Great location, next to PPG Arena. Super-friendly front desk staff, available whenever needed. We were promptly greeted upon our arrival. Staff seemed genuinely interested in our plans for the trip, which was appreciated. Valet staff very efficient and friendly as well. Elevator bay gets crowded, so patience is required. Room was pretty good and in overall acceptable condition. Curtains/drapes could use a refresh/cleaning, but we survived. Coffee supplies weren't replenished before we arrived, and we noticed. Room overall on the older side. Property in general could use a good refresh/cleaning. Overall, we were surprised on how comfortable our visit was. No issues with security, although the general area is a ghost town (except for the arena and a couple of businesses scattered around).

The staff was very nice! The only issues with the room was there was no body wash or shampoo. The containers were empty. There was also Doritos under a chair that fell from somebody’s bag. Other than that it was clean!

The bathroom in our unit was very small. We had a 2 bed room and you could hardly turn around in the bathroom. In my opinion parking should be included in the hotel stay fees, we paid enough for one night for parking to be included. The hotel staff was beyond great and kind to us. Our room was clean along with clean bed lines and a clean bathroom.

Bed linens were unusual for me. No fitted sheet. Just a flat sheet on top of a stained mattress. Then a duvet and another flat sheet on top. By my accounts unless they changed the duvet after every customer you will be sleeping with a used linen on you with a clean sheet on top of the bed. I switched the duvet and top sheet to keep the clean linen against our bodies. Additionally another set of towels etc would have been very useful.

Our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

We booked and paid for a specific room through Expedia, only to be told upon arrival that the hotel no longer had that room available because they were overbooked. The front desk initially tried to place our family in a room with two full-size beds, which was not suitable for our family’s needs. After explaining the situation, they moved us to a different room, but the television did not work.

We were assured that both the room situation and the TV issue would be resolved the following day. However, when we returned to the front desk the next day, we were again told the hotel was overbooked and that we would have to remain in the same room. The TV was never fixed. We later discovered the issue was that the room had a brand-new TV installed without a cable box connected to it. No effort was made to provide a cable box, repair the issue, or offer any alternative solution.

To make matters worse, when we asked about compensation for not receiving the room we paid for and for the unresolved issues during our stay, we were told a refund was not possible. Instead, we were offered Marriott rewards points if we joined their rewards program. Since we do not travel frequently, those points would have been of little value and did nothing to address the inconvenience we experienced.

The air conditioning was out on our floor and we had friends staying on the floor below us and their air conditioning was out as well. Both rooms were very dusty and had obviously not been deep cleaned in a very long time. Dust and buildup on the front of the bathroom vanity, around the corners of the room, and on almost every light fixtures, picture, and surface. The shower curtain was dirty/stained. The flat sheet did not fit and came off all during the night- exposing the dirty, old mattress, We were very disappointed in our stay when one night was over $300.

We had a wonderful stay and were impressed by how well everything was handled especially considering how busy the hotel was during the Morgan Wallen concert weekend. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very accommodating throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Todd, the bellhop, who went above and beyond. He was waiting and ready to help us bring all of our belongings down to the car, and his kindness and professionalism really stood out. The valet service was also exceptional. Despite the large crowds and busy atmosphere, the valet team was organized, efficient, and we never had to wait for our vehicle. The level of service from everyone we encountered made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

Staff at front desk was excellent. Two women waitress in the bar/dining area were ignorant and didn't acknowledge the fact that our order was incorrect and brought me the cheese that we asked for on our hot sandwich on a plate. Also, our shower was freezing cold even after running the water for a long period of time.

I had a great stay here. The staff were very helpful and allowed me to check in early. I was also provided a breakfast voucher and enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning at the hotel. My room was clean and comfortable (please note that it did not have a refrigerator, if that's important). The location was very close to downtown and easy to access.

Bathroom in room is a bit dated. The bath tub mat did not look clean.
The breakfast buffet was 10 minutes late in opening. The dining room where the breakfast buffet was held was not the cleanest. The floors were not swept from the day before. The dining chairs are ripped, not a very nice area. Especially not for the price.
Beds were comfortable, however, there was a rather large hole in one of the pillow cases.

The hotel itself was nice for an older facility. The staff was pleasant and helpful. My only issue was the state of the parking garage. It was pretty disgusting- a measurable layer filth on the floors and walls as if it hadn’t been cleaned in there to any degree in years. Most disturbing was the large pile of human feces and toilet paper in the corner not far from where I parked. Nasty.

My stay did not meet the cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards I expect from a Marriott property. The original room had multiple visible cleanliness and maintenance issues in the bathroom, including stains, damaged surfaces, and marks on the walls and tub area. I reported the concerns immediately, but no replacement room was available the first night, requiring me to remain in unacceptable conditions.

Additionally, my dining experience the first evening was disappointing. The food was undercooked, the dining tables were visibly dirty, and it appeared the waitress was working alone, which negatively impacted service and overall cleanliness in the restaurant area.

Although the staff did move me to another room on the second day, no suites were available and I was placed in a double room instead. While I appreciate the eventual effort to accommodate me, the delayed resolution and overall condition of both the room and dining experience significantly affected my stay.

Great location - walkable to many parts of the city. Lots going on but once your in the room the place is peaceful for being in the heart of the city. The breakfast was good and the omelette was spot on! The staff were all vary helpful and appropriately polite. I like the place. The $50 parking valet is a bit much but once the car was park it was forgot and safe.

