pm and checkout is 10am, we requested a refund as we were not staying in such filth only to be argued with again saying no refunds. Over run with cats living in makeshift construction materials. Disgusting

Location was great. It would have been helpful to know the complex was under construction before we got there. For example, we were sent a map the day before so we could locate our villa - and the map included a pool. Also listed on the amenities list; the pool is not yet built.
Not a huge deal. Beach was close and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Also, no easy/clear way to communicate with staff. Our TV remote did not work. Not really any way to call anyone or any simple way to notify Reception.
Again, not a deal breaker.
Pet friendly villa was great. When I did speak with staff they were friendly and professional.

Moved to an off site apartment at very short notice away from the conference organizers I had booked with in Jesmond Executive Villas (Lux Jesmond Apartments - Unit 1). All windows locked and no key - no fresh air, no hot water in laundry, no iron, no globes in bedside lamps in any of the three bedrooms, no handle on shower screen door in en-suite, plugs missing from kitchen, en-suite and laundry sinks, pillows all very, very hard - had to buy suitable pillows to be able to sleep, oven fittings all rusted and glass dirty. Paint peeling in kitchen. Exhaust fan grille on bathroom on floor. Minimum kitchen utensils (eg. no egg slice). Property in urgent need of maintenance.

Check in easy and use of keypad pin instead of physical keys was good.
Lack of communication regarding the MAJOR roadworks and noise of drilling going on outside after 11am was pretty poor. Locals would obviously know about this, but nothing mentioned on website or during verbal booking confirmation call either.

The property was dirty, the bed linen was dirty, the bedding had a cockroach in it and there were cockroaches running around the apartment. The couch was worn and sunken in. There were people shouting in the hallway at night. When we contacted the property we were told that we couldn’t get a refund because we didn’t contact the after hours line. (that incurs a fee) it doesn’t state this and they have told me that it doesn’t have too. We left at midnight rather than staying there. Would never stay again. It was disgusting.

Moved 4 Times within the first hour. First time room hadn’t been serviced from previous occupants, next broken furniture and then stained linen was put on our beds.
Sofa bed was not made up nor linen supplied even though we requested.
House keeping were terribly rude. Management sorted our issues when we complained but were not apologetic nor were we offered any sort of compensation for having to move and unpack our belongings 4 times.

You could not pay me to stay here again. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else.
One of the main reasons I chose this motel was because parking was included and my car would be outside my room. WRONG. They had me staying in a room over the road, no parking, incredibly difficult to get to and no pool etc there as advertised in the property description. I argued and got free parking there, but only 3 spots available. The apartment block required 2 different codes to get in, and you used them 3 seperate times (door to enter building, in the lift to operate lift, and at door to get in) to get in. Not cool.The room had no storage space, nowhere to hang clothes, nowhere to put your bag besides the floor, no bedside tables or lamps, no where to put clothes in the bathroom and no screen around the shower so water went everywhere, including wetting all the toilet. The tv was on the wall at the head of the bed so no laying in bed watching tv. No lamps at all and the lighting was incredibly bright. There were curtains but the balcony had very very bright automatic lights that could only be turned off by flipping the switch in the fuse box, which turned off all lighting in the apartment. Inside the room was like day light all night long. The staff did not give a toss and the gentleman who works there was very rude. Not as advertised and not very nice. The cleaning staff were the only nice thing about the place. It was clean, but no spare blankets or pillows.

Room was large, cleverly designed and well equiped with full size fridge. Property is close to a good bush walking trail that I used for exercise. To limit intermittent air conditioner fan noise at rear of ground floor apartments windows had to be closed tightly. The windows seal well but then prevent fresh air flow into apartment. Air conditioner in my apartment didn't seem to be working - notice on screen referred to filter needing to be cleaned. The apartment stayed surprisingly and comfortably warm during the cold days. Exterior walkway lighting was very bright at night coming through translucent entrance door - I was able to block this by a hanging a curtain, (not designed for door) found in the wardrobe, from the curtain rod at the top of the door. En suite floor becomes wet when showering.