Ahead of time I tried to reach the hotel to request a quiet room. After reaching some non-local office, they said they would email the front desk with the request. I received an email from a on-site person saying they would take care of it. When we arrived we were given a very non-quiet room: next to the elevator and right across from the ice machine. We had to return to the front desk for a change where I was told there was a note to not change the room. So it seemed like sadistic treatment.

We booked for three nights through Hotels.com. Check-in went smooth. Room was pretty decent except the closet shelf had a fair amount of visible rodent droppings. (Photo attached)

At 5am of night 2, we both were too ill to continue our trip (NOTE - I am not attributing this to the rodent droppings, this was unrelated virus.)

I contacted the hotel to see about canceling the third night, saying I could be out of the room by 11am. They said I had to go through the third party booker. I contacted hotels.com and the representative was extremely helpful and accommodating. She called the hotel and spoke to \"Rachel\" the manager. She even offered the medical evidence from my urgent care visit. Rachel was steadfast and said she would not allow the cancelation of the third night. The hotels.com representative was apologetic and sympathetic.

I get it. I read the booking rules before the reservation was made, so no need to explain in the reply that there is no cancelation. But you know darn well the hotel could still sell a night's stay, thereby not losing money, and accommodate travelers in an unfortunate situation.

Also, I parked 4 blocks away for $32 (total) for three days. Hotel parking was $50 per day.

Oh well.

This was a good property. It was in close proximity to Downtown Pittsburgh. The food at the bar (dinner) was ok. The only downside of this trip is that if you want a hot shower in the morning, get up early because by 8 am, all I had was cold water!!

Time to put this dog down. Everything is old. The bathroom and ceilings are falling apart. Paint and wallpaper are peeling off the walls. Elevators are all damaged and old and something don’t even work. The doors and hallways are all banged up. There’s a serious shortage of staff.. room service is really really really overpriced. Valet parking at $50 a night is more than the airport. The gym is small and with three people in it already felt overcrowded.

If you bring your car get ready to pay to park which is fine but at any time they can change it to event parking and then you pay even more and the hotel doesn’t own the parking garage. The staff was excellent—very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Unfortunately, the room itself felt quite run down. Not all the garbage was emptied, and some surfaces didn’t appear to be fully cleaned. The cabinet around the mini fridge was damaged, and the mattress seemed like it could use replacing. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, but many of the chairs there were peeling and in need of repair.
Overall, the service was great, but the property could really benefit from some updates and more thorough cleaning.

Though old the rooms are ok. Better supplies and faster internet are some features which require improvements. However, the house keeping is the worst I have ever experienced, especially in a Marriott group hotel! Never knew “cleaning a room” could just be throwing a bunch of fresh towels on the bathroom vanity without touching any part of the room like making the bed, clearing the trash or actually cleaning the room itself. What a disappointment!

The hotel is clean and spacious. Could do with a refresh (power points or charge ports near the bed).

But what is outstanding is their staff. 100% every interaction was awesome. Polite. Professional. Warm and welcoming. Is something was needed, they did it. If something was uncertain, they cleared it up. They handled mail and packages. Remembered important details and got things resolved. Always with a polite smile and no extra charges.

THIS is how hospitality should work. Orlando, Vegas and the big resorts can learn plenty from the Marriott Pittsburgh!!

I recently stayed at this Marriott property in Pittsburgh as a Platinum member, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

The lounge is a joke. The food quality is mediocre at best, and the selection is extremely limited—there’s barely anything available beyond water. To make matters worse, the lounge is not accessible outside of certain hours, so even getting something as basic as water isn’t possible when it’s closed.

The bathrooms are very small, and the overall environment feels cramped and noisy. The building itself looks dated. The rooms are relatively spacious—that’s one of the few positives. Pillows provide no support.

Noise was a major issue during my stay, likely due to guests attending nearby sporting events and going out at night. It made it difficult to rest.

Overall, I paid a premium price, but this hotel does not reflect Marriott’s usual standards, especially for elite members. It feels like you’re paying primarily for the location near the sports arenas rather than for quality or comfort.

I would not recommend this property if you’re expecting the level of service and amenities typically associated with a Marriott.

I recently stayed here and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, particularly with housekeeping and cleanliness. For the first two days of our stay, our room was not properly cleaned despite being occupied, and it wasn’t until the last full day that housekeeping finally addressed it.

Additionally, the shower condition was concerning. There was a cover over the tub, and underneath it appeared brown and rusted, which made it feel unsanitary. We didn’t feel comfortable using it without shower shoes.

I do want to acknowledge that the front desk staff was kind and professional, but the issue itself was not resolved in a timely manner.

Overall, for the price paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and consistency in service.

All of the staff were very friendly. The hotel rooms and hallways need updating. The bathroom was dirty, poop stains on the toilet bowl, mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. They also charge $50.00 per night to park. They charge the same amount for people to park that are not staying at the hotel. You would think they would appreciate their actual hotel guests with a better price for parking.

Finally was able to check in after the game we attended. When I asked how we could get reimbursed for their late check in, the employee stated “we haven’t really been charging for late check outs”.

I would suggest having your car valet parked. If you use the self parking garage, the signage is very cryptic and confusing. There is no specific sign on all floors that says \"hotel entrance\". You have to KNOW what the names mean and how to navigate the hotel OR hope you run into an employee who can help you get to the front desk!!!