We spent three nights here in three different rooms. The first two were okay but floors are filthy. No bath mats or hand towels. Very hit and miss. The last nights stay was atrocious. The room was run down, everything was shabby and broken no blankets and the beds were worn out. Parking is atrocious, reception clueless. The whole site is under construction so it’s noisy and dirty. There are workmen drinking in the carpark and urinating there too. You made our family trip to a funeral very hard to bear the last room was a complete joke for nearly $300 a night. They say pet friendly then try and charge you extra when you go to check in. Spa baths with no plugs, fridges with no shelves, dirty disgusting floors and smells like curry. Don’t stay here! Bed so uncomfortable I had to sleep on a lounge!! No blankets we had to ring after hours to get some. Middle of winter just a sheet and dirty bedspread with holes and dog hair!! So bad so angry.

I booked three different nights as my family met up in Newcastle to go to a funeral.
The first room was okay but had a strange layout. Beds were great but the floor was filthy. There were workman drinking outside near our room, they were just urinating out in the open. There’s not enough towels, no hand towels, no bath mats, no face washers in any of the rooms we had. The whole place is under construction which wasn’t made known to us on their website.

The next night we moved to a two bedroom apartment same thing, the floor was filthy dirty. The parking was a complete joke. The windows didn’t lock even though the room was on the HWY. The noise from traffic was very loud at times. Beds were good but the spa bath plug was broken so no bath. No towels again plus hit and miss on tea and coffee things. Dirty utensils in the draw.
We returned after staying in Bathurst for the funeral and

Room was nice but stove was dirty there was lolly wrappers on the floor. The night manager called my mobile and told me that he doesn’t care what we are doing in the room but we need to be quiet and I explained we were not making any noise we were eating food and he replied I don’t care just be quiet so i walked down to the office and no one answered feeling unsafe not understanding why the manager was so rude and the person next door started yelling because he must have heard me talking to to my mum about the weird call I ended up calling the police and was then informed by the police lady that it’s the worst place to ever stay in Jesmond that it’s full of people who have drugs and alcohol problems if I wasn’t as tired as I was I would have drove us home at midnight but it wasn’t safe so I got a little bit of sleep and at 7am I got up to shower and I had not hot water at all so packed up and left will never ever return to this hotel

I loved their spa. Nice and spacious however the pool was out of use the whole time after someone had confirmed the pool WOULD be in use the next day. The staff at reception seem miserable and not forth coming. They don't appear happy to be there. The pillow case had yellow stain, the bed sheet had a cigarette hole in it. The cleaners were more forth coming than reception staff. They could learn a thing or two from their cleaners.

I had a great stay at Jesmond Hotel in Newcastle. The check-in and check-out process was super easy with clear instructions and convenient code access—no hassle at all. The hotel was quiet, clean, and tidy, making it a comfortable place to relax. It’s also in a fantastic location with McDonald’s, supermarkets, and other shops all within walking distance. When I first entered the property, I was very pleased with how big it was and the facilities in the room. But after being in there five minutes I realise the place hadn’t been cleaned and was infested with German cockroaches.
The soap was still in the shower from the previous guests as well as empty shower gel bottles and even a lovely sticker from a lime stuck to the wall of the shower.
The bedsheets had a burn hole in them and hair on them.
The lounge is beds and chairs are all very worn and tattered.
But the worst thing was the cockroaches they were everywhere. I even found a dead one in the kettle.
I specifically booked the property because I like to cook my own meals when I’m away, but there were roaches all over the fry pans and in the cutlery drawer.
The place was cheap but I will never stay there again.

Check in details and room locations were unclear and confusing from the get go. The room was extremely small and stuffy and filled with bugs (flies, mosquitoes and other small flying insects) and the air conditioning was sub par and did not match what was described upon booking. Also has a massive construction site set up on the adjacent property at the moment. We ended up leaving less than 20 minutes after arriving and finding alternate accommodation.

Staff said no transport to Newcastle airport from Jesmond, advised to book shuttle bus $65 per person. They should have informed there are public buses go to Newcastle Interchange, then change buses to airport.

Wasn’t available for check in at 3pm like stated. Arrived at 4pm and had to wait extra half hour before being able to get in to room. Few things in the room damaged, a window was open and unable to be shut, fridge not clean and had expired milk capsules in fridge.

The overall property was nice and the unit was well appointed, a few impacting negatives would be the pillows were like rocks, even the spare pillows.. it would be far better to have some firm and others soft so clients could find a possible ideal choice. The bed layout next to the wall was also a little restricted for the person against the wall.
The kitchenette was great but the oven contained no oven trays, there were two oven wire racks covered in a little foil, it would be great to offer some sort of baking dish so the oven can be used.
